My Roar

We may all of us from time to time feel like we are walking alone along our lonely roads, as we feel the world close in around us. We may feel there is no place left to run except to inside one’s own self.

But when we join with other hearts who are also searching, we find we are no longer walking a lonely path, because others are walking alongside us in unity, sharing their love. We then find we are not alone in our feelings, because others are also feeling exactly what we are feeling. We then join with other  heart centred beings, and find we are far from alone. It is then our united voices suddenly become heard.

When our roars and our thoughts unite, we suddenly become stronger, we no longer feel so alone as we overcome our difficulties. We then become like Lions.

I truly believe that in the majority of hearts lies love. I see it in various events that once in a while trigger our human hearts to speak out. And when we allow our hearts to rule instead of our heads, I see hope for the future. We perhaps see a world who on the surface appear to be indifferent and uncaring who have become numbed to the killing machines of the world, because killing has become part of their normal every day experiences.

But that comes from Seeing the world from our various perspectives. We in the western world who are witnessing changes on the global scales through our communication devices see the world through a different pair of eyes to those of lets say, the indigenous tribes. And yet our own life styles are now encroaching in on those indigenous tribes, whose day to day living is now being threatened through our greed.  As oceans become polluted, fish die, habits are destroyed. Deforestation is devouring land, while water levels rise and animal extinctions are on the increase. We are all held within Natures Balance and each action has a reaction.

We call this progress, as our technological gadgets bring communication of world events ever closer. It seems that in such a short space of time we have managed to turn our world upside down as we have had our hand in so much destruction. Because we all like our ‘Things’ and creature comforts.

So,  as those who read here regularly know, I retreated into my own space, and I re-read again the pages from a book my daughter had gifted me after her returning from South Africa and a visit to Global White Lion Protection Trust  and as I stared into the picture on the cover and upon the Tarot Deck of Cards  she also gifted me as I stared into the eyes of a Lion.  I just had to paint him as the words of wisdom from its Author Linda Tucker stuck a chord within me from the book The Lion Hearted Leadership™ The 13 Laws  I recommend reading.

It is no coincidence that throughout time Lions have been chosen as Symbol Totems of strength, courage and bravery. You will see their images on Flags, Crests and buildings. Lions have been part of our various cultures for thousands of years, from Egypt to Greece. From Asia to Africa.

Kings have been named with the heart of Lions.  Even many Popes have taken the name of Leo. You will even find Lions prominent  in the USA as I discovered through researching that even the statue of Ulysses S. Grant Memorial in Washington D.C. is flanked by four Lions.

You may remember the Lion Cecil who was hunted down and killed and how his death sparked not only outrage, but how so many around the world so quickly united their hearts, bringing the worlds attention to Guns and their various uses, and the plight of lions who we are in real danger of extinction.

As Linda Tucker explains in her book this was also an event timed to perfection by the Star calendar dates in the constellations in Astrology. The White Lions the Star Children bringing us together in one voice.  What we do to Nature, are we not also doing to ourselves? And are not the Lions warning us through their own threat of extinction, that of our own future extinction?

But the Lion’s symbol reminds us all we are stronger than we think. Recently I withdrew back into my den, to gather inner strength. For sometimes we feel we are alone in our empathy, feeling helpless and alone on our pathway, thinking with all the love in the world it is not going to change the destructive path mankind seems to heading as we pollute our planet, cut down our trees, pollute our oceans and rivers, and kill species to the point of extinction. Not content with all of that, we are also polluting our minds!

And yet, we have also seen how tragic events have united people who once thought themselves alone. They have united their voices to stand up speaking their speak, as they overcome their fear.  We have seen the powerful fall, as Unity, Truth and Justice prevail. The most powerful tool we have is to unite in love.

You dear friends and followers have the greatest weapons at your disposal, you deploy it all the time with your own compassion and love. You share if often with me here, with your love and encouraging comments. This tool it is not a weapon cast in metal, but your mettle will be tested, time and time again.  This weapon we each hold, is the Power of Love. We have to reach inwards to our hearts, we have the weaponry to destroy the sickness that is sweeping the world. The sickness of indifference and not caring. The weapon is our Hearts.

