A Silent Conversation

Listening to the silence of my mind I wake

I strain my ears listening in the dark the night sounds make

A voice speaks but forms no words

For inside my mind only the echoes are heard

I answer as a question I begin to pose

“Who am I do you suppose?”

“I am I, said the voice

“the one you speak to when you make your choice “

“No” I said, “ For I am Me–

I am the one I choose and see”

“That’s what you think” the voice spoke back

“ I’m the one who keeps you on track”

“Rubbish!” said I “For there can only be one I”

“So you think!” the voice replied

“Prove it”said I now getting riled

“Don’t speak to me, I’m not a child”

“Oh No! a child you’re not–

but I’m the voice who calls the shots”

“I tell you again I am ME!”

I listen again and sure enough the voice shouts back

“I Disagree–

For we are One both you and Me”

I shout back “ No I Disagree”

“Prove it” says the voice

This time I say “I have the choice-

Why do we argue all the time?

The voice is silent, no longer clear

I listen as the silence echo’s in my ear

“Hello! where have you gone?-

Its lonely being just the one-

Please don’t go I need a friend

I need the answers that you send”

“Oh so you need me now-

You need to listen and I’ll tell you how-

This conversation back and forth-

Has been with you right from birth

I’m always with you by your side –

But often you push my voice aside

Our battle of wills often take place

And often I’ll be your saving grace.

I am You and You are Me

I am your Conscience don’t you see?

I’ll say No when you say Yes

I’m always here, you don’t have to second guess

You can listen or turn a deaf ear

But I will always prick your Conscience Dear……

“I know”

Great one DW…Love your thought process. Conscience is an amazing room mate that always tags along behind us, watching. Always watching and always talking…I hope when we get to 5D for good all this silliness ends and we just are as we are. An interesting day here. I can’t bear to hear who wins the election…Then again I will be so thankful when it is over and all this chatter has silenced itself. Peace again. Be well and keep on glowing….VK

VK, thank you, yes I see how interesting, forgone conclusions and usual hype as with most elections … I hope we become just who we are also VK ….. We have here in the UK been so caught up within its drama…. well the media has… LOL… as for a Dreamwalker, She lives her own Dream within her mind, and if we would all but realise its each individual that needs to start to Create that Dream… Not a political party.. we Do then have HOPE for the future.. Here’s to your Peace again VK……….. Blessings DW xx

Sue, that sounds like a conversation I have very often with myself!
Deciding whether to listen or not to that inner voice… now there’s a question! I’d never get anything done if I listened to all of the Inner Voices I’m coming up with 😉 !
    Love the poem!

Yes Tom, I know but those voices come at least to me, when I know I should be listening to them.. and its only when I have ignored them that I get that inevitable ” I told you so”….. ….. !!

Love it! The Conscience can be a scary thing. Intimidating because of how wise, pure and unafraid of the shitty, shitty call it is. True peace comes from accepting that the Conscience doesn’t care what’s easy or popular, only what’s right.

What a wonderful poem Sue! it’s so very true that we argue and disagree with that voice inside…..and when we do, we stray off our Path, and end up lost and confused…..until the voice inside tells us how silly we’ve been, and we finally give in to its Wisdom. 🙂 Thank you my friend.
    Much love and (((hugs))) xox

‘I’ have been thinking, since Tiny was diagnosed with cancer, that what doesn’t change is what is important. The rest is not real. The one who we are is real. That voice that changes, and tells us one thing or another, is always changing. I do get confused as to which one stays the same and which one changes. Tiny is teaching.

Thank you for this beautiful poem.
    xoxo Big Hugs and Love,
    Michelle.

Hi Michelle, sending to you and Tiny, Yes that Inner Voice at times we dont want to listen to.. but its mostly right if we really listen to what is being said.. Trusting in it, is the hard thing… for often it will tell us what we already know.. but will not admit to..
Giving you a big Hug back Michelle… xxx Sue xx

I usually post using Windows Live Writer, I find that enables me to use more fonts etc and its easier to post photos and videos that way.. Have you tried connecting to that.. I can recommend it..
I hope your gremlins soon get sorted Sheila… xxxx

What we believe is the way forward, quite often conflicts with what our conscience tells us.

