Breathe In Nature

The Poem you see below, I wrote several years ago..

Nature Heals
~
Sometimes when the world gets too much
As our inner mind chews over such and such
Take yourself off for a walk
~
When the doubts roll in
Creating that internal din
Take yourself off for a walk
~
Breathe deep that fresh clear air
Release your worries and the worlds despair
As you take yourself off for a walk
~
Observe all nature and how she grows
Pick wild berries from among the hedgerows
As you take yourself off for a walk
~
Release the tension with every stride
Hug a tree, let go of pride
As you take yourself off for a walk
~
Ask Mother Nature to let you see
All of her wonders created for thee
As you take yourself off for a walk
~
Look to the skies
At the Rainbow she supplies
As you take yourself off for a walk
~
Nature gives and Nature takes
Balancing ALL as she creates
As you take yourself off for a walk
~
Peace fills the mind as time has flown
Blending in Nature as you have grown
I so Enjoyed My Walk!

This week as we see yet more restrictions come into play here in the UK. I was able to take myself off for a walk. And with my Granddaughters help we collected leaves… She made several craft items with hers.. With the leaves left over I made a collage of leaves… Beauty is to be found everywhere, even when we uncover those ugly creepy crawlies which live in the dark beneath them. ALL have purpose. We may not like them, but they are put here for a reason…

Remember as the Darkness unfolds it is also moving us out of our comfort zones. We often like to stay fixed in our safe environments, and not challenge the status quo. We become fixed in our ways and would sooner not look under the leaves to find those creepy crawlies of the world. Our experiences are also moving us to see beyond, as we dare look beneath the forest floor. Because every once and a while out pops some miracles, which we may have missed, if we had not been looking beneath the shadows of the Forest..

Magic Pushes Through.

The Magic will continue to push on through. Keep focused on the Magic and the Miracles that Life brings us. Even though at times, we have to face both the Good Bad and Ugly in Life. Know it has come to wake us up from the illusion of this Matrix, and to acknowledge our own Sovereignty of our own Health and Humanness. It comes to show us our mistakes, and it comes to show us how we can Create a better future as we learn from those mistakes…

🍁 It is time for you to turn over the first Leaf 🍁 I hope you collect many more along the Forest Floor… I will keep turning them over to see just what lies beneath waiting to be discovered.

Autumns Dance

Spirit of Autumn, My interpretation of the Magic of Autumn Gold.

Spirit of Autumn, My interpretation of the Magic of Autumn Gold.

The Winds Dance

From where does the wind gain her mighty strength?

How long is her trail, her width and her length?

From whence does a breeze grow into a gale?

As she shrieks and blusters bringing down hail

~~

And how does her anger in tornadoes twirl

Calm to the silence in the eye of a storm

And when does her shout fall to whispers and calm

That caressers the skin in the light of the dawn

~~

She flirts with the leaves to twist them and prance

Lifting them up to have their last dance

Her friend is the rain as he falls from the sky

Pelting the ground as he matches her sighs

~~

She finds every nook and the cracks to creep in

Howling laments as she shrieks out her din

The trees bow their heads in respect to her might

Those who resist are snapped in their fight

~~

She whips up the oceans creating great swells

And blows in the mountains, valleys and dells

She blows up the snow that drifts on the ground

She’s gentle and silent then violent and loud

~~

Never underestimate Nature with all of her sides

She’s stronger than Man despite all of his strides

Respect ALL the elements, to not is to fall

Because Nature is Mother, Listen to her call

My thoughts are sent out to those in the path of any forthcoming storms around the world..

I wrote this poem some time ago when we were experiencing High winds..

The above artwork I did a couple of years ago.. As I tried to capture the Golden Magic of Autumn and the glitter of Frost upon the fallen leaves..

I hope you are all enjoying a wonderful week as I leave you with this poem.

Blessings and thank you for reading and Welcome to all who are newly subscribed to Dreamwalker’s Sanctuary I hope you enjoy your browsing experience.

Autumn Walks and Winter Warmers

Just a short little post, as I share my walk with you today.

Last of the leaves and Berries

Autumn colours are still beautiful even as the last of the leaves fall

Leave littered trail

Crisp under foot, each shape just perfect as the wind makes them swirl

Local woods

Walking in a circle that took me an hour,

With oak and beech that gave leafy showers.

