How do we put the World to rights?

Confucius Sue Dreamwalker

There are many who walk this pathway on our Earth journey, who finds themselves lost. Unable to see a clear path of where their journey is taking them.. As they scramble over the rocks in life, dragging themselves out of the pits of despair, as they get sucked deeper into the mires of debt, drugs, and depression, as their world around them seems to collapse which pulls them ever deeper into the dark forces of negativity.

I see it every day on the streets, as I look into the faces of people who never smile, I see it in the devil may care attitude of some of our youth as they play havoc in a world where adults now seem to fear children for what they are becoming, with their ‘you can’t touch me’ attitude ‘I’m a minor’ and can get away with murder, which some do, and some have..

I look around at what the world in general has become, for the majority the rat race of who can accumulate the most in this throwaway society of food, goods, and that couldn’t care less attitude.

And I despair for the future of our children’s children, as our communities are full of strangers, who view each other with suspicion, who lock their doors behind them, and who dare not look another in the eye, in case they be offended and shout abuse or rob you at knife point.

Cities where we walk by those who stand begging, turning the other way, as we wonder if they are really genuine or do they leave their begging bowl and return to a plush home counting their takings for the day as we distrust each other and their motives..

Where have our Hearts gone?

When did the Care go from our lives?

When did we become strangers to one another?

Photobucket

And what can we do to put the world to rights?

First we need to take a good look at our reflections and put ourselves to rights then our communities will follow.. then our nations, and then our World… A tall order?

Confucius was a wise man when he uttered those words I quoted above..

Well  Today I got out the Mirror yet again.. … Care to join me?

Where would You start?

I know I can change no one other than myself!

But I will keep sowing the Seeds…

Blessings

~Sue~

In a world that seems to thrive on greed,
all one can do is hope for a better future.
The base elements of goodness are in all
of us, but as you have already said, these
qualities handed down from generation to
generation are being lost and in its place is
an ever changing society that seems bent
on destruction. Let us hope that change is
coming soon and that it is for the better 🙂

A nicely written posting that gives us food
for thought in this forever changing world
    that we live in…

    Have a wonderful
    rest of evening Sue 🙂

Change is what we want for the world.. Change for the betterment of Mankind.. If we do nothing to change our own thinking our own prejudices our own judgements and our own ways of being.. How can we expect the World to change..

We ALL of us see it every day the things we do not like.. and often we just shrug our shoulders and say ‘Oh well thats just the way it is..’ We are so intolerant of one another and I caught myself today being judgemental.. How many times do we judge a day? and Condemn another?, and yet we do not know that person..

How many times are we who are wanting change adding to the stream of consciousness by our own negative thoughts?

I was faced again today to look within my own Mirror and the reflection I was not happy with… So I need to try harder..

For we can only work upon our selves..

Many thanks Andro for this fine comment…
      you too enjoy your evening..

I get those negative looks a lot my great friend, just because someone is different does not mean that they should be subjected to such judgemental attitudes, I know from time to time we all do that, but we shouldn’t as it is wrong. I couldn’t care less what looks I get as I am happy as I am but I know that those same looks hurt the feelings of others, and this is what we all need to realise. After all we are all of the same people of this earth, brothers and sisters alike, and we should be reflecting that in everything that we do 🙂

Have a lovely evening Sue and thank you
for your kindness in thoughts and being 🙂

How wrong those are to judge a book by its cover Andro… I know working years with those whose looks are not the norm with learning difficulties.. I see the horror and disgust upon their faces and would that they got to know the individuals I worked with, They would be surprised at the humour the laughter and the love they all give..

          Thank you my Good friend

Great thoughts DW…Couldn’t agree more 🙂 We can all get ourselves right in front of the mirror, but what worries me is the millions of souls wandering around in a total haze of drugs, mind control and propaganda…How the heck will they ever look within? It doesn’t even occur to them…Sad but true…Blessings…VK xxoo

Yes the millions are a worry, But I know I can do nothing about the millions…. But one drop at a time eventually creates an ocean VK… So I keep adding my drops. and hope soon many more will drop their pebbles within the pond and create their own ripples… When enough of us do.. We then can create a wave…. And when that day arrives.. I will be riding high upon it.. Smiles…
      Keep Positive..
And I hope soon the Sun brakes through and the rain stops and the Rainbow hues will add colour ..

