Peace and Tranquillity

Spending time out in Nature for me is one of the joys of life. And in June of this year, I got to go to the fabulous RHS Chatsworth Flower Show.   During Summer I spend more time out in nature tending our allotments and our home garden..   This last couple of weeks as you saw in my last post here on Dreamwalkers Sanctuary  I have been busy watching Wimbledon, and what a fortnight it has been with some amazing tennis played and some remarkable wins.

So along with some Photo’s I took of the flower exhibits at Chatsworth here is a poem I wrote some years ago now that you may find elsewhere on my blog , as I looked and as coincidence will have it I re-posted it around this time last year.

Enjoy the flowers.. I hope too you find time to go out into Nature and enjoy all she has to offer, as you find your own corner of Peace and Tranquillity. Sending you All Love and Light as I gradually work my way to repaying your lovely visits.. xxx

Tranquil Garden

Sitting in the garden, as Blackbird sings her tune,

Summer is here, as we welcome the month of June

Foxgloves are in flower, as the Bumblebee explores

And new growth is around us, this time I just adore.

The fountain in the garden is tranquil, hear it flow

As peacefulness surrounds me, As I drift in Sun’s warm glow

The wind chimes they do tinkle, and the breeze just gently blows

And the pigeon in the tree top her cooing never slows

A neighbours cat is cooling, laid out beneath the shade

Oh how I love these tranquil, peaceful lazy days.

The grass appears much greener, or is it just my eyes,

For when we are contented, nature gives us our best prize.

We just have to take a moment in quiet thoughtful pose

To enjoy the bliss around us and be thankful I suppose.

Do we ever take a moment to give our heartfelt thanks?

For somewhere people are fighting and living with enemy Tanks.

So Bless those quiet moments of peace within your home for you never know when it could be shattered, and darkness soon enclose

So enjoy the moments of each bright new sunny day

As we say goodbye to rain-clouds in this last day of May,

We are blessed with our 5 senses to experience such beauty under the umbrella of nature here on earth. There is such beauty in everything if you can see it or allow for you to see it. You always bring pleasing photos on your blog and what is inside a person is displayed subconsciously for every body to read or view which is a glimpse of your spirit on the pages of your blog. Well done and stay beautiful inside that is where it counts. Be peaceful

So many in this war torn world never get to see the beauty of nature, their homes in ruins and their cities piles of rubble and still we deny them safe haven in our sacred space of Great Britain. If only your poem could be read by those in government who are intent on turning beautiful GB into Fortress UK and deny those lost in war the opportunity to share our peace and tranquility. If only! We only have a small space, but it is heaven in Devon to us and would willingly share it with others. Your words hit the heart dear Sue. Love, David

Oh, Sue, such a place of peacefulness. To me, there is no better place to recharge, reconnect, and recover than a flower garden (except perhaps a place at the ocean… lol) – most of all when it includes water. The poem goes wonderfully along with the photos. Thank you for this Sunday morning gift!!

Yes Sue we see the contrast in the nature with all its beauty and bounty that is showered on us. There, that part of the world you are leaving the rain and soaking in the gentle sunlight of the new season of summer, here in India, this part of the world we are just the reverse and we just said goodbye to summer and we busy welcoming the love of first bout of rains and it has been fascinating last couple of rainy weeks. Nothing can be a better source of nurturing our senses than with the brighten nature and I am sure you can share the same feeling with the first set of sunshine. With all your mastery and masterpieces on nature, it gives us the space to soak with the serenity of words and thoughts that you share with us so generously.

Thanks once again and this post of yours adds to that vigor and vitality of your presence in our life.

Digressing from main topic since you mentioned. Wimbledon, I am big fan of Roger Federer, and I am writing while watching his class and such is his elegance and grace the more we watch the more we fall in love with his brilliance of mastering the art of not just playing but performing on the grass the way he does so every time he enters the center court. I am waiting for the right result and seeing him become the greatest player of all time. I don’t know much you like his play, maybe I am going overboard and boring you on extending my obsession for Roger.

Every moment in our life is important and we should cherish those little moments and not wasting and waiting for celebrating only during the big moments. Just being out in the nature and allowing us to slip into the fragrance and the surrounding of green and grand garden around us…

Thanks so much Sue for reminding, inviting and engaging with us the aspects of nature we grossly ignore due to our hectic parleys of work, meetings and business dealings.

