Gaia ~ Earth Day April 22nd

Hello dear friends, ( this is the first time I’ve republished from my phone. But I couldn’t allow Earth Day to pass by without honouring our Earth Mother.. Below in black type was written previously, but it still stands true. I’m very busy right now planting, watering our large allotments. Which you will see in the side bar link to Dreamwalkers Garden.  I hope you are all well, and being creative in your personal spaces. Sending you all so much love, and blessings. I hope to connect back with you all very soon 🙏💕😘) ps. Have you noticed how clear the skies are since our lockdown, at least here in the UK they have been cloudless for a change!!! 😊

0*0*0

I have been rather busy over the last week as we have been planting out young plants and sowing seeds while we have had such good weather.  So, I have not had time to put together a post So I am refreshing  one  I made in 2013.  Today Saturday I was wandering through the halls of my reader to catch new posts that are in there from your good selves. Where I came across JoAnna’s post which reminded me it was Earth Day tomorrow as she hugged a tree and was joining ‘Grandmothers For Peace’, in the park later today..

Earth Day began in 1970 to bring awareness about Environmental Issues. Forty-Eight Years later and those Issues are not getting better, they seem to be getting worse.

In my poem and post below, there are many things we can do to change and help our environment, it is no good us waiting for change. We have to change our consumer habits and cut down on plastic waste, and really think how our actions are affecting nature.

Have a wonderful Earth Day tomorrow all of you. Apologies to those who read this back in 2013. But I think we need to hear the words again..

Enjoy the poem and the  top photos were taken by myself in Austria some years ago.. The Chemtrails were also taken by me over my home.

Love and Light.. Sue ❤

Oh Earth Mother oh Earth Mother we come to you this day

We come to you in gratitude to honour you and say

Thank you for your bounties and wonderful gifts

For your rivers and your mountains and desert sand that drifts

Your forests full of life from insect to humming-bird

Thank you for all wonders like migrating wildlife herds

Of Wildebeest and Elephant whose numbers now decline

I hope you will forgive the errors of Mankind

Forgive us for the wars we’ve waged,Mankind will never win

I wish I could take back all the poisons from your skies

And undo all the damage as we Humans tell our lies

I hear you creak and groan as you shudder and  you shake

I feel your falling tears in the rain and snow you make.

You show us with your storms the power you possess

Please forgive your children whose damage we have wrought

On April 22nd is Earth Day  Earth Day was founded back in the 70’s, We are all now more aware how our planet’s climate is changing, each of us have witnessed weather patterns that have gone haywire. We see daily the pollutants in our skies, Rivers and Oceans.

There are many things we each can do to help the environment, as we recycle, and embrace greener alternatives.. In our own area School children have been on a clear up campaign collecting rubbish from the streets, parks and hedgerows . It’s also good to see the junior school with their own allotment  near our own growing their own produce learning how to grow their own food and care for plants and wild life.

One of the greatest things each of us can do which costs nothing and that is to respect Nature, take your rubbish home with you, Don’t pick wild flowers. If you fish don’t leave your line and hooks in the water.. Simple things like helping Mother nature along, planting Bee and Butterfly friendly shrubs and plants in your garden. Do not use insecticide, that affects the Bees..

Encourage Hedgehogs who keep your slugs down by leaving gaps in your garden fences.  Many little things go a long way to helping Heal the World..  Respecting our environment in which we live and learning to respect each other will go along way to creating a better future for our Children to live and grow in our world..

The Isle of Mull~Enjoy

After our 45-minute crossing from Oban we re-boarded our bus which came over on the Ferry with us to make our way across the Island. Our driver set the ambiance by playing The Mull Of Kintyre made famous by Paul  McCartney .

Please click onto the gallery pictures this will take you to the enlarged versions with narrative below

We set off to cross the Isle of Mull for we had a date with another ferry to take us to the Isle of Iona.

Although the island coastline covers some 300 miles there are less than 3,000 people living on Mull, with the island’s capital town of Tobermory accounting for nearly 1,000 of those.