I may be quite a while in replying as I have lots on from today onwards..

    Hi hun! 🙂

I get judged as delusional and, therefore, a liar because I have paranoid schizophrenia even though I only tell the absolute truth!!! 😦

The local kids were a nightmare for decades and now have moved elsewhere because we took care of the drug dealers and the shops selling them under-age booze.

The problem hasn’t gone away, it has just moved… 😦

Sue, it sounds like we had opposite experiences today. I’m sorry you found yourself seeing the negative today. It is so hard to look past the self destruction we see in others, especially if their actions affect us directly.

This was a fantastic post, Sue. Hopefully tomorrow will show you plenty.of good in those around you.

It is hard not to judge some days, don’t be too hard on yourself, at least you saw what you were doing and were quick to remedy your attitude.

Sun, we get a bit then it rains. We are having storms most days, some hold off until evening. Today I found it has rained so much that the pathway in our Little Cove are nothing but mud, but to the little one’s delight when they squished their toes in the stuff.

in each negative we will see a good…
some days its hard to see that good…I know its there…but some days
I sit out the rat race….
little things irritate me the past few days…I get so tired of this instant gratification world and bad behavior is rewarded with no consequences as not to upset someone’s onesided view of the world…
as always your words flow into the wind where they will be heard…felt
and another seed of kindness will be planted ….

Life teachers us in so many ways and often its only through the negative we see the positive.. for without the Bad things in life. I know we would not learn what was Good.. So within our world there has to be both..
Finding our balance to see and move on is the lesson and often those lessons are painful experiences.. But in going through them within our Earths incarnation helps us grow ever stronger in our Eternal Progress… Hard as they seem…

Seeing through them and understanding them helps.. Letting them go can be harder still.. the wounds we have felt.. But learning to do so then allows us to see clearer who we are and how far we have travelled…

Our journeys are never done nor are our learning or lessons.. I was reminded again I still have much work to do upon my inner being… But Another page was turned as another lesson was learned..

Love always and I am always here my friend always for a sister I know who has learnt much along her own pathway…

Sue, your post reveals the affects of our greedy world and how we can hope to make it a better place. My heart aches everyday for the happenings in the world. When I was involved at the heart of community work in Edinburgh, I had so many sleepless nights. I know I helped to change lives, but there is always so much more that can be done. Take carexxxx

Hi Lavendergirl :-).. I had to rescue your comment from out of my spam box for some reason… I seem to be rescuing more and more from it as technology gets it wrong.. 🙂

Yes when we see first hand the impacts of the world as you did in Edinburgh .. it plays on our minds… and it takes a lot of working upon ourselves to learn that throughout the world each right and wrong has a part to play in the duality of our world in both Positive and Negative… Learning to find ones own balance is the Key to better understanding…
I will be absent a while longer from WP.. so bare with me you are not forgotten..

This is a beautiful post Sue. Also, it is sad, but the truth about being able to transcend the ‘darkness’ through first getting right with ourselves (which might require some thinking on what we believe in), is inspiring.

I haven’t been reading much online lately, but yesterday, what I did read was very similar as what you’ve written in this post.
I seem to be lost now, for words, so I’ll just have to leave you my short note.

Thank you for continuing to sow the seeds. I am, as always, grateful to experience or somehow, be a part of the life force that flows in you and your words. Thank you!

Wishing you wellness, peace and joy!
    Love,
    Michelle.