So pleased to have another Roger Federer, fan and I was watching the match too.. 🙂 And no you did not bore me at all, I have followed him for years.. And this is his 8th win now a new world record.. So was happy for him but did feel for Cilic as you could see how much it meant to him.. But the injury and pressure got to him..
Its been interesting watching the whole fortnight, seeing those who are determined and focused how they come through their games.. While those who lose control and get over emotional and get angry with themselves, then start to fail.. Showing us again how the Mind plays a huge part in delivering our Dreams
You can see how they hang onto their last game they lost, rather than letting it go and living in the Moment..
And yes, living in the moment so important.. As we embrace it only once.. one moment at a time..
So I have been making the most of my own moments my good friend.
And as you know.. Nature plays a huge part in each moment I breathe.. 🙂
Many thanks Nihar.. I will be around tomorrow now to catch up again with your good self and your posts.. As I close for the evening..
      Love and Blessings
      Sue 🙂 ❤

I was thrilled to see the results though I was pretty confident still there was this lurking fear which I have seen in the last few years where he has fumbled in the finals, I still remember all his matches and especially the ones in the long finals with Rafael Nadal and then with Novak Djokovic. The five setter final loss with Nadal was heart breaking for me, that was the year he was struggling against him, and then came the last couple of years where he has just falter when pitted against Djokovic.
Yes, I feel for Cilic as it was evident how much he valued that trophy, and also it was an one sided affair and his injury didn’t allow him to present his best foot forward, maybe the semi-final five setter must have taken a toll out of him.

Not to mention the challenge of being at the big stage, perhaps the biggest stage of tennis world…mind game and conditioning the mind to focus when it matters the most comes with rigor and training that Federer has mastered it.
His calm and composure in tough times and in most difficult situation has been his hallmark where he meanders his way out to great success, and this year the break he took has given him the fresh bout of energy which he is using generously and it for all of us to see it…age is just a state of mind!!!

I can keep talking on him, and I just enjoy the joy he provides to fans like us with his trademark blend of elegance and grace.
Thanks as always Sue for touching on different topics and this time the talk on Federer & Wimbledon is equally fascinating to debate.
        Have a wonderful week ahead!!!
        😀

You made my day dear Nihar with that comment, my own views echoed within your words..
Mind plays a huge part.. Federer by taking time out, got his balance back into perspective.. I watched an interview with him and he said how much that time out had meant to him as he was able to spend more time with his family.
We forget that Tennis is played all year round, in various world events, and the training is none stop. So seeing him take time out from the world stage, while getting himself healed and prepared both physically and mentally, worked for him..
He has a lovely personality and young family to be proud of..
Many thanks dear Nihar, I always love our exchanges.. 😀

I agree Sue, Great People have a great Family behind them to support the cause they have chosen to make a difference and Federer has it all. It was beautiful to see his wife and the two lovely twins lost in the big stage where his father is creating history they are confused by the focus on them at present.

There is so much to learn from him, the humility and also the preparation by taking break, and top of it the belief he has on his ability and the commitment to go the long haul.
Indeed a joy to watch him play and thanks Sue for initiating such a lovely discussion on such a wonderful player.

Good to know you are content working away on your new book dear Debby, I have one or two people who are WP friends who seem to be experiencing the exact same weather, constant rain and low temps, not growing weather at all, and crops getting flooded..
I know how this feels, as we had a summer and autumn like it a few years ago..
Summer here is rarely hot, and so you can imagine my delight waking each day to a Sunny Day.. So yes, making the best of it.. Today knitting in the shade, and enjoying blue skies.. ( though a storm is predicted for this evening ) but the rain will be welcomed just the same, as it saves us carrying watering cans for 2 hours each morning on the Veggie plot.. 🙂
Sending Huge hugs.. Love and Peace returned xxx

Lovely flowers from the show 🙂 I’m hoping to visit Kew Gardens when I’m my week’s annual leave next week, so long as the weather isn’t as bad as it has been some days recently! Nature put on a beautiful lightning show last night for example 🙂 With all that’s going on in the world of late I would be only too happy to retreatback to nature, and have been doing so in the garden with the company of sun, birdsong an ever more friendly robin and a beautiful little back cat who visits me for cuddles when relaxing alone in the garden is happening! However we don’t have your lovely flowers to view…and the landlord might not take well to me digging a vege patch! Even big fat wood pidgy has returned and doesn’t seemed phazed by presence anymore…I notice there are three little young wood pidgys in tow too!! 🙂 I need some of your flowers though for bees lol and to accompany the butterlies 🙂 xx

