This morning I had two little old ladies come knocking on my door.. They cheerfully greeted me, holding out their pamphlet out to me. We politely engaged in a religious conversation for 10 minutes. After we exchanged views upon the state of our world and I agreed in the power of prayer.. I took their small pamphlet and they smilingly went to knock upon my neighbours door.
The Pamphlet’s headlines said
“ How do you view the World?”.. Will our World
- Stay the same?
- Get worse?
- Get Better?
and it’s title fitted into my thoughts perfectly as I had been wondering how to start a post I had been pondering on during the night. You could say it was ‘Heaven sent’
Because How do we view our world?
What influences our thoughts, into beliefs?
What shapes our ideas of the world more than anything else?
The Media for one, and our upbringing and cultures also influence the way we think.. But our Main stream news, keeps us informed, or so we think!.. It may interest us to learn it can also omit and twist facts that suit.
The theme for this post started for this week when I visited my Friends Blog World Metamorphosis Vision Keeper, whose post Here made it refreshingly clear how our mainstream news reporters were not always telling it like it is.. I say refreshingly, because at last individuals are waking up and daring to put them selves out there to expose what has been happening via our main stream news.
This was backed up again when Paul over at Learning from Dogs posted this article entitled Indonesia – another example of kakistocracy? I was pleased Paul provided the explanation of what the word Kakistocracy meant.. Meaning “government by the worst persons; a form of government in which the worst persons are in power.”
Paul featured an article written by George Monbiot who writes for The Guardian whose article in full can be read HERE as he slates his own reporting profession saying as I take a quote from Pauls post as he had permission to republish..
“By George Monbiot, article entitled
Indonesia is burning. So why is the world looking away?
published in the Guardian 30th October 2015. where he writes …
I’ve often wondered how the media would respond when eco-apocalypse struck. I pictured the news programmes producing brief, sensational reports, while failing to explain why it was happening or how it might be stopped. Then they would ask their financial correspondents how the disaster affected share prices, before turning to the sport. As you can probably tell, I don’t have an ocean of faith in the industry for which I work.
What I did not expect was that they would ignore it.
A great tract of the Earth is on fire. It looks as you might imagine hell to be. The air has turned ochre: visibility in some cities has been reduced to 30 metres. Children are being prepared for evacuation in warships; already some have choked to death. Species are going up in smoke at an untold rate. It is almost certainly the greatest environmental disaster of the 21st Century – so far.”
While I knew there had been fires in Indonesia, I had not known to the extent those fires raged, or the levels of death and destruction that is literally suffocating whole communities, So please go and read the report and Paul’s post in full.. It is devastating. And while this happens the Media’s headlines are on Football, and the James Bond Film..
On a Good Note how ever about the environment, I read over on Lois’s blog the Eco Grandma on her Good News Monday Post that President Obama has rejected the Keystone XL tar sands pipeline, now that has got to be good news, and isn’t it great when you see synchronicity working yet again I clicked the link to Earth Baby’s Website and read her article on Religious Leaders Call for Climate Justice And to round off this theme nicely, As I opened my emails this morning I was delighted to find another one confirming the Good news from the Keystone XL Tar sands pipeline.. Although I live in the UK.. I am passionate about our environment, and the link that came with that news update shares with us another important date we can all help by adding our voice to this petition when world leaders meet in Paris in December later this year all it requires is a click..
What amazed me was that while I lay awake last night thinking of Pauls Post.. Just how today all of these links came in and all in one way or another were related..
We are ALL of us responsible for our environment…
We are ONE
So…..
“ How do you view the World?”.. Will our World
-
Stay the same?
-
Get worse?
-
Get Better?
THE WORLD IS IN ALL OF OUR HANDS
Sue
As a footnote.. I just wish to thank all of you for your support and welcome new subscribers to my blog.. While this post is looking at the serious side of our environmental issues, we each can all do our part in helping heal our own piece of it..
Each of us CAN make a Difference in looking after Nature and our Environment where we live.. We owe it to our Grandchildren .. It is not someone else’s problem But Ours..
We are ONE

Yes the Indonesian disaster is man made and people are dying needlessly, poisoned by the very air they breath! 😦
I’ve been expecting more news reports on this man made disaster, but there’s been nothing! 😦
Also there have been dozens of shootings in Salford, but only a handful got a mention – what else is happening that we don’t know about??? 😦
God Bless!
Prenin.

