Meaningful Monday’s ~’Senses’

Shadow of my hanging crystal in the window and prisms on the wall.

The Sunlight cast her golden glow through the gap in the treeline, sending her light to to catch the hanging teardrop crystal that hung in the window.

A multitude of tiny rainbow prisms danced along the wall, as I caught the crystal as I drew open the curtains to greet my day. It was a while before they settled their dance and left their bright rainbows along the wall, each a perfect spectrum of light.

The frost had magically transformed the lawn to white shards of glistening glitter as the Sun’s rays caught them. The Blackbird already well into eating breakfast was pecking the left-over corn and mealworms left out yesterday.

The Robin was perched in his usual favourite spot on the fence serenely surveying the garden, while the sparrows busied themselves as they frantically battled for positions pecking each other out of the way on the fat-ball feeder.

A neighbour’s cat at that moment took his usual shortcut through our garden and in an instant, there was not a bird in sight, as they had swiftly all flown into their invisible hides within the bushes.

I smiled as I breathed in deeper, as I greeted my day. Knowing that as soon as the cat was out of sight, the birds would be back to fill up for breakfast.

The kettle came to the boil, and the aroma of the toast popping up from the toaster brought my attention back to my tasks in hand, as I prepared my own breakfast.

I took my tea and toast to sit by the patio window as I watched the garden life resume, as one by one the sparrows popped their heads out from the bushes and their cheerful chattering once again saying the coast was clear. While the rainbows continued to shine in their magnificent hues along the wall.

Today’s post is being merged with a challenge set up by Linda, over at Litebeings Chronicles    on her challenge of Litebeings Sense-sational Challenges

I wrote the above, because each day we use our senses, and if we lost one of them it would alter our lives drastically. and within that first few moments of waking, I had used all five of them.

We take each of them for granted, and are so very blessed with being able to see, hear, feel, taste, smell, and yet, there is one in which we all of us have, and often are unaware of how to use it, and that is our  sixth sense.

Feather- Crystal Rainbow Prisms

This sixth sense is one that we have all been born with, but we have long since lost the ability to activate it successfully. And when we do, people are fearful of it, so you either tend to hide this ability or if you are a child, you are soon told it is nonsense and it is not to be practised, so like any muscle, if you do not use it, you soon lose it.

I have been very privileged in using my sixth sense and developing it during my life time. And have used my Inner Knowing, our inbuilt intuitive system that when you tune in correctly, helps us to explore our deeper connection beyond that which we can see.

Rainbow Prism on wall~ Perfect. We are all colours within the rainbow, None are separate.

I am sure there are many of you who have stories of when such sixth senses kicked in, when you had that feeling of something was about to happen, or you had an unexplained encounter, premonition, or simple knew who was on the other end of the land line before you even picked up the phone.

Linda’s challenge asked. Which senses bring you Joy and delight. In short, they all do, I could not paint, sew, cook, knit or garden without the enjoyment of ALL of my senses that come into play.  Linda’s second question was, How do they help you live a meaningful life? They all bring meaning to my life. Each and every one of them. For each are important.

But my sixth sense is also very important, for in learning to connect deeper, and activate this hidden sense which we ALL of us have, it has allowed me to explore not only my own inner worlds, but worlds beyond, which so many are afraid of touching. And when you learn to traverse this new sense, you also find a whole new world waiting to be explored, that brings deeper understanding to why we are here and who we are and to our Mission here on Earth.

One  sense that I wish to embrace more, Is my Sense of ‘Vision’… Not within my own eyes, but the Vision I hold for the world. One where our dreams of what is possible outweighs our uncertainties.  Where we can leave the past in the past, as we embrace and engage in the experience of Now. Breathing in beauty, creating beauty within our thoughts, as we share common good with our community. A Vision, where no one lives in lack, and where ALL life is precious, where all are equal, where no one starves, and one where we grow to respect each other and all living things.

Yes, you may say I am a dreamer…

But without Dreams, we have no Vision.

Our thoughts, and our actions are what bring about our future, so today’s Visions are our future tomorrows.

Thank you Linda for your Sense-sational Challenge, and if you want to join in I know she has some dates left for November if you should wish to and pick up your Badge.  And if you should think is art is familiar, I donated this piece of art for Linda’s Challenge to create the badge.

