The Damage We Do…

This post is scheduled and I resurrected an old poem as I watched today  Wednesday how the weather is lashing back.. My thoughts are with all of you and those of you who have been battered by the resent storms.

I see how devastating the storm of Hurricane Matthew has swept through.  My thoughts go to those in the Bahamas and Cuba and to the people of Haiti whose flimsy homes have been blown and washed away..

To my USA friends stay safe if  you are in the path of this storm..

A poem I wrote below reflects how badly we have treated our Earth Mother in the Past..  And I can not help but feel our Earth’s Mothers heart as she lashes her breath to wake us all up to her power..

What Have We Become?

What have we become that we cannot begin to see?

The Damage that we’ve done to our Ocean land and Trees,

We belch out pollution, pumping veins in Mother Earth

Spewing out our poisons that pollute around her girth

~~

Her Ocean floors we’ve blackened, turning all to red,

And blood is on our hands as our sea-life is now dead

What have we become that we cannot begin to see?

The damage with we do which affects both you and me

~~

The aerosols we spray like the Chemtrails across our sky

Leave a trail of poison and no one is asking Why?

Rainforests disappearing a hundred species every day

Some we’ll never see, for we wiped them clean away.

~~

What have we become that we feel we need to kill—

Everything around us, Is this Free Will?

I often shed a tear as I feel our Mother’s pain

For I know it’s now the time as she screams with wind and rain.

~~

It’s time that we were shaken to realize our mistakes

How we’ve pillaged, raped and stole and Take, take ,take

Never do we honour or give her back respect

We just take her life for granted, abuse her and neglect.

~~

Can we not see as we cut down all her trees?

We cut the very air that each of us do breathe.

What have we become as we kill for greed and power?

Our Mother now chastises in this our final hour

~~

Her anger is just beginning to make her presence felt

For mankind is just an insect, as we reap what we have dealt

Her sigh is now heaving on the Winds of discontent

As she reflects all of our Anger over the centuries we’ve sent.

~~

What have we become that we cannot begin to see?

We are destroying our Planet along with it you and me.

Well said, and I share your concerns an distress. Some awaken easily, some need nudges and some may never comprehend that our actions come back to bite us, an when our earth Mother resorts to biting, it’s not pretty.

    Thank you for this,

Thank you Superduque and Sarita, while I so understand the weather Manipulations through HAARP the ‘We’ stands for all of us who pollute and who disregard Nature.. It is the human race whose consumer habits have to change.. And it is the human race who hunt elephants and tigers to extinction.. It is our habits which create greed so that deforestation takes place while Orangutans and other species are driven out to the point of their extinction.. It is We in our greed for cheaper goods push industry to cut corners, who pollute the rivers and oceans with their manufactured waste.. It is We who do not see, It is WE who in the end have to take responsibility for all of our actions… HAARP is only part of the problem to which my poem addresses..
I thank you for your most welcome comment Sarita/Superduque
      Many thanks.. Sue

Hi Sue, I’m just quickly trying a catch-up. I know that Nature has her own course to run and sometimes she throws us off guard a little, but I agree that we do at times give her good reason to. She always wins in the end though…
Hope you have a good weekend.

Sue, I share your sentiments and wish and pray this storm passes off without any more damage.
Mother Nature’s wrath has been escalating since we hardly pay any attention to her needs…she has been sending her signals more frequently of late! All we can do is run away from her fury because nobody could develop the means to control her. She is the ultimate survivor. The day this truth dawns on human minds would they start respecting her.
Thank you for the constant reminders. Love and hugs dear friend.

As long as their pockets keep getting filled Sue, they won’t care. And our system of politics and economy keep it that way, and the only way it will change is a collapse, and our refusal to go back down the same path.
Like all change, it has its birthing pains as we go through our fears.
Great poem, and sadly, of words that are so true 🙂

You’ve picked a great poem to reflect not only the power of nature, but also of how we treat nature and our impact on the balance of the world around us. It is such a scary thought to see how it may get a lot worse before it really sinks in… the line “For I know it’s now the time as she screams with wind and rain.” runs very true as we have hurricanes/typhoons in different parts of the world today. Great post, Sue.

Thank you Randall, I really appreciate your feedback. Storms it appears are gaining strength, I hope we all open our eyes to Mother Nature.. Many thanks again my friend 🙂

I’m fine, just need some time away from the internet; I find WiFi and the internet in general, very draining, it’s an old cliche, but it’s true: Nature has no pixels.

