I have put together this post this evening as I received an email from the charity I support Save the Children today.. As I have been short on time, but felt the need to post.. I searched in my archive for a suitable poem to accompany the video which I was sent .
I wrote this poem back in 2010 about the state of our world.
Enjoy your weekend as you spare a thought and maybe your generosity to those in need..
Storm of Turmoil
The storm of turmoil has just begun
With paper money like tissue gone
Panic and Anger, Hate and loss
The storm does rage, like rag dolls were tossed
Leaders of Nations to whom we all look
A material world in which greed overtook
The balance addressed the dark and the Light
Brace yourselves for we’re in for a fight
Not only in Dollars and Pounds Sterling
But values of Life at every turning
The prophecies tell us that that in end of days
We should see changes, in many a way.
Watch out for the storms of river and sea
Hold onto your hats as the wind she’s mighty.
Open your hearts to those in foreign lands
As all they have to eat are grains of sand.
Where is the Love of our fellow man?
Is this life real? Or is it a sham?
Tell me my father in whose name we pray
What do we learn, what do we say
To those whose families are no longer here
To those whom they lost, in all they hold dear
Compassion is all that I have to give
Survival to those who learn how to live
With love in their hearts held out to each other
United in grief of a world under plunder.
In corruption and weapons, drugs and disease
Starvation and homeless, when will it ease?
I know it will end, for the New Age to follow
But please give us hope, for all our tomorrows
Help me to help those, to lead to the light
Help those in need, Put an end to their plight.
Send me a sign so that I may sow seeds
Lets join together united in need.
To bring about change we first must let go
Of all that is harmful for the Soul to grow
It won’t be the same for each one you see
For each has to grow, like branches of a tree.
Some are straight and have spurts of growth.
While others are twisted and slow like the sloth
Others are dead and break at the end
But each branch of the tree to heaven ascends.
And just like the Tree whose leaves she now sheds
In order to survive her roots deep embed
Into the Earth her energies link
Her life giving breath in which we all drink.
For we are all one, upon each we depend..
I wait for your calling… I wait to transcend

Oh dear friend, how it saddens me that three years after you first wrote this poem we still have the same issues… I know big changes can occur slowly so I refuse to give up hope for a better, kinder world. xx Take care and have a lovely weekend ahead.

Yes its very sad that throughout History War has never changed, and still we humans Kill each other out of sheer hatred and greed… Its something that is beyond me… as to understand how some are born with no feelings who can commit such crimes, while others seem born to suffer… All we can do is keep sending Love to Both … xox

The poem so well written but so sad…I don’t know, Sue. Sometimes I think the saying, It’s darkest before the dawn comes to mind…sometimes I think of the yogis who say that this is the tail end of the Age of Kali before the world cycles back to the new age of enlightenment. Sometimes I wonder, how can people be so silly…what are they fighting for and to what end? Sometimes I just don’t wonder at all and hope all will be well and send love out.

I believe you are right Shree, it always appears to be darkest before the dawn light.. those cycles we are in.. And I think people have lost sight of what it is they are fighting for.. The distrust and hatred built up over centuries is what is being indoctrinated into growing children within certain sections of the population… All we can do is send LOVE and know that the chaos we are seeing is all part of the cycle in discovering who we are and how we are all of us connected.. when we see what each of us does affects another… maybe we will then take responsibility for our own actions.. But all we can do is send out our Love….

Morning Sue, I am listening to the music and film that you have put on hour site. How say I feel that the world is such torment, why, oh why!! cant we all live in harmoney together. I feel for the younger generatain that are growing up, what are their lives going to be like. I do hope that when I pass from this earthly life, I willbe able to help from the place where we go. You peom is so beautiful, wish I could have written something like that. Have a lovely week end, I do car and wish there was more I could do. I feel so sad.

It is a challenging situation that as the distress around the globe increases… social, economic, political… that it filters down to the children. If people reconnect with nature, think how positive that would be for children, the inheritors of our legacy?

We are all tormented by a world in disarry. Terrible in its lack of compassion, its terrible turning away. What now? When do we ever say enough, no more. This, along with a couple of others are my charities of choice on my monthly automatic list. But one wonders, is it ever enough?
Beautiful but heartwrenching poem.

I know exactly what you mean Val, its hard seeing the tormented world with so many innocents suffering… The only practical things we can do is try to help by giving the little bit which helps an organisation bring aid to those who would have nothing.. My charities are Save the Children and the Red Cross…. the Red Cross also help in our local community and even my Elderly neighbour has had their help in helping with simple things such hand rails to help get in and out the back door..
Thank you for your encouragement upon my poem.. Love and Blessings sent

Sue, your words brought tears; they are true, honest and profound and so beautiful. I agree with Christy in saying that it’s sad three years later, the same issues remain…sometimes, I think we could all go into an anxiety attack over just about everything horrible going on. Then again, I still hold onto hope, as well, that somehow, peace and love will prevail…thanks for this beautiful gift to share with us. xoxo

Yes the video is one which was not as graphic as some… But I felt I had to highlight their plight for they like many others around the world seem to have been left to their fate and children are children where ever they are born…
