The Key

The Door to Happiness is unlocked only by yourself

And so the Sun shines catching the morning dew and the vapour rises in the early morning heat.

The World is quiet except for the beat of a heart that echoes the emptiness of a void trapped so long within the room.

She takes hold of the Key, holds it within her hand, she

feels the weight of it, and turning it within her fingers, over and over it turns.

She places it within the lock. Her heart now beats loudly in her ears, drumming

the rhythm of Life.

Again she feels the stirrings within as the butterfly flutters

making her close her eyes as she lets the sensation sweep through her.

Loudly her heart pounds beneath her breasts.

The Key is turned and the door to

her emotions finally opens.

The Door is heavy, but she pulls it back and stands on the

threshold, venturing out into a land where all things are possible.

She takes her first step through the opening feeling the radiance of the Light shine upon

her face. Her eyes close for a second in silent prayer, one of thankfulness,

that Fate once more had taken charge.

She takes the step, and feels the grass beneath her bare feet. Knowing that she holds within her hand a precious gift.

A gift given by one who also holds within their hands a duplicate Key.

Together they join in anticipation in unlocking the mysteries of life.

As she takes hold of her heart!.

I’m BACK

A surreal time and space – moments of oneness with the Universe, no difference between ‘reality’ and creation, letting go …powerful choices out of vulnerability and courage.

Just thinking aloud, the feelings that got stirred in me upon reading your post.

The way you wrote that conveyed the nervousness, curiosity, and insecurity of entering the own heart so well. But once we dared to turn that key and see the light there is no other way than entering… and we will never go back! 💖

Many do not dare turn the key and are comfortable living in that room but curiosity and adventure and determination and awake are those that turn the key to start their journey in a different direction no matter how hard it is for them to turn that key. Beautiful muse.

Love has stirred my insides like the hurricane shaking down the oaks. Did you come. You did good. I was waiting for you. You set fire to my heart, which burns with desire.

Hands across the world. Why do I say that? For I’m resting in a hotel room, with Jeannie I hasten to add, in Chicago yet feeling very connected to your world so far away brought very close by the images in your precious words.

Or put another, simpler way I love your poem! 😍

The metaphors and symbols that you using your poetry leave me and complete all. I’m literally coming over here after having written a rough first draft of a free verse poem that I felt compelled to write in light of all these hurricanes coming our way. I don’t have much symbolism, but coming over here, as I go over next drafts, I want to see how I can use metaphor and symbolisms and simile to guide my writing in the way that I hope will be as inspiring. You are a master poet, my friend. I love reading your words, because they’re a gift. They’re like a gift wrapped in Golden ribbon that when untied the box opens and out pour glorious words that fill my heart with the rays of gorgeous light. It’s so funny too, because I have been so compelled to write poetry the last couple days. I just really want to express myself in nonnormal language, and just let the words flow in stream of consciousness style. I’m feeling this huge need to let go and be really creative right now. I’m not sure how I will do that and fit in time for everything else, but I’m feeling it and I will find a way to honor it. Coming over here, I’m always reminded of how I always want to strive for beautiful balance. You are my example. 🙂 I love how you work in the garden, find time to write posts, comment, be present with your granddaughter, find time for family, and still create beautiful things. Oh, I could just fly over and HUG you! ❤ BEAUTIFUL imagery and metaphors here. Hmm…and writing this comment gives me an idea: I just need to go get silent for a while. Then I will know what to write. 🙂

Oh Cynthia, that has to be one of the most beautiful comments I have ever received 🙂

“You are a master poet, my friend. I love reading your words, because they’re a gift. They’re like a gift wrapped in Golden ribbon that when untied the box opens and out pour glorious words that fill my heart with the rays of gorgeous light.”

Wow! I am speechless… what a wonderful thing to say..
You do not give yourself enough credit Cynthia for your own amazing talents..
As for trying to write poetry, I don’t .. In the sense that I just allow the words to flow.. Don’t even stop to think about them.. And they come..

This particular piece I wrote some years ago and I have been sorting out my archives of poems, into some sort of order.. I think I want to create a book of poems before my ‘Other Story’ to see how I first go about Self publishing.. Many have themes, which were written at various times throughout my life.. Depending on my outlook on life.. As I went through a very ‘Dark Night of the Soul’ type of time, which many do as they start to wake up, I often think it is what brings us into the Light.. Having known the dark.. For we cannot know one without the other..
But such periods are learning curves we go through as we take our steps up through the vibrations.. And learning to peel away the layers of debris we carry, and putting words on paper, acted for me as a tool to letting go of all of those emotions we carry..
This was one particular time.. As I finally let something go, and reached deep within to listen to what my heart was telling me instead of my head..
Again thank you so much for your support and kindness.. Your own journey is going to get to be so amazing, as your intention is manifesting All that you set out to accomplish and then some..
      Love and Blessings
      Sue xx ❤

There is no turning back and we shouldn’t. Amazing poem, and like you’re saying “having seen the darkness” allows getting closer to light, or otherwise we wouldn’t know the difference.
It is very interesting here in Latvia right now: they move away from global and take care of their soul space by turning off phones and other screens, and focus on good things that help everybody. I have read about 300 amazing articles, and I like how this is very different from North America and the goals people are setting for themselves over there. It is certainly not a wasted time. Soon going home.

What a lovely poem of self-realisation and taking the plunge. As the others have said, there is no turning back when we have done so, and who knows what is there to discover. I also really like that photo you shared. It took me down memory lane, for that is the album cover for the rock/metal band Evanescence’s second album The Open Door 🙂

Dear Laura, I am delighted you have been browsing my blog this evening. and even more so that something shifted within you to move you to tears..
I think sometimes we all of us come to a point where we unlock another door to our deep inbuilt emotions. Allowing as we turn the key to open our hearts to ourselves, to love and nurture the beauty within which we have always been is often the last door we come to open.
But when we do, and we step through it. all be it with tears and thankfulness, we have taken another step into the light of Oneness..
Sending my love and I am honoured Laura that this was perfect timing for you xx 💚🧡💛

Each of us, carries within us the capacity to change the world in small ways for better or worse. Everything we do and think affects the people in our lives, and their reactions in turn affect others As the effect of a seemingly insignificant word passes from person to person, its impact grows and can become a source of great joy, inspiration, anxiety, or pain. Your thoughts and actions are like stones dropped into still waters, causing ripples to spread and expand as they move outward.. I hope that I can send a few ripples out via the web of life, as we each of us weave the threads together... Welcome to my Sanctuary of Peace and Love...