The capital is Tobermory, unfortunately our trip did not include this picturesque colourful place which is featured on the Children’s BBC.. in the fictitious Preschool TV programme of Balamory  A link of Tobermory can be found here with its colourful cottages in another short video.

This was Bunessan Primary School. Here they take pupils from Nursery School to the age of Eleven years old.

We were curious about the schooling on the Isle of Mull. Our Driver guide told us that the Children go to school on the Island until they are 11 yrs old.. After that they have to travel to the mainland on Scotland. He said it is nothing for a child to be travelling 2 hours before starting school and 2 hours back.  Which made my own 5 mile journey from our small village when I was small seem nothing at all.

A small community on the edge of the shore line .

The star attractions with many who visit are the with Golden and White Tailed Eagles, dolphins and basking sharks, deer, otters and puffins among other bird wild life. We were hoping perhaps of a sighting of a Dolphin on our crossing, (I think they had all swam out to Ireland!) Big smiles Bela.   But we did spot a sea otter swimming close to the shore line among the sea weed before it dived out of view. Too quick for me and my camera. But it was a joy none the less.

These views just kept getting better and better as we travelled the length of Mull

I wish I had had more time to explore the Isle of Mull, but its memory will remain embedded deep within my heart

The Damage We Do…

This post is scheduled and I resurrected an old poem as I watched today  Wednesday how the weather is lashing back.. My thoughts are with all of you and those of you who have been battered by the resent storms.

I see how devastating the storm of Hurricane Matthew has swept through.  My thoughts go to those in the Bahamas and Cuba and to the people of Haiti whose flimsy homes have been blown and washed away..

To my USA friends stay safe if  you are in the path of this storm..

A poem I wrote below reflects how badly we have treated our Earth Mother in the Past..  And I can not help but feel our Earth’s Mothers heart as she lashes her breath to wake us all up to her power..

What Have We Become?

What have we become that we cannot begin to see?

The Damage that we’ve done to our Ocean land and Trees,

We belch out pollution, pumping veins in Mother Earth

Spewing out our poisons that pollute around her girth

~~

Her Ocean floors we’ve blackened, turning all to red,

And blood is on our hands as our sea-life is now dead

What have we become that we cannot begin to see?

The damage with we do which affects both you and me

~~

The aerosols we spray like the Chemtrails across our sky

Leave a trail of poison and no one is asking Why?

Rainforests disappearing a hundred species every day

Some we’ll never see, for we wiped them clean away.

~~

What have we become that we feel we need to kill—

Everything around us, Is this Free Will?

I often shed a tear as I feel our Mother’s pain

For I know it’s now the time as she screams with wind and rain.

~~

It’s time that we were shaken to realize our mistakes

How we’ve pillaged, raped and stole and Take, take ,take

Never do we honour or give her back respect

We just take her life for granted, abuse her and neglect.

~~

Can we not see as we cut down all her trees?

We cut the very air that each of us do breathe.

What have we become as we kill for greed and power?

Our Mother now chastises in this our final hour

~~

Her anger is just beginning to make her presence felt

For mankind is just an insect, as we reap what we have dealt

Her sigh is now heaving on the Winds of discontent

As she reflects all of our Anger over the centuries we’ve sent.

~~

What have we become that we cannot begin to see?

We are destroying our Planet along with it you and me.

Harvesting Goodness

Harvest time is upon us as we reap from our gardens what we have sown. It’s wonderful to see something that you planted from a tiny seed that grows and matures to a full-grown crop.

And haven’t you ever just stopped to think for a moment about those seeds. Just how miraculous they are. Each seed so tiny, yet they know exactly how to grow. Each tiny cell splitting off to become a leaf, petal or fruit. Just as our human cells know which cells form toes and teeth.

