I have contacted Askimet and hope they can sort it.. it appears also my own spam box isnt getting any spam at all.. and yet I would get 100’s a week..
I know before my Spam box went quiet I was also unspamming regular commentors from WP.. as I used to check my Spam box regular until it became so quiet.
Is anyone else getting this problem?

Yikes! I just empty my spam a couple of times a day without even checking. I did check initially, but I now get so much spam that I gave up bothering to look given that I’d never had a genuine comment appear there before. The main problem I hear reiterated time and again is email notifications failing. Barely a week goes by without me coming across at least one blog owner who complains of that issue, and I’ve experienced it myself too.

Thank you Hariod, I got an email back from the Akismit people who said they have now sorted the problem.. Lets hope so.. I am not going to comment until tomorrow on peoples blogs.. The comments from my own notifications are going OK.. its when I go direct on blogs that have been the problem… Fingers and toes crossed xxxx thank you my friend xxx

Update: since leaving my comment above, I have had a comment blocked by Akismet three times on my friend Karuna’s site, where I comment regularly. Akismet confirmed to her that it was their error. They are having a bad couple of days methinks. H ❤

It seems that way Hariod.. they apologised to me in an email.. and said all now sorted.. Sorry to hear you have also had the same probs… My spam box appears not to even be getting Spam.. and has been empty for about 2 weeks which is unusual as I get loads usually .. Maybe I should ask them why that is? but I dont wish to upset the apple cart just yet.. I await tomorrow to see if when I do my rounds my comments appear.. At least now I know where to go.. I had a merry-go-round trip trying to contact them initially xx Hugs Sue

Many Many thanks Karin, I also got a message from the Spam people who control spam.. It took me ages to get to email them. but someone was watching over me LOL.. they said all has now been sorted so I hope when I comment a fresh on peoples sites and not from my notifications all is ok.. 🙂 Phew… 🙂 Big relief !! ❤

No I know the problem that caused it Renard I left a link on a friends blog which spammed me.. she then immediately unspammed me.. but Akismet decided otherwise I was spam when I went on other peoples blogs to comment… I just clicked like upon your recent video up loads 🙂 thank you for responding I so appreciate it 🙂

Thank you Renard.. and I know you know lots of things technical about WP ect.. I did even consider asking you for advice if I got stuck.. but I followed a series of links to get to an email address and form to fill out my complaint.. It took me the best part of an hour.. But I recieved an email back saying It was now sorted.. although as yet I have not been blog hopping to find out.. Fingers crossed 🙂 And I will bare that advice in mind in future .. Thank you

Val I always looked in my spam box and have on occasion found many a friendly comment been placed in there.. Aksmet say they have now sorted it.. but I will refrain from commenting direct until tomorrow.. Comments have been fine back from my notification side panel.. … And one good thing since I mentioned it others have found friendly comments in their spam boxes too.. 🙂 so good had come out of it xx

On the weekend I discovered that every single site I manage that had an older version of Gravity Forms had been compromised. Okay, I’m way behind here. How do I find my spam box? I hate when things get bad and I have to take time off from reading your blogs Sue. Therapy is getting easier and I’m getting more movement in my shoulder with less pain (at least that’s what I tell myself) so I’m playing catch-up now. Thank you Angie, Ok first hover your mouse over the top left corner of your page where it says MY SITES.. look down and you will find a list, Click COMMENTS.. on the top of that page you will have PENDING APPROVED AND SPAM and then TRASH… click on Spam, you could have thousands in there just scroll down through each page you turn the pages by clicking the numbers either at the top or bottom of the spam page.. The instructions for clearing spam is on the page with Bulk actions etc..

Two days ago someone’s comment in my notifications disappeared in front of my eyes. And every time he tried to reply to a post, his comment disappeared. I contacted Word Press and they looked into it. The said sometimes Askimet labels something as spam that isn’t and to look in the spam box and mark them as not spam. It was strange because the comments weren’t at all spamy and the person responds to my posts regularly. About a month ago a comment disappeared as well. It isn’t in my spam or trash box now so I don’t know what happened to that one.

Yes nothing more disheartening when comments go unanswered.. It happens to me too.. You live and learn by the visits you make.. 🙂 I know I may be a couple of days delay in my own answers.. but I always try to reply to those who have taken the time to comment… I have been known to miss the odd one, as the comment panel can throw you sometimes, and this new side panel of notifications I can not get on with.. its not a patch on the old one..
