Meaningful Monday’s~ Bullying~

When I  was in school  in the days before the internet, I knew what it was to be bullied at an All Girls School, by girls in the school.

I was the child with a home-made gingham summer  school uniform that my mother had made. It had  an extra  deep, doubled rolled hem and a bought lace collar along with pres-studs down the front. With buttons sewn on top. At first I was so proud of my new dress, because it had a fancy collar made of lace, not plain like the others. And I proudly went off to my new School aged 11.My dress started out miles too big. But  each year as I grew the hem was let down, you could see the material hem marks of each layer…  And it was a good thing that it was in those later  years, the mini skirt was in fashion.

My winter skirt, was the same, and by the time I left school, aged Fifteen,  it was shiny black with the amounts of washing and ironing.. It was then passed down to my  middle sister  who also had to wear it.

That dress got me into so much trouble. The headmistress had me in her office often, as she would single me out of assembly, making me blush, and cry, as she stood me in front of the whole assembly, not once but often telling me that is not the correct uniform. She would single another pupil out who wore the correct uniform and continue her verbal lashings of the Do’s and Don’ts of what not to wear.

I would go home with a letter from the headmistress and my mother would rip it up and say, we cannot afford new dresses, that is why my red and white checked gingham dress was home-made in the first place.  I became to feel ashamed of the dress, ashamed of my shape, and felt everyone was looking at me. I learnt too who were friends, and who were not, as my uniform was made fun of.

Children can be so cruel, and we as adults should know better.. But we are talking in the days when corporal punishment was allowed  and it was normal to  have the chalk board rubber thrown at you if you were lacking paying attention!.

That summer dress I kid you not lasted me the whole four years at secondary school, it  fit where it touched. My Shoes also lasted for three years, they were second-hand off a cousin to start with, and filled with cotton wool because they were too big, and when at last the sole got worn and had a hole in them, I though yipppeee!… Now I get a new pair,  But no, my Dad re-soled them..  And for many years, I always felt~ Unworthy.. For it seemed my middle sister and I had to make do, while my three other siblings  always seemed to have newer things.

Words Wound, and scar, and leave those who are bullied feeling so hurt and alone.. imagine being in today’s climate on your phone or computer in your own safe environment and how that impacts upon a young child or teenager who is already feeling insecure ..

Where ever I go, what ever I do, I try to become aware of how my words may impact upon another, I am not always successful, I have my outbursts too..  But I try to leave Kindness, Upliftment, and Praise for others… If we all found just one small thing in which to compliment another human being, What a difference that could make to their feelings of worthiness.

We are all responsible for our thoughts, words, deeds and actions..

Lets Make a Difference with the ones we use..

Nature Heals

Sometimes when the world gets too much

As our inner mind chews over such and such

Take yourself off for a walk

Creating that internal din

Letting Go, and Be Happy!

Letting Go.

I’m going to start with a short story from a book

[“Called 15 ways to be a Happier You.”.Tia –Chi  Chi Kung]

By Peter Chin Kean Choy.

Quote.

Feeling bad may not have been a conscious choice, But what about feeling bad, about feeling bad?

A businessman came to see me and shared how everything around him had collapsed. He was financially bankrupt, his relationships had broken up, bills and debts flooded his desk. On top of that he was an alcoholic and his health was poor.

As the seconds ticked by, John recounted his miseries again and again. It was like a vicious wheel, everything he thought he shared revolved around the centre of his suffering. As he talked, I pointed to my watch and commented, ‘John, no one could deny you the right to feel that you are in a bad situation. And now…. You were in a bad situation… each moment passing by, you have a choice how to choose to be….now and now… and now, three seconds have just passed by…. how you choose to be now is your choice..

He listened, he took some deep sighs and realised—perhaps for the first time in his life—that he had this freedom of choice. He replied, ‘I think I know what you are saying. It is like compounding interest in the bank. Each moment of negativity can be compounded’.

I responded, ‘You’ve got it John, You could feel bad about having felt bad and the next moment, you could feel bad about feeling bad about having felt bad, about having felt bad…Or  you could actually release that old pattern and start anew this moment… and this moment.. and this moment now.”

End Quote.

There is a John inside all of us who at one time or another gives up hope and feels really down. If you are in such a situation now, gently accept how you are feeling. You did the best you could. Your bad feelings of feeling bad about feeling bad were simply your way of coping with the situation and you want the situation to get better.

Here is a visualization for you to do..

You are your own inner gardener with the ability to compost your negative thoughts and feelings,

Visualise that you are sitting in a beautiful garden.. See all the beauties of this garden See all your blessings and give thanks for them Then..See to one side of you beautiful garden in the corner some magic compost bins.

They are always here to use, day or night. All you have to do is your letting go exercise.. Imagine you are letting go of any negative feelings by placing them gently into your compost bin. Know that over a period of time your bin will turn all those ugly thoughts and transform them into a rich ‘black Gold’ to once again enrich and make your garden grow. Knowing that through your experience you will be stronger. Trust that once you have put the negative thought into the bin it will be dealt with.

If you are not a gardener.. Then why not visualise a huge Angel hand.. and you place all  your worries and negative thoughts into Gods hands. And it will be taken and dispersed of as the angels feel fit.

