A Message from Pandora, STOP! the Destruction

A dear friend of mine who lives in Brazil, sent me an appeal today, to sign a petition to stop the Belo Monte Dam project from going ahead later this month.. Here are her Words..

“Stop Belo Monte Dam!

The Brazilian government approved the environmental license for the controversial Belo Monte Dam in the Amazon. The dam, slated to be the world’s third largest hydroelectric project, would devastate an extensive area of the Amazon rainforest, and threaten the survival of indigenous and traditional peoples. Construction could begin this year.

The decision has caused a national and international outcry. It’s time for urgent action! The government has just given a license to start cutting down trees and clearing the construction site for the Belo Monte hydropower project. The decision has already triggered strong reactions, and the Federal Public Ministry in Pará has publicly stated that the license is illegal, and cannot be issued without prior compliance with environmental requirements.

But, President Dilma is turning a deaf ear. Only a massive wave of protest from citizens across the country could persuade her to review the decision. We’ve done it before! If enough of us call, we could protect our precious environment and get her to immediately revoke the illegal license. And, if we don’t act now, the forest will be cleared this month”

I was shocked to learn of this project whereby 40,000 indigenous people and local people will be displaced and lose their homes and habitat, not to mention the thousands of Species of Animals, Wildlife and unique species of animals and insects.

The Dam will flood 400,000 acres of Rainforests and the project is Bigger than that of the Panama Canal. Please watch the video and visit the links listed here.. and add you vote …
Where do we stop in destroying our world.. It has taken hundreds of years for these trees which give us our Oxygen to breath.. There are I am sure alternatives to this
hydroelectric Belo Monte, which will destroy the entire region of the Xingu river,in the heart of the Amazon rainforest.

Help stop the Bulldozers from moving in to leave a huge scar on this land and in the heart of the Amazon.. and sign the petition now!

Stone Circles

The Other weekend we went walking into the Derbyshire countryside that I so love, being brought up a small village in Hope Valley Derbyshire Peak District, I try to take every opportunity to revisit these wonderful Hills and valleys, which are rich in views and history.

Recently I seem to have got the itch to seek out sites of ancient stone circles and I am sure most of you are aware of the most famous one, that of Stonehenge, But there are many of these stone circles scattered around the UK, Ireland and many places around Europe. So off we set to find Arbor Low which is often referred to as Stonehenge of the North. This stone circle is situated in the Derbyshire Peak District only a few miles from where I used to go to secondary school in the Market Town of Bakewell. And Yet I had never visited this place before.

As I approached the stone circle one thing I noticed was that the wind picked up and seemed to blow that bit stronger within the circle, despite the circle being encased in a rise of earth. I since found out that the wind always seems to blow here.

I walked around the edge of the circle and in my mind I asked permission to enter and did so at the far side, where I sat upon the centre stone absorbing the energies one could clearly feel.. I felt absolute peacefulness as I looked out to the surrounding countryside the only noise being that of the wind in my hair and the occasional bleating of the lambs as they had lost their mothers and nuzzled for more milk.

The Cows too were silently grazing and the whole landscape took on a quiet peace that as I sat in the silence enveloped my whole being, bringing calmness and peace.. I closed my eyes and gave thanks for this peace and thanks to our Earth Mother as I touched the stones.

I meditated for a while and as I did so it was as if I was no longer separate from the stones, but I had become part of them, and I felt myself belonging to the Earth and all that was in it. With it brought memories of ancient times flooding back to a people who lived at one with Nature and who knew how all things both on Earth and in the Celestial realms were all inter-connected.

The Stones now all are fallen like dominoes are huge stones, which when they were standing must have been a wondrous sight.

Further along about a 5minute walk is a Barrow, a huge mound which was thought to have been a burial site. But still much is not known about the reasoning for these sites and we only presume the reasoning’s behind many finds such as these.  For not many bones were found here and it is thought that some of these barrows were only used later as scared places and used for burial purposes. One thing though is that they are all placed in alignment with the celestial bodies the stars. Our ancestors had more knowledge than we in precisely aligning and predicting eclipses etc along with catastrophes such as the appearance of Comets.

One thing that always fascinates me is how some of these huge stones weighing many tons could have been moved in some cases hundreds of miles from where the actual stone was quarried from, and I suspect they had gifts we have since lost through time.

Time certainly flew by that morning, and I was reluctant to leave, but I will be back…

Enjoy the photos.

