Freedom to Fly. Look UP!.

What happened to the Sun that misty skies now shroud

Has anyone looked up to see beyond the clouds?

The weather patterns changing, with the lines made in the sky

Have you ever stopped to question, or ask the reason why?

~~

They talk about pollution, from diesel fumes to plastic

Green Taxes, so called solutions, Green Papers and statistics

Yet all the while what goes up is falling from our sky

Look up from your Devices and open up your eyes

~~

Fluoride in our water Aluminium in our heads

Electronic waves of WiFi microwaving us in our beds

Is it any wonder we feel depleted, drained and confused?

As technology re-wires and short-circuits, as we blow a fuse.

~~

Gameshows on the increase, as T.V. zombies clone

While overhead keeps belching those cloud seeding drones

Some day I want to shout, Scream, Rant and Rave!

Instead I go within, reconnecting my inner Sage

~~

I used to shout ‘WAKE UP!’ but I wonder if I am too late

One only has to ‘LOOK’ to see the Human State

We’ve separated from Nature, wrapped up in material greed

And yet I’ll keep on planting, illuminating seeds

~~

To flourish as a planet, these seeds need to grow

For each of us are responsible, of the seeds each do sow

Each has a choice, Free Will, to pick and choose

I hope we make the right ones, if not we all will lose.

This week I will be busy in on my plot, and I have a painting I need to finish..

So Have a Beautiful  Summer Solstice..

And Enjoy this painting video of Akiane’s …

The Poem I wrote when chemtrails got the better of me one evening.

Remember  we may not have wings, but all of us can fly…

Just use your imagination.. And Soar..

You will find me floating in the flower beds and among  cabbages.

Love And Blessings!

Native American Wisdom~ Three in One

A Watercolour-Native-American Chief

It never fails to amaze me how the Universe conspires to guide us and also sends her signs for us to follow, should we be alert enough to take notice of her messages.

While I have hopped on my blog many times to answer comments over the last week,  I have also been trying to compose a post.. But due to some technical issues I had with my internet, and planned day trips out, the Universe thought it better for me to wait a while longer. So I am combining the post with some photo images from my Trip out and my garden visitors.

So while I waited, not one but two of my Blogging friends asked if I would take up the three day quote’s challenge.. Now every so often I am up for a challenge.

I didn’t have to scratch my head for long as to  what great quotes I could share, there are so many that inspire us. But then as it often the case when we open ourselves up to the ‘Signs’, As I opened up my cupboard door one morning, while I was looking on the top shelf for some art paper, a miniature book  dropped out at my feet. A sure Sign it needed to be read again. And wouldn’t you know it, this is a little book of quotes entitled Native American Wisdom, Miniature Edition, In the book are various quotes from Native American Indians from Mourning Dove, to Chief Seattle  the brilliant  photography is by Edward S Curtis .

The book I bought oh way back in the 90’s when my life then was full of all things Native American, for as my Spiritual connections were strengthening as my Spiritual awareness expanded, their presence became stronger in my day to day world.

So I have to thank Wendi over at  Simply Chronically Ill.   for her kind nomination.

And to Paul over at Learning From Dogs for nominating me to take part in the three-day quote challenge.. However my Three Quotes will all be within this one-off post.  For they are all related.  So already I am altering the rules, but if you wish to take part the rules as such will be included at the end..

So I flipped open my little book and on page 30 and 31 I found two of the quotes perfect for some photos I also wish to share with you, so you see, the Universe does know what she is doing, all we have to do is go within its flow, and all things blend perfectly.

Quote One. From Eagle Chief [Letakots-Lesa] More can be found here about this quote and Eagle Chief  ( Late 19th Century) Pawnee

“In the beginning of all things, wisdom and knowledge were with the animals, for Tirawa  , the One Above, did not speak directly to man. He sent certain animals to tell men that he showed himself through beasts, and that from them, and from the Stars and the Sun and the Moon should man learn……. All things tell of  Tirawa.”

One only has to look up to the sky and see the changes within it to see that ALL things change, and we too need to adapt and change. We humans often interfere with the animal kingdom forgetting their vital roles in their parts in keeping everything in perfect balance.. Only now man is beginning to see how his interference in nature and the environment is causing huge problems for all living things both on land and in the ocean, as our greed consumes even our own safety.  As we pollute everything we touch.. Even outer space is now littered with our debris. …We would do well to look to the Stars and Look to the Beasts.. and LEARN..

Blackbird feeding his fledglings either side of the post.

Quote Two From Mourning Dove [Christine Quintasket] More can be found here about Mourning Dove and her contribution as an author.(1888-1936) Salish.

