Art in the Making.

I thought I would share with you some of what I have been creating over the last couple of weeks.. And why I have not been such a regular visitor perhaps to your blog posts.

My art has taken hold of my Heart again, and I am enjoying just vanishing into oblivion for a while as my paints touch the canvas.

While I have created a few watercolours,  I wanted to do a larger canvas. This is in Acrylic paints.

I had no idea at first what I wanted to paint.. But as I love cats, and have created quite a few in my time, if you scroll down to the right hand side of my side bar you will find many of them.   I thought how about a Big Cat..

This is far from finished, but you get the idea.

Have a Magical Sunday and a Beautiful New week.

Love and Blessings

~Sue~

Sorry to hear you have had that horrid flu that is doing its rounds… I did check in on your blog earlier and saw no updates.. Many thanks Steve, and yes, the difficult bit, the head is nearly done now since I took this photo. But I am not happy with it … So sitting back from it a little and reflecting how to best rectify .. 🙂

Beautiful painting. I love it!! It speaks to me tremendously as I have been going through Spiritual changes since my partner passed away. One of the change is material possession. I asked, “Why is this happening?” You are shedding your soul from humanity was the answer. Hence the unfinished painting you say of your big cat. I look at it and see that the big cat is shedding its spots from humanity as well. To me the big cat is finished. People will understand why you have been absent and if they were only following your blog because of getting a like then you will be shedding that piece away and somewhat toxic behavior. Stay creative

You know Joseph, I can not believe you said that.. But then I can. When I took the picture of the unfinished painting the very same thought about shedding spots and what we are clearing out right now hit home. And I could easily have left it as it is and been satisfied with it. But I also like a challenge.. And I have never done a leopard before.. And knew the head would be harder to get right.. And I did struggle yesterday, Altering the ear position back And altering the shape of the head slightly too, along with several paint overs of spots.. I spent 6 hours yesterday totally absorbed.. And felt a great sense of achievement when I signed it. And told myself no more faffing with it.. 🙂 It is not perfect by any means, but then what is perfection? other than in the eye of the beholder.. 🙂 Many thanks Joseph.. Today a time to catch up with my comment, Tomorrow back to my greenhouse model making lol 🙂 While it snows outside.. 🙂 As the Earth continues to Cleanse.. 🙂

I hear you Sue! Happens to me too with documenting the making of a painting, usually the middle stage is where things really flow and completely forget about photographing! It’s like everything disappears, fused within a vanishing point, there’s only the work moving until you step back and sort of re-enter another simultaneous here and now . . . hard to describe . . . enjoy ❤

I agree Linda.. This painting has taught me a lot while painting it.. Patience and persistence as I altered the head yesterday, and also taught me to just be bold and go with my instincts as I dabbed the spots on its head.. After several times, having to paint over them.. But I am happy with it.. Good to see you Linda. and sending Huge hugs your way xx ❤

Lovely to see you Lorrie.. and yes, from one creative being to another, we just follow the flow of our hearts.. And in doing so, we keep in alignment of that which we need to sustain us.. Being creative takes us into the zone of Peace, as we shed all else.. And it is probably why I felt inclined to post this picture half finished.. Showing we can shed our spots, if we wish.. I feel we are within that shift right now Lorrie.. Shedding, while replenishing ourselves. Death and Rebirth.. A fine line of balance in the natural world.. But all is is Divine Order.. :-D..
Sending Hugs and much love Lorrie.. Love and Blessings xxx

Painting, Music and Writing are all arts, yet to get very serious about those arts, one must retreat and get very silent…. Yen and Yang, I suppose, but when I’m active with society, that’s great and oftentimes extremely enriching – especially when one finds like-minded friends like you, but we neglect your arts… but painting/drawing/writing is also enriching and so very important for accessing those quiet places of our souls, yet we sometimes feel as if we’re neglecting our loved ones – or those random moments when we encounter a stranger, yet it’s an important exchange… so some of us juggle – we wean from yen to yang.. and from yang to yen, and if we find a good balance, it works!