A leaf fell from the Peace lily that resides next to the tv, it came to rest on the floor.
But It did not insult any of my senses, it was not causing any problem. So I left it there for just over a week and watched it turn from pale green to brown. All week my conscience was telling me to pick up the leaf, as that is what a normal person would do. But I had witnessed the birth if you like of that leaf, I had seen it grow, open and saw it sway in the rippling air that was caused by me opening a door.
When I finally picked the leaf up and cremated it on the fire. I felt I was saying goodbye to an old friend.
I had battled with my conscience was torn between my heart and my head. I struggled with my loyalty to the leaf and the right and proper thing to do, witch was to pick the leaf up so the house would look tidier . It happens all the time, some may say that I am just plain lazy. I say it is my choice.
    be well Sue
I am away now to give myself a good talking to 🙂 x

Hi Kenny, nothing wrong in that Kenny, in fact I think it quite a compliment to the plant that you honoured its departing leaf in such a manner Kenny.. Would that we could honour Mother Nature as a whole as well as that my friend…
Yes we battle with our consciences many a time as we follow what has been implanted within as to what we should do, who to follow, and what appears to be the normal things to do..as we have long been conditioned to what is acceptable behaviours or not..
When we step out of that norm. we are often afraid of ridicule and embarrassed by what others may think of us.. Stepping out of that mode of thinking can cause conflicts again with that inner voice. Its often when in reflective mood and in those silent pauses that we unravel the mysteries of the art of truly listening to ourselves.. and not the voice which speaks for everyone else.
I hope that good talking did you both a power of good Kenny.. 🙂 and Thank you for dropping by my friend .. Sue

A wonderful write, Sue, and “spot on” as they say. You have a way with words in this one for sure. Oh! just to let you know since you have sent such positive energy my way. My oldest daughter has her surgery yesterday to remove three surgical clips left in by a surgeon some 14yrs ago and is doing well. and it turns out that these little buggers are made out of stainless steel and a mix of other aloids, among them nickel, which she is allergic to.We are hoping her health will improve now and she will be in less pain. They were in her groin and touching nerves and whatnot. She never knew they were there until an xray revealed them recently. Blessings to you and thank you so much for all of your thoughts for myself and my daughter.

Actually, the surgeon up and disappeared 8yrs ago and no one knows what happened to him so my daughter has decided to let go and try to get on with her life. I think it best. Unfortunately there are many people who have had surgical tools, even, left inside them after a surgery. I never would have thought it would be someone so close to me. Hugs to you as well, Sue.

Thank you Sue! She has told me that although there is permanent nerve damage and that pain will remain that her inflammation that she had is gone done alot and that in itself is good. Now we will see how much she does improve over the long term. But all in all she sounds great! XXX

This did just that Noeleen, as do most of my poems, in fact I wrote this poem in total darkness, as we had moved rooms due to decorating and I had no side lamp but always take a journal and pen or pencil to bed 🙂 I awoke and wrote about 3 or four lines per page, in Pencil and wrote as the words came… I looked back in the morning to see the lines sloped but I could read all I had written, this was the result.. 🙂

Each of us, carries within us the capacity to change the world in small ways for better or worse. Everything we do and think affects the people in our lives, and their reactions in turn affect others As the effect of a seemingly insignificant word passes from person to person, its impact grows and can become a source of great joy, inspiration, anxiety, or pain. Your thoughts and actions are like stones dropped into still waters, causing ripples to spread and expand as they move outward.. I hope that I can send a few ripples out via the web of life, as we each of us weave the threads together... Welcome to my Sanctuary of Peace and Love... May we each spread our Lights around our World....Sue Dreamwalker
