The Healing Wood ~ 1

Walking in the woods

Walking in the woods

Nature Heals

Sometimes when the world gets too much

As our inner mind chews over such and such

Take yourself off for a walk

~

When the doubts roll in

Creating that internal din

Take yourself off for a walk……..

My thanks go to Kim over at Silentlyheardonce  who is a wonderful poet. Kim asked if I would take part in the 5 day photo challenge.. While I have given up accepting Awards this challenge is an easy one for me to take part in, as I had a set of photo’s I was going to post. But now with this challenge I will  add a poem I wrote a few years ago now a couple of verses at a time to each photo.. And bring you the last photo with the complete poem at the end.

The Rules are as follows..

Here are the rules for the “Five Photos Five Stories” challenge: “Post a photo each day for five consecutive days and attach a story to the photo. It can be fiction or non-fiction, a poem or a short paragraph and each day nominate another blogger for the challenge.
(Sporadic posting is alright if you’re unable to post each day.)

My nomination for this first photo challenge is Jo over at Chronicles of Illusion

Wishing everyone a beautiful weekend..

Its a Bank Holiday long weekend here in the UK so I will see you soon as my posts will be scheduled over the next few days..

Blessings

~Sue~

I had a pleasant morning walk in the woods while reading your poem dear Sue!
I set my thoughts and emotions free and enjoyed the uplifting joys in the intimate world of the forest where we effortlessly perceive the Ethereal.I pulled aside the boughs of the lofty trees in your photo and got a glimpse of heaven.Couldn’t have found a better place for meditation!Enjoy your Bank Holiday near nature and let your posts wait for next week.Love & Blessings to You & Yours ❤ ,Doda xxx

Bless you Doda.. I have had my lovely family and Granddaughter visit all morning, and yes we have plans for tomorrow even though it may be raining.. the rain never stops us exploring somewhere different.. And I am working my way through some posts I have neglected along with trying to put the finishing touches to the future posts.. I have been idle on WP for a while.. As the Allotments and harvesting has kept me busy.. An Update on Dreamwalker’s Garden I hope to post soon.. 🙂 Love and Blessings and thank you for that wonderful comment.. ❤ ❤ ❤

We are human beings not machines,we all need some idle hours or days. Our bodies, our brains need these breaks to recharge before starting to function properly again. You know all these better than anybody else. But,I know the feeling, some times we feel guilty when we keep away from the social network sites.
Hope you enjoy some lovely walks near nature either with rain or with soft sunshine!Love & Bright Blessings to You & Yours & especially to Your Granddaughter 🙂 ❤ Doda xxx ❤

You can have all you need… I think we have had enough for today, but still it comes 🙂 And that is why I only like really Hot weather for a few weeks vacation at a time.. It gets too unbearable with no light and shade in the weather 🙂 x

Great picture DW…It brings to mind the word ‘glade’. Nature is like a huge breath of fresh ‘being’….It revives the soul. Bet that was a wonderful walk you took in that picture…Happy weekending! Hugs and love…VK

We are surrounded by wild forest including several acres of beautiful trees on our property. Strolling through the trees, the dogs scampering around, is just magical. Gorgeous poem!

    Hi Sue! 🙂

Lovely to see your poetry in action! 🙂

Ian (Emu) nominated me, but I’m too brain fried to do it. 😦

What I’d give to be normal again… 😦

    Love and hugs!

Prenin I do not believe your brain is fried.. LOL… Not when you race around the circuit lol and no doubt win occasionally LOL.. 🙂 And you never know if you do not give it a try.. The one thing when growing up my Mother would teach us, is that there is no such word as ‘Can’t’ Its taught me to try out many things.. ( I even laid lino in the bathroom one time .. It took me all day and a lot of words that I don’t usually utter LOL,, But I did it.. 🙂 hahaha… Now your Laughing I bet ) .. Squishy hugs right back at you xxx

    Hi Sue,
This poem reminds me of the lines I penned down, inspired from walk in the woods…so rejuvenating!
    Misty mornings…
    Eerie silence, long walks
    Through the woods
What is this place? So familiar!
    Nostalgia is painfully pleasant.

Okay then…I am in. Your poem is perfect. I often find myself heading out for a walk when the world becomes overwhelming. I never fail to feel my spirit lighten and it is often the case that I feel Nature lay her healing hands on my heart and soul and while easing whatever may be troubling me also fills me with a sense of peace and hope.

I have not strolled the woods in a long time but your photo and post call it to my attention. It does bring peace to ones nature though I look out my back door and gaze at the stand of woods and feel that just the seeing of it calms me. Thanks for the reminder. I should so love to be able to fill the car and see where it leads me. Those days are long gone. I’ll be thinking of you and smiling.

We headed for somewhere more local but where we hadn’t been in a few years…. our walk took us through more woods and we walked for 2 and a Half hours… Now I am back home and thought I would answer comments for a while.. I took some photo’s too so hope to be sharing them soon. 🙂

Woke up this morning with a promise to get myself out and walk and I’m glad I did. There’s something about the mixture of nature, mornings and walks … each dose helps, like you said, to heal! Lots of love and have a beautiful Sunday dear Sue.

A lovely piece of advice in verse Sue and your picture compliments it beautifully.
I am also doing the five day pic post, I find it more enjoyable and easier than passing on awards, which I am not a fan off.

Yes, it’s quite easy to step into that picture via the power ofyour words and one’s own imagination. It’s like stepping into a loving embrace of a cacoon.

Glad I had time for a visit, as this is so comforting. Thanks!

These are beautiful words Sue. I can’t wait to read the rest and digest it entirely. Thank you for participating in the challenge. We seem have close holidays we have a thre day weekend next week. Labor Day. Marking the end of summer, a day for all laborers to rest. The people from the Caribbean have parade where they dress in customes. Thet’ve been doing this for so many years that they don’t know it’s an American holiday. They often suprised when they learn I celebrate. 🙂

Each of us, carries within us the capacity to change the world in small ways for better or worse. Everything we do and think affects the people in our lives, and their reactions in turn affect others As the effect of a seemingly insignificant word passes from person to person, its impact grows and can become a source of great joy, inspiration, anxiety, or pain. Your thoughts and actions are like stones dropped into still waters, causing ripples to spread and expand as they move outward.. I hope that I can send a few ripples out via the web of life, as we each of us weave the threads together... Welcome to my Sanctuary of Peace and Love... May we each spread our Lights around our World....Sue Dreamwalker