I’ll be ‘online’ until the end of the week and am slowly catching up with what’s happening in the world.. so glad to picture you out there focused on your lovely painting/paintings!….

Lovely to see you are back on line dear Lisa.. and I am always enriched when our soul paths cross.. And yes I often juggle the net and my creative side… Yet writing and poems too all part of the arts as you have said.. But as you know, Painting seems to take us to that other place.. And sometimes when one is so absorbed its hard to return to the reality of this virtual world of the net.. Yet both enrich my soul.. As I have so many Soul sisters and brothers here in WP.. A Family from whom I do not like to be parted from too long.. 🙂
Wishing you a beautiful day.. Love and Blessings Lisa.. ❤ ❤

Dear Sue I am so happy when you take time out for nurturing the creative colors of your wonderful imagination. There is something special in store for us. Painting is a magical manifestation of our true creative genius and when we do so the perfect balancing of colors and patterns on our canvas, we suddenly see how easy it is to plays with words and thoughts, how writing gets the acceleration it needs, then we don’t relate to what is called as writer’s block.

Perfecting multiple art forms is a child play for you, poetry to philosophy to painting to photography… all comes with such ease and grace, it flows and forms a lasting impression for anybody who comes across your wonderful body of work. Here once again the canvas is taking the center stage, and by the way we may miss the tree for the forest, and here I must say the photography of yours galvanizes the glittering beauty of the painting, I just stopped once again and re-looked at the entire surrounding around the picture you have composed through the lens, subject looks radiantly vibrant – indeed a photographer’s delight.

Now coming to the painting, for the artist it is half done for the art lovers like me, it has a story to tell and like few of them so creatively spotted, is the half spots on the skin is like how we look at a half full glass or half empty glass, and both present perspective and its not about right and wrong. The visualization of the branch for the leopard to stretch its legs and get a full blown view of its muscle and the strength that it signifies. “My art has taken hold of my heart”, who else can weave magic thoughts through words, and I derive spiritual joy when I read such perfect play of words, you have loads of it and where there a beautiful blend of colors on canvas otherwise scattered in our hectic daily life.

This topic of “painting and writing” is so close to my heart as is yours that we can cherish every bit of our conversation on this wonderful subject. I always wonder how you manage to get the perfect recipe of doing the writing to the gardening to the painting, and then I understood the secret of your creative genius resides in that sublime confluence…and you keep subtly nurturing it.
Hope you are having a great Sunday dear Sue.
    Hugs!!!

Nihar my dear friend, thank you for all the thought you put into your comments here my friend.. I am truly touched by your words here. And thank you for looking so deep into the painting. When we pour our heart into any thing we create with love, it ceases to become a chore, So our writing becomes a work of art. our Gardens, our poetry, what ever we creat. And it is no coincidence I think that HEART and ART are part of the same word.. For Art has to come from our HEARTS.. Many thanks again Nihar.. I appreciate your thoughts 🙂

Indeed dear Sue when we put our heart into work, the art has to come out and so well said that art is part of heart, it is just that we don’t recognize the part of passion and we keep it apart, and the love and passion that goes into anything has to manifest in some form of beauty of life and that could be painting to writing, and that’s what connects us and we enjoy those wonderful relationship binding us through our work of art.
Painting has so many facets to present and it speaks volumes about a painter, and the type of subject you take for painting and the finesse that emanates from your canvas can only come with pure love and compassion…the myriad colors in painting makes everything so bright and beautiful much like you.
        Thanks dear Sue.
        Take Care!!!

Each of us, carries within us the capacity to change the world in small ways for better or worse. Everything we do and think affects the people in our lives, and their reactions in turn affect others As the effect of a seemingly insignificant word passes from person to person, its impact grows and can become a source of great joy, inspiration, anxiety, or pain. Your thoughts and actions are like stones dropped into still waters, causing ripples to spread and expand as they move outward.. I hope that I can send a few ripples out via the web of life, as we each of us weave the threads together... Welcome to my Sanctuary of Peace and Love... May we each spread our Lights around our World....Sue Dreamwalker
