Tell me why do we have to do battle?
What is it about Man we have this Shackle
That binds us to fight and control
Why it eats away with fear that we hold
Tell me if you can who is the winner?
Who among us is the greater sinner?
Who do we blame when we disagree?
It has to be you, it can never be me!
We seek to point fingers, in anger we fight
We fail to see our faults reflected in clear sight
Look through the mirror closer to home
Sieve out your thoughts to see how they roam
How often do we judge and say the word ‘Hate’
To send our your anger we are hooked on the bait
Our endocrines teach us to be different and proud
That our way is right while yours is not allowed
We label and attach our names to different groups
When one takes the lead we label them coups
Enforcing our views withholding their rights
We rule making laws, enforcing them tight
Opinions are strong as we each draw a line
The greatest battle fought first starts in the mind
This battle with Ego has come to a head
To explode into pieces of heartache to shed
If this world you are looking to mend
Look no further than self in the thoughts that you send
If this world is to find peace we must first look within
And calm your own battles. This is the first war we must win..

I agree that this is a fight we must win! 😦
New chemicals have been identified which are attacking the ozone layer just as happened in the 80’s when CFC’s were banned, the final use ended in 2010.
We are no longer looking to live off the earth while poisoning the air and water, but vested interests prefer profit to survival because they’ll be long dead when their poisoning wipes out all life on the planet.
They need to get some perspective, or we’re ALL in trouble… 😦
Love and squishy hugs! 🙂

I really enjoyed your slideshow poem . Great feature with the images and all… A great message, very uplifting at the end… I particularly liked this verse : “And calm your own battles. This is the first war we must win”.. I think this is so true, because the inner battles define the wars outside us, right and peace is certainly a global treat!!!
Best wishes and many hugs, Aquileana 😉

Aegh, my young warrior Aquileana, so wise.. Those Inner battles defining the reality of who we are.. Which as we know our thoughts create our outer reality… One day lets hope enough of us win our internal battles and realise when we have, we have then ended the external wars.. xxx Love Sue

Wonderfully written!! And so true, we should first battle and win over our own ego! We all have them, so there is no need to be ashamed or hide from it, I think we should simply acknowledge our nagging egos, then decide to rather give space to our beautiful soul instead 🙂

Yes Line, we do, all have Ego, its part of our make-up.. Learning to discern its voice and learning to listen to our Inner voice sometimes is the hardest battle we have to fight.. but once we master how to, We find a beautiful space in which we can live in peace within.. .. Thank you for your kind comment.. 🙂

It is a battle Sue, and it shouldn’t be, it should be a natural progression of ideas, accepted and followed to heal this Earth, this Planet, this Home, where we live. We all struggle with our inner battles, our own worries and yet everything we do has repercussions… Thinking of others before ourselves, giving rather than taking and surely the response, the results would be overwhelmingly Good …. Love and light my friend, and thankyou for sharing your deeply thought-filled poem. xPenx

A very thought provoking verse you have penned here Sue.
What is it indeed that makes us hold on to the “Me- self” self righteous perspective? What is it that makes us propagate our prejudices and project our beliefs? I suppose it all boils down to the “World view” and “Frames of reference” that we have got conditioned into. And these together constrain and shape our view of situations and people.
So, yes, we need to start looking at our own self ,the filters that we carry and how we react to people and situations. A simple awareness and acceptance of the existence of other viewpoints is a great start.

Such great thoughts Sue and the images really brought your poem to life. I particularly thought this line was telling: “We fail to see our faults reflected in clear sight.” I think we all need to continually examine ourselves and keep ourselves ‘honest.’ That’s why it’s so good to have reminders like this one – to keep us focused, Much love to you my dear friend xxxx

I still get surprised when I meet people who are conflictual and very narrow minded. One would think that we live in a different world today…It’s not that I am closing my eyes on the world at large but I choose to surround myself by groups and people who are loving, accepting and open minded. And deep down I do believe that we are evolving and will hopefully be able to see that there are no winners in wars and battles. Your poem sure is a great step in that direction! luv xox

I agree we are evolving and that is why I think our imperfections are being shown to us ever more, as we see how pointless those Outward wars are… As there are never any winners unless we win the one’s going on with Self.. And learn to live in peace and harmony with Self.. We then will see reflected that which we present to the world… What we think so we create. and what goes around comes around.. But still many have to learn these basic steps as they learn to conquer their turbulent thoughts … Thank you so much for your input… And I will be catching up with your good self shortly today. 🙂 xxx Hugs Sue xox

Hi Sue, just saw this quote that reminded me of your post:
You cannot get sick enough to help sick people get better. You cannot get poor enough to help poor people thrive. It is only in your thriving that you have anything to offer anyone. If you’re wanting to be of an advantage to others, be as tapped in, turned in, turned on as you can possibly be. ~ Esther Abraham-Hicks
This is what I believe as well, I can only change myself

Sue, this was lovely. One thing people seem not to understand is the definition of “opinion”. An opinion isn’t fact, it’s simply ones rationale of the facts as they know it. If we could stop and remind ourselves of this we would get along much better.

Yes you are so right Lois, its all about ‘Opinion’ and how we presume things about other people.. We are swamped by the Media’s opinion’s too which colour peoples views.. Adding prejudices to the mix, its a constant battle being fought as ‘Facts get distorted. and people pay lip-service to the gossiping etc… Instead of finding out Facts for themselves.. I always say people who live in Glass houses shouldn’t throw stones! ;-).. But you would be amazed at the amount of broken glass flying around! ;-)… I will be catching up with your adventures shortly.. Also when others reply to my comments not all but I have come across about 6 various blogs who have taken the trouble to answer, I have not got their notification.
So I hope my replies are getting back to you all as I reply to each comment I see here at Dreamwalker.. Also some have been spammed.. And I have been spammed again and cannot get out of one spam box somehow..
Thank you all for your well wishes, I am much brighter.. And have managed to reply and revisit all who have left comments on my pervious couple of posts,, I hope.. 🙂 If not I hope you will let me know..
I was looking to post something that perhaps many of my new subscribers had not read before.
I looked back in my archives at my poems and found this I posted on this day March 9th 2014.
There are a lot of Mind Battles on going right now especially in our political circles. So I thought this a good repost while I get back to writing again.
