Crossroads~ Which path do you choose?

I felt the need to post something deeper again today, and I could find no better words to write than I have already written as my thoughts go out to the many places around our globe in conflict right now.

I know there are many new subscribers here to Dreamwalker’s Sanctuary this year who may not have read this post.. I thank all in advance for their contributions..

If I am slow getting back to you, it’s because I want some time to paint this weekend and walk out in nature..
So look after each other and choose your Pathway well..
Love and Blessings

Much is happening with our Earth Plane at this time of transformation, the Mayans called it

“ A crossroads of time of Great External Changes and Major Internal Upheavals”.

We have seen around the globe how many nations are starting to change, we are also changing ourselves internally through our awareness and intuition and I see many withdrawing into themselves as they seek peace as they set about clearing the debris of our emotional bodies, myself included as we adjust to the vibrations around us.

At times all that is thrown our way is too disturbing to cope with, so we withdraw within our inner sanctuaries finding solace within Nature and our meditations..

I have to remind myself daily of the GOOD in this world as we get constantly bombarded with the BAD… So many things which are UGLY in this world which led me…

The Isle of Iona~ Now A Place of Peace..

So the tour continued from the Isle of Mull in to the crossing by ferry from there to the peaceful  Isle of Iona. But this island although it became a training centre for Monks who would in those early years live in beehive shaped stone huts, where they would meditate in solitude within their prayers. It became a major  pilgrimage  centre when the Abbey was built..   Iona is also an Isle situated upon the trading routes between Ireland and Western Scotland.  And many Kings are buried there..  Many scholars believe that The Book of Kells  started its creative life there in the 8th Century.

It also saw its share of violence in many Viking raids as they plundered the riches of the Abbey.  Many  Monks were slaughtered during this time.. More history of these events you can find out by clicking the underlined links .

The Ferry came in as we waited on the shores of Mull, above are the stunning views as we waited for the Ferry.

The Isle of Iona is a serene Isle which only has a population of around 13o people.

Our first glimpse of the Abbey as we approached by Ferry the Isle of Iona you can see the small cottages spead around it.

It has one of the oldest and most sacred religious places in all of western Europe..  It was founded by St Columba in AD 563, the fully restored Abbey is one of Scotland’s most significant and sacred sites which is reputed to be the burial place of 48 Kings of Scotland, including Macbeth

The Old Nunnery

This plaque shows how the nunnery once was

The first site to greet us was the ruins of the Old Nunnery,  which was founded in 1200, by Reginald, son of Somerled (Lord of the Isles).  Who installed his sister Beatrice there as prioress  forming the first order of Nuns there. The Nunnery earned the name of The Black Church because of the black habits worn by the nuns

This part of the Abbey has not been restored and still lays in ruins.

Here you can see the ruins of the Nunnery and the The pink granite walls that remain, despite being ruinous, are amongst the best examples of a medieval nunnery left in Britain.

Before we walked the rest of the way up to the Abbey of Iona we went past a small cottage with a sign in its window.. Home Made Soup.. It was well past lunch time so we went in and had a take away bowl of home made broccoli soup and home made bread roll. The occupants were delighted to see so many of our coach party and promptly sent the message back into their kitchen as more soup was put on as we said there were at least 40 more walking up the hill .. It was delicious

Just a little further along we got to the Abbey of Iona  Gates  If you look you can see a Stone Cross in the middle of the Abbey above the people walking. More photo’s and information can be found  Here about these Crosses which have looked out across this ever changing World for more than 1,200 years.

We went exploring some more coming across this memorial cross with the names of those who gave their lives in the 1914-1918 Great War.. And one must wonder what impact losing so many husbands and sons had on this small community..  The names of which and closer pictures of this cross can be found at the sight of The Scottish Military Research Group Here

Connecting the Dots ~ Unity Consciousness

Just over one year ago I wrote this post, re reading it I thought it apt to repost it again today.
Many of my wonderful friends have already commented upon the original but I hope those new here to Dreamwalker’s Sanctuary will find something to take away with them and the comments of others that hold much wisdom as we join hands and hearts in Unity Consciousness across our planet..

Dreamwalker's Sanctuary

Sometimes the Universe works in remarkable ways, as it leads us through our experiences here upon this amazing planet. And sometimes we can be incredibly blind as the Signs present themselves ever more within our vision..