What sixth sense have you experienced?

The next on the list in the challenge at the moment of  publication to take part Is Leigh on the 15th Nov’

In Love and Light

Sue .

Not an easy job to draw the Light & the light … You efficiently drew and captured both, dear Sue!
Wonderful your images with intriguing shades and shadows, gorgeous your thoughts and your perception on our senses. The sixth sense, which is more developed and accurate in the female brain;it has to do with the structure, always fascinates me.We’ve all experienced lots of incidents which show us its multi- dimensional nature … Take good care of all your senses, and especially of your eyes, dear friend.Wishing you a brilliant & creative week ahead ~ hugs & kisses 🙂 ❤ xxx

Hi Sue, This is a sense- soothing post. I can almost visualize the morning scene with the frost in the garden, the kettle with the boiling water, the cat, the sparrows popping out their heads. The rainbow prisms on the wall are there to see. The sixth sense is important and happy to know that you have developed. I am not at all sure about mine. Hope your sense of vision for the world also develops in the way to wish it to.
How’s your eye now? Please do not stress yourself till you completely recover. Love & Regards, Somali

Hi dear Somali.. firstly thank you the eye is much improved though I have my screen in large print so as not to strain it, and the drops continue for a few days.. But So much better..
Your sixth sense, I am sure you have it.. often its just a moment of quietening your mind to listen to what comes back deep from your heart.. We all have that inner knowing, as our inner BEing guides us. Some just have enhanced those senses through the years..
Thank you, I intended for the reader to get caught up first in the senses I was feeling as I drew open the curtains..
And that is all we need do for ourselves.. As we draw back the veil to use our senses and follow our hearts.. LOVE and many thanks, I will take WP in small bits for sure 😀 Thank you again Somali for your love and Presence xx

A beautifully evocative piece, dear Sue, capturing the intimacy of subjective sensation most vividly and vitally. I suppose your 6th sense is something akin to intuition, is it? I tend to regard intuition as thought operating at the speed of light, meaning pre-verbal thought that isn’t burdened by the cumbersome rational mind and vocabulary. Actually, a great many thoughts are intuitions in a way, or their genesis is as intuition, as they don’t come into existence with their verbalisation, but prior to it. Our understanding and (re)cognition of them comes about in their echoing by verbal means, whether silently to ourselves or out loud. It’s a fascinating area, the whole business of knowing things prior to thought. Many great discoveries were made that way, as a chap called Jacques Hadamard wrote earlier in the last century in his book The Psychology of Invention in the Mathematical Field. H ❤

Wonderful to have your thoughts upon this subject Hariod.. You know if I could tell you how my sixth sense worked, I could not explain it in words.. Even my mediumistic abilities I could not tell you exactly how they operate.. Although I do not tune into those as often as I used to.. But we are all connected via the field of energy, all capable of accessing it .. Which is why often at simultaneous times throughout our earths history certain inventions have been created out of so called ‘Thin air’ by various inventors, at great distances apart geographically. Who have thought each stole each others idea.. Yet in fact they reached out and pulled back through their own ‘Sixth sense’ Intuition which has long been neglected by the masses.. Information we have long ago forgotten. We have other terms for this field..
But if we all of us at least got back in touch with the heart.. That would be a great starting point to rely upon our intuitive senses. 😀
Many thanks dearest Hariod.. Loved your comment.. 🙂 ❤

Lovely post, dear Sue. We do need all our senses for so long time as possible 🙂

Some years ago, I got challenges with first my eyes, then my ears. I did meditate to find out the reasons for these challenges and found, that there were things, as I didn’t want to see or hear. When I worked through this area and it took its time, my challenges disappeared again.

While I was in coma this summer, I had many strange experiences. You were included in one of them in trying to save my life, very short told. I try to go through all these experiences one by one and it is tough work. I would love to learn from all of it and I don’t ever wish to repeat that time in coma.

I’m happy to hear, that your eyes are doing better. Take it easy and remember to relax in your eyes.
    Much love to you ❤

Wow, thank you dearest Irene. and for that wonderful validation from you, that I was helping you.. I told Amy that I was dreaming of you and helping you.. In fact there were a few of us who banned together I feel whom you know here who held you in our hearts..