Each plant perhaps relying on natures helping hand as the bees pollinate creating new seeds for next year’s seasons

Our Apples

Our Apples

Apples all 5 of them

Apples all 5 of them Smiles

I have so enjoyed this Summer. It started out life here in the UK as being one of the wettest June’s for a long while. It was very cool to start with. Yet despite the cold start Nature catches up. And even though our sweetcorn took 3 attempts to sow this year it too caught up and now we are harvesting the ripe corn cobs

Life is a little like planting. We get to harvest what we have sown.

I came across a wonderful post from Erika today whose own post was about the seeds we sow in Life.. in her post here entitled  The Challenge of Growth

How true too about those seeds as Erika  describes them to break down and collapse before they open and bring forth their new growth. I invite you to go read her excellent thoughts on how we ourselves grow through our challenges.

Corn tastle gone to seed Not all can mature perfectly.

Corn gone to seed Not all can mature perfectly.

As I view the world today I see many of our old ways now collapsing, they have to if we are to change.

Everything comes in cycles, Day follows Night, Seasons Change. We look back through history and see how our world has gone through its different ages. It seems we are now in the technological age. One at the moment I seem to in conflict with, big smiles as it seems me and technology are not getting on as well of late.

Not everything in our garden’s can be rosy all the time and in full bloom. But with Love and attention to what is important in our lives as we give our attention to the things which matter. We then reap that which we sow

Begonias in tubs large and small in our front garden.

Begonias in tubs large and small in our front garden.

I ask myself why is that me and techology seem in conflict right now – Could it be the Universe is wanting my attention elsewhere?   I have got much thinking to do at the moment and choices to make.  But I know what ever choice I make, it will be Ok, for there are no right or wrong roads, for all roads lead us to our destinations. It’s just sometimes we can detour off the path and for some they can become lost amid the jungle of choices that in this digital age can distract us from the true seeds we need to sow. Which often are the most basic.

To Care and Share.

We may have forgotten some of  the things that really matter in our lives. As the distractions of this material world have never been greater as they grab our attention and steel our energies and lower our vibrations.

I invite all of you who may be feeling of a low ebb and stressed out with the world right now to reconnect with your inner seed. The one that beats life into you day in and day out. Go into the HEART of Nature and start to listen to your own Heart.

It is patiently waiting for you to understand that all you need do for it to grow and expand to the Light, is for you to nurture it with the best nutrient ever given to man.

LOVE!

Smiling among the Dahlia's.

Sending you huge armfuls of flowers filled with love and gratitude..

Switch Off! And Tune into Self!

I’m not hooked into T.V. soaps with Drama’s surreal

And I try to detach from the Media’s Squeal

I’m not attached at the hip to my Mobile Device

Like some who walk, looking up once or twice

Tranquil Corner of my garden

Tranquil Corner of my garden

I know too well all the pain some go through

And I’ve added my tears like the rest of you

I’m not helping the world if I wallow in gloom

So instead I create to help my world bloom

Seeds

Seeds and allotment plan

I plant and I sow and reap what I give

Sharing and caring is how we should live

If we see all the horrors of violence and greed

Maybe it’s because our attention is focused on these

Planted with Love

Planted with Love

If we planted more Kindness instead of mistrust

And put people first before the possessions we lust

Appreciate the NOW, and Let go of FEAR

Stop judging each other, and hold ALL life dear

Preparing the greenhouse ready for planting

Preparing the greenhouse ready for planting

Instead we’re conditioned by the Ads and the Apps

To purchase- Things- as in debt more collapse

A virtual world, we are hooked and controlled

Another statistic, we’re boxed in as we scroll

Spring Bulbs opening to the Sun

Spring Bulbs opening to the Sun

So if I go missing from time to time

It’s because I’m enjoying this life of mine

So go on now, look up, and switch off your Device

And Embrace your loved ones and start living-Life!

How do you view the Future?

Eye Can See The World Different View Clip ArtThis morning I had two little old ladies come knocking on my door.. They cheerfully greeted me, holding out their pamphlet out to me.  We  politely engaged in a religious conversation for 10 minutes. After we exchanged views upon the state of our world and I agreed in the power of prayer..  I took their small pamphlet and they smilingly went to knock upon my neighbours door.