Dracula Country

Whitby North Yorkshire

This was a Well at the Abbey

Sun setting on the Church above the Town

Well hello once again to all my friends .. I have had a relaxing few days away, exploring the East Coast of one my favourite haunts that of Whitby in North Yorkshire on the edge of the North Sea.

Here I sampled the delights of fresh clean air, along with Yorkshire hospitality, and enjoyed the views sights and smells of this Historic  Fishing Town of Whitby.

To add to the experience this time around as I have been a few times to this wonderful town, the swing bridge which spans the river Esk was out of action, due to a broken part, which for a bridge over a hundred yrs old isn’t doing too bad. The awaited part was being custom made in Germany. And the town was effectively cut in half by the river going into the sea.. So the only way across town was either by free bus, which took around 10minutes or a quick 2minute boat ride across the river mouth, we chose the latter and by then end of our stay we had definitely got our sea legs as we hopped on and off the small fishing boats and ferries on wobbly jetties.

I spent time walking along the beaches and exploring the ruins of Whitby Abbey information on its history can be found by clicking these links

I just wanted to share a few photos of the spectacular Ruins more I will put in an album very soon.

Whitby is also famous for Captain Cook.

above you see Captain Cooks Statue and his Museum

Many streets are very narrow and cobbled

Here is an old steam Tram, which takes tourists around the town.

And last but not least its famous for Dracula with Author Bram Stoker. I didn’t see any Vampires though, But the skies did turn a little weird as I sat in the Abbey

I hope you enjoyed your trip with me.

The Nine Ladies Stone Circle

Nine Ladies Stone Circle

For some time now I have wanted to visit an old place that I last visited with an uncle when I was around 9 or 10 yrs of age.. The image of this place along with literature about stone circles have been cropping up for weeks now, and as I am one to follow synchronicities and intuition, on Saturday we went to Stanton Moor on the Derbyshire Hills. The day was cloudy but very warm, as my wisps of memory kept surfacing, as we set off to find the ‘Nine Ladies Stone Circle’

My hubby drove following the very narrow lanes with only room for one vehicle which from time to time had places wide enough to pass another vehicle, holding our breath as we went around tight corners hoping that we didn’t meet another vehicle coming in the opposite direction. We eventually found the Quarry which we had read about on the net, and so knew we were not far from it.. Although we managed to miss the main shorter entrance route, we followed our noses and headed off into the Woods and along the moors following the rough tracks, and enjoying the stunning views along the way..

We soon found a notice board giving us a walker’s route map, and knew we were heading the right direction.

I took some pictures along the way of the beautiful views over Rowsley .  I was extremely pleased with myself, as I felt full of energy, walking steadily, not rushing, talking in all that nature was offering, enjoying the butterflies, grasshoppers and the birds chirping over head as well as the odd sheep and moorland with its foxgloves and bracken, heathers and Bilberries.

After around an hour’s walk we entered a small thicket of wood, and as we did so, I felt the air and energy almost instantly change. The breeze we had enjoyed died down, and the air became very still and peaceful. I held out my hands palms down to the ground as I walked, I could feel the energies making my hands tingle as my heart beat that bit faster. Even my Hubby said he too had felt the shift in energy and commented how peaceful the place felt.

As we walked through the woods we saw families camping, with hammocks strung, and as we got closer to the Stone circle a young courting couple were sat holding hands in the centre, absorbing the energies this ancient site had to offer..

They obligingly moved while we took a few photos and we then joined them in the centre, sitting crossed legged I too then absorbed the peace this circle offered, and sent up my own meditative thoughts. Later we  the couple and I exchanged a few words of the original purpose for these stone circles, and pondered on the ancient ceremonies which took place at such sites. And discussed the energies felt. But I felt nothing but peace.

I felt slightly envious of this young couple who had camped there the previous night, and who said that this place held such tranquil and calm vibrations even in the dead of night. Wishing that I could stay longer and absorb more of this portal of energy.

I know that I was meant to travel once again to this site, as it awakened a new sense of purpose and peacefulness within me, that I hadn’t felt in weeks. As I came away I saw the offerings people and their own ceremonies had made to a small oak tree, as they tied ribbons, flowers and crystals to the tree. It did my heart good to know that many still on this earth understood the old ways of offerings to our Earth Mother, and connecting to the energies many have forgotten how to access and feel.