Also, internet social networking is something that I have very mixed feelings about. It can be a format that advances communication, however, it cam also be a shallow exchange of emojis and ‘I love you” without any real meaning to them, it’s just “net talk”.

But you are never that way, Angel, you are always genuine and sincere.

It’s the least one can do! I’m not sure how many “victims” it caused … each and every single one is a loss … but that is not in our hands. Thank you so much for your thoughts and feedback … I greatly appreciate it. I have recently put my blog on “private” … not to have too much distraction, my father WAS in hospital … thank God he’s home again… but I planned to visit him in the UK as soon as I can. God is great and works in mistirious ways, sounds a little … religious? But I feel his help … or its my mother? We are not alone. Yours sincerely.

So sad, but true. I’ve been laying hands on the big sycamore tree in my backyard that has been leaning for many years, since a harsher hurricane pushed her. She has since grown another trunk in the opposite direction to compensate. I believe she will have no trouble standing strong through “Matthew” who will be here Saturday night, as she has stood strong with me longer than most people. She would appreciate your poem. I wonder: What might we become if we open our hearts to the earth and all of her children?

We certainly cannot know how much damage human beings have done to cause one domino to fall, thereby triggering the continuous action of events that has brought us here. Certainly the earth has undergone transformations too numerous to count over millions of years and we may never know how many catastrophic events there were then in comparison to now. We can only ever hope to keep trying to do better to get it right and to hope we are not the only factor that leads nature to be as destructive as it is. Always more questions, my friend. I do like very much what you have done here. Be well. xoxo

Thank you dear Renee.. Yes you are so right.. Our planet is a living planet evolving all of the time.. To think we can tame nature is myth
But in such a short time here on earth the Human Race has managed to pollute and poison and make extinct so many species.. We are so busy spending billions exploring outerspace instead of preserving the planet that gives us life.. I am sure as a species ourselves we have come to the brink of that extinction many times.. And had to start again.. Thank you dear Renee.. Love to you my friend xxx

I believe the human race will forever have to start over and over again to just get it right. We can only hope that we can save those not yet extinct and give them the open door through which they may go to survive. Technology is a double edged sword. I love being able to keep in contact with you across the ocean but dread hearing of the lengths sought after just to make life easier. We can do naught but move forward. Be well. xoxo

I probably shouldn’t write anything as my anger is bubbling and spraying about everywhere because of our totally RIGGED election here in the U.S. and the Media needs to be crucified for its evil refusal to tell the truth and only promote instead a very sick candidate who has no business being in the White House after what she has done…..Talk about having the upper hand. That is how the Clinton’s operate in life. Walking over others to get to where they want to go. That said: I have one major question for them….They show huts in tatters and tents no longer intact in Haiti after the storm plowed through, but tell me Clinton’s, why were these poor people still in tents SIX !!!!!!! years after the earthquake that destroyed them? Good old fool Bill Clinton bragged about his million dollar foundation and the help he was bringing to Haiti….Really???? Where is the evidence a single darn thing was done to help these people? I am utterly disgusted with everything right now, so I will end my rant….Sorry DW…Love ya despite it all…VK 🙂 ❤

Oh, I have missed your words, Sue 🙂 Yea..it is a cycle and as long as we do not learn our lessons we will continue, again and again. However, all is not lost for this planet, our Mother..has lived a many years and she is a great healer. We may not walk on her for long…but will, I believe persevere. Hugs!

I can relate to your concern, Sue. We are harming Mother Nature in so many different ways and, still, she is nurturing us. But, sometimes, She wants to make us aware of her enormous power, the power to destroy us! There is perhaps, still time that we should be more careful about our doings.

I’ve seen a graphical representation of Hurricane Matthew. It looks really dangerous! It has already affected so many places and lives.. 😦 Prayers for all of those victims…hope the situation will improve soon…

Can we not see as we cut down all her trees?
We cut the very air that each of us do breathe.
What have we become as we kill for greed and power?
Our Mother now chastises in this our final hour

These words are absolutely true and applicable to all of us irrespective of the country, race,, religion, creed that we belong too.

Each of us, carries within us the capacity to change the world in small ways for better or worse. Everything we do and think affects the people in our lives, and their reactions in turn affect others As the effect of a seemingly insignificant word passes from person to person, its impact grows and can become a source of great joy, inspiration, anxiety, or pain. Your thoughts and actions are like stones dropped into still waters, causing ripples to spread and expand as they move outward.. I hope that I can send a few ripples out via the web of life, as we each of us weave the threads together... Welcome to my Sanctuary of Peace and Love... May we each spread our Lights around our World....Sue Dreamwalker
