Dear WordPress

plan-premium-1x

I interrupt this Blog to please ask WordPress Moderators who put this sign into my right had notification column to please withdraw it as soon as they are able…  It comes in with the message

Blog, supercharged: get your own domain name, powerful customization options and lots of space for audio and video.

Get WordPress.com Premium

Every time I click my notifications to answer a comment the comment shoots back and this one briefly appears , the comment box I was on disappears and I have to scroll down to found the comment again I then go through the process again…. I even clicked onto Get WordPress Premium but to no avail it still jumps the cue to be answered again..

I usually have lots and LOTS of Patience..

But time here is precious and its taken me twice as long to get through simple comment replies..

Thank you WP for all of your hard work in improvements to our Blogs I am very appreciative of all your efforts to make our blog experience a rewarding one.
But I get the message..
And I can upgrade from my editor if I so wish by pressing the Go Premium Button..

But…

And I am very happy in my Free domain

Thank you Kindly

~Sue~

Yes very true Renard… I used to be able to moderate the template of my theme.. Adding header like you see the feathers etc… Now its only available to do that if you buy permium.. 🙂 Good thing I am happy with the look and the colour changes I made prior to their altering the settings 🙂 And I have found away around the annoyance.. 🙂 so all calm with Dreamwalker again xx

Yes Z it was a pesk.. but after playing around with how I comment in the side bar I have found if I reply and no not press the like button it stays stable.. Its when I press the like button first it disappears.. I then go to the actual posting to click all the like buttons in the comments below my post.. Always a way.. 🙂

Oh yes, a creative mind can find artful ways to dodge frusrations! Now if WP will roll back the ‘edit’ prompt. The main edit on my site takes to a teeny window that doesn’t even fit one photo in it, though sometimes the equally-irritating ‘beep beep bop’ offers, ‘if it’s taking too long you can always edit from the dashboard’ which takes me back to the ‘normal’ window with lots of scrolling room. Guess all obstacles also help us stay mentally fit by exercising our creative ways out of the mazes.

Lots of things have changed on WP and not all of it good. I got the premium as part of the price for attending the conference here. I’m not particularly techy so I hate to get too many changes. Let us know when they fix this. I’m curious how long it will take.

Yes true Marlene. It isn’t fixed but I have worked my way around it Marlene so I do not get so frustrated… It happened when I clicked the like button first.. the whole comment would then slide back into the side bar leaving the WP icon showing… the original comment would then disappear for a few seconds.. I was busy scrolling down searching for it… But I have since found if I reply to the comment first its ok.. and leave the like button alone.. I then go to my posting page and block like all comments together… It seems more of those with Free sites are the ones this is happening too judging by the comments I have received… I doubt it will change..
Greed is the name of the game.. and I guess nothing stays ‘Free’ for long without you pay for it in other ways.. WP altered the settings to my blog Theme the other month.. Where you see the feathers at the top of my blog.. I would change with the seasons.. Like Sunflowers, Christmas snow men etc.. Now that feature has been withdrawn.. I could still change it but only if I upgrade to premium..
But I am happy that at least it got changed when the feathers were in place LOL and not the snowmen 🙂 haha… You have to find the silver lining in all things.. 😀

was wondering why it is not showing up on mine. Not that I would want it to. And then I remembered I pay for my domain. Because….I paid last year and the only way to keep my blog going, as far as I could figure out, after a frustrating couple of days…was to pay again. Lesson learned.

I understand WordPress wanting, and needing, to make money, but this ad is a little too intrusive. I hope they realize that at least 50% of the true value for users of WordPress.com is the community – and I would guess the community is largely made-up of bloggers who use the free service.

Well I have worked around it David.. All clouds have a silver lining even though we have to go through the storms before hand.. I have to say I love WP.. and apart from some of their changes I enjoy this blogging platform.. It comes to remind me how petty this annoyance is when you take the larger world into account and what some people have to deal with in their lives.. And I am thinking in particular of your own on going dilemma David… So this is nothing to what you have been dealing with over the years.. Hugs Sue x

Being in the throws of battling to put a blog post together on Live Writer I can safely say that the phone app is a piece of cake by comparison! I’m rapidly losing the will to live trying to get it to function the way it’s supposed to 😉 I will have to investigate the Web version of w/p too and see if it’s giving me your problem. ..It really doesn’t want to though…It would be very ill advised of it! 😉 Hope it doesn’t drive you mad! xx

Well its stilling giving me the same problems today Wolfie, but we shall overcome!!.. And good luck.. I like using the Live writer, the only bug bare with it I found is that WP then stores two lots of photos from it in my media library .. So I do not now use as often.. I could never figure why it did that?

Yes I noticed that too. It seems to store one thumbnail image and one full size image. Strange. And a storage hog! Live writer for W8 is a pain and it’s currently inserting all my photos upside down with no option to turn them around. I shall be utilising the w.p editor instead if these sort of issues continue!

That is what I had to do Wolfie… I only now rarely use Live Writer.. I also discovered it stored data on my PC of the posts I had made… LOTS over the years.. I deleted on as I thought it may delete from my blog.. but when I discovered it didn’t I deleted the lot.. It helped create more space in my harddrive .. 🙂 I am now running on RED… and have a Passport hard drive now where I store my uploaded photos.. x

Oopsy! Running on RED doesn’t sound healthy! I found Live Writer handy for storing copies of my posts on my laptop once I realised, as I’d been busily storing copies of my own for ages not knowing it did it for me! I like to have them around in case anything happens to my blog along the way 🙂 But if you’re short on storage space on your laptop then I can see that could be a mega problem! 🙂

Have you tried defragmenting the hard drive, clearing the cache and running a disk clean up? It’s surprising how much space you can claim back that way. My security does all that for me but you can do it yourself through windows control panel. You could also try compressing files…

If you’ve never done one and the situation is as it is on your computer it could take some time…maybe worth leaving it to do the job overnight! As I recall you can’t use it whilst it’s defragmenting the drive but it can make a huge difference so good luck on your mission! Oh yes clearing your search history regularly can clear a surprising amount of storage space too…as can moving videos onto an external hard drive seeing as they use ridiculous amounts of storage even for a little tiny short one! x

    Hi Sue!

@”Blog, supercharged: get your own domain name, powerful customization options and lots of space for audio and video.” – well, I’m not that surprised with WP’s statement(warning), for other fellow bloggers whose pages are too “loaded”(LOL!) have gotten it, as well… 🙂 bluntly put, their message is: hey, we remind you that WP-space is FREE and if you wanna do whatever you want and wish @ your blog, you need/have to pay, gal/dude! 🙂

P.S. that’s why I always resize my pix and I edit all “youtube-stuff” without the “https://”, so the link opens up only if you click on it! simple like “bonjour!” 🙂

It seems WordPress is sure up to a lot of tricks. How annoying that is. I have my own headaches with them, but at least when I went to self hosted, I don’t have to put up with their shenanigans with pop up ads and them trying to sell me something else distracting. It’s bad enough they don’t have a ‘reblog’ button for self hosters. ❤ 🙂

Each of us, carries within us the capacity to change the world in small ways for better or worse. Everything we do and think affects the people in our lives, and their reactions in turn affect others As the effect of a seemingly insignificant word passes from person to person, its impact grows and can become a source of great joy, inspiration, anxiety, or pain. Your thoughts and actions are like stones dropped into still waters, causing ripples to spread and expand as they move outward.. I hope that I can send a few ripples out via the web of life, as we each of us weave the threads together... Welcome to my Sanctuary of Peace and Love...
