The Way.

The Way

Scotland 2016

“Where am I going?” the traveller said

As he stepped on the stones of Rivers Bed

“How far is my destination?”

As he continued on in procrastination

~~

“Which way leads home, how do I choose,

I am lost and afraid and quite bemused”.

“How long will it take for me to get there?

Have you got directions that you may share”?

~~

‘Welcome dear traveller as you join my road

Rest a while and set down your load

Too long have you carried your burdens

Replenish yourself and rest in my garden’

The weary traveller did as he was bade

Realising how long he had been a salve

In carrying guilt, and burdens so dark

He off loaded his emotions from out of his heart

~~

One by one he emptied them out

Laying them bare, he let out a shout

Seeing how each had weighed him down

He lifted his head, and no longer frowned

A trail over Derbyshire moorland.

“Thank you, my friend, for making me see

The Way that I trod was created by me

There are many paths but only One Way

And it took me so long in karma to pay

~~

But now that I see, The Way you have shown

My Spirit is cleansed, and Lighter I have grown

I honour my path and others on their walk

For we each chose our Light and our own dark

Each Prism a dance of love

“No Path is wrong, they just detour and steer

To learn deeper lessons, I see that quite clear

I may be torn and battered, my scars tell a tale

But no one upon the path will ever fail

~~

The traveller rose, giving thanks for his rest

One foot before the other, just doing his best

Life is beautiful when you see perfection in all things

The way is through the heart, open yours, let love sing.

The poem I wrote last week, and the above photo’s are ones I have previously shared here on my posts. You may have noted I have not been as active in the last last week here on WordPress, this is because I have been busy creating. I swapped my keyboard clicking, for the clicking of needles.. So until I have finished my latest project.. I may be a while in catching up with some of your posts..

Sometimes we have to follow our own particular roads, and at times I need to find that creative space and become the weaving woman.. It stills my mind, And each stitch, each step we take is creating The Way..

Learn to follow your own hearts, open them up to your own creativity, bring that Joy back into your lives, doing what You love doing..  Have a wonderful rest of the week and I will see you in a click or two..

This is very moving, Sue! Our backpack we pack ourselves and the path we choose to walk with it. You gave us such a wonderful picture to understand better that we are also able to unpack it all again.
We need a rest at times when the load gets too heavy. Sometimes that rest is given by our bodies and it gives us the opportunity to realize that it has been us who added load and that it is us again to lay it down.
    Wow, so beautiful, Sue 💖

Great poem DW….I wish it were so easy to just take the ‘heavies’ out of our pocket and drop them on the path behind us….But alas, it proves to be far more difficult. I fell into the new age trap years ago of believing you can do whatever you want. Not so. I beat myself up for years because i didn’t do what I needed to do. Finally I came around and realized that we all have limitations. It is all about trying our very best at all times not so much about what we do or don’t do….Listening to our hearts and souls and what they need to have to thrive is enough work for all of us to focus on…
    Blessings to you dear friend….Much love….VK ❤

Haha.. Yes.. I know dear dear Debby… I am in the process of sorting out my poems.. that is as far as it has got, as the knitting bug bit.. But I so thank you for your encouraging me yet again to get a move on.. A friend of mine whom I connected with, in my Spiritual circles wrote a poetry book with Lulu, it cost her quite a lot.. So I am looking at options as to how to go about self publishing with out it costing an arm and a leg.. lol.. ❤ As i doubt a publishing company would be interested in poems..
Many thanks for your wonderful feed back.. It is very much appreciated.. xxx ❤

Great start Sue, you’re thinking about it. Well most of us learn how to publish through the process, but as it’s unlikely to produce a book with no cost involved, you could hire out the formatting and book cover like I do, as I have no interest in learning how to format lol. And our friend Sally Cronin’s husband has an excellent reputation in the publishing for Indie authors at excellent prices. So food for thought. ❤

Food for thought indeed Debby.. And oh yes perfectly expect it to cost.. :-).. It has to be written first. lol so a long long way off. But yes a start has been made, until the knitting kicked in.. But I am settling in today to put a little more together.. Everything starts with the first step! 🙂 and I have put my shoes on.. 🙂 ❤ Big HUGS..