I too held the tree, adding my own thanks to this wonderful Earth, giving my own energies in exchange for the trees own healing powers, as I felt the tree pulsate beneath my hands…I  breathed in and felt invigorated and alive as I turned to leave this ancient site with a huge smile upon my face. Thanking our Earth Mother for her bountiful gifts..

The moor was once covered in Forest, of Larch, Fir and Oak trees, but was cut down in World War 1 by the First Canadian Army Women’s Corps to provide timber for the trenches in France.

Here is a picture of the Stone from the Quarry, used for building today.

Flat Stanley’s Adventures..

G’d Day to all of Dreamwalker’s friends out there.. My name is Flat Stanley on the account of me being Flat. Now I’m all the way from Queensland Australia, I needed to be Flat to get through the letterbox of me mate over in the U.K. who  is Dreamwalker.. And unlike you good folks, My creator is  a Great Pal of mine….  Jaiden… JL…for short. He made me and put some life into me by colouring me in. So Hello to you all out there in this Space Land.

Now I came to Britain to see a bit of the life they live out here.. Now you know that sometimes these English can be a bit stuck up you know.. Well Dreamwalker not a bit of it, she made me feel right at home.. Tucked me up in her pocket straight away..  and took me on a walk-about.

If you look in her album Flat Stanley’s Adventures  you will see Ive already been shooting arrows with old Robin Hood, I didn’t see too many of his merry men though.. But then Dreamwalker is pretty merry herself.. if you get my drift… seems she laughs alot.. and acts a bit strange at times… between you and me, she also cheats at Hide and Seek… she seemed to know just where I was, so I reckon she was peeking.. and she never counted to a hundred either… Shoooosh  though don’t say I said so….

Now where was I… Oh yes… well she took me on another walk-about.. She took me to this nature reservoir , which is a bird sanctuary  called Carsington Waters and she walked the pants of me… hum hummm…. sorry  JL.. she walked me legs off till I dropped…. Well she nearly did that as well, dropped me a couple of times… and she nearly had me flying once or twice in that wind… but I held on tight, and she put some sticky stuff, Blue tack I think she called it.. Plastered it all over my back… now how would you like to walk carrying all that stuff on your back an all?? I tell ya.. the things we have to put up with.. Now I didn’t see many birds as they were all out on the water and in the trees but I did here a few chirping away and I saw a Blue-tit in a nest box.. which Dreamwalker took a picture of..

Well anyways.. I walked till my little legs ached.. and I said now come on…. we have to stop at a water hole now and then.. Even though I’m only little I have to quench my thirst now and then you know I have an Aussie reputation to keep up… hum hummm…… so we called in this Great English Pub.. and I downed a glass of me favourite tipple… Diet Coke.. That was really lip-smacking stuff..

The Pub was what I call Ye-Old –Fashioned kind.. with them wood beams and a real fire roaring in the hearth..

She took me outside and I tried to make call Home… But I didn’t have enough pennies on me… Shame.. that…. I would have loved a long distance phone call with me Pal JL…

Then blow me we had to walk all the way back.. Dreamwalker said how well Id done… she had a few stops along the way, as she said her legs were aching too… but she was real pleased with herself as she reckoned she walked 6 miles all told..

So then we got back in her car, and then she said she would show me where a real Duke and Duchess lived.. Royalty!  Well you know how I just love the Queen.. so off we went to this Place called Chatsworth House..  We travelled through this Town called Matlock Bath, seems a lot of Bikers just love this place, they were all over the place.. seems its a bit of a tourist spot and there’s a place called Gulliver’s Kingdom there too with Abraham Heights seems that you have to go on one of those Gondolas you know them sky lifts that swing in the wind… If you look close at one of her pic’s you can see three of them in the air above the town.

Well we finally get to this Chatsworth House….. Blimey you should have seen the size of the place.. House,???  Huge it was….. We didn’t go in though just had a walk around the fields on the outside,  Dreamy said.. Hope she don’t mind me calling her that cause she well.. she’s in the clouds alot of the time.. thinking and humming to herself.. Well Dreamy said we could go around the gardens and house another day when  the sun shining and the plants out as I would enjoy it more..

So  I hope you enjoy the pictures she took, and there’s more in her album for you all to see

Good Day to you all… Stanley.. ..

Loch Lomond.. Scotland

Hello my friends..

I have been away from spaces for a few days..

I was lucky enough to take one of the ladies I help support away to enjoy a holiday of her choice..

She chose Scotland. The below view is the view from our Hotel..