” ……… everything on the Earth has a purpose, every disease an herb to cure it, and every person a Mission. This is the Indian theory of existence “

How many of us feel we are on a Mission.? I know I certainly have felt strongly I was here for a reason, as I explore my own existence upon this planet. So too all things have purpose.. One can not exist without the other.. The very air with breathe is being created by the trees, what the trees breathe out, we breathe in and visa versa..

We have to look to nature not chemicals for cures, but more importantly, seek out that which is causing sickness. Is is not just the diseases which cause illness.. But the Dis-ease in which we live..  When we each of us learn to live in Balance, and not from a point of Lack, we may then begin to live in harmony with one another, when we learn to share that which we have.

Now my last and final quote is from this book also, on Page 96, and if you should click the links you can find out so much more about the life of this lady and all others mentioned here. Each of them very wise, and I am sure many will agree, it’s time we started to embrace their wisdom once again.

Quote Three.FromGertrude Simmons Bonnin [Zirkala- Sa] -meaning in Lakota: [Red Bird] (1876- 1938 ) Dakota Sioux.

“…..  the voice  of  the Great Spirit is heard in the twittering of birds, the rippling of mighty waters, and the sweet breathing of flowers.  If this is Paganism, then at present, at least I am Pagan.”

(The above photos were taken at Chatsworth House RHS Flower show. One of my planned days out. ) Click onto the images to take you to a larger view.

Gertrude at the age of eight was taken for ‘education’ to the White’s Indiana Manual Labour Institute to be separated from her family.  We can only imagine what some of those camps were like.  She later wrote about the misery of those early days in this school in her later published book ‘The School Days of an Indian Girl’   I have included the pdf link to some of her book in the link.

I will leave this video with you to explain the life of Gertrude Simmons Bonnin a most remarkable woman who stood up for Native American Women..

May we see all things as opportunities and gifts to be used in beauty and love..  We are all of us going through a cleansing process, the world is mirroring this.. So do not get embroiled in day today negative drama, step into your own power and into  your own world of peace. Embrace Nature, See beauty in ALL things, Open your hearts and as you do so will your world about you change into one of harmony and balance.

You may find yourself needing extra rest, and sleep, I know I have, so allow yourself to go with the flow…

And know All is well in your world..

Love and Blessings

Rules:

So here are the Rules if you should wish to take part.. But you know me, Rules are meant to be bent a little now and again also.

1: Thank the person who nominated you.

2: Post a quote for 3 days and explain why it appeals to you

3: Nominate bloggers each day! (Or as in my case.. You are all invited to take part if you so wish.. ) As I couldn’t pick just a few..

Following the Flow

Arriving back from my vacation can often feel like a shock to the system, as we adjust back into the realm of being busy, as our days of relaxation are soon over.

Having had time away in beautiful Scotland, when I arrived home, the weather in England had been exceptionally warm, and therefore everything in the garden had bloomed, including the weeds.  So, among our first tasks was to set too and water and weed and sow seeds that still needed to be sown and plant out things which had been in the cold-frame which were ready for the allotment.

This was what it was like when we left this piece at the end of April before my holiday.

Sometimes things have to take a backseat and it happened to be my blogs this time that were pending.  So, apologies for those of you who still await my replies to your generous comments on my last post. I am hoping to get around to responding shortly to all, and have made a start.

This is how the weeds had grown in a couple of weeks, and the rest of the allotments were the same.

But sometimes we just have to follow the flow, and for the moment, I need to pour my attention into planting and sowing for the moment.

The older we get the more effort it takes and sometimes I am just too tired to do anything else other than stare into space and enjoy the solitude and quiet space as I empty my head which we all of us need after spending time hoeing and weeding between beetroot and parsnips seedling. So in the afternoons I have been meditating and sleeping, rejuvenating and going within the flow of Now.

This view looks down to the sheds and there is more of the plot behind the sheds, which gives you the scale of our plot.

Please know that I will get around to your comments and eventually your blogs, but for now I need to honour my body as I find all I want to do is sleep.  So, I am Just going with the flow as I get caught up with what needs doing in our home and our allotments.

Fruit bushes now weeded between since this photo.

Have a beautiful weekend and remember. ENJOY THE NOW OF YOUR MOMENTS, for we take so very much our Now Moments for granted.

Love and Blessings and hope to be back to normal blogging very soon.

The alchemy of consciousness that created you and me

Is nudging us to lift our hearts to open and begin to see

That the branches we stand upon within the Tree of Life

Keeps us reaching upwards, as you walk away from strife.