Whoever started those fires, I believe to clear the ground for yet another palm oil plantation should be sued for crimes against humanity. Probably not realising the consequences since the underlying peat may go on burning for months if not years. How many times will we see needless and damaging actions instigated by greed and causing death and destruction? Thanks for this illuminating post Sue. Love, David

Very illuminating Sue. I don’t watch much news as a rule because I know it’s been twisted if not fabricated. News media are owned by giant corporations that have a vested interest in what we know. My son reads info wars to keep abreast of a lot but this was news to me. I believe the world will balance out somehow. I have to have faith or their would be no reason to continue. It breaks my heart that these kinds of things are still happening. It seems they are happening more intensely. Appreciate the heads up on where to find more reliable information. It’s doing something about it that is the problem. We can see that throwing money at it isn’t helping. Never does. Raising consciousness and awareness might, maybe, hopefully.

I recently watched the documentary, Cowspiracy, which I highly recommend if you haven’t seen it. Media is another big industry, which likes to focus on what brings them rich dividends and therefore news of human interest and welfare go unnoticed. They report what they want to!
Despite fires, ( California grapples with them every year ) wars and environmental damage, future of our earth is very bright because Nature possesses a unique healing quality, not just for us but for herself too.
Thanks for highlighting a very relevant issue. Stay blessed.

Yes I agree Balroop, Nature will eventually heal herself.. and all the ravages of what we have brought down upon her.. I often wonder if Nature would still wish us to part of her future 😉 given that our Greed has brought such destruction upon her and our very own species, not counting the ones we have helped eliminate. Mankind is far from ‘Kind’ in his/her Nature.. But I hope we wake up soon to the damage we have done, and are doing to the planet.. Much love for adding your thoughts here Balroop, always appreciated

Hi Sue,
I like your new header image very much. I also like the theme of your post, and yet…
I feel that there are better ways for me to grow and heal and then serve as a more authentic me than getting engaged in discussions about the media. I do not doubt the point you are making is true. Just like in my country, some are beginning to avoid Cancer Awareness and Disease Awareness campaigns and refocus on preventing disease and wellness instead. I prefer this approach personally.
So speaking for myself, I prefer to focus on what is working and what is honest and not on conspiracies. I hope you take my comment in the spirit it was made. I considered not commenting at all, but thought you deserve my honest reaction.
PS Kudos to you for conversing with the visitors. I tend to frown on unexpected visitors who are trying to sell me something.

Linda your views and opinions are always respected.. And I always welcome them.. It would never do for us all to be the same.. Its how we learn and grow.. If I agreed with everything and everyone what would I learn?.. We need to challenge things or else we would never change..
I also focus upon the positive, my whole blog is geared to encourage us to look deeper at ourselves, learning to see Nature and her beauty, and seek the Unity of oneness, and to embrace the positive side of life..
But there is a whole lot that is wrong with life too.. And I can not turn a blind eye to that which ‘In my opinion’ is unjust, which injures and destroys natural habitats, and kills people and animals..
These fires are not conspiracy theories, neither is the media manipulation the above links are facts.. You may however find some Conspiracy theories upon my Wake Up Pages, which have been present and part of my blog since I moved here. It all depends on how deep we explore, to dig out the truth..
What affects the whole affects me.. What I do affects the whole.. There is no escaping it for me. I could quiet easily continue to plough my own field ‘in my allotments 🙂 ‘ and turn a blind eye to world events.. But I care about our Earth Mother, and how we treat her, and I care about how we treat each other.. So I voice my thoughts often in poems.. but sometimes, you just have to call a spade a spade and say it like it is.. This post was one of those times.. So I welcome your honesty Linda.. I expect nothing else.. and Love you for it.. For it gave me a chance to explain my feelings and opinions too 🙂
I am confused however with your PS,.. All those who have commented here are among my WP friends..
Love and Mega Hugs to you my friend.. Lovely to have your thoughts as always Love Sue ❤