I was struggling with Seeing something agreed.. and I went to bed asked for healing and the next day I awoke to find the irritation much improved. But I had also shifted some perception within.. And I knew deep down I was not seeing something as I should hence my comment upon my last post about not looking or seeing.. 🙂
But thank you dear Irene for that confirmation.. And no, No way do you wish to return to such an experience.. And you can be assured I will take care an not over strain my eyes.. Everything is on large print right now for me to read here.. ❤ xxx

Thank you Sue, That all sounds so familiar and like you I could not write, do DIY, Garden, Paint Watercolours, Cook, Make loads of stuff without end! Without all of the physical senses. But, and again we are on the same vibration, the sixth sense for me is like a filter that brings the visions which I have been blessed to receive and to witness the Masters speaking to us over the years with their wisdom that makes sense of the many mysteries that tend on occasion to confound us. As they have said I do have a very vivid imagination! It makes for a very happy life and I am sure for you too. 🙂 😀

Beautiful post, Sue. Glad to hear your eye is healing. I too have some lovely crystals sent by a friend in New Zealand that hand in my rooms that get the sunlight, They make life sparkle a bit. As for the sixth sense, I’ve always trusted it more than any other. Maybe that’s why my vision is so limited, so I will rely more heavily on that other vision. I will hold your vision for the world in my own heart as well, Thank you so much for it.

The five senses barely skim the surface of the mundane universe. However, some people have developed and fine tuned their senses to perform at a maximum level giving the individual increased abilities and keen intuitive capabilities.
It is not common place and requires mastery over oneself.
A fabulous post indicating the abundance of power available for those will to are willing to work hard and then work hard some more.

Ah the beauty of crystal dancing on the walls is a hypnotizing feeling as this can lead to many thoughts. I am pleased that your eye is getting better and you are able to do your post in moderation hopefully.
Beautiful description of your morning and being lulled back to the here and now of the smell of toast. As well the birds and animals being lulled out of summer’s laziness and their hustle and bustle of having frost on the ground which is a prelude to winter…..shiver.
Yes I can’t imagine not having the physical sixth sense as they heightened the sixth sense as well but not necessarily so.
I have so many stories of the sixth sense which are too long to put up but I did have an interesting experience two days ago while in a shopping mall. I think some of you have experienced or not when you are walking and you spot someone that you just know you know them and you both stop and look at each other with the knowings and not being sexual at all. It is such a familiar sense and you don’t know how you know them but you know you know them.
I was walking in the mall and as per usual I look at people all the time. I saw a mother pushing a baby carriage. I looked at the child and our eyes immediately locked. I stopped. The mother pushing the carriage stopped and the child had an O forming his mouth and my mouth was open. I knew this child somehow. The mother then spoke and said two old soul meet. I was shocked as I have never heard anybody use the term old sould out of social media. That kind of broke the spell so to speak. When I got home I immediately asked Spirit about this incident and I was answered by Spirit saying that the child was an ancient one and that he was calling you. That made total sense to me and then Spirit before parting said that I have forgotten who I was before incarnating and that I was finding my way back. Thanks for a beautiful post and apologize for the length of my response.

Oh wow Joseph thank you so much for sharing that with me, I hope other readers read this too.
And I can not tell you how your own experience mirrored something very similar that happened to me with a young baby that was perhaps around 9 mths old, sitting too in his mothers shopping trolley.. Our eyes met at the check out counter, and Instant recognition .. The childs eyes were deep Blue like the ocean on a clear day almost turquoise .. And as our eyes locked the child a boy.. Screeched out in laughter .. I acknowledged him mentally as being here for some important purpose and his eyes never left my own all the while until I had to move away.. His Mother was oblivious to the proceedings as I just made the usual noises of how beautiful a child she had and how beautiful his smile and eyes were..
So I totally could picture that encounter Joseph.. Totally.. and so happy you shared it xx 🙂

I remember I share that experience with a fellow blogger some years back.. And while there are those of us who experience LOVE, I have also experienced the opposite too.. Where a stranger pulls from you your energy that can hit you like a brick.. We forget lots of things the eye can not behold are also happening within our energy bodies. I have also had an attachment, that took some shaking.. But those are for another day.. 🙂 🙂