And from the lofty view, as we gaze back upon our path

We see the culmination of our thoughts that create such wrath

So, stand within your power, The elixir of your Light

As you open up your Vision, create a brand-new Sight.

Know that your thoughts are the paint in all you do

You can either paint in bright colours or allow fear to dim your view.

Nature despite all that the seasons throws at her, she never gives in. No matter how cold or how much snow or rain has covered those new shoots, she pushes on through and ALWAYS Blooms. Giving us her best with what she has been given.  I often feel for the animals who must at times be as confused as we are, but they continue to be motivated to survive and thrive.  They never give up, no matter what is thrown at them, they learn to adapt, or they don’t survive.

Spring brought us a weeks grace here the other week when temperatures soared to record highs in the UK for April in 70 years, It lasted a week, then plummeted back to normal, and once again the wind and rain has set in. While I know in other parts of the world Snow and cold temperatures have lasted longer than normal, While in other parts Floods never seen before have been happening.

No matter what the world is showing us at the moment, be it in extreme weather or extreme behaviours, we have to be more like nature, and keep on keeping on, just being the BEST we can be.

Time is precious.  And we all of us spend far too much time worrying over things out of our control.. At times I want to rant and rave and shout my rage at what I know to be.. Yet doing so is only adding to the Chaotic energies which is being purposely generated. My rants often come in the words of poems and if people are open enough they will see the meaning behind them.

Each of us holds tremendous power, yet we so easily give this power away… The power of our own Energy, our own minds and our own thinking. .. Don’t allow your energy be sabotaged, I have done some deep searching into my own negative blip as I allowed my emphatic self be swamped by emotional issues of the world.  While we all need to be compassionate, we also have to understand each of us hold our own responsibilities, we can not be responsible for another’s actions

I have recently picked up the book again by Eckhart Tolle  and started to re-read his words of the POWER OF NOW. Never more has it been more vital to see just how much Power we hold in this moment of time..  And using our minds to create the sort of world we want to live in.

So if you feel overwhelmed at times and confused, and aghast at the world at large, remember we each create our future by what we are thinking in the now. Our own energy is vital. So if we join in with prejudice, anger and discrimination,  that is what we will keep perpetuating.

Look around you, everything you see, was once an idea, a thought brought into being by intention and action..

Thought Creates

So if we want a society to be more peaceful and a world which lives in balance with nature, we have to realise it all starts from altering our own habits, our own thoughts as we adapt to alter our ways of BEing.

I will leave you with a few Spring flowers, and the Top Picture just for Betty whose Poem Vine brought me to take a picture of some Ivy entwined within my conifer tree.

Wishing you all a Wonderful Weekend

The Good, Bad and Indifferent.

A couple of evenings ago I wrote a lengthy piece in my journal. I just wanted to get things off my chest and so I wrote and wrote.

I spoke about our thoughts, I spoke about our judging of others. Saying we all judge, be it by status, gender, wealth, colour, religion, nationality.

I spoke about Truth, and how we seldom stretch ourselves to see the Truth of the world. This illusion, which holds us prisoners to become slaves to greed. As we buy into the beliefs of consumerism and debt. That never ending carrot which is dangled before us, that ties in so many to be forever slaves to debt.. I spoke how the commercial world Soft soaps and dupes us by clever advertising that lures us in, to make us believe we need all the things we can quiet easily live without that often many go into dept for just to keep up with the latest trends..

I spoke about our thoughts, and how they spin us into the creation of our future, and how we constantly judge, and cannot see the Ugliness of our own thoughts that spin out in judgement on a daily basis. Be they to criticise how someone looks, dresses, speaks, behaves, We all of do it constantly, in condemnation, discrimination, that then turn to jealousies, bullying and hateful behaviours that stain and taint and blacken our natures, that drives bitterness and vindictiveness to sour our world.

I spoke about education. And to what we are exposing our children to.  How children are no longer allowed to be children and play. And how pressure of parents and education are pilled ever higher upon their young shoulders to succeed. So, the education systems often lose sight of the child as they become statistics as schools are rated by performances.

I wrote on how the film, media and gaming industries promote violence, war, murder, and rape. And then we wonder why the world is mirroring back such acts of violence.  And why we have become so desensitised, so we barely blink an eye in response.  Why so many live in a surreal world of virtual reality. And I wrote about how many are turning to escape the realities of living as suicides increase in our young, and more synthetic drugs come into their possession.

I went on about living in our own little boxes, to which we categorise, label, then often shutting the lid, we try not to think about the suffering on going in so many parts of the world. So in recompense, to appease our conscience’s, we can often be seen tossing a few coins into some charity jar to make us feel we are doing something worthwhile to help the world.

