What Have We Become?

What Have We Become?

What have we become that we cannot begin to see?

The Damage that we’ve done to our Ocean land and Trees,

We belch out pollution, pumping veins in Mother Earth

Spewing out our poisons that pollute around her girth

Her Ocean floors we’ve blackened, turning all to red,

And blood is on our hands as our sea-life is now dead

What have we become that we cannot begin to see?

The damage with we do which affects both you and me

The aerosols we spray like the Chemtrails across our sky

Leave a trail of poison and no one is asking Why?

Rainforests disappearing a hundred species every day

Some we’ll never see, for we wiped them clean away.

What have we become that we feel we need to kill—

Everything around us, Is this Free Will?

I often shed a tear as I feel our Mother’s pain

For I know it’s now the time as she screams with wind and rain.

It’s time that we were shaken to realize our mistakes

How we’ve pillaged, raped and stole and Take, take ,take

Never do we honour or give her back respect

We just take her life for granted, abuse her and neglect.

Can we not see as we cut down all her trees?

We cut the very air that each of us do breathe.

What have we become as we kill for greed and power?

Our Mother now chastises in this our final hour

Her anger is just beginning to make her presence felt

For mankind is just an insect, as we reap what we have dealt

Her sigh is now heaving on the Winds of discontent

As she reflects all of our Anger over the centuries we’ve sent.

What have we become that we cannot begin to see?

We are destroying our Planet along with it you and me.

I see you’re letting out your feelings in this poem, emotions been building up in side of you for a while now. I’m with you on the worlds need for greed, I’m not sure that will ever end but here’s to hoping.

Thank you AngelWings.. You are very preceptive, yes the words needed to come out.. and the world will have to change for we cannot keep treating nature and to each other the way we are.. Something will have to give.. and if it came to a battle between Nature and ourselves.. Nature wins hands down every time.. Hugs x

Every day a rain forest is cut down my heart to grieves. But it is all about money money and the greed of the people. Over population on this scale how will the earth cope with the space it has to provide for this future. The wind turbine’s oh how wonderful but a price is being paid now for these contraptions. Lovely words I do feel what are saying dear friend.

Very powerful Dreamwalker…filled with the true emotions.
…it’s so sad to see what’s going on here on our planet, the human’s active contribution to the own destruction….

Mother Nature will prevail, there is no question about the struggle for life in general. However mankind may not have a chair in the matter. When the gods of petroleum die, and that is to say without a natural catastrophe such as Yellowstone becoming yet again, another super volcano and blanketing the entire world in ash and sunless days for several years, the great dying will be when the oil runs out — The great dying for humanity.

Billions will die, and it is just a part of nature putting balance back into things. Despite what people’s religious views are here, the species of modern man has only been around for 140,000 years and 123,000 has been spent in our homeland of Africa — There is no such thing as native anything unless we talk about the only continent that we are indigenous to, and that is Africa.

It has taken since this time to 1960 for the world to reach 1 billion people, and now we are about at 6 billion and in a few short years, 9 billion????

Do the math, the rainforests will be gone, the oil depleted, fresh water exhausted, and mankind near extinction. And somewhere in the universe someone, something will be saying, good riddance!

Yes the Earth will be saying ‘Good riddance’! Doug… we have abused our Earth plane too long.. But while ever I have a heart in my body I will shout up for those who do not always have a voice and those are the animal kingdoms.. Mother Nature is Going to have the last laugh I know that without a doubt Doug.. for Man-‘Kind’ is already extinct…. Thank you Doug for taking time out of your busy day to come visit 🙂 Dreamwalker

there is trouble on the planet no doubt about it. humans generally see with blinders on. if humans want to live on a scrap heap instead of in a garden then that is what will happen. we have ‘the will’ to make the change

    Hi Dreamwalker,

This is beautiful. Your words are so true. You speak for our Mother! And cry for her too. You pray for her and may your words speak to many, many people, who might see what we are doing.

Some people don’t think they can make a difference. If we all believed we could make a difference, wouldn’t that be wonderful…

Thank you for writing and sharing it here.

Your new friend, for which I am honored,
    Michelle.

Well written expose on the rapidly declining state of our world by exploiting mother nature in the name of technology and progress when all it boils down to is the search for power and the all important dollar , where will it end ? I predict that those who are blind will win out over those who see and understand what is happening to this globe.

Yes Ian.. we will see great changes soon, and unfortunately for mankind who lives to reap the benifits of exploiting Mother Nature . He will soon learn that Gold, Oil, and all the rest will not save him from his own demise.

Each of us, carries within us the capacity to change the world in small ways for better or worse. Everything we do and think affects the people in our lives, and their reactions in turn affect others As the effect of a seemingly insignificant word passes from person to person, its impact grows and can become a source of great joy, inspiration, anxiety, or pain. Your thoughts and actions are like stones dropped into still waters, causing ripples to spread and expand as they move outward.. I hope that I can send a few ripples out via the web of life, as we each of us weave the threads together... Welcome to my Sanctuary of Peace and Love... May we each spread our Lights around our World....Sue Dreamwalker