I see this time as a great opportunity to reach out to one another.. Instead we are constantly being brainwashed as to our separateness and differences.. Be it through religion or the borders separating countries, to the colour of our skin.

Basically we are taught to fear each other and distrust our neighbours we lock our doors behind us automatically… Shutting ourselves in and others out, in our own narrow little boxes.

While I was out walking the other day, heads were buried in their mobile devices, and I wondered did they ‘See’ the beauty which surrounded them. and what did they miss along the way! And I also wondered what would happen if…

Knitting Project~ Life Lessons..

Remember the knitting project I told you about?

I knitted away happily following the pattern which I had adapted slightly..  The back first then fronts and sleeves. Dipping into the separate balls of yarn which came within the same batch lot of dye lot number in one large bag.  And as you knitter’s and those who crochet know, along with those of us who decorate and choose our wall paper, we need to ensure the dye-lot numbers are the same, or shading can take place. And my choice of Pink glitter wool was all the same batch number it was in the same bag..

Most rainy afternoons as the light began to fail I would knit happily away long into the evenings, often by lamp light each stitch lovingly placed from one needle to the next.

Everything progressing nicely along. All the panels knitted, I then start the rib to sew it all in place to the front panels.. I join the shoulders and knitted the collar edging and that was sewn in place around the neck..   And  I think  nearly there now, nearly finished as I put it down for the evening.

The next morning the Sunlight is bright so I  and sit near the patio door as I happily threaded my yarn in the needle to sew up the side panels..  I thought I would admire my handy work as I laid it over my knee..

It was then my stomach plunged .. No way… as I looked at my masterpiece. One panel on the front  had  changed shade at yoke level.. I dove into my knitting bag pulling out the remaining yarn and pulling out to the paper sleeves which the yarn have been encased in..  Yes each number matched.. Yet all the remaining yarn was a darker shade..  Then I remembered I had changed my yarn ball as it had run out at that point. So it appears the yarn was not bagged correctly in a batch, that is the only conclusion as the back and front panels up to that point had been lighter.

But it’s no use pointing blame. A solution had to be found.. I didn’t have enough yarn left to redo both fronts, So how to make it match?..

Well there was only one thing I could think of; I would have to unpick the collar edging and the front panel rib of the side that was the same colour and unpick the rows back until it measured the same as the other side front where the shading had occurred and re-join the yarn there so both yolks matched in shade from the same point.

So below is the result.. You can see the shade change at the yoke.. And  why did my knitting remind me of life lessons..

You can clearly see the yoke change of colour which I had to match up after unpicking

You can clearly see the yoke change of colour which I had to match up after unpicking

Well sometimes we work away not really taking notice of things until they go wrong.. And it’s no good us jumping up in arms shouting and apportioning blame. What’s done is done..

We have to find solutions to problems and work our way through them.. And yes sometimes it may seem like we are working backwards as we undo what work has already been done. But sometimes it’s necessary in order to find balance..

If we want things to be right sometimes we have to learn from our mistakes and without our mistakes we would never learn.

 Wishing you all a beautiful weekend

Remember Them and Remember it is up to us.

Google Images

I was searching for a post to tie in the significance of today to what is happening within our world right now..  So for those new to my blog I am re-posting this post which was written some years ago upon my blog.

 I hope we can Remember that each thought and action creates our future tomorrows..  Let us Begin to build bridges between our differences and find peaceful solutions to working through them.

Love and Light..

Remembrance Day this year commemorates 100 years since the Great War of 1914 as well as WWII in 1945.

As we lay our poppy wreaths and say our silent prayers as we remember those who fell during these past Battles, Let us also not forget ALL of those who are still falling today..

It seems Mankind does not learn from Past Wars as he rages on forever doing battle. All we  seem to do is create  yet more sophisticated weaponry to maim and kill even more multitudes in our so called progression!.. It seems to me Man has progressed Little. For he still can not live side by side his fellow man in peace.

While I so wish to promote Peace upon my blog, this is also a Sanctuary to bring awareness to my readers. So let us not forget all of those who are still suffering right now at the hands of War.. And I would ask you to ask yourself WHY? Why is it we still join in battle to kill one another? Why is it we still throughout the many centuries do we embrace War as a solution in over coming differences.. And if our Governments were really embracing Peace.. Then also ask yourself why are they so ready to Go to War?..

