Happiness is a State of Being

Hello to all my Blogging Friends, Time this week has been short to spend on WordPress, So I am reposting a poem I wrote 2 yrs ago…. Happiness is a state of Being… While I paint and garden this week, I have little time to get around you all…. Enjoy and BE HAPPY!
Love Sue xxx

Dreamwalker's Sanctuary

Below is a Poem I wrote last night, as I couldn’t sleep.. It reflected my day as  looked out into my Garden as I looked at the wonderful rainbow colours of flowers. They filled my heart as I took in a deep breathe . I woke up with these Words repeating over and over in my mind, and Just had to reach for my journal to write them down.

The words I heard were this one sentence. ” HAPPINESS IS A STATE OF BEING ” and so the Poem was Born..

Below I’ve also added a slide show of some of the flowers in my garden..

Happiness is a state of being

Look around at what I’m seeing

Shapes and colours of every hue

Natures Garden just for you

garland[3]

Happiness is a state of mind

You needn’t look far in you want to find

A scent of perfume rare and grand

Just…

Love reading your posts no matter when they were written. Visit with dad is going well, although I may need to get sleep when I get home. When I’m here I get on his and my sister’s schedule so tend to not sleep as much. No problem, though, as I am glad to help out in any way that I can. I am entertained by the Mockingbird each day. Hope your days are going well. xoxox

Lovely 🙂 I find that even in the dead of winter (which we just so happen to be in at the moment 😉 ) if I am feeling at all depressed, all I have to do is wander out into the garden to get reinvigorated and re-enthused about life. A garden is a precious thing, even if it’s just a couple of pots on a deck or a small balcony. Nature heals 🙂

I so agree Narf77.. 🙂 Nature is right under our noses and if we would just reconnect back to that which is on our doorstep and appreciate all living things.. How much more Happiness we would feel as we realised what we have to be grateful for.. We have so much to be thankful for.. Especially when you consider how others have to live in their parts of the world..
Many thanks for your most welcome visit and comment.. Nature really does HEAL… 🙂 Big smiles… 😀 xxx

😉 Earl and Bezial say “GOOD LUCK WITH THAT IT’S STILL RAINING!” 😉 I am thinking it might be easier to buy them both some wellies and stand by the back door waiting for them to pelt in and wrestle them to the ground to remove them. 50 year old women don’t need gyms to keep fit if they have 2 dogs 😉

Glad we have it installed as it has been raining here since 4am and narf is MOST happy. I can imagine all of that free and most delicious rainwater scooting into the tank (less for the dogs to get on their paws when they turn right side up and stop snoring in about 30 minutes 😉 )

Here we only get rain about 4 times over a 5 month period in our long dry summer. Not too hot but SOOO dry! We are more like Greece when it comes to summer so getting rainwater tanks to supplement our tap water is a must rather than a choice to be honest. We found this tank at a bargain price and the man was just living down the road from us so it was sort of like narf karma as I had been wanting a rainwater tank for AGES. Stage 1 on the narf sufficiency chart “TICK” :). Next I want that Dutch nautilus style wind turbine and all of my Christmases will come at once 😉

I did bake 2 cakes yesterday. I found a Georgio Locatelli recipe for a vegan chocolate cake. SO easy! Just toss some dry ingredients in a bowl, some wet ones in another bowl, mix them together and tip them into a greased, lined cake tin. The first cake I made was in a bolshie bundt tin that was living on borrowed time. The best way to test any cake in my opinion is to run it by the bolshie bundt. It’s usual modus operandi is to stick to the cake like glue no matter how much grease and flour you put into it (impossible to line it) and I told it “you stick, I throw you OUT this time mateo!” It didn’t stick :). A large perfectly formed bundt resulted in only 20 minutes! I then threw another cake together and this time ran out of bicarb…had my ideas that I might be dancing on the edge of a pin BUT you know me…”no guts, no glory” so off I went…oh DEAR! Needless to say that cake really does need that bicarb…lesson learned and a chocolate cake on it’s way out to the hungry hoards of chooks 😦

Awww, well one thing you had One good Cake and the chooks had a real treat.. :-)… Lessons learned… I am just mulling over doing a new recipe I found of Rhubarb and Strawberry crumble… When I get some caster sugar in I am all set as I have both Rhubarb and Strawberries ripening in the garden… So if I bake I will share the recipe on my page with pics later when I have time.. speaking of which I owe you a visit for a good read… xxx Hugs Sue

Stevie-boy isn’t a fan at ALL of rhubarb so I tend not to bother with it. I might get a few crowns to grow in the garden just because I can and because I could eat it if I wanted. Always a good thing 🙂

Dear Sue, I read your beautiful poem on Happiness….and saw your lovely paintings. Today, this morning, as I sat in the Garden looking at the flowers and enjoying the cool breeze touching my body, I wondered how well God has made His creations. All around me I saw God in His creations. He is perfect! We only give a ‘name’ to the ‘form’ and ‘colour’ that He creates. This sight and thought made me happy, rather put me in a state of Bliss. Maybe contentment is a state of happiness or bliss.

I do agree with both definitions about happiness: a state of mind and of being… 🙂
    * * *
here’s an interesting one, too: 🙂

“I wonder is happiness only an essence of good living, that you shall taste only once or twice while you live, and then go on living with the taste in your mouth, and wishing you had the fullness of it solid between your teeth, like a good meal that you have tasted and cherished and look back in your mind to eat again… Never mind what you feel. Think. Watch. Think again. And then one step at a time to put things right. As a mason puts one block at a time. To build solid and good. So with thought. Think. Build one solid thought at a time. Then act.”(Richard Llewellyn – “How Green Was My Valley…”)

Each of us, carries within us the capacity to change the world in small ways for better or worse. Everything we do and think affects the people in our lives, and their reactions in turn affect others As the effect of a seemingly insignificant word passes from person to person, its impact grows and can become a source of great joy, inspiration, anxiety, or pain. Your thoughts and actions are like stones dropped into still waters, causing ripples to spread and expand as they move outward.. I hope that I can send a few ripples out via the web of life, as we each of us weave the threads together... Welcome to my Sanctuary of Peace and Love...