I spoke about how those who have become King of their own particular Forests no longer see the trees that surround them. They no longer see through eyes that reach up to the heavens to see why acid rain falls to Earth. They do not see the burnt forests or the indigenous lives destroyed. While smoke settles on the wind out of lands that drive families across borders with nothing other than their lives. All they see is their own importance as their own greed consumes them so their hearts are as black as the scorched earth they have devoured ..

I asked what kind of a species have we become.. and to what are we turning into that we can watch our Children suffer as we destroy their future world.

In fact my writing was quite a rant!! Which is toned down for this post.

But then I went on to speak about HOPE.. That all elusive word that keeps us hanging on..

HOPE, Hope is a word we use often. How many times do we rely upon Hope

H – Helping ourselves to

O – Optimism in times of

P – Pain, we hope against hope that

E – Everything will turn out just fine.

Well, I have said enough about all that is Bad… Now what about the GOOD.

That is the theme for next time..

Garden of Life!

I hope you have all had a wonderful Easter Break.

May I just thank all who are my regular readers here for all of your wonderful contributions to comments I appreciate you all. Also may I say welcome to all new followers  which have been many who have joined this year. I hope you enjoy browsing and reading.

Over the Easter weekend, we have spent many hours in our garden, planting seeds and weeding out.. So time for writing a new post has been limited.. So looking for inspiration I looked through my WP archives and came upon this aptly named post. Which I will re-schedule and post again .. Enjoy..

Today I was reminded once again about Seeds, as I was updating and deleting many of my  Old Word Documents today I came across this piece I wrote back in 2007. And as nothing is ever by Chance!  It was part of a post I did on a forum. It didn’t have a title and I can’t even remember if I posted it .. But I will give it a title today..

Scattered Seeds of Thought.

Are we not all seeds? Have we not all been scattered?

Some may have fallen upon what is termed ‘the good earth’.

Whereby some may feel they have had all the benefits of a rich material upbringing.

Some seeds scattered may have felt they missed the ploughed furrow, the less fortunate circumstances,  but have still had a good foundation in which to grow.

And others have fallen upon the rocky edges where they have struggled to extend their roots to draw upon the nourishment and courage to grow, and have shriveled in their insecurities.

While others get entangled within the weeds, as they flounder, seeking to find themselves but being overshadowed by others until the wheat is no longer recognizable.

We may feel that it is the farmer’s hand of fate which determines where we shall fall?

But does not every seed have within it the same potential of growth?

Does not each seed no matter upon which ground it falls extends its roots downward searching for that nourishment which to feed from?

Does it still not lift its head and bend searching for the light?

Each of us has that potential to grow to bloom no matter what path we find ourselves upon.

I have witnessed many beautiful flowers that have fallen into crevices upon my concrete pathway, which I have marveled that they have taken root and bloomed.

And I have often wondered at the strength of the weed, as I have seen the dandelions push there way through solid tarmac growing healthily and strong.

And I have planted many a good plant in good fertile earth, fed and fussed over it, only to have it wilt and die

We have many fertile fields awaiting us. And that there are millions of different seeds we can sow.

But we must bring to our attention to the seed within, the strength we need to find starts within that centre of our Being.

To unfold ourselves to the warmth of the sun

We need to reach forever upward to allow ourselves to absorb that life giving

‘Light’.

It is only ourselves that give us Labels. It is only ourselves who determines what is a weed and what is a flower..

Within Our Earth Mothers Garden we are all equal in beauty all of us grow from the same beginnings.. We each of us start life as  a seed..

The Harvest of Life is  soon about to show us

What we Sow, so shall we Reap..

May we Keep Planting LOVE, HARMONY and PEACE.

The Elder~ Shedding of Skins~ Part3

Things with Wings

Things with Wings

The woman had to leave the painting alone for a while, but the Elder was never far from her thoughts as she pondered upon what the Elder had spoken of regarding the Renewing and Regenerating.

She thought about her beloved forest walks and in particular the Standing Ones of the Oak Tribe who had always drawn her to their energy.

On her walks she would often reach out to touch their bark, their outer skin, gnarled and cracked, marveling upon their ages.

The forest of Sherwood that she loved so well held one of the oldest and well known, The Major Oak  Whose Standing had seen so many changes during at least 1,000 years reign over his domain.  She thought of the changes still to come as she had signed petitions to try to prevent Fracking from under his roots.  She again sent a silent prayer out to her Earth Mother as she thought of all the destruction Mankind had caused upon and deep into her own Earth Crust skin.