Some times we just have to take a different perspective in how we view ourselves and Life Michelle… Looking within our own Mirrors at what we reflect out can at times be the hardest of all things to do.. I know for one I have had to look deep within and reflect hard upon my own self.
But once we do and agree within to change our mind-sets and attitudes and learn to smile at the world, And ourselves.. then the world then reflects back to us that which we give out..
Sending Love and Gratitude my lovely friend..
And I hope that soon all your worries and pain will be gone I truly do…

        Hi Sue,

Yes, looking at our own mirrors… I wonder exactly what I am putting out there these days. I feel a lot of sadness and pain and that life is just way too hard for me. I feel so much worry and fear. I think taking care of my son, without help, has just gotten the best of me. It is not his fault by any means. I am working on getting him onto a team and I thought they would have already come to visit, but nothing yet. We sure need a change Sue. I’ve thought of traveling up north, to visit two friends who have invited us up. We really don’t have much to stay here for if all the treatment teams are not going to help him. We need people. I’ve read about people offering Sanctuary in their homes for those struggling with a mental illness so the person does not have to go into a hospital where they normally don’t get to go outside at all. I wish there were people like that in my state, but they all seem to be up north in the cold part of our country. I feel lost and confused, but I guess I said that.

I imagine I need to meditate and also, I met a man who teaches people how to drum. A female friend of his contacted me and invited us to a drum circle. I am going to try to remember so we can go. I think drumming helps me and so it might help my son to be in a circle of drummers and participate there. I will let you know if we go!

I hope you have a nice weekend. It is still raining here! And, apparently, it is going to keep on. I have never ever seen so much rain.

        With Love and Gratitude,
        Michelle and Family (((hugs)))

Your words reminded me of this:

    The NeverEnding Story (1984)
G’mork: If you come any closer, I will rip you to shreds.
    Atreyu: Who are you?
G’mork: I am G’mork. And you, whoever you are, can have the honor of being my last victim.
Atreyu: I will not die easily. I am a warrior!
G’mork: Ha! Brave warrior, then fight the Nothing.
Atreyu: But I can’t! I can’t get beyond the boundaries of Fantasia!
[G’mork laughs and Atreyu gets a little angry]
Atreyu: What’s so funny about that?
    G’mork: Fantasia has no boundaries.
    [laughs]
Atreyu: That’s not true! You’re lying.
G’mork: Foolish boy. Don’t you know anything about Fantasia? It’s the world of human fantasy. Every part, every creature of it, is a piece of the dreams and hopes of mankind. Therefore, it has no boundaries.
Atreyu: But why is Fantasia dying, then?
G’mork: Because people have begun to lose their hopes and forget their dreams. So the Nothing grows stronger.
    Atreyu: What is the Nothing?
G’mork: It’s the emptiness that’s left. It’s like a despair, destroying this world. And I have been trying to help it.
    Atreyu: But why?
G’mork: Because people who have no hopes are easy to control; and whoever has the control… has the power!

everywhere I went today Sue, I smiled at others and they smiled back at me. I know the sun is shining here in England, and that does make a difference to peoples attitudes. BUT nevertheless we shared something, those people and I. So hopefully the ‘feeling’ generated will multiply. Small steps, methinks, make for more ground covered in the end, and looking back we’ll see how far we have travelled along the road of discovery. . So many base needs people seem to want, greed and selfishness may rule the day for some, but I feel sure that there are many such as you, and I and all who comment in reply to your words, who want more for this glorious Planet of ours. Caring thoughts, actions and deeds, make for better human beings. If we all try to scatter the seeds, surely most will take and grow. Thought provoking blog as usual, lovely friend. I shall press ‘post’ with confidence. 🙂 (NO naked jigging about!) love and light xPenx

It is terrible to see, terrible to stand before them and look into their faces some of them are so young. First meditate and still the mind. Next study Confucius to learn respect, The Buddha for wisdom and Lao Tzu for nature and balance. Then try to put all your knowledge into practice, You know this, the question is how do we open other eyes and minds? If we set the best example we can and the ignorant can learn by this or struggle on wanting and clinging to impermanence. May the force be with you Sue Dreamwalker.

Each of us, carries within us the capacity to change the world in small ways for better or worse. Everything we do and think affects the people in our lives, and their reactions in turn affect others As the effect of a seemingly insignificant word passes from person to person, its impact grows and can become a source of great joy, inspiration, anxiety, or pain. Your thoughts and actions are like stones dropped into still waters, causing ripples to spread and expand as they move outward.. I hope that I can send a few ripples out via the web of life, as we each of us weave the threads together... Welcome to my Sanctuary of Peace and Love...