Brilliant thoughts Sue…they would resonate with each one of us as whatever path we take, questions keep cropping up, emotions mount and we forget to look within, expecting others to alleviate our pain and guide us towards the light that could enlighten our minds. I absolutely agree with your wise reflections… “we each chose our light and our own dark”…We often forget that choice lies with us – to perceive, to reflect, to introspect and understand that no path is perfect! Light beckons us if we are ready to follow it.
Thanks for sharing another beautiful poem. Stay blessed! Love and hugs.

Yes Balroop the choice to follow our pathways in which ever direction is always left up to our own free will.. Would that people realise that we are responsible for our own thoughts, actions and deeds.. Each road no matter how difficult has been carved our for us to follow, or take a detour.. Though that is difficult often for us to understand, given we see so many who are placed upon a rocky barren road.. Yet we do not see why they are there walking it.. We only look from our Human perspectives.. And not from our Higher-Selves..
Many thanks dear Balroop, I so appreciate your feedback my friend..

Great your poem and the accompanying symbolic images, dear Sue,you’ve put all your emotional intelligence and your insight.Long the way we have to travel to find the right direction, and many the unexamined “territories” in our labyrinthic souls.
There are moments when I feel that everything is predestined and other times that I can be the master of my life.Obviously,we have everything we need within us,but it takes time to develop our spiritual growth and understand the real purpose of our existence in this emphemeral world. So many simple, unnoticed things around us,so much beauty, there’s no need for overthinking.Stay happy and creative, dear friend 🙂 Off now,to put into practice my theories … ❤ xxx

I think at times everything is predestined Doda, in the fact that it is up to our choices, our life’s path we have set in motion in order for us to learn that which we came to accomplish.. We can however get detoured, side-tracked and high-jacked if we allow ourselves to be so influenced.. Which is why it is important to re-connect with our hearts.
When we do that, listening within, taking time out in silent reflection, we begin to open our eyes to the beauty that was there all along, though we were too busy to notice it..
So appreciate your wise comment Doda.. and so happy you are in among us once again dear friend xxx LOVE to you. ❤

    ONLY FOR YOU

Do not bewail your fate at crossroads
Nor shirk the choice of either/or
But singing both/and search for the lost notes
The key to pick is neither/nor

Let us pray for the seasick sailor
    Stormswept, becalmed upon the sea
The hero’s bold venture doomed to failure
As Jonah also tried to flee

    Uncertainty made him a dancer
Who once had been so far from shore
And no single key can be the answer
Just as no road can be a door

The crossroads never have a signpost
The ship that sinks will reach no quay
The road is dark – devils take the hindmost
And Know Where is it plain to see

I do not write to give directions
The distance or the trials in store
These are the milestones of my acceptance
And they pretend to be no more

    “How far is my destination?”
As he continued on in procrastination…”

    Yes, *Deep Breath*
as I wander down my road these days, I
take my time, and so what if that’s just my procrastination!

Enjoy your clicking needles and your fabulous

“The Way”, a wonderful metaphor of life. Dear Sue you have so beautiful captured, it makes anyone who reads this post step back and reflect the journey of life taken so far and how one need to re-look at life the way one has been leading. There is a time in life where we need to sit back and assess the work we have done and the worries that we keep carrying on us and at what cost? We get so swayed by the fatigue of the journey and the urge to reach the destination that we miss out those little things on the way that makes journey itself more joyous than the destination.

We ignore our inner call or forget to talk to our inner self, and get mired within the complexity and cacophony of the world outside us, and in such time it is vital to take a journey and travel alone and see how the world is around us without our whims and fancies that keeps revolving around us and keeps us in disarray. So true no path is wrong, it is that we tend to take a detour and we stray and that’s how we discover newer things in life and many times we do so without fear and many times we are forced to do and then realize how much we have missed in our life not taking the path less traveled.

On our usual route many travels and we do so along with them and while doing so we need to talk to them and take them along with us and make every aspect of our journey purposeful in our life…beautifully captured pictures and they have so magically align with the profound thoughts that always comes with such lovely words of yours.

By the way today in India we have the Diwali celebration, the light and sound festival and there so much joy and sharing in this festival it makes the entire environment lift up but there is flip side to it and it is the aspect of air pollution that has been a deep cause of concern in recent time…

Wishing you dear Sue a very happy Diwali from India!!!

      Dear Nihar..
First my friend wishing you a very Happy Diwali my friend.. A wonderful festival celebration and I wish you so much joy..

You captured that need so well in your words, when you said

“We ignore our inner call or forget to talk to our inner self, and get mired within the complexity and cacophony of the world outside us, and in such time it is vital to take a journey and travel alone and see how the world is around us without our whims and fancies that keeps revolving around us and keeps us in disarray.”

