How Time Is Flying!

 TIME

Our lives are ruled by the hands on a clock.

Slowly moving forward with a tick that never stops.

Displaying the time, as we rush here and there.

With never a minute left over to spare.

The minute we are born, our weight and time recorded.

One year later, arrives our Birthday date as ordered.

When we are young and unaware of time.

The days seamed longer, the weather seamed more fine.

Nothing seamed to matter, but the content of your day.

Playing and laughing, having fun was the way.

Just when did time take over? Take control.

Was it in the schoolyard, when the bell tolls?

Time is a condition that man has worked out.

We wake up in the morning to a bell or a shout.

But have we lost something special in time along the way.

We’ve no time to listen, or give the time of day-

To someone who might need just a minute of your time.

One kind word is all it takes to make a person shine.

Time marches onward and soon we are old and grey.

As we look back in our memories, regrets before us lay.

Don’t let it be too late to put right all the wrongs.

And don’t harbour bitter grudges, let harmony be your song.

For time creeps on, and might catch you unawares.

Then you’ll wish the time you had were more lovingly prepared.

For God gave you this time, to use for love always.

Use it wisely and you will find contentment all your days.

The Above Poem I wrote in 2007. Time is all about perception.. Sometimes an hour can fly in a matter of minutes, while sometimes a minutes may seem to last an hour..
What ever you are doing this weekend,
Enjoy your Time..
And remember the Only Time we Live is in the NOW of this Moment..
We can not live in the Past or worry about the Future
Use your Time Wisely
And Be good to One another

Perhaps viewing time as it simply is and we are, Sue, versus “Just when did time take over. Take control?” 🙂 A lovely poem!

I’ve always thought it was very unfair that time flies fastest when you’re having fun, and slowest when you’re not.

But then I cheer myself up by remembering what Groucho didn’t say: fruit flies like an arrow; time flies like a banana 😀

Wonderful Sue. I agree that we’ve been given time to give and share love, healing and wisdom. It takes patience to stop, listen, look, feel and respond. Some people seem to be afraid to stop even to notice the sun shining, it’s sad. 🙂

Very profound thoughts…the power of time and how its fly as we grow or as we find ourselves occupied in work of passion…when we are depressed, it appears to go very slowly, when we are in joy it moves fast…the present, the moment matters, yes, we should cherish every moment of our life…time stops for none…the ticking of clock is such a defining sound, if we pause and reflect we understand the power of that little sound…wonderfully written poetry…

Thank you Nihar.. in my earlier working career Time played a huge part in my life. I started out life working in a factory on sewing machines in textiles.. Time was Piece work.. so the faster you managed to sew something, the more money I took home in my pay packet at the end of the week..
Later on I studied Time and Motion, in Garment Data Methods and would stand with stop-watch in hand.. 🙂 Working for 30 yrs in Factories even when I had climbed the ladder within them. It was like being let out of prison to greet the natural day light and feel the Sun on ones face..
We do not see how automated we are, as we move to the sound of that Tick Tock of Work.. 🙂

Yes, you are so right when we are into our mechanical work and inside the factory or the company…we get disconnected from the nature. The time doesn’t move at the pace we want it to be, we feel stagnated and stuck to one place and one type of work, though we grow on our career and also start doing different things as we proceed…but in essence it remains static and small change in the overall perspective…

Life is more than one work or one place and we have one life to do so many things and it is art to juggle with multiple things in life…time plays it part.

The purpose of time is to determine if something is happening. If absolutely nothing is happening, then time is unnecessary.

    OR
If absolutely nothing is happening, time is standing still.

It is said that written words never die and certainly certain words need repeating to remind us of what we may have forgotten or just need a gentle reminder of. We humans invented time and we should, as you say Sue, use it wisely. Love, David

Isn’t it amazing how gullible we all were to fall for time and in doing so be chained to a regimented life being slaves? Boy we sure were comatose when we fell to earth. There is far more happiness in life when one is not driven to be aware of time. They are allowed to be carefree and and enjoy their life doing whatever it is they choose to do. Once awakened, we see so clearly the traps we have been pulled into! The real trick lies in getting oneself free again 🙂 Have a great weekend my friend. Toss that wrist watch and dance! Much love…VK ❤

Always consider this ‘time’ we spend together a blessed moment. The physical distant shrinks and we can touch each other through the magic of language and communication and ‘time’ disappears, even if but for a moment.

Oh my goodness, how serendipitous. AS I sat down to my computer Iw as thinking how worked up I can get in the mornings about ALL the things I have to do in a day. I often practice the affirmation, “I have all the time I need to do all the things I need to do”. Yet still, as a creative, inspired, passionate working & busy mom of two, I struggle to see how I can ALL the things done that I want to do. Some days I relax and see how the flow of life has a way of taking care of that better then I ever could….yet still I struggle. Thank you for this beautiful poem. In my opinion, you absolutely tapped into one of the core issues with our way of life. Love to you sweet Sue and thank you, thank you, thank you.

Lovely to just catch your comment on line here Lisa.. And you said it within your reply.. If we trust in the flow and relax and let go of worrying about how we can fit everything in.. It just all slots into place..
I remember well being a working Mum of two young children.. Cooking meals to freeze and Bake at the weekends, Shop, Clean Wash and Iron and then go to work for a 40 hour week.. We juggle many things all at once and at times it can get overwhelming..

Would That I knew then what I know now..
Many thanks Lisa for your lovely comment ❤

Hi Sue!! Oh yes…just perfect for me. When you are in crisis mode you do not consider time…you truly live in the moment because you are wondering how you will make it to the next one! I am faced with a huge decision right now that makes sense in this moment…but may not a few years from now. I know that a few years from now may not even exist and so if I live in this moment and trust, then I won’t have that nagging feeling of doubt about a future that may not exist! Wishing you many blessings Sue…much love ❤

Very well said Sue. I’ve been pondering time in the past few weeks and the reason that some of us are given more than others. I don’t want to waste the time I was given. Nor take advantage of any moment in time. I love visiting your blog, you often share jewels of thought.

I decided years ago that I wasn’t going to worry about time. Time is going to march on no matter how much I worry about it so I chose to start enjoying my life to the max and appreciating it. I am so grateful, and thankful that I have made it to half a century intact and with very little peripheral damage. Life is amazing and we are here to document that awesomeness. Lets all stop paying homage to small things and go hunting for the beauty, the precious essence and the special moments in the everyday 🙂

And you have rightly said “remember the Only Time we Live is in the NOW of this Moment”. Now that I feel is the only true relationship between the mind and the moment and the key to health and happiness.

For me in the Army time was a concept of punctuality and discipline whereas now time is a resource to be savored and enjoyed. 🙂

Each of us, carries within us the capacity to change the world in small ways for better or worse. Everything we do and think affects the people in our lives, and their reactions in turn affect others As the effect of a seemingly insignificant word passes from person to person, its impact grows and can become a source of great joy, inspiration, anxiety, or pain. Your thoughts and actions are like stones dropped into still waters, causing ripples to spread and expand as they move outward.. I hope that I can send a few ripples out via the web of life, as we each of us weave the threads together... Welcome to my Sanctuary of Peace and Love... May we each spread our Lights around our World....Sue Dreamwalker
