Altering The System.

My Time this next week is going to be busy with time spent in nature… So I thought to repost this old poem, which I originally posted in 2016.. Amazing how our older poems and writings seem even more relevant today.

Each of us as Humans live within our boxes

Looking at a world in which it locks us

Conforming and oppressing, feeling victimized

Not seeing the bigger picture yet to be realised

Court room whispers of judgement.
Court room whispers of judgement. Inveraray Jail~Scotland

So many of us shout about the wrong ‘out there’

While many do not understand or seem to care

That to alter ‘The System’ so many shout is wrong

We need to re-programme our thinking, letting LOVE be our song

If the system ‘out there’ isn’t working anymore

It’s our job to create a new one, let your Mind be the door

For we ALL hold the keys to turn the ‘Light’ on in our hearts

We just need to reach within as we UNITE to do our part.

To break down the barriers of injustice and suppression

We need to go ‘Within’ to look at our own expression

For it’s our limited beliefs which Keep us in those boxes

So let us break old programming which traps and locks us.

Every piece of The System out there which is causing Pain

Was first created ‘within’ by our thoughts within OUR brains.

Creating from ‘within’ to our ‘outward’ reality

When we open our hearts to love we will cease to be causalities

So as we see the breakdowns of systems around our world

It’s because another has awoken allowing love to unfurl

So don’t get stuck within the energy of ‘Fight’

Create a New System- Open your hearts to the Light.

If we gave up the internal Battle, of Need, Mine and Want

To embrace a different dialog of UNITY to flaunt

To know we’re not fragmented but are segments of the Whole

As we Remember at Last- We are heavenly celestial Souls.

The above poem I wrote in 2016 as the Universe thought to teach another lesson in Letting go at that time.. As my computer had to be repaired and was swiped back to factory settings as a new hard drive was installed.. Thankfully I saved my poems elsewhere..

I thought to add this old post to some of the photo’s I took within the old Prison I visited in Scotland some years back at Inveraray Jail

The Jails story can be found HERE

A most important post. I read it, of course, from an American perspective. Here, we are so focused on fixing a dysfunctional system. But the problem is really in the collective hearts of so many people — that would include most of us, I suppose — who are stuck in this us-versus-them mentality. In America, we love to talk about justice, but we are stuck in an attitude of judgment. We are so intent on punishment and retribution for every transgression, large or small, real or imagined. In America, we often say that leadership and change doesn’t come from the top down, it comes from the bottom up. But I’m sure you are correct, Sue, it comes from within the human heart. We seem to have a lot of broken hearts.

Thank you for that John.. Your thoughts are always important. And I value what you have said here.
Looking from the outsider into the USA at the moment it is being projected just the way you have described it.

So many who are crying out for Change, so long as the change isn’t hitting their lives or pockets.. It is as I look in from the outside In a nation of rich multicultural backgrounds, with opportunities of healing so many wrongs throughout the history of its beginnings..
Yet it holds fast like lots of other nations to the ‘Old ways’ of Being.. Not moving in Unity.. But building barriers of distinction which grows ever wider with the haves and have nots..

It is in my own opinion a powder keg, like other nations who are not embracing unity but continually shouting out about their differences..
At the end of the day we are all ONE Race.. The Human Race..

I will add Sangeetas comment here she said it perfectly.

Brilliant, dear Sue. You nailed it! Reminded me of the expression, ” we see our own faults magnified in others”. If we only look inside of us, we would realize we are all part of the same fabric, and to hurt others or to constantly cry foul is to ultimately point fingers at, or hurt ourselves.”…

      Thank you again John

Being an Australian Sue, I thought I would have this great story to follow back in time to find a history of ships, chains and a dark past that I am now paying for in my karma.
Well, I got the boat bit right (no planes then 😀 )….but apparently I came over from England from good stock….potterer’s would you believe, a very middle class trade. Mind you, that may have just been the story that my family passed down to build some respect, when in fact we were mass murderers or something 🙂
Great post, and I’m very thankful to not be in jail…in any timeframe 🙂

🙂 laughing here Mark.. Potters, very acceptable profession . 🙂 And I am sure even those who were sent over in ‘Chains’ many were decent people who had fallen on hard times..
I read lots of small stories on the wall of those who were starving who were caught trying to feed their families who were transported. It struck me that the ‘System’ hasn’t changed much.. There are still those who ‘Lord’ it over others who have more than enough who make the rules.. While those lesser souls have to make do and mend and conform or be penalised. 😉 ..
Glad you can trace your family history. 🙂 I think my family name originated in France.. 🙂 We are ALL ONE at the end of the day 🙂 lol
Lovely to see you Mark.. Thank you for all your input into my posts..