Just wanted to take a moment and come by to say hello, sweet Sue! The retreat is going well. I only have internet when I sit on the porch of the lodge – which is a good thing. It ensures that I get a lot of writing and drawing done at my campsite. LOL. And lots of meditating. 🙂
Thank you for all your sweet comments. You really just have a way with words as is so evident by your glorious poems.
Ah, the novel I’m writing. Oh, how I wish it could be like Redfield’s. I’ve read almost all the Celestine Prophecy books and there’s a newer one out that our library has.
My book…it’s turning into a random love story, but…there’s a supernatural element to it. I cannot write a story without including something from The Other Side. Haha.
I have been hoping Spirit would infuse me with a Redfield-like book, but then I realized on a hike today that Redfield is already taken – by none other than himself! LOL.
Perhaps a folksy story will help open others’ minds to The Other Side. And well, I’m not planning this book and I meditate before writing, but apparently Spirit has a wicked sense of humor. Giggle.
Those flower gardens up there are glorious, by the way. Where I’m staying, there is this incredible garden with hundreds and hundreds of butterflies. It’s such a sight to see. Perfect for meditating.
And you know, Wimbledon is one event where I will sit down and watch if I have the time. I used to play so much tennis when I was younger. It’s given way to mountain biking and nature walks. Not a bad trade. I still have my tennis racquets, though. I do get out from time to time. Do you play?
And how’s the cardigan coming? I’m imagining such a beautiful piece of work in my head that is so characteristic of my wonderful Sue! You are such a gem. Guitar. Knitting. Crocheting. Watercolors. Poetry. Writing. Tennis. Gardening. You’re a girl after my heart! ❤
Sending you warm hugs and will be back to regularly posting and responding soon. Sending you rays of light, hugs and sunshine! xoxo

Aww thank you so much for letting me know how the retreat is going Cyndi.. Sounds fantastic.. The butterflies and garden right up my street.. 🙂 The cardigan, well I am on the front bands now.. I made a error and had to undo one band, and start again.. My husband said you just sat an hour knitting that up now you are unravelling it.. Yes, but it has to be right, no good knitting it up wrong.. lol.. At one time I would get cross with myself, these days I just shrugged my shoulders and said to myself, Patience is being taught here. So go with it.. And the next time I did knitted it, it came out right. But I put it down now for a day as my hands get sore.. And went to pick flowers from the allotments this afternoon..
The wind picked up so I ended up tying all the flowers more secure, as it was really blustery and forecast heavy rain and high winds later as Britain sits in the middle of a low pressure..
Enjoy your writing and meditating dear Cynthia and will catch up soon.. Mega Hugs Sue xx ❤

@"Spending time out in Nature for me is one of the joys of life." – oh, yesss!!! I do agree with Monsieur Thoreau:“I think that I cannot preserve my health and spirits unless I spend a few hours walking – sauntering through the woods, over the hills and fields, absolutely free from all my daily engagements…"(Henry David Thoreau)

‘Oh how I love these tranquil, peaceful lazy days.’ What a great line in the poem to describe summer, and it those summer days are just lovely. Good to hear you went to the flower show and it must have been very inspiring to see many flowers and plants, and maybe you got some ideas on what you might want to grow and harvest next 🙂

Wimbledon was an amazing two weeks. Great competition, great matches, and so happy that Roger won 😀 I’m guessing summer is still in full swing for you, so enjoy it and keep tending to that garden 🙂 x

So lovely to hear that summer is still swinging. And summer must also be still swelling and singing in your backyard 🙂 Your garden and allotments must welcome those thunderstorms – a massive drink for them 😀 Oooh Special Hugs. And I give Special Hugs right back to you and the plants ❤

Nice to know Sue that you are enjoying the long summer days and the bliss of nature.Flowers have the power to instantly put you in a positive frame of mind. The Alliums and Hydrangea look so beautiful. On reading the poem, I recalled how I enjoyed my walk through Regent’s Park in London, which used to be full of flowers and birds during this time of the year. In the winters all the greenery would be replaced by snow. So, as you have said in your poem, it makes good sense to enjoy the moments of each bright new sunny day.
And yes, it was delightful to see Muguruza’s sensational win in the Women’s final in Wimbledon.
Hope you are having another great Sunday, Sue. 🙂

Mother Nature has music in her for those who can feel it. I always feel peaceful amidst nature. The tranquillity and beauty of nature make my mind full of gratitude; that I’ve the senses to feel her. The flowers of the flower show are a treat to the eyes. Your poem perfectly paints the picture of the order of nature in a beautiful way!

I was so happy with Federer winning for the eighth time! Also, missed Serena who couldn’t take part due to her pregnancy. Glad to know you enjoy tennis, Sue… ❤

Nature has everything we are lacking. Therefore, I believe it is a crime to destroy nature and its resources.
I am just like you: whenever I can I turn to nature for everything.

Each of us, carries within us the capacity to change the world in small ways for better or worse. Everything we do and think affects the people in our lives, and their reactions in turn affect others As the effect of a seemingly insignificant word passes from person to person, its impact grows and can become a source of great joy, inspiration, anxiety, or pain. Your thoughts and actions are like stones dropped into still waters, causing ripples to spread and expand as they move outward.. I hope that I can send a few ripples out via the web of life, as we each of us weave the threads together... Welcome to my Sanctuary of Peace and Love... May we each spread our Lights around our World....Sue Dreamwalker