🙂 arrrgh Now I am with you Linda.. Yes I always love a good conversation with these JW who come.. I have been known to talk to them for half and hour.. One younger couple of young women were very interested in my ‘Spiritualist’ viewpoint. Its good to listen to their points of views, and then I give mine.. Sometimes they do not know how to answer me.. because I do not disagree with them.. But put a point across that we are all healers, and we have all been given gifts even the advancement within the medical fields.. What I say is we all were given free will.. what is their choice is theirs.. We all choose..
Even those who are on a darker path had a choice!..
Much love and so pleased we had this conversation 🙂 Big Hugs

Monbiot is consistently excellent of course, and The Guardian generally the most thoughtful of the British papers, along with the FT, which is less prone than the former to promoting a politicised agenda. I generally accord with The Guardian’s left of centre agenda, though it can feel a little like being spoon fed. Robert Fisk over at the The Independent is brilliant on The Middle East – the very best of all foreign correspondents in my opinion. Most of the MSM panders to corporate sponsorship and owner self-interest, and much of this came about after regional papers were co-opted in National propaganda efforts in The States during WWII. After the war, the corporates realised that if they owned and controlled the media, they could influence the markets, which is what we have now. Chris Hedges is good to read on all this kind of thing. All the very best Sue. H ❤

But I am optimistic about the future, despite all the gloom we are bombarded with.. It just saddens me when there is so much destruction of the World, and each other along with so many species, in the name of Greed.. And being misled, lied too along the way.. But it is good so many now within the Media are standing up and exposing that which needs exposing… Showing me that although it is slow progress, we are waking up to ourselves… I always so appreciate your comments Hariod.. thank you.. ❤

I agree Randall, Nature will always repair herself.. she has been doing it for Millennia, but it is the cost of all of the species we are destroying along the way.. Nature I am sure can survive very well without the imprint of Mankind.. It is what sort of legacy are we leaving our Grandchildren.. those future generations who have to pick up those messy pieces are the ones I think about.. And yes thankfully small roads are being made into awareness that we can not keep on doing what we have been doing.. That Profit can not keep coming before People..
Which is why I feel in my bones, we may all have One Massive Wake Up call before long..

I guess the b
“beauty” that such a twisted media world has brought us is the ability make choices what we will read, listen to, see etc when it comes to news – I have for some years now been recording my local TV news and the playback means I can fast-forward the bits that are pure sensationalism or biased information – not always 1005 successful – rubbish does leak in. As to the media-perhaps because most of my educational background is in advertising and broadcasting-I do know how they manipulate. The problem now is that ownership of the outlets is whittling down to a select few with seriously scary agendas.
Once upon a time, Henry Kissinger said, “To control the people, control the food”. He should of said, “To control the people control the media” because to me, that is what is happening now and it is proving to be very effective.

I don’t really think that people don’t care on a deep level-but I do think that its a very painful time for all of us and its so easy and “pain free” to just tune it out or worse-to shrug it off because its out of our control. I think that modern entertainment media is like opium. People don’t become addicted because their lives are balanced, but because something is very wrong. Not sure that we can change that but I do beleive that we are all connected and people do know the truth deep down.

Game shows are prevalent here too. Also reality t.v. I was standing in line at a store a couple of years ago.Right next to the register is a magazine stand that houses gossip magazines. There apparently was a celebrity breakup on the cover of one. What brought my attention to that fact was the angry conversation between two women-they spoke of how a man had cheated on somebody. At first I thought they were discussing a friends personal life but as the conversation evolved, it became clear that they meant the celebrity couple. I couldn’t believe it!
I do think people want to disconnect sometimes but most of the time, they might want to come back and that journey back cannot be easy. When a person stops doing heroin for example, they can be assured that heroin isn’t in their home or at the store. With entertainment, its everywhere and there is no escape. Not sure that anybody can be helped outside of a technology collapse.