Because if we do not start to care and live from our hearts instead of our heads, by turning a blind eye, we then all become guilty as if we were pulling the triggers, and if we were cutting down habitats and polluting oceans with mountains of plastic. We have to look within and begin to change our ways too. It all comes back to changing our selves.

Some may think we are too far down the rabbit hole to return.  I don’t believe this to be case, I’ve seen it in the passion of our younger generations eyes. I’ve seen their strength of their determination. I’ve seen them in their unity as they pull together. I see them speaking out and taking action while speaking out as they see the state of our world needs to change, from guns, to equality, racism and abuse to climate change and pollution.  I am inspired because these young hearts are our future world. They are now finding the courage to speak their speak.

Sometimes it takes tragedy and chaotic times to instigate change. Is it not time we dug deep into our own hearts, to seek out our own courage, and not be afraid to speak out. To not fear change, for change is evolution in the making. But not at the cost of lives or our environment. We need to build community spirit, not keep them living in fear.

At times we need to roar out our outrange at injustice, inequality, abuse and cruelty to Humans and our Animal Kingdom.

But we also need to have the courage to take those first steps as we put our own house in order and look closely at our own judgments our own prejudges as we reflect upon our own faults. To look at our own habits that as consumers we too contribute to our plastic environment that is polluting our oceans and planet.

Nature finds her balance, regenerating and adapting to change, isn’t it time we too found our balance and reconnected with our hearts?

Funny you should bring the lions into this, Sue, as there is a saying:
Be careful for what you are roaring, ’cause you might just get it, and when it comes to lions I just don’t know if that would be a wise thing to do? 🙂
    Especially being a ‘lioness’?

Love your lion and of course your wise words DW….It is definitely time to push aside all of the distractions designed to coax us away from ourselves. If we could just see at long last that we are way more than what we think we are! It is a frustrating time indeed but that should call out to us even more loudly to set things right! We best get busy waking up. I know timing is everything but so much is imploding in the world what will be left at the end? Trust in the universe must guide us and eventually we will make it out of this storm. Until then stay strong my friend and stay disconnected from the chaos…Hugs to you…VK ❤

I agree with you Sue…all human beings have love at the bottom of their heart and if they don’t get the right stimulation, if they are neglected or pushed aside, if they are misled…there could be myriad other reasons that the basic emotion of love that we are born with, gets mired by frustrations and anguish. Along with love, there are innate negative traits, which get prominence in the hours of disillusionment.

All can’t be lions, courage and strength is developed with great determination only if we are placed in challenging circumstances and some lions go out of control. Human mind is extremely complex to understand but love is a fantastic cementing force. How that love is nurtured and dispensed is what makes a difference.

Thank you for a lovely post and your painting is amazing! Somehow I feel the lion of your painting doesn’t seem to be ferocious. 🙂 Have a wonderful weekend dear friend.

Sue, the power of love that beats through every line in your post is extremely strong. With each line, I felt that lion power in myself but also the growing might of joined lion hearts! Even one person can change a life, so together we can change this world to a better place, to a more loving place welcoming every single being.
Yes, sometimes it needs tragedies and catastrophes to wake up and remember that we are one family and that we need each other in order to make it on this planet.

Thank you dear Erika, I am honoured to have your roar, and your insight to the deeper workings of this world. Together and with others who are like-minded and heart centred I know we will eventually bring more unity into our world. We are but the first seeds that are being sown. Our younger generation are opening their own eyes and ‘Seeing’ further into the future. And are stepping up and daring to be heard also. I hold great hope that more hearts will unite. Thank you for your encouraging comment Erika and sending love and hugs your way ❤

Altough it may look as if the world gets darker at the same time more hearts are uniting on the other side. I know that you too see the growing love as a counterbalance. When something really bad happens the wave of love is washing over the tragedy like a tsunami. Let’s hold hands and become part of such a loud roaring lion tsunami. Lots of love and hugs to you too, dear Sue 💖

I can feel the courage flowing from your painting as I remember the origins of the word, courage: “Middle English (denoting the heart, as the seat of feelings): from Old French corage, from Latin cor ‘heart.’” Brave hearts coming together with love to heal the world. What a beautiful plan! And Yes to reinforcing the young!