Returning back home I began again to an knit

the mittens I had started to match my winter kit.

Fingerless Gloves

The hat and scarf I made a few weeks ago

And now I’m all ready for that Winter Snow!

One fingerless mitten to go

Hat and scarf

Stay warm, and remember we can achieve anything once we set our minds to it.. Once upon a time I couldn’t knit, once upon a time I found it difficult to walk as I suffered with chronic  pain and fatigue, Once we put our minds to it we can achieve our goals,

we can create better health…

Each of us have Will Power, in the coming future we are all of us going to be tested, So Put your minds to creating something better in your own world ..

The world may appear to be coming apart at the seams

But we are the ones who need to Sew it together with our thoughts.

KEEP CREATING A WORLD YOU WISH TO LIVE AND WALK SAFELY IN.

The Spirit of Autumn

Spirit of Autumn

I am back after giving myself some Breathing space for a couple of days.. I swapped the click of the mouse for a stroke of the paint brush. as you see from my artwork above..

Trees are the Lungs of the Earth, they give us oxygen-rich air which we all rely upon to breathe. And often we have forgotten just how to take in  those Deep breaths and relax..  Trees have always played a huge part in my life from growing up surrounded by them and later learning how to interact within their energy exchanges, I’m a big advocate of ‘Go Hug a Tree’..especially when you feel a little low of energy yourself.

Trees are a living presence and I am sure many of you can sense their energy, you have only to go outside and listen to the stirrings of their voices as the leaves gently rustle in the breeze, or hear how they screech and moan as the wind whips through their branches in a storm.  They like our Mother Earth are givers and ask noting in return. They bring us shelter and warmth with their timber, shade from the Sun, fruits  and Nuts, and lets not forget their many healing properties.

Tree’s teach us the importance of renewal, as they shed their leaves and outer attachments as they go into their slumber of winter rest..

They teach us so many qualities and teach us stillness and contentment as well as learning how to stand strong within our roots..

So many places around our world Tree’s are being destroyed this always is heart breaking.. And if you are conscious of recycling as I am, I am sure you look to buy recycled paper and products, for we need to protect our life giving trees of our Mother Earth.

There are many Tree myths and legends and tree-lore preserved for us both in folksongs and folktales, which show us that our ancestors had a deeper relationship with Trees than we know of today..

It was once commonly known in most parts of the world that within the tree lay a living essence of a Spirit within it.. The Druids called them the “ The Many Eyed Ones” or “ Hooded Ones” and they believed they watched the comings and goings of the Human Race… When you consider how old some trees live to be, its no wonder,  as many live over 200 yrs and some 800 yrs plus,

Important meetings were held under trees, Kings were crowned, and Laws were passed, Marriages were held and at many a cross-roads Tree’s were planted as markers and boundaries at significant points on the land.

A Tree Spirit, or as they are know. a Dryad, can be understood as a huge energy field radiating outwards from each tree, It is said it can radiate out for several miles… During the growing season in Spring and Summer it is easier to make contact with a Dryad than in the Autumn or Winter as the energy drops down into the Earth for Renewal or so I’m informed… For me I just like to link into the Spirit of the Tree as I give thanks for their life giving oxygen and healing peace..

Its always good to go out and connect back into Nature and there is nothing like communicating with the Trees.. For those who have never done this you do not know what you are missing..

When walking out, feel which Tree you are drawn towards and then reach out with your mind and feel the Tree’s energy as you slowly approach it.. Open your hands and start to feel your fingers tingle… Stop and I always ask in my mind for permission to step closer, you may feel you need to walk around the tree in a circular fashion, See if you can feel the layers of energy the tree sends out..

Make contact placing your hands gently upon the bark and feel the pulse of energy surge upwards from its roots… ( this is better felt in the spring and summer months ) .. Feel yourself developing strong roots down into the earth like the tree and feel your strength grow as the tree gives you its own healing nourishment… Or sit with your spine against the trunk and connect by meditating with the tree to share with you some of its wisdom…

Nature has for us in her hands its gifts of healing, by being out-doors experiencing Nature, we can also find the  many healing properties found in Trees and Plants around our world as there are many cues for many ailments.

Above  you see is the painting I did, It took four hours to paint, of which TIME just flew.. I painted in Acrylic’s on Canvas size 22cms by 30cms  I named this one ‘The Spirit of Autumn’

Autumn Gifts ~The Pantry is Always Full.