Even my Hubby now tunes out of the violence that is in every Drama imaginable..Is there any wonder the world is evolving as it is.. ‘ What we Think We Create’..
Much prefer to get on with my Knitting LOL .. And I think maybe that is what it will need before this world can right itself.. We compliment ourselves for our Technological progression. But What are we Progressing towards.. It is certainly not our Spiritual Pathway.. For our tolerances have diminished while our prejudices have escalated.. We have begun to lose the Kindness from Mankind… And life is going to teach us some tough lessons.. xx

Technology has gone very wrong on some levels I think. Its great that we have these phones that have more power than a 1960’s era spaceship but honestly, I never used to worry about my kids so much as when they haven’t texted me whereas they used to be out playing at a friends and I was at peace. Its made me more anxious and maybe everybody else too.
I personally love technology and the entertainment aspect of film going. I don’t watch much television besides cooking shows. It all has its place. You and I grew up in an era where the media had its place.
Predjudices are being taught more and more openly in the U.S. Not sure about other places but my husbands Australian and we have seen some hate issues emerging among his family who were once liberal. Kindness from Mankind is the antidote for sure:)

KaKistocracy is a word of Greek origin which is very very comprehensive …
It strongly describes the way our world is governed right now. So,no wonder that all the means of communication are manipulated in order to indoctrinate us and to inhibit our free thinking.Alarming situation that poisons our lives, but your positive thinking is like a sunray that sheds light on the darkness that prevails.Keep voicing your thoughts and the beauty of your soul in your poems and your posts. All the very best to you,my wonderful friend Sue!Much love & Respect 🙂 ❤ , Doda xxx

Thank you dear Doda, your encouragement means a great deal to me.. I struggle at times with posts like these, but this is reality, And as dull and dark as it can be.. We all of us must try to shine our lights upon what is wrong within it, so we can rectify and build a brighter future in Unity and Oneness.. xxx ❤

Hello Sue. The blog looks so beautiful and your words give us truth. I don’t know where the world is going and I care very much. All I know to do is to try to shine a light on the love, kindness, compassion, joy, and gentleness that I can. I also want to change what I can. Blessings and hugs, dear friend, Barbara

Yes Barbara, there are many of us who care passionately on which way the world is turning… And I know at the end of the day all any of us can do is try to be the best we can within it.. As we hold to our own truths
Yet so many untruths are out there, and still so many shut their eyes to them.. I can not be true to myself, unless I bring some awareness so that we can help shed light and that compassion into our world.. I know you feel the same..
Thank you so much, and love your new logo with the dolphin.. Blessings your way
Sue xx

Sue, you ask a question I ask of myself all the time. I share good news every week because I want to believe in the good in the world and the little milestones that prevent disaster, such as rejecting Keystone. I read Earth Baby because I know the future is in the hands of the youth more than of my generation and Tegan is a shining example of the passion they will need to carry in their hearts to make a difference.
The article on Indonesia is shocking in the destruction that is taking place. I avoid the mainstream media and am awfully behind so I had not heard how bad the fires had gotten.
So how do I see the future? In the next few decades I see a struggle taking place. One in which those of us who have immersed ourselves in nature and issues of the environment will share what we know with those just wakening to the dangers around us. But during those years I still see governments and corporations living as if there is no problem with the status quo.
Only after enough people have educated themselves (outside of schools) and are passionate about the world they are passing on will we have the numbers to force our governments and corporations to make the necessary changes.
We are going to find ourselves crowded with climate refugees and will need to learn to live in harmony but I believe we can and will.

Thank you dear Lois for such a wonderful comment.. Yes like you I dislike the mainstream news, and avoid it as often as is possible..
Yes our world is changing.. Dramatically before our very eyes as we see the migration of refugees, which is happening because of both our countries interventions within their warlike ways..
I too have to believe we can resolve our differences, and learn to live in harmony.. I have to believe it, for our Grandchildren’s sakes.. For it is their future which will have to pick up all the pieces we are breaking!!

Enlightening post. I must go and read more about the fires.
We have to learn to live in peace and do all we can to save our environment/world.

Walking My Path: Mindful Wanderings in Nature
Nov 12, 2015 @ 15:19:33
Thank you for a great post, Sue. It has stimulated some wonderful conversation. I find it very difficult to walk the line between positive thinking, staying in my heart and happiness; and activism. There are so many things wrong with the world. Part of me wants to be beyond judging good/bad; wrong/ right, but I am not. So much that I feel is wrong goes unnoticed by the majority of people. Good example – the fires in Indonesia. The mainstream media doesn’t even mention it. Crazy! I can’t stand the killing of innocent people and animals. I go in and out of putting energy into writing letters, signing petitions, doing volunteer work for the planet and then I have to shut down for a while and let the pendulum swing back to happiness. I would like to get to trust that everything is unfolding as it should, but I am not there. I can get to a place in meditation and being in Nature where I can be in a state of prayer and sending out Love and good vibes, and I think that has to help. I want to stay positive and believe Love will get us all through this. So, I guess all I really needed to say is walking that line is hard.
Love and hugs, Sue! ❤

