Herbs and Healing
Under Construction ! But please still feel free to explore the sub-pages being added.
We return thanks to our mother, the earth, which sustains us. We return thanks to the rivers and streams, which supply us with water. We return thanks to all herbs, which furnish medicines for the cure of our diseases. We return thanks to the moon and stars, which have given to us their light when the sun was gone. We return thanks to the sun that has looked upon the earth with a beneficent eye. Lastly, we return thanks to the Great Spirit, in whom is embodied all goodness, and Who directs all things for the good of Her children.

Yin and Yang
The following Remedies are based upon the Yin and Yang Energies related to in Chinese Medicine. This Energy is thought to manifest in different concentrations in the Spirit. ~ Spirit, Mind and Body. The Spiritual Being, being the SELF. Which connects us to the Whole Universe. Next came the slightly denser levels the emotions and the Mind.. And finally at the bottom of the scale was the Material World, including the physical body and all its organs which were considered to be the densest expression of energy.
While the Western World view these aspects as separate, in the Eastern world they were considered as different manifestations of the same thing. Energy.
The Chinese went on to link each major organ of the body with an emotion and so imbalances of energy effect different organs and parts of the body causing illness within the physical body.
This philosophy has existed for thousands of years, is now being rediscovered in modern holistic medicine in which the WHOLE person is treated, not just the body.
Energy is forever in motion, moving, it is not static, and in order to move it needs two poles as in the positive and negative connections in electricity, so that it can flow from one point to another. The Chinese called this The YIN and YANG.
All aspects of Life can be defined as Yin and Yang. Some examples of Yin and Yang
Yin Yang
- Cool/cold Warm/hot
- Receptive Active
- Dark Bright
- Winter Summer
- Internal External
- Earth Sky
- Soft Hard
- Flexible Rigid
- Moist Dry
- Regeneration Expansion
- Rest Activity.
Both Yin and Yang are interdependent and both equally as important. Just as if there was only winter ,nothing would grow. If there were only summer also, plants would scorch and burn. Yin transforms itself into Yang and vice versa, just as the seasons and day from night changes .. Both aspects are equally as important. For an example without enough Yin energy the body becomes dry, and maybe restless and barren. A person who has more Yin, in a healthy way can be jovial, relaxed, sympathetic and receptive. Excess of either Yin or Yang can be harmful, the ideal is to have the two balanced which is where we get the symbol of the Yin and Yang with the entwined circles one black and one while… .. I will try to go along and explain more with each Herb and or Remedies.

Hey Dreamwalker! Is this where you will be posting about growing your own food and herbs? I may have made it here before your firist post. Am looking forward to seeing what you add here. I ate some good strawberries today. Organic and local. They were yummy. We put them in oatmeal and had bananas too. See you in your garden…
Hugs and Love,
Michelle.

Hope you are well as I write. Big Hugs and Love,

Hi Sue, I remain perplexed at how “modern medicine” can think it is possible to “cure” a person by dealing (often aggressively) with their symptoms, without taking into account the energetic component of any illness, namely emotional/mental and spiritual factors. I am a great fan of Chinese medicine and other herbal remedies. I find it to be very empowering, and yet humbling, to return to Mother Nature when I am in need of healing. I much enjoyed reading the pages you wrote on Sage and Cinnamon/Honey. Thanks for sharing this important knowledge. Love & blessings, Sam 🙂

Dear Sam,
I so thank you for taking the time to browse, and I so agree with you… Modern day medicine was not able to help the pain or fatigue of a condition I had several years ago now.. Fibromyalgia .. except to offer strong pain killers and anti inflammatory drugs which I did take for a time only to have them cause a stomach ulcer.. Which most modern chemicals drugs will help alleviate one symptom then cause another and before you know it one pill then multiplies to 5 to counteract side effects..
So I sought alternatives.. And found Qi-Gong Very beneficial in my healing and Acupuncture I still have at regular intervals to help maintain balance within my bodies system..
I studied for a time also ‘Body Talk’. But believe that our Minds over Matter hold a great Key to unlocking our own healing abilities..
Fresh home grown foods which we grow, and I use only herbal remedies where ever possible.
Your visit to these pages has made me realise I should update and add more information upon Herbal healing to my blog…
Many thanks again for your lovely feedback.. I very much appreciate it Sam..
Love and Blessings
Sue ❤

Very interesting feedback, Sue. Many thanks. I’ve also experienced health situations that could not be rectified by allopathic medicine, but which were resolved when I used natural/vibrational/energetic means.I also believe in the importance of using “Mind over Matter” as a critical element of any health regime. Love & blessings, Sam 🙂

I posted on Facebook the other day (are you on Facebook? if so, please look me up and hit that friend button) that I have never had to buy prescription drugs. Some people couldn’t believe it…how is that possible…and yes, a part of it is luck, but a part of it is a philosophy which includes staying active, accepting love into my life, having a positive attitude, and believing in the power of things like herbs and alternative methods of fostering good health.
Have a brilliant weekend!

Good for you Bill.. and like you I intend to keep off prescription drugs too.. I was on Anti-Inflammatory drugs at one time, and prior to that Anti Depressants Until I saw the ‘Light’ lol.. Now I am not taking any medication. I am 100% better, and turn to Acupuncture to help with my muscle pain and well being once a month. I swear by it..
Sorry Bill, I am not on FB, and never have been and will not be in the future.. Thank you for browsing my herbs and healing pages.. I should publish more of these, but its just finding the time.. 🙂
You too, Have a great Sunday 🙂 And thank you