Agreed Ina. Once you begin to see we have no control over changing others.. Other than by altering and changing our own ways of being and perceptions, we then accelerate Change globally..
We are seeing that very change right now. This is why People are kicking up such a fuss, because they Fear Change..
When we look back throughout History, we see we are on a merry-go-round of perpetual ‘Fight’ Those wishing to ‘Control’ those wishing to hang on to their ‘Greed’ and those not wishing to share.. ” The Battle of Need, Mine and Want”
Its hard, yes I so agree, but it is going to get harder still, if we do not wake up to ourselves.
Thank you Ina.. Your input and comments are so very much appreciated my friend.

I think we probably agree, dear Sue, that the ‘system’, as you call it – the current socio-political-economic paradigm – is very broken, and past its beneficial life-span (perhaps some good came in its technological advances). What will follow still seems very unclear to me, although I sense that we shall face much turbulence and strife before the new paradigm settles in peace. In truth, of course, nobody knows; but change, in one form or another, is just around the corner. H ❤

Yes sadly I agree with you Hariod. Our History shows us through the ages, we build and destroy… I wonder about the Phoenix rising out of the ashes. And wonder whether it will be our Earth Mother or ourselves that will breathe those flames to ignite our passion to change our ways for a Peaceful Path to unfold in the distant future world of Earth. Or will the ‘Hard-Drive’ need to be wiped clean to start anew!? 😉
It seems our Humanoid selves are still held fast within our primitive origins.. I so hope for that new paradigm Hariod… I am forever the optimist 🙂 but the realist in me knows it is still a very long way off.
Love and Blessings my friend.. I so appreciate your thoughts.

Rotten system, injustice in and out of prisons,Sue,very thoughtful your post and your poem,I am glad you saved most of your work after the breakdown of your “communication system” ….Different the system in every society but manipulated probably by the same centres.Big and hot the issue you brought out.The change you are talking is urgent, but it delays .. I am sure you know John Donne’s poem,

‘For whom the bell tolls” (No man is an island) …
    No man is an island,
    Entire of itself.
Each is a piece of the continent,
    A part of the main.
If a clod be washed away by the sea,
    Europe is the less.
As well as if a promontory were.
As well as if a manor of thine own
    Or of thine friend’s were.
    Each man’s death diminishes me,
For I am involved in mankind.
    Therefore, send not to know
    For whom the bell tolls,
    It tolls for thee…..

“Oneness” has Power … It is so late now,see you tomorrow again, dear friend 🙂 xxx

Philosophical poem, Sue, in keeping with our world view at the age and time we are now in, duly enhanced by pics of the courtroom and Inveraray Jail of Scotland. Clearly, the option is up to us whether to remain incarcerated within walls of avarice and hatred, or to open out to infinite potential of love and inclusiveness, to be limited to narrow confines of dogma and divisiveness or to stretch one’s arms towards horizons of universal oneness.

I love your positivity Sue…thinking of altering the system, which has been controlled by morons who grab every possibility to manipulate it in their favor and have succeeded despite that ‘love’ we disseminate to delude ourselves and all those who live in the hope of getting justice, fair treatment and wait in those inhuman conditions of prison.
Just reprogramming our thinking is not enough!

I remember taking photographs like this back in 1974 when I visited the London Dungeon. And the Tower – well, I couldn’t even go up there. It remains one of the worst misuses of human creativity, that we would choose clever ways to torture one another. Yet the most pernicious torture is surely that which we do to ourselves first. All actions flow from that.

Each of us, carries within us the capacity to change the world in small ways for better or worse. Everything we do and think affects the people in our lives, and their reactions in turn affect others As the effect of a seemingly insignificant word passes from person to person, its impact grows and can become a source of great joy, inspiration, anxiety, or pain. Your thoughts and actions are like stones dropped into still waters, causing ripples to spread and expand as they move outward.. I hope that I can send a few ripples out via the web of life, as we each of us weave the threads together... Welcome to my Sanctuary of Peace and Love... May we each spread our Lights around our World....Sue Dreamwalker