Each time I stepped into my fears the more open I became Sue. It is the only thing in this conditional world that holds us back. And of course it is meant to so that we can understand and appreciate that self love in our journey. And each time I faced something, more would ‘come through’.
Like the amazing encounter from ‘thespiritkeeper’, we touch more and more beauty like that because we have finally opened ourselves to it, broken down those walls, and become closer to what is our natural state ❤
Great post again kind lady, that if we 'let go' of this modern world and become like the nature of this world, we will resonate in that very space…like your lovely rainbows ❤

More and more I get to come to this understanding.. And oh yes, once we do, the rainbows certainly glow!.. Thank you again Mark.. So, the dreamers are more likely to let there sixth sense to its work. I can only agree. I was a big dreamer as a child and again later after I realized how important it is to have dreams and live dreams. Only when I let my dreams more happen my sixth sense came through… and I have had lots of wonderful and stunning experiences. Let’s keep dreaming… 💖

    Hi Sue,
Thank you so much for creating a gorgeous badge and now writing such a lovely, post that takes the reader a bit deeper into yor heart. I loved your morning ” meditation where all your senses were deeply engaged. The prisms are so amazing!

I deliberately left out the sixth sense in my challenge proposal because I wanted to focus on the ” gifts” of incarnating in the physical, suggesting we may lack the 5 senses when no longer in form. I am a huge fan of intuition and it gets stronger the more I pay attention and nurture its development. As a Taurus, you are typically attuned to the sensual world and are more likely to savor this world with delight and respect. Clearly, this is the case 🙂

Thanks for joining in and composing such a marvelous post.

And I am so happy your own is more finely tuned.. For I feel we were given our five senses, to help us develop our sixth.. 😉

I believe that we all have been blessed with the sixth sense but it depends on how much we nurture and fine-tune it to make it work. It lies dormant till we let it explore the world from a different angle. I agree with you dear friend, ‘without the dreams, we have no vision’ and vision needs wild imagination, running amuck across fields, mountains and oceans.
Thank you for this delightfully refreshing post. Stay blessed and please take care of your eye.

Sue, it was with joy that I read your post this morning. 😀 My routine in the early hush of dawn seems to mirror yours a bit…I nod hello to our robin out on the lawn, tap on the window to let the cat from next door know I’m awake and once she’s gone the smaller birds flock to the feeder. On sunny days I love to watch the play of light between the leaves in the trees…particularly colourful this time of year.

All our senses are so important and integral to our daily lives…I do suffer from a disease of the cornea which with time will need a transplant and the symptoms affect my vision and head to a certain extent already…everday I am thankful to see! I see from the comments that you have had eye problem yourself. Is it sorted now? Did you have an operation? Sending healing hugs xx

Awesome post, Sue! I loved the description of the morning, and I ‘saw’ it played out as a movie in my head!
And I so agree about our sixth sense, the sense of knowing, intuition. I can’t really recall very clearly some of my experiences with it, but I know I’ve had some. Sigh..I do need to start meditating again..it’s been too long…too long.

Lovely post, Sue. As for sixth senses, I must say I’ve used sight more than most. But sight is not separate from a kinesthetic felt sense, as well. I see/feel into the depth of things – into fields of immediate possibility beyond fences of denial and fear. In this case, seeing is perceiving. I like your visionary seeing, though it’s not my personal strength. I am glad for people like you. ❤

I love your non-fiction writing, too! As I read, it unfolded just like a story. Then reading about little rainbows and the beautiful little birds, yes…you activated my senses. I’m glad you mentioned gratitude for the senses. I’m reading “The Magic” this month and doing 28 days of gratitude. One of the exercises is to thank our bodies and senses for everything they do.
Funny…that book mentions nothing about the sixth sense, but I suppose that wouldn’t appeal to the book’s intended audience, haha. Still…I am grateful for my intuition.
The 6th sense. Since I started meditating so much, I feel this sense so much more. I really try to listen to my gut feeling on something. Do I listen correctly all the time? Oh lawd, absolutely not. I have so much to learn about it. But I really think time spent in meditation really helps.
Something else I would love to develop is clairvoyance – because I know we’re all psychic, too. I’ve thought about doing guided meditations after the LIFE project on that. I dunno..me and my explorations. lol I’m always exploring, learning…taking it all in.
I know you have a highly developed 6th sense. You can “feel” it. And the beautiful energy you put into your work and artwork, your beautiful sixth sense gets to be shared with others.
Sending you big hugs, sweet friend! Here’s to many more wonderful stories – both fiction and non-fiction. 💝