H.A.P.P.Y.

H.A.P.P.Y.  Me being Happy..

Also clearing out the old and making way for the new.. Recycle all the things you no longer use, give them away or give to charities.. see how good it makes you feel.

Start a garden.. it doesn’t have to be a big one, potted plants, a herb garden. Compost your own vegetable wastes. Feel good about making something grow, And then let that feeling grow inside of you.

Lupins in the pots and along at the end some Dahlias and Gladioli, for cut flowers in the autumn. Behind you can see the rows of garlic which was planted as cloves in October now growing.

Watch a funny film. Laughter is truly a magical medicine. There are many ways of ‘Letting go’.

I am re-learning again to let go of all the feelings and emotions that I have let build, which I know has contributed to letting the ‘stress’ build which I know has made me feel ill.

One of the first Qi Gong Exercises is to find your peaceful happy self by releasing and letting go…..  Even if you do not know how to do Qi Gong.. You all know how to breathe..

Breathe in deeply and evenly and as you breathe out release and let go.. Put all your problems into that bin or into God’s hands and you will soon find how lighter you will feel… I imagine all my problems as grey particles or smoke coming from within as I breathe out. Why not give it a try and see how you can Breathe yourself to a more peaceful and happier you.

Have a Wonderful Weekend

Finding our Balance..

Life%20LightWhen was it that you felt your natural state of being as vibrant, and happy to be alive?

Recently I had to take myself off for a very long walk, to draw upon Mother Nature to put that Zing back into my step..

I still had a few Crystals which I had cleansed at theLittle Grandmother gathering in Wales last month that I wanted to give back to Mother Earth, and I found myself upon the wonderful river bank in Lathkill Dale in the National Derbyshire Peak District. And I sent a prayer to our Mother Earth, giving her thanks for all her wonderful bounties and sent her some healing thoughts.. I threw the crystal in the river near to a weir, and watched it plop and settle upon the clear gravel bed and it glistened in the sunlight under the fast flowing water… And I felt like I too had been healed and cleansed as the water washed over it..

I was amazed at how glum I had been feeling and run down and worn out. This does not mean that we are lazy or unfit for the tasks in our lives; it means that we need to recharge our batteries from time to time, and find a way of keeping them charged. I needed to recharge the way I was thinking, I recently left my last employment of almost7yrs, I now find myself in limbo awaiting my new employment start date for several weeks now and I couldn’t help but feel sad for those I had left behind. And I hadn’t realised just how down I had been feeling..

While Vitamins and extra rest can be very helpful in restoring our physical bodies, if we delve deeper, we may discover that there is an underlying cause for our exhaustion.
Whenever you are feeling run down, take an honest look at how you have been thinking, feeling and acting. You will likely find a belief, behaviour pattern or even a relationship that is out of alignment with who you really are.

Perhaps you believe you have to be perfect at everything or you have been bending over backwards to get people to like you or serving other peoples needs. Maybe you are dealing with mild depression or simply have too much on your plate right now. There may also be people or situations in your life which are draining your energy. Once you get clear on the root cause, you can weed it out and better direct your flow of energy in the future.

That is what I needed to do.. Weed out my thoughts, so as I sat upon the river bank I said thank you for all those precious gifts we all at times take so much for granted.. and I looked into my feelings and why I had had felt so down.

I usually try to be a very positive person, but it is so easy to fall into that negative trap and let it crowd in and clutter your thoughts with obstacles.. Instead I have turned them around to embrace the Changes before me.. For Change is so often what we resist, because we are unsure of the future which brings its own fear factor… But if we don’t allow the Changes to flow, we become static and stale, and we do not grow and progress.

Life is about experience.. And at last my head is in gear… Maybe it’s the Sun of the Spring Days we now are in, that we breath in the Air our Mother Earth gives for Free…But I’m reminded how she gives us every breath.. in her Breath-taking World of beauty..And how very much we need her.. And we need to honour and respect Nature and all living creatures..

We have lost our way in so many things here in this materialistic world where many put possessions and profit before people..We have for the most part Forgotten who we are and have long forgotten how to embrace the Joy of Living..
So for any of you who might notice that the reasons you feel run down have less to do with how much you are doing and more to do with the fact of what is in your heart, you may try doing something else entirely. Even if it’s just taking yourself out into nature for a while..

Why not try and listen to what your heart really wants. It may take meditation, or just a moment of silent thought, tuning in to gain the clarity you need, but it is well worth the effort. When you know what you truly want to do, and honour that in all situations, you will find that getting run down is a thing of the past, when we truly look at Life in a new perspective and allow our energy to balance once again.

Each of us, carries within us the capacity to change the world in small ways for better or worse. Everything we do and think affects the people in our lives, and their reactions in turn affect others As the effect of a seemingly insignificant word passes from person to person, its impact grows and can become a source of great joy, inspiration, anxiety, or pain. Your thoughts and actions are like stones dropped into still waters, causing ripples to spread and expand as they move outward.. I hope that I can send a few ripples out via the web of life, as we each of us weave the threads together... Welcome to my Sanctuary of Peace and Love... May we each spread our Lights around our World....Sue Dreamwalker