We had a wonderful 5 days, ..

Seeing the beautiful countryside of Scotland hearing about the history

and breathing in ambience of peace as we sailed upon the loch.

We also took a train from Tarbet to Fort William..

taking in the magnificent scenery over a 2hrs train journey.. calling in at various stations along the way..

We went to Glasgow on Thursday,

and saw the architecture of old and new sitting in the red square where many statues are

This is where we ate our sandwiches..

And then of course we couldnt miss Gretna Green..

This is the place sweethearts can come and get married as young as 16 legally

This Piper played a fitting end to a wonderful Holiday that had the lady I support smiling and

Laughing all week long.. even the weather smiled on us..

I hope you enjoyed seeing some of my photo’s

That was a week that was!

The Hotel Pool

The Dunes

I had a beautiful weeks holiday..

Just what we both needed, to relax in some sunshine, and recharge both our batteries..

Thank you for all of your lovely comments and graphics that you posted on my guestbook while I was away..

Our holiday destination was the Gran Canaries..

A very pleasant island with some very, very friendly local people.

People are what I spent my time observing, all shapes, all sizes, all ages.

All Different.

I saw a very well groomed lady who was obviously travelling alone, and somehow managed to sit near to us where ever we went.. She didn’t speak much English, But we always exchanged pleasantries.. I figured that our energies must be in balance, or that we exchanged them, as I always felt peacefulness in her presence. Maybe she did in mine?

Then there was the Young Down’s Syndrome boy, he must have been around 14yrs old.. He travelled with his Mum and younger brother and sister.. Nothing stopped him from helping his Mum from setting the cutlery in its right place, or bringing her coffee, having done better than I at negotiating the coffee machines.. (as my first attempt I got hot water J) He was very serious and all grown up.. I never did see the father figure in their group!..

And then there was the lively 80yr old… A lady of wealth, from her white hair gathered up in jewelled combs to her diamond rings, to her dancing shoes. For Dance she did.. And she didn’t care she didn’t have a partner, she would waltz herself around the other couples with a serene smile upon her face and love each step she danced.. As she loved her swimming daily too, this put my own efforts to shame. And imagine everyone’s delight when upon our last evening, a new elderly mail guest asked her for a dance, and she floated around the dance floor as if her steps had been made to measure into his.. We all applauded..And she bowed gracefully in gratitude.

Then there was a young boy around the age of 6, who had his night made when a acrobatic group called ‘African Steps’ asked him for his help, he was lifted high and swung around with a grin that said.. “Look at me Mum I’m flying”… And Mum and Dad and Gran and Granddad looked in pride as their cameras flashed.

And then there was the hotel staff, so pleasant always obliging always smiling, when to be honest, I would have grimaced in some instances with rude guests.

The lady’s who made up our rooms each day… Singing and laughing..With always a pleasant Smile in their greetings..

And then there were the young couples, the mature couples, and the elderly couples, all holding hands,, Love was all around… If one looked for it..

Even the pigeons flew in pairs, and we watched a female pigeon search through endless pieces of dried grass, picking each piece up in her beak to discard it, until she found one the correct length, and off she’s fly to her nest in the tree, to return for another and another..

The Stray Cats too were all well fed, some by hotel staff, and others by holiday makers buying tins of cat food and water, and they would sit and purr their contentment back at you..

And of course you’ve probably all met one of these! A hotel guest who was arrogant, who thought they owned the place, who was loud and obnoxious to their spouse. One of these self important men had four towels he strategically placed for him and his partner, reserving the best of ‘His’ sunshine for morning and afternoon Sun. He constantly smoked huge Havana cigars, which he blew much to the annoyance of Poolside sunbathers; Just to make them move further away from him I’m sure. Plus he had the waiters jumping through hoops..

But for his presence, I wouldn’t have looked at how sad this man really was..And How rich I was..   For I felt if we took this man’s wealth away, what would he be?  And I know if I didn’t have a penny to my name tomorrow, Ok I may find it difficult, But I know I have the love of a family, And I Know that Each of us are connected, Yes even to this man who was arrogant, Each coming to Earth for lessons and Journey’s we all interact and need to learn from, each touching each other’s energy for however brief and encounter, All learning, travelling upon our paths

For a week I almost obliterated the real world out.

Seeing mainly the Good in people…

Thank you Great Spirit

For allowing me the privilege

Happy Holidays when your turn comes!