This is so true, and often why I need to take time out for ME and to reconnect back with my Inner/Higher Self..

As always dear Nihar your comments are so insightful to be posts within themselves.. Maybe another idea for one of your own deep thinking posts my friend..
Wishing you a perfect weekend in the Light of Diwali..
      Blessings Sue 🙂

Indeed dear Sue, this post had layers of meaning and need to be interpreted with compassion, I had to dive deep inside to cherish every bit of it, and read few times to get the meat of the thought that has gone behind such a profound post.
We keep going and we keep walking, and life proceeds along aside and we are constantly on a state of motion and moving not knowing where we are going and how far we really want to go in our life, and then we realize that we have taken a wrong path to our destination.

Dear Sue thanks for such lovely perspective and looking to our next round of exchanged and engagement of thoughts and ideas, that keep pushing us to think deeper and wider on such brilliant topics.
        Have beautiful weekend…
        Peace and Happiness!!!

I know so well what it is to step away from technology and let the natural rhythms of creativity take over. I’ve come to view technology as a tool, but then sometimes one has to put that tool away in favor of a more natural one. I love this poem. I immediately thought of “The Way of St. James” when I started reading. I would like to walk that trail (it being in Europe, I gather you’ve heard of it, but if not, it goes from western France to western Spain. I first learned of it when I was 18 or 19 and have always wanted to walk it since. I’ve met people who have done it and they say it changed them.
But the story of a traveler – unloading those emotions. Travel somehow does this to us: allows us to unload and gain a fresh perspective.
I so love the way you put words together: they get into a rhythmic cadence and truly create beautiful imagery and a sense of mindful calm. Well done you! Sending you hugs and light! ❤

“No Path is wrong, they just detour and steer. To learn deeper lessons…” Beautifully penned, Sue. And perfect photos!

It may take a lifetime to realize what we did, how we did, why we did – and then the course correction. Just correct yourself – without worrying that it’s late – when you feel that tug at your heartstrings. Stab those guilt pangs – it’s never too late. And once gone deeper – bloom and blossom — there’s no u-turn.

Indeed – “the way is through the heart.”

    Thank you!

Dear Sue, Loved the poem and the pictures.
I find the crux of the poem in the line ‘The Way that I trod was created by me.’
Yes, ultimately, the path on which we walk is the one that we create for ourselves, not only as individuals, but also as a society, and as the whole of humanity. Our karma of thoughts and actions manifests in the form of our creations. Each path we create and tread offers us its own set of learnings. It is for us to read those signals, learn our lessons and mend our ways. Have a wonderful weekend, Love & Regards, Somali

Hi Sue!! What a beautiful ode to honor a path of enlightenment! ❤ It flows so wonderfully, full of the twists and turns in life that teach us all that we came here to learn! I can tell you are well and experiencing the beauty of creation. I have missed you and wanted to come visit, but life has been a bit challenging and I was so happy that when I posted today and looked at my reader…there you were!!
I'm excited to see photos of your finished project…hope you will share…yes? I have so many things that I am bubbling up with creativity to do, just not the time to actually get to them all. But I am trying to walk through each day, meeting the needs of my responsibility while trying to access my creativity…even if only a little bit.
Much love to you, dear Sue. I truly hope that you are SUPER!!! ❤ ❤

I apologize dear Sue…i’ve so much going on and I am also currently in treatment…so my attention and focus is not what I am used to (which is so hard to ACCEPT!) I did not see the link (does not surprise me…) but I am going back now to look! I am certain it is amazing because whatever we make from the depths of our soul has wonderful energy within it!!!
(And thank you for the mention of my time with the glass…i am wistful at times wondering where it would have gone to…but I also am at peace. I know I can revisit it in the future Blessings, Sue 💜💜

Each of us, carries within us the capacity to change the world in small ways for better or worse. Everything we do and think affects the people in our lives, and their reactions in turn affect others As the effect of a seemingly insignificant word passes from person to person, its impact grows and can become a source of great joy, inspiration, anxiety, or pain. Your thoughts and actions are like stones dropped into still waters, causing ripples to spread and expand as they move outward.. I hope that I can send a few ripples out via the web of life, as we each of us weave the threads together... Welcome to my Sanctuary of Peace and Love... May we each spread our Lights around our World....Sue Dreamwalker