Cynthia, I just went over to your blog and wow. loved your flash fiction piece.. Very enlightening in many ways..
Oh I have no doubts at all Cynthia that you have lots of abilities for Clairvoyance, You already I feel are clairsentient. And all things come in succession as our awareness to our senses heighten. And not one of us is perfect, or we would not be in our Earth Life of discovery lol.. So I learn and grow daily..
So happy you enjoyed my intro to this piece. I seriously need to do more meditative work again.. I can get very lax with it.. I sleep instead lol 🙂 But feel some progress is being made in sleep state so do not overly worry about it.. 😀 I am what I am, and it is what it is.. 🙂
Sending Hugs and Much love back xxx Take care of you.. ❤ Sue

Wow! I LOVED this!!! I felt like I was there you and absorbing in your morning surroundings. The sights and the smells! Sue, I love how feathers and rainbows showed up in this together, too. How marvelously you have woven together the senses and lead us to the 6th. Probably my favorite post of yours right now….

Hi, Sue; I’ve been by from time to time but it’s ages since I left a comment. Thanks for this post; it’s very evocative. I enjoy all my senses, too, but I’d have to say I use some more than others. Or perhaps it’s just that I’m far more aware of some on a regular basis. Sight and hearing especially (and music most of all for the hearing). I do try to practise being in the moment and use my senses to help with that.

As to other senses, I’ve had premonitory dreams on several occasions, and teaching dreams more than that, even. Dreams of spiritual meaning are always experienced as if I were inside a stained glass room; the colours of everything just ‘glow’. These are dreams that stay with me and I’ve never had to write them down. Teaching dreams are more like everyday life as to colours. I’ve also experienced a sort of inner ‘knowing’ a few times and when I paid attention to that and did whatever it was I was contemplating, the results were outstanding. For some years now, due to stress and life changes, I’ve felt far from that ‘knowing’. Then, after a series of decisions about dealing with the rest of my life, I decided not to dwell in sadness, but to Choose Joy every day and also to be creative every day. Creativity is vital to me. Since that decision (and I ‘did’ follow up on it), I seem to have returned to the ‘inner knowing’; not every moment, but as needed. The tricky bit can be to trust it when others who have other viewpoints are telling me that I’m foolish or making mistakes. We’ll see . . . at the moment, things seem to be coming together in a smooth, flowing fashion and I do trust that.
I was sorry to hear you’d had eye problems and glad you are healing. I’ll keep you in my prayers.

As to the current state of affairs in the world at large, there are times I feel anxious, but Rhonda Byrne says that we don’t have to be positive all the time to tip the balance; just 51% of the time LOL. I have come to an understanding that the government in the USA is actually not such a bad thing, as it is acting as a catalyst. People are beginning to act, to think, to question, to band together to Raise the Vibe (facebook page), to heal and empower each other and the world in general. I’m not sure we would have been so moved without a virtual ‘kick in the pants’, if you know what i mean. So I am grateful for that government and really, all governments (as well as the earth in general and all people in it), and I do surround everyone with Light and Love when I meditate and pray. I feel the difficult people have volunteered for those roles, to help us prepare for the next step in our spiritual growth and development. I also feel we should thank them for the service they are giving. It’s easy to ge tcaught up in the news, the political stuff, all that. But when we step back and look at a more cosmic picture, we are all where we should be and what we experience is what we need in the moment. If we choose to learn and grow, we will no longer need these virtual ‘kicks’. Sort of like a teenager choosing to come in before their curfew; we don’t ground them for that. But those who are defiant or careless about the rules . . . I feel we can choose willingly to learn and grow or else we can do that the harder way. It’s u[ to us, really. And I see more people choosing to learn and grow than not. So it’s looking good in the long run . . . Love and Light to you, Sue. take good care of yourself and thanks for all the food for thught. My favourite sort of post. ~ Linne

Hmmm! A very interesting post, Sue. I think your sixth sense is tied up with your intuition and ability to look and really see the things around you. I think creative people look at everything more closely and that opens the senses to seeing more in everything we do. Lots of people only see the task immediately at hand. Have a lovely day, my friend.

