Christmas time is upon us once again, and the season of good will is supposed to abound…
And suddenly people spring into life as they remember the Christmas Spirit.
I often wonder as they quickly wish you a Merry Christmas greeting as they rush through the shopping Malls, do they really and truly understand that the true gifts are not the ones we buy, but they are the ones we take for granted each and every day.
Why is it we can’t hold onto that Spirit of Christmas all year round?
Why is it we have forgotten to GIVE,
Not the material gifts we buy with our currencies
But the gift that each of us carries Free,
The Gift that comes straight from our Hearts

As the warrior poet Archilochus once said, “We do not rise to the level of our expectations, we fall to the level of our training.” If we only make the effort to feel the Christmas spirit for a few days every year, then that’s the level we’ll fall too. If we hold on to that feeling every day though, then we’ll have that same cheer even in March, April, May….

What beautiful photographs that express much about Christmas, and the Spirit of it. To give is the center of everything, not just at Christmastime, as you say, but all year round. It is true the Spirit of Christmas seems to be lost anymore within the walls of the competitive market and motivated by profit. It makes me sad so I chose to change my ways…I give of myself.