Well said Sue, and a beautiful painting we dare not deny. For one day that painting may be all we see of those magnificent lions and many other animals. The greed needs to stop and the only way they will listen is to hit them where it hurts the most…their pockets.
I have already begun to stop buying anything that uses a system that poisons this planet….clothes etc. Once they see that this is beginning to take hold they’ll know their time is up, they either change to a green way of doing things or their business will fold. We CAN do something, and it’s that simple 😀 ❤

Yes a sad thought is that day, if we carry on as humans are doing often breeding lions in cages to release to be hunted down for profit. And I agree the greed needs to stop.
You are so right with what you are doing, for as consumers it is we who drive the markets. So it is we who have to change our consumer habits, and stop buying the things which are destroying our planet.. Be it plastic, fur, or palm oil.
No other species destroys its habitat.. Yet we seem hell bent on destruction.
But it all starts with ourselves, and yes we CAN do something, easy simple things, like changing our habits, caring more, sharing more and giving more.

Many thanks Mark for you wisdom and for your words 😀

This is why I am a part of many protest groups, ever willing to add my name to the growing list of wrongs that need to be corrected!

From neonicotinoids poisoning the bees to protests about the wholesale destruction of the forests for the growing of palm oil plantations, I’ve seen and raised my voice in protest!!!

Alone I would be a single voice in the darkness, BUT I AM NOT ALONE!!!

A single tree may produce a million matches, but only one match is needed to burn down a forest… 🙂

Progress (for lack of a better term, actually should include destruction of the Earth) is like a speeding locomotive. You see it coming down the track but there’s not much you can do to stop it. It’s scary and won’t stop unless something real drastic happens. Throwing flowers at it won’t do much. Standing in front of it won’t stop it either. You have to be real clever to make the differences that will slow it down. It takes ‘big’ business, and ‘big’ government to make the ‘big’ changes that will make the ‘big’ difference. peace to all, Eddie

Yes it is scary when you see what is coming and feel helpless to stop it.
And agree it takes big business and governments to change..
But we also have the power.
We are the ones who use our vote, and we are the ones who buy goods. By changing our habits by choosing well, we also have power, but it takes unity to stand and make these changes together.
It will not happen overnight and not in our life times, but if we keep sowing the seeds, we can only hope our younger generation can spread them to grow..

Many thanks for your wisdom Eddie .

Wow. That lion. How big is the painting? I ask because I know photos always make things look smaller. The colors, the animal, the vibrance and energy, though. You feel it when you look at the painting. You have the heart of a lion, sweet friend: courage, calm, tenacity, intelligence, commitment. You have these qualities and more.
Sweet Sue – your beautiful words remind us that we all play a role. We all have something to learn, to teach, to do to help not only each other, but our animal friends and the planet.
The native peoples have been right all along: what we do to our web is what we do to ourselves. I think we humans will listen: when our lives are affected by something, we begin to listen. We take action when our hearts and minds depend on it. I think we’ll get the message. I just hope we can truly bring about change before it’s too late. To that end, I personally think we need to rid ourselves of capitalism and create a balanced economy: one where there’s give and take, driven by need and not by want, and the idea of “profit” is eliminated in favor of the greater good. This may be a pipe dream, but if we are capable of dreaming it, why couldn’t we implement it? I think about this sort of thing all the time: our capacity to bounce back from the damage our species is causing and hoping that enough people wake up. Indeed, many have. May are making responsible choices to help the planet and each other. I have not totally figured out what I want to devote myself to as far as causes, but something tells me it has to do with meditation. I’ve thought time and again about creating meditation flash mobs in front of the courthouse to stand for justice for the children of this country who live in fear when they go to school, or that folks are suffering from lack of food, water and other basic necessities while the 1% in this country just get richer…I dunno. But once my heart commits, there will be no stopping me. Hehe. I hope you have a wonderful week, dear friend. Sending you hugs, love, light and wishes for warmer days and beautiful flowers ahead. 🙂