I think many of us are aware enough to see beyond that which we are shown!. I am still always aghast at Man’s inhumanity to Man. And how we become blinked and almost anesthetized to daily reports of the horror we commit against each other in the name of religion.  This battle seems to have been waged since time began..  What God promotes War and Suffering? We are the ones doing that.. ‘Sigh’

I wrote the first half of this poem for Remembrance Day in 2010, the second half I wrote today. in 2014  And still we are sat in the same Zone of Remembering..

  Remember too.. That if we want to change the World to become more Peaceful then We are the ones who have to Remember it is up to us to Change it, and Live in Harmony and Peace with our fellow Human Beings..

Remember them of yesterday..

Remember them that fell today,

Remember them in faraway lands

Remember them for they too had plans

Remember Them…

Remember the old soldiers of World war one..

The Great War to end all wars that was won..

Remember too all the battles that still rage

As History turns yet another page..

Remember them..

Remember too all who serve,

With medals adorned and well deserved.

The medics who brave their lives to retrieve

Those brave soldiers who too they grieve

Remember them.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Remember too all the children who die
Let us not forget their silent cries
We can not keep turning our eyes that are blind
Remember People We are One of a Kind
Remember Them…
It matters not what creed that we follow
We need more love in our hearts not one’s that are hollow
As bulletins belch the cruel acts we abhor
Right into our homes as we accept yet more War
Remember too We have a Voice
Remember we are the ones who have a Choice..
Remember..
Look around you the destruction is rife
Even toys and Cartoons create battles and strife
Open your eyes and Open your hearts
And Remember to create Peace
It is Now we must Start!
Remember!.. It is up to US to Alter our Ways
If we are to bring Peace for future Days..
Now is the Time to Heal and Mend.
This was not going to be my intended post for this weekend.. But seeing the various posts and the media attentions to the results of the USA’s Election results I thought to repost this poem I had posted earlier this year.  Sending you all Love and Peace..
Confucius-Sue-Dreamwalker.jpg
My heart is sick of this sickness right now
Never to Fear will I bend or bow
How do we conquer the illness of the world?
That now infects us in each tragedy that unfurls
~~
I hold no weapon of hate in my aim
No longer do I point to hold blame
Yes, there is much wrong to put right
But judging and anger will not stop this fight
~~
I look to myself, as I question Mankind
As inward I travel exploring my mind
This circular journey we perpetuate
I need to find Balance and contemplate
~~
For it’s Our thoughts which create this reality
Are we Blind we cannot yet see?
WE, yes we, are the ones creating this future
Wake Up to your Power, let go of dementia
~~
Remember each film, each screen filled with rage
We condone such violence in subliminal haze
Change Channels, ‘Tune’ into your Hearts
Unify in love- Create Peace- Let’s Start
~~
Look at ourselves-Our Prejudices and Hate
Stop Condemning- Lets Communicate
Open up your Hearts, send Love via your thought
Your Light will extinguish the darkest of the dark
~~
Now is the time to heal and to mend
So hold out your hand to your neighbour and friends
The tears of our sorrow, let’s use them to cleanse
Build Bridges- Not Barriers- We can do this my friends
~~
Spread Love and Kindness, let go of Greed
Feed your soul the ‘Frequency’ it needs to succeed
Find Peace within, and the goal is begun
Unify through LOVE- come together as ONE
~~
Detach from Fear, replace it with PEACE
Only through LOVE will the Darkness decrease.
This post is in response to Brads #PeaceChallenge.  at Writing for Freedom And his post What the World Needs Now is Peace.
Each of us, carries within us the capacity to change the world in small ways for better or worse. Everything we do and think affects the people in our lives, and their reactions in turn affect others As the effect of a seemingly insignificant word passes from person to person, its impact grows and can become a source of great joy, inspiration, anxiety, or pain. Your thoughts and actions are like stones dropped into still waters, causing ripples to spread and expand as they move outward.. I hope that I can send a few ripples out via the web of life, as we each of us weave the threads together... Welcome to my Sanctuary of Peace and Love... May we each spread our Lights around our World....Sue Dreamwalker