There is something about prisms that lights up my soul. I think it began as a child, watching the movie Pollyanna. Did you ever see it? Pollyanna brings a set of prisms to the grouchy old lady who never smiled. But prisms woke her up into happiness. Something about the way they catch the light and bring rainbows into the room. A year ago I bought a new chandelier (I try to be non-materialistic, but this all-glass prism-like ceiling light I’ve lusted over). As the afternoon light shines in the dining room, I just stand there and use my senses to allow the rainbow light fill me with joy.

As I sit here, enjoying my morning coffee, and reading your post, Sue, I am reminded of the light, love, and beauty surrounding us. Your images and narrative are lovely. We also have a crystal hanging by one of our windows and it is pure entertainment to watch its colors change in the sunshine. And you’re right, it’s so easy to take our senses for granted, so when you think of all you enjoy doing, it would be difficult to continue without those valuable senses and abilities.
I was late in reading your last post, but I hope your eye is better by now. Sending lots of love and healing hugs your way…xoxo

Lovely write my friend. I am just back from CA and had a good visit with my dad who will be 94 in a few short days now. I am hoping your eye is better, therefore allowing you to do the things you love. i have very poor eyesight, have had (what they call floaters) for years now and now the beginnings of cataracts. Do not drive at night if I can at all prevent it. I already miss the sun and so loved being able to walk outside and sit in it nearly every day. Went to my favorite beach as my sister drove me there and enjoyed it so much. I will always be in my heart a CA girl who loves the ocean beaches there. xoxo

Good to hear Sue and glad you only have one floater in one eye. I have had many of them for many years in both eyes and with age they only seem to worsen and now getting cataracts. But at least still can see fairly well with my glasses. Have worn them since age 10, now trifocals. But we do need our eyes don’t we! I didn’t sit on the beach but did walk into the surf a bit and a wave bigger than I thought got me wet on all of my legs so Capri was quite soaked but I loved it. Use to live in that water in the sun growing up. Of course, now I am back in WA the lack of sun warmth and rain is quite dismal. No matter how many years I have lived here I do not feel quite well in the Winter months but my children and grandchildren and now artificial heart valve keep me here. Sending you much love my friend and hope this finds you well. xoxo

This is such a well-written post, and I absolutely love the play on words and how the words flowed so seamlessly into each other. It is amazing to hear you are in tune with your sixth sense…that is something I have always come and gone for me. I wonder why. Maybe at different times of our lives we are more in tune with ourselves and are better at controlling how we feel and react. Some days I wonder what is that and where it is 🙂

‘Where we can leave the past in the past, as we embrace and engage in the experience of Now’ Such a great line here. Past is past. While the past can influence on who we are in the present, it is how we choose in the present and that helps us engage in the Now and be there in the very moment. Sending you positive vibes across the miles ❤

Many thanks for that dear Mabel, Yes the past make us who we are today, but many people live in the past, or holding onto regrets, and grudges, which prevents them from growing in their Now..
Enjoy ALL of your Now Moments Mabel.. Thank you for that beautiful comment and love and Hugs my friend ❤

“And when we do, people are fearful of it, so you either tend to hide this ability or if you are a child, you are soon told it is nonsense and it is not to be practised” YES! So resonates for me Sue. I thankfully never completely lost touch with it but certainly shut it down and pretended I couldn’t hear/see things ‘otherworldly’ to try fit in and really, to feel safe in this world where people can get angry from hearing ‘unexplainable’ things. I started consciously re-connecting to my 6th sense in my late teens but still didn’t fully embrace some of the more ‘out there’ aspects of working with spirit until maybe 10 years ago when I realised embracing all parts of myself is the easiest way forward- and that I cared more about being the real me than fitting in with others! 🙂 It has been wonderful to find your beautiful dreamer self; it’s amazing how you shine so much light and love in the world, I am very happy to be part of your online community. Much love and as always, thanks for sharing your beautiful words.xo
