#WorldWaterColorMonth Day 11

world-watercolor-month-july-2016-primary-logo

It seems I have come across a few Cats upon my rounds of blogs this morning, so taking this to be yet another ‘Sign’ I thought it about time I did another post.

I recently started to follow Charlie over at Doodlewash and decided to post just one of my watercolour paintings to add to the  WorldWaterColorMonth in July.  So thank you Charlie for inspiring me, I will  use one of my previous paintings to contribute. As I have substituted paintbrushes for gardening forks recently lol, and although I would love to get out my paintbrushes again, I have a huge load of berries that have been picked that need cleaning and freezing.

Cats have played a huge part in my life from being a child, and have brought their own brand of Love into mine and my families lives throughout many years. Their presence  and personalities are such a joy once you get to know all of their moods.. Here are some of their Moods, These paintings are not my own cats, they have now long since departed and are often in our thoughts, especially one who lived until she was 21.. Yes in our years.. She was special and very much loved and part of our family as she grew older as my children grew into adulthood.

Some of you may have seen this art before as I posted last year.

Love the cat art Sue! Really wonderful, one of your many talents. Last night I saw an animal attempt to crawl up the oak tree, and it was a calico cat! His or her appearance coincided with the time of night that I put Dexter down. This cat resembled my calico cat Jasmine who passed in 2008. I would have thought nothing of it, except that in my 19 years living here, never once did I see a cat approach this big tree right in front of my terrace. Squirrels always, but a cat, never once 🙂

    love to you,
    Linda

Very inspiring to see all those that follow your blog. Love your water color paintings of cats. I do not do water colors, but I do paint and draw. We had a wonderful cat for 15 years and lost him to cancer. You miss them. Have had many cats because of my daughter. Saw your videos of the Hopi Indians. My husband and I lived and worked on the Navajo / Hopi Indian Reservation in Arizona for 18 years. Have many Indian friend. Miss the West, live in the South East U.S. Peggy

Many thanks for saying so Maniparna.. We all hold our talent in various forms and degrees, My watercolours are not half as good as some.. I know I can improve.. But what I paint and create, no matter what it is, be it art, growing flowers, or my knitting or learning to play the guitar..The most important thing of all, is that I ENJOY it.. and that is really all that matters.. The Joy we get from creating and BEing creative.. Loved your comment.. Many thanks again Maniparna xx ❤

Thank you Marlene for that lovely compliment.. I grew up with a cat.. But we never really went out of our way to own any animals when our children were growing up. They always seemed to find us 😀 we even had a Dutch Rabbit a baby one turn up on our back garden that enquiries no one owned. So we kept her. Also our cats came that way. 🙂 and once fed never left 🙂 Our most beloved Cat, she lived to 21 yrs old.. 🙂

My mother was terrified of cats so there was no way we were going anywhere near one. I won’t have animals now because of my age but I tend to rescue them if needed. Then I make sure someone else gets them. 🙂 Hope you keep up the painting.

Yes, I see those – less saleable, to my mind, than portraits of people’s animals. I’ll tell ya – I have my WP following and my friends on Facebook – loads of them. People I know well, people I’ve met a few times. The post I wrote today about our little rescue dog? I’ve never had this many likes and comments – ever – with any of my blogposts over the years. People love their pets! And so … 😉 ❤

Yes animals are Mans best friend and yes I can see how portraits would appeal.. 🙂 And I thank you for suggesting, and you are not the first to suggest this.
The only problem being, I love creating when I feel like creating and now I have retired for my day job, although I have the time ( Just ) lol to fit in the odd painting, I would feel obliged to complete to a schedule and would also feel it hard to refuse requests.. 🙂 And so the creativity would come under pressure and the art of creating would be lost in the pressure to please and capture perfect likeness .. 🙂 LOL… I have thought this through before.. And so like summer, my paintbrushes are downed for the gardening fork. And in winter I pick up my brushes and knitting.. 🙂 and the odd book and blog more 🙂 haha…
But I sooo love you for thinking Bela I could do justice to such a venture.. It has made my day.. 🙂 ❤ xxx

🙂 Thank you Debby, 🙂 I guess its because I believe we can put our minds to anything.. And I tell everyone I even laid lino in our bathroom one time.. It took me all day and a lot of tears of frustration as I cut it out ( almost perfectly) to fit around toilet and sink 🙂 And a frew prayers to my late Father so that his spirit could help me 🙂 lol .. But I did it.. Hubby had been putting off the job for weeks and I got fed up of waiting as we do LOL.. ( don’t know what I would have done if I had ruined it haha ) My Dad used to say, there is no such word as Can’t!… 🙂 😉

I love that your cats are so much part of your heart and mind as the memories of our beloved cats are. Cats bring so much to our lives and these watercolours are a wonderful way to celebrate their different personalities and moods. I understand swapping garden forks for other activities, I’ve had quite a few breaks from blogging this year to spend time working in the garden instead. More stories to tell when winter comes then. Hugs, Emma 🙂
