A Sanctuary for Enlightenment and Peace through Poetry and Inspirational Thoughts as we go through Life

Each of us, carries within us the capacity to change the world in small ways for better or worse. Everything we do and think affects the people in our lives, and their reactions in turn affect others As the effect of a seemingly insignificant word passes from person to person, its impact grows and can become a source of great joy, inspiration, anxiety, or pain. Your thoughts and actions are like stones dropped into still waters, causing ripples to spread and expand as they move outward.. I hope that I can send a few ripples out via the web of life, as we each of us weave the threads together... Welcome to my Sanctuary of Peace and Love... May we each spread our Lights around our World....Sue Dreamwalker

I love horses, I used to ride. Sue, you’ve captured this one so sensitively, look at the eyes! Did you know him or her?
I have a little story…
When I was a child I was competing for some medals with my pony. I hadn’t long known him but we quickly bonded over the week. He was old and none of the other kids wanted him. Everyone thought he was too slow and not good looking enough. But, I spoke softly to him, looked him in the eyes and patted him, and was generally kind to him. Well, we won about 4 rosettes that day! We came first in a ‘race’ (I’m sure he was happy doing it and he wanted to please me!), and won either 1st or 2nd for the beauty pagant thing (I forget the name of it…gymkana?), as well as some other things. 34 years on I still remember him with a fond heart and have the rosettes stored somewhere. I am ashamed to say though, that I cannot recall his name.

I am sure your horse will not mind at all you do not remember his name.. The fact that you remember him is enough..
Yes I used to ride, though I did not have my own horse.. our family could not afford much at all, I was the eldest of 5 and we were quite poor compared to some..
But I lived in a small village and had school friends who were farmers.. They had horses. I would tag along and walk miles along their rides hoping for a ride which I would get around 15 mins worth lol..
I had some riding lessons which I knew cost a lot those days, enough to learn how to ride and control my mount…
I just adored horses, and my best friend had a grey.. This wasn’t based on any particular one, But it did bring back memories..
What a lovely story Faith, thank you so much for sharing it.. And yes gymkhana is right.. 🙂
Thank you for exploring, sorry to have taken a while answering, I have been busy in the allotments all week, and watching the Paralympics in the evenings and loving it.. Shows us the True Grit that goes into the training for these events..
Love Sue xxx
