Sink Deeper Still

Close your eyes and sink into the velvet dark

Now concentrate, can you see that spark

Of light, that pin-prick hole

Sink Deeper Still, to the centre of your soul

~~

Shut out the din, that constant clatter

Of who said what, and media chatter

Flick the switch, turn off the noise

Sink Deeper Still, into inner poise

~~

And when you reach those velvet depths

Allow your heart, in beats get swept

With Cosmic waves of Peace and Love

Sink Deeper Still to float above

~~

And as you rise up out of self

Your body’s functions no longer felt

That pin-prick hole now expands

Sink Deeper Still, to far off lands

~~

For now, we’re free to fly afar

Remembering we are made from stars

Each holding codes of long-lost Light

Sink Deeper Still, now out of sight

~~

And so, it is we ebb and flow

Experiencing Life in Cosmic Glow

Breathe in, breathe out, The Push and Pull,

Sink Deeper Still, in silent lull.

~~

When reaching Deep and Deeper Still,

As hearts expand with love to fill

That tiny Light you first did see

Explodes in Joy, For One are We.

The poem flows so beautifully to describe the stages of meditation. Only someone who has experienced it can put in such a lucid manner. 🙂 Thanks for sharing, Sue.

Beautiful meditation in a rhyming poem. Lovely. Yes the light is much nicer to be in for me although I do understand the balance of light and dark. The dark night of the soul which are useful to growth. However if we lived in the light I wonder if we would go through the dark night of the soul or balancing light and dark in our 3D dimensions. Just pondering lol. It is what I do best. Again beautiful meditation

Wow, Sue, just wow! Your words are exquisite and are a perfect representation what happens when we loose self and merge with All. I SO need to get back to meditation (still) to get my Mind to loose its chatter. I prefer moving meditation deep in the woods, truth be told. I have too many interruptions in my own home so if to seek still mediation, I must find the “spot” first. I had a hiking meditation today and it took quite some time for Mind to quiet. By the time I returned back to my car, I had to say to myself …. I’m sitting in my car. I’m holding the steering wheel. I’ve come back and now must drive. I actually had to sit until I was sure I was fully aware and back. Too funny!!! And then to keep that stillness …. ahhhhh …. now that is how to live life!!! Bless you for the Talent it takes to bring us all on the Journey of Meditation with you. The rhythm and the cadence are par excellent!! Thank you, dear friend!! 👏🏼🤗

Beautiful Sue, you have captured the essence of deep meditation which I try to capture again from the lazy hazy days in our retreat in Spain, but find rather difficult here in Blighty with so much going on and still to do until we can say we are truly settled. My closeness to your imagery is in the garden, quite natural I suppose since this is where my passion lies. Thank you so much for this timely reminder. Love, David

Your gift for poetry never ceases to amaze me, sweet friend. As I read, I saw that line, “we are all made from stars.” Oh yes – this is an exquisite statement. That “death meditation” I’m doing actually takes you on a journey and part of it you touch the sun, and bounce through the Milky Way galaxy..then to all the galaxies in their infinitude, but really…you become them, you connect to source….It’s so soothing and powerful and makes me look at death as new life, actually. An ascension into a different type of existence. But it also makes me wonder how much work I can do while walking this Earth to move to a higher consciousness. I know I’m quite far off. I was reading an article about “how to know if you’re reaching a higher level of consciousness” – let’s just say that I fit virtually none of the criteria. lol. But I can say that I appreciate enlightened beings who spread love and peace and gently prod us into trying to do better and be better. Beautifully written, sweet friend. You make me enjoy poetry so much!

Dear Cynthia, never take what one persons perception of reaching that higher plane as truth.. Our Truth, our levels are not always what others perceive them to be.. Look up a book entitled A Child of Eternity.. by Adriana Rocha, Some times higher souls take it upon themselves to descend into our realms for many reasons…
I wrote a poem last evening of standing on the edge of time, looking back at past lifes, which the book touches upon. And believe me when I say, I know another Light BEing when I see one LOL.. 🙂 So there!…
Many thanks for your kind and generous comment Cynthia.. I am really happy you enjoyed this particular poem.. ❤ Hugs Sue xx

The inner world is where we should be living a life that provides the much needed solace and bliss. We are so much trapped in the chores of external world, the distraction, the demand of life and the constant pressure of meeting the expectation that the society around sets on us. There is this constant tussle between the inner world and the world outside us, in other words the fight between the tangible and the intangibles, the mind over matter debate puts us on a tailspin. Here you have so beautifully put that composition of meditation in a flow and in in such subtle words that anybody who would like to venture into the inner world and discover those hidden nuggets of joy will be immensely delighted.

I read it couple of times to cherish those lovely words and the wonderful words of thoughts that literally migrate you into another world, the world we all so dearly miss and don’t know how to locate and navigate our way into such a vacuum, it is nothingness and we get everything there. A dichotomy of where we land up and what we get there, and suddenly we discover that spark of bliss in our life and we are ready to fly, we become free bird and we get the wings which otherwise was tied up and we had that self-imposed exile and we left in the lurch when we keep confronting the reality and the world outside us, not welcoming and not allowing us to embrace the way we wanted it to be, there is a massive disconnect and we get lost in the wilderness…

Also there is this hide and seek that we play with light and darkness, life mirrors that contrast. What is light without the presence of darkness, in fact darkness is the absence of light and light gains the significance it has with the darkness around it, and life is what in the absence of death, and if there was no death, how else we would have looked at life, perhaps difficult to visualize. It is energy that governs our life, and light is a form of energy that enlightens us and we keep searching for multiple sources of light that can brighten our life.

Thanks dear Sue for such delightful enlightenment and coming from you make it that special. I thoroughly enjoyed the spiritual engagement I have read a number of time and have been able to translate into a working model, where reciting the poem and closing my eyes, I am trying to enter into that special zone of self, disconnected from the world outside and soulfully connected with the self.
Hope you are having a great Sunday.
    Hugs and Take Care!!!

Each of us, carries within us the capacity to change the world in small ways for better or worse. Everything we do and think affects the people in our lives, and their reactions in turn affect others As the effect of a seemingly insignificant word passes from person to person, its impact grows and can become a source of great joy, inspiration, anxiety, or pain. Your thoughts and actions are like stones dropped into still waters, causing ripples to spread and expand as they move outward.. I hope that I can send a few ripples out via the web of life, as we each of us weave the threads together... Welcome to my Sanctuary of Peace and Love... May we each spread our Lights around our World....Sue Dreamwalker