Thank you Mary.. Yes my heart sunk yet again today upon awakening and hearing about the terrible shootings in Paris.. I do not know where all of this violence will end.. But the Media’s attention to all that is Negative does not help heal our world.. but only in my opinion escalates and incites behaviours which are already heightened via the film industries which thrive on promoting violence.. So is it any wonder we are now reaping what has been sown into the minds of those who are influenced..
I do what I can in Signing Petitions too..
I watched a documentary on how Advertising worked, and how you can take say a can of cola and the same footage of film it can be changed into another brand for another country.. And you would not even think it had been changed, as the can was being moved by people holding it.. Clever Tricks, we should all be aware of I think when we view that which we are told is real..
All we can do is send out our love, hold love at our core and intention, and treat others as we ourselves would wish to be treated… But we are now seeing emerging a world born of what we have been projecting out.. *Sigh*
Love and Blessings Mary.. and thank you for your thoughtful comment xx

Excellent post and grave reminder on the world now and its future. We are all aware that global warming is increasing at an alarming rate with 2015 running hotter than any year on record. Unless the several approaches to arrest the runaway rate of global warming are implemented on a war footing things will go from bad to worse.
Thank you Sue and cheers 🙂

I try to remain optimistic Dilip you know me.. but the weather ‘signs’ are not good for our future and sea levels will rise causing insurmountable flooding and hardships… Yet we still seem blind to the consequences.
Many thanks my friend .. Sue

Thank you for remind us Sue of things we need to be aware of.
That this political system based on commerce is unsustainable.
Your blog also enlightens us that the antidote to hate is loving kindness.
We must calm our fears it is our fear that is being amplified by commercial interests.
Our fear and hate has to be controlled by caring and sharing and economising.
We can study pacifist role models like Gandhi and Nelson Mandela.
Then in calm mindfulness do what we can to remove hate and fear from our hearts and fill our minds with nourishing love. _/\_

I no longer watch MSM for my news. For so long they have twisted stories to suit the corporate big boys behind them. Sadly I do not have a good feeling about the future. While there are many who are compassionate and globally aware, the power at present rests with those who care not for the people who struggle, but only for their wealth and prosperity. I have long thought that had I viewed the world as I do today I would have remained childless, for I see no great future for my children or their children. In fact I actually hope neither of my children has children. I want no descendants of mine walking Earth when finally it all collapses as I fear it must. I know that appears pessimistic. Yet it is not, for I have come to believe the only way forward for this planet is the annihilation of humankind. And above all else I want Earth to survive and prosper. I just do not believe it can so long as man still exists. There is some flaw in the majority of us that that majority believes in some supernatural sovereignty over other species. It believes we have rights above all other creatures. So long as that continues with so many…Earth has little hope of surviving with us.

Sadly Jo in some respects I agree, there are many things which I know will not be pleasant for our grandchildren.. Yet if we all gave up what is the point?.. so I have to hope and believe that at the core of the majority of Mankind is Kindness.. It just may take a catastrophe to make him come to realise he has to work in harmony with his neighbours within his community, and that harmony also has to stretch out into Mother Nature, for she at the end of the day feeds us and provides us with our daily breath.. xxx ❤

It is not to our credit that many disasters around the world, are man made, we seem to tolerate them, even in the depths of the depravity of Human making.
When Natural disasters occur, most of Humanity pulls together.
It was inevitable with modern media technology that the media would be used for greed by many, particularly to distort the truth for monetary/political advantage, we are seeing this scenario being played out on the stage in the Middle East by the super powers, all brokering for the profits of war, while using the term Humanity, to give credibility to their political pursuits.

I love it when life knocks on our door and inspires us to look around and truly see what is going on, the real truth is slowly coming out… and it remains essential that we all feel safe within ourself and go about our life in conscious awareness and being clear of our individual intention of how we want to live…