Woodland Walk

Autumn has already begun as we feel the morning chill. Here in the last days of September in the UK we have had record rainfall as a months worth of rain fell in one day. My heart goes out to all those whose homes were flooded yet again in this unpredictable weather of 2012.

But today the sun is shining as it once again lifts our spirits to the beauty of an autumn day, as the blue skies and golden leaves start to form upon the trees.

I’m just recovering from a virus infection which knocked me sideways for a while, but I am back to feeling better again and wanted to share with you some of the beauties of Autumn as I took a walk on the 12th of September.. seems an age ago now as I walked among my favourite Trees.. I snapped a few pictures along my walk. Blackberries

Here are some of my all time favourite bramble fruits the Blackberry, I like nothing better than making a Blackberry Pie with a few Apples mixed in with either custard or cream..

Blackberry and Apple Pie

Here is a Pie I baked a while back as we have lots of Blackberries in our allotments, which I freeze..This one is one I made earlier Smile..I hope to add the recipe on my Recipe page shortly for those interested.

I just love Wild Roses and here are the Rosehips which are a very good source of vitamin C. Did you know that you can dry Rosehips, making a herb tea? ( which often get added to commercially produced herbal teas ) Also if you like a Winter Tipple  how about Sloe Gin? I personally cannot stand either the taste or the smell of Gin. But to make Sloe Gin go to my Recipe page I have added a simple recipe there which you can find Here if you scroll down far enough.. Hawthorn

Hawthorn grows in abundance in our hedgerows here, They delight us in the spring with their white blossoms and are full again this year of the Haws the red berries, a sure sign that the birds will have plenty to eat as Winter approaches. I didn’t know until I read in my Tree Book that you can eat the flesh of the Haws if you get rid of the stones, you can make a jelly by simmering the fruit with a few crab apples..

Elderberries

Elderberry is another hedgerow fruit well known for making Elderberry Wine. I well remember an Aunt of mine who made both Elderflower Wine and Elderberry Wine another good source of vitamins.

In my childhood and when my children were small We would often go Hazelnut picking, My Dad never went anywhere in late September without nutcrackers in his pocket Smile.. I loved picking the nuts and couldn’t wait until they had turned from their green to brown in their husks. And my childhood treat was to painstakingly shell these sweet nuts often immature to sprinkle with salt on a saucer and demolish in a matter of seconds.. I so love the memory of nutting with my Dad.. Along with collecting Chestnuts and walking in the early morning mists to find the Field Mushrooms… here is a nice link to the kind we used to find.

Dad was something of an expert in collecting Wild Mushrooms and he would provide many a villager with a heavy bag of field mushrooms, and I have known them to be as big as the frying pan . ( Note when eating wild Mushrooms you must be experienced in identifying them as there are many poisonous fungi which unless you know can be wrongly identiAcornsfied )

Lastly I took a few pictures of the Acorns.. From young Oak trees which lined the walk you see in the first picture, we noted that many had a fungal disease and seemed to be dying an many had these peculiar malformed Acorns on them and they were not like anything I have seen on trees here before. Deformed Acorns

Here are the growths on the Acorns in this Picture , I Googled Deformed Acorns and apparently its  known as a ‘Knopper Gall’ caused by a tiny gall wasp Andricus quercuscalicis. it is a recent colonist to Britain in the last 30 yrs or so, and was first spotted in Northamptonshire in 1961. You learn something new every day!..

I hope you enjoyed a little walk with me today… Its great that the Rain has stopped at last and its promising to be a good day tomorrow Saturday so I’m making the most of it and intent to go out in the Fresh Air again to blow the last of this Virus away before more Rain on Sunday..

Take care and Have a great weekend all of you ~Sue

Each of us, carries within us the capacity to change the world in small ways for better or worse. Everything we do and think affects the people in our lives, and their reactions in turn affect others As the effect of a seemingly insignificant word passes from person to person, its impact grows and can become a source of great joy, inspiration, anxiety, or pain. Your thoughts and actions are like stones dropped into still waters, causing ripples to spread and expand as they move outward.. I hope that I can send a few ripples out via the web of life, as we each of us weave the threads together... Welcome to my Sanctuary of Peace and Love... May we each spread our Lights around our World....Sue Dreamwalker