The Pamphlet’s headlines said

“ How do you view the World?”.. Will our World

  • Stay the same?
  • Get worse?
  • Get Better?

and it’s title fitted into my thoughts perfectly  as I had been wondering how to start a post I had been pondering on during the night. You could say it was ‘Heaven sent’

Because How do we view our world?

What influences our thoughts, into beliefs?

What shapes our ideas of the world more than anything else?

The Media for one, and our upbringing and cultures also influence the way we think..  But our Main stream news, keeps us informed, or so we think!.. It may interest us to learn it can also omit and twist facts that suit.

The theme for this post started for this week when I visited my Friends Blog World Metamorphosis   Vision Keeper, whose post Here made it refreshingly clear how our mainstream news reporters were not always telling it like it is.. I say refreshingly, because at last individuals are waking up and daring to put them selves out there to expose what has been happening via our main stream news.

This was backed up again when Paul over at Learning from Dogs  posted this article entitled Indonesia – another example of kakistocracy? I was pleased Paul provided the explanation of what the word Kakistocracy meant.. Meaning “government by the worst persons; a form of government in which the worst persons are in power.”

Paul featured an article written by George Monbiot who writes for The Guardian whose article in full can be read HERE  as he slates his own reporting profession saying as I take a quote from Pauls post as he had permission to republish..

“By George Monbiot,  article entitled

Indonesia is burning. So why is the world looking away?

published in the Guardian 30th October 2015. where he writes …

I’ve often wondered how the media would respond when eco-apocalypse struck. I pictured the news programmes producing brief, sensational reports, while failing to explain why it was happening or how it might be stopped. Then they would ask their financial correspondents how the disaster affected share prices, before turning to the sport. As you can probably tell, I don’t have an ocean of faith in the industry for which I work.

What I did not expect was that they would ignore it.

A great tract of the Earth is on fire. It looks as you might imagine hell to be. The air has turned ochre: visibility in some cities has been reduced to 30 metres. Children are being prepared for evacuation in warships; already some have choked to death. Species are going up in smoke at an untold rate. It is almost certainly the greatest environmental disaster of the 21st Century – so far.”

While I knew there had been fires in Indonesia, I had not known to the extent those fires raged, or the levels of death and destruction that is literally suffocating whole communities, So please go and read the report and Paul’s post in full.. It is devastating. And while this happens the Media’s headlines are on Football, and the  James Bond Film..

On a Good Note how ever about the environment, I read over on Lois’s blog the Eco Grandma on her Good News Monday Post  that President Obama has rejected the Keystone XL tar sands pipeline,  now that has got to be good news, and isn’t it great when you see synchronicity working yet again I clicked the link to Earth Baby’s Website  and read her article on  Religious Leaders Call for Climate Justice   And to round off this theme nicely, As I opened my emails this morning I was delighted to find another one confirming the Good news from the Keystone XL Tar sands pipeline.. Although I live in the UK.. I am passionate about our environment, and the link that came with that news update shares with us another important date we can all help by adding our voice to this petition when world leaders meet in Paris in December later this year  all it requires is a click..

What amazed me was that while I lay awake last night thinking of Pauls Post.. Just how today all of these links came in and all in one way or another were related..

We are ALL of us responsible for our environment…

We are ONE

So…..

“ How do you view the World?”.. Will our World

  • Stay the same?
  • Get worse?
  • Get Better?

THE WORLD IS IN ALL OF OUR HANDS

Sue

As a footnote.. I just wish to thank all of you for your support and welcome new subscribers to my blog.. While this post is looking at the serious side of our environmental issues, we each can all do our part in helping heal our own piece of it..

Each of us CAN make a Difference  in looking after Nature and our Environment where we live..  We owe it to our Grandchildren .. It is not someone else’s problem  But Ours..

We are ONE