Indeed Cynthia, we all of us have a role to play and we are each playing it.
I have sat and thought about. will we change before it’s too late. Or will Nature change us?
And when you see how we are destroying our habitat, will nature retaliate and readdress the balance. To eradicate Mankind? As we seem to care little about the many species we are endangering because of our greed.

But then what is balance? How many times has our world undergone major changes.. Though Ice ages, floods, and history we only assume we know as the millennia our Earth has been evolving.. From Dinosaurs and Mammoths to those ancient Aztec civilisations! Who suddenly disappeared.

Could our experiment as Humans be another event within the cosmic life scale of planet earth. I ask myself these questions often. And often get myself in a ravel of tangled thoughts that sometimes I prefer not thinking at all.

And so I paint, Listen to my heart, and my heart, my Higher self speaks out telling me not to give up on LOVE..
For love is all we really need to do. Yet we humans find it so hard even to love ourselves.

Your thoughts on your future to help the younger minds is one I so admire.. I know our younger generation are much more brighter and intelligent than we give them credit for. And when their minds are not poisoned by indoctrination from the many mind games and gadgetry that numb them and blind them to the truth, I have hope for our future.

And when ALL hearts commit.. Wow… then watch the ripple effect take place..

This is such a beautiful response. Just wanted to come by…it’s late here and I’ve fallen behind in getting back to folks and commenting. But I cherish what you have said and the beauty in your words and I promise, I’ve been thinking so much about what you’ve said and a response to everything is forthcoming. Sending you hugs, love and light.✨✨

Tears sprang to my eyes, Sue, as I read your post. There is just so much greed and so much corruption and so much violence in this world, that at times I feel the “little” we who live from the Heart do, just isn’t enough. When I begin to feel this way, I must pull back and just focus on my world created from Love and Peace. I dream of a world where the animals are respected, where humans are respected, where violence and insolence are a thing of the past. Everywhere I look I see panic, chaos, insanity, and more. I KNOW it gets darkest before the dawn, yet …. Anways, your painting is glorious!!! May your LION roar the Good News that Love is the way! Bless you for this post! (((HUGS))) 💖💖💖

Bless your heart Amy, yes we who care often have to understand we have to take care of ourselves also. Its not easy being as emphatic as we are. And I agree, we have to centre ourselves and focus upon our inner world as we share our dreams we then create the outer world.
Many thanks Amy.. and may our roars continue to echo truth xx ❤

Sue, a powerful essay that touches on so many topics close to my heart! It was as if we were having a long conversation, did you see me nodding in agreement, hear me as I discussed some topics further? We are all responsible to an extent on what happens, we all have far more influence than we imagine. One paragraph in particular touched me and is something I believe with all my heart – that the younger generation is fired up and united on so many issues. ‘I’ve seen it in the passion of our younger generations eyes. I’ve seen their strength of their determination. I’ve seen them in their unity as they pull together.’

It was interesting to learn about the Lion and finally, I love your painting…such compassion in its eyes, such determination and steadfastness. Beautiful. hugs xxxx

What answer!.. I did want to roar then LOL.. Thank you Holly, its now upon my wall and looks down upon me as a reminder as does my leopard 🙂 Many thanks Holly, sending love and hugs your way. ❤ xx Take care my friend xx

My first intention when setting up my blog was to inspire and hope to make a difference, if I spark just a little of peoples thinking in a different direction and guide them to see we need more love in the world instead of judgements and prejudices then Dreamwalker’s Sanctuary has done its job.. Many thanks again Pragalbha for reading your visits always bring smiles. 😀 Mega Hugs x ❤

And yes we are far from alone, even though I know at times we feel we are, and feel our efforts are not having any effects. We trust, and we keep on working on ourselves and hopefully along the way others too become aware.
I am taking more time and space to just find that inner sanctum right now Bela, We know we shall both be here for each other, and thank you I will take good care.. You too dear Bela. ❤

Not only was this post powerful and moving. I felt the sense of more so with animals than humankind. I feel more for animals because they are suffering as much as humans are. It could be equally or not. Sue, thank you for you writing this. I felt it in my heart and I cried.