The Major Oak is now supported with beams and wires .

The Major Oak is now supported with beams and wires its age is approximated to be over 800 to 1,000 years.. Can you see the Elephant within its trunk?

By the time the woman returned to pick up her brushes, the woman was eager to learn what the Elder had to teach her. Today she filled in more details to the bark, the tiny brush strokes making patterns she picked out the creepy crawlies, spiders, and grubs now forming. The woman thought deeply upon the thousands of insects that made their home in the bark and among the crevasses and branches of the Standing Ones.

Trees are home to Thousands of insects and wildlife

Trees are home to Thousands of insects and wildlife

The Elder remained silent, allowing the woman to penetrate each crevasse with her brush stroke as deeper she sank into her own world of thought.  She painted the skin of the snake as it twisted up and out along the branch of the Elder, and thought of the many symbols mankind had used in which the snake had played a part.

ELDER Snake branch

The serpent representing both good and bad.  The secret to a snake’s success was its scales providing both impetus and resistance. It shed many skins to allow it to keep on growing. It glided over everything managing to climb trees, swim and bury itself beneath the earth.  She thought deeper to the various cultures which had created both Fascination and Fear.

Quetzalcoatl the Feathered Serpent came to mind.

Scholars had twisted the snake symbol for use of many of their own interpretations. The snake reminding her of the Kundalini, providing the Spark of Life, a great healer in many symbols.  As she thought of her own snake-like-spine, and that of the Standing Ones trunk. Connecting both Heaven and Earth.  As she thought of the times she had meditated her spine pressed against their trunk as she asked for The Standing Ones Healing.

She thought of healing and remembered the medical profession who also had it within their healing symbol The Caduceus entwined around a staff with wings. And the Rod of Asclepius  And wondered upon how these symbols had been created.  She assumed the snake meant both Life and Death which was what the medical professions dealt with at all times.

So many interpretations Mankind had given to the snake, both positive and negative which she had read about, ‘Which were correct?’  she thought.

The Elder picking up on her question answered. “ All of them,” said the Elder, “The snake is neither Good or bad, it is the cycle of Life itself. The Ouroboros  The snake shows you by leaving your skin behind life begins anew. Your Human skin is but a shell and so too will be left behind.

In your world, there can be no birth without death. It is a perpetual cycle.  You will see this again and again in nature. But your Human Tribe do not follow the natural law of the predator-prey cycle. Your Human Tribe has killed all the animals it deems as bad.  Such as the Wolf , Bear and Fox.

Then you cry when your forests get overrun with Deer and Elk and Rabbits. Who then strip the forests and grasslands bare and they then suffer and starve as the balance is upset. You Humans then take it upon yourselves to cull and thin out the over population of species. Causing more suffering”.

She thought of the disease  Myxomatosis introduced to Rabbits  And the many Rabbits she had seen affected as a child in the country. She also thought of the Elephant tribe and wondered at the suffering of their tribe at the hands of mans ignorance and greed. It was no coincidence that the image of the Elephant had crept into her painting embedded within its roots.Or the horrendous culling of young seal cubs that were clubbed to death. This too was woven within the roots of her painting.

“Yet” continued the Elder, “If you had let well alone Nature would keep the balance by its own natural cycles..  Each living thing that is placed upon your Earth Mother has purpose. And is subject to natural law. Including you Humans. But you have long forgotten the natural laws of Cause and Effect. You think you are superior to them. But the Universe as a whole is governed by them, there is no escape.”

This has been digitally enhances to these shades.

As the woman continued to paint, eyes appeared in her imagination which had transferred to the bark which peered deeper into her soul. She thought upon the many times she had sort out the Standing Ones healing. And to the shedding of her many tears pressed up against their trunks. How many sobs had they listened to? never judging, always steadfast, silent but for their whispers on the wind as they imparted their calm reverence.

They replaced her own sapping energy with their own as she often felt their pulse beat up through her spine. They had become bound by their roots as she imagined her energy tap-root from her spine going down around theirs into Mother Earths Heart as she meditated.

She knew the Standing Ones were the wisdom keepers, each year witnessing the changes, information contained within their own growth cycles of both good and bad years. Each inner ring a record, yet its outer skin/bark remained the same. Showing us how we have so many layers and yet can hold a constant mask to our outer Being.

We all grow from our inner centre outward from our hearts. And how important it was to go within and find those years which had affected our growth.

The woman stood back from her painting. She thanked again the Elder for the wisdom, knowing that as a world right now, we were but shedding another skin. Mankind was in yet another cycle of Learning, growing in inner wisdom as he woke up to himself.

To be continued..