At long last I found a quiet moment to visit you,Sue dear, and find some peace in your sanctuary, but your previous post upset me.I hope that soon you’ll feel better my friend. It’s really wise to listen to our bodies and try to find the balance between our desires and our potential physical strength.Akiane’s painting-video said it all;you didn’t only share it with us,but you also applied her suggestions. As for the gift of your daughter,it must be a real boost at moments like that,it is sort of haven for our souls. There is so much suffering in people’s lives, nowadays.
Your painting is fantastic,I look at the lion’s beautiful, emerald eyes and feel transfixed by its stare. Our souls,by nature, quest for justice and love,we cannot compromise with what’s happening around us.Thank you for sharing with us your insightful “roar”,sooner or later peope will join their efforts and will revolt against any wrongdoing.Send love & warm, spring hugs your way,Enjoy a peaceful Sunday<3 xxx

I wish I could say I felt 100%, and mostly I say I am fine even if at times I’m not. But I am feeling lighter and brighter than I did. But feel I still have a ways to go before what ever has held me loosens it grip. Thank you for your lovely comment Doda, for taking the time to visit and read. I think I am just ready for Spring, and to immerse myself back in the planting of my garden. The short respite of milder weather has plunged back into icy snow again this weekend. Such a profound and inspiring post, Sue. Love is the most powerful tool we have at our disposal. And like you, I believe that love lies deep in the heart of all. Finding it in those disposed to anger and hatred can be difficult, and igniting it, even more of a challenge. But it is there and simply requires finding common ground. I hope your retreat rejuvenates you, as mine did me. You are in my thoughts and prayers, and always in my heart, dear friend ❤

So good to see you here Tina, I thank you for your thoughts and prayers, I so appreciate them. I am happy you have felt the benefits of your own absence for a while to gather again your inner strength. There comes a time when we have put ourselves first for a time, and that time is here now for me. As much as I love my WP community of wonderful friends, I have to rejuvenate and replenish. I wish I could put into words this drain of energy. Its like no other I have experienced. I can fluctuate from feeling fine one moment to sleeping the next. So I am taking more time out to recover. Other factors are at work I know, as energies are accelerating on a Cosmic level, which those of us who feel them, understand them and their effects on sensitives.
Many thanks also Tina for your sharing of My Roar.. I so appreciate all you do, sending much love and hugs your way.. ❤

I like your post and agree with it. At the same time I can’t help feeling frustrated with this feeling that many of us seem to be “keyboard warriors”, unleashing our rage on the internet, but when it really comes down to it, changing the way we see or do things, not many move towards that. Like you said, we all need to really start looking at our life and the way we live, the choices we make.

Such a beautiful book that helped open my own heart and connect more with the world/myself. My Consciousness has expanded so much these last 10 years and now I feel its the final stage of my physical body changing… which makes us very tired and so we take as much rest as we need AND enjoy playing and keeping our joy and love alive! Each of us, carries within us the capacity to change the world in small ways for better or worse. Everything we do and think affects the people in our lives, and their reactions in turn affect others As the effect of a seemingly insignificant word passes from person to person, its impact grows and can become a source of great joy, inspiration, anxiety, or pain. Your thoughts and actions are like stones dropped into still waters, causing ripples to spread and expand as they move outward.. I hope that I can send a few ripples out via the web of life, as we each of us weave the threads together... Welcome to my Sanctuary of Peace and Love...
