I hope you have all had a wonderful Easter Break.
May I just thank all who are my regular readers here for all of your wonderful contributions to comments I appreciate you all. Also may I say welcome to all new followers which have been many who have joined this year. I hope you enjoy browsing and reading.
Over the Easter weekend, we have spent many hours in our garden, planting seeds and weeding out.. So time for writing a new post has been limited.. So looking for inspiration I looked through my WP archives and came upon this aptly named post. Which I will re-schedule and post again .. Enjoy..
Today I was reminded once again about Seeds, as I was updating and deleting many of my Old Word Documents today I came across this piece I wrote back in 2007. And as nothing is ever by Chance! It was part of a post I did on a forum. It didn’t have a title and I can’t even remember if I posted it .. But I will give it a title today..
Scattered Seeds of Thought.
Are we not all seeds? Have we not all been scattered?
Some may have fallen upon what is termed ‘the good earth’.
Whereby some may feel they have had all the benefits of a rich material upbringing.
Some seeds scattered may have felt they missed the ploughed furrow, the less fortunate circumstances, but have still had a good foundation in which to grow.
And others have fallen upon the rocky edges where they have struggled to extend their roots to draw upon the nourishment and courage to grow, and have shriveled in their insecurities.
While others get entangled within the weeds, as they flounder, seeking to find themselves but being overshadowed by others until the wheat is no longer recognizable.
We may feel that it is the farmer’s hand of fate which determines where we shall fall?
But does not every seed have within it the same potential of growth?
Does not each seed no matter upon which ground it falls extends its roots downward searching for that nourishment which to feed from?
Does it still not lift its head and bend searching for the light?
Each of us has that potential to grow to bloom no matter what path we find ourselves upon.
I have witnessed many beautiful flowers that have fallen into crevices upon my concrete pathway, which I have marveled that they have taken root and bloomed.
And I have often wondered at the strength of the weed, as I have seen the dandelions push there way through solid tarmac growing healthily and strong.
And I have planted many a good plant in good fertile earth, fed and fussed over it, only to have it wilt and die
We have many fertile fields awaiting us. And that there are millions of different seeds we can sow.
But we must bring to our attention to the seed within, the strength we need to find starts within that centre of our Being.
To unfold ourselves to the warmth of the sun
We need to reach forever upward to allow ourselves to absorb that life giving
‘Light’.
It is only ourselves that give us Labels. It is only ourselves who determines what is a weed and what is a flower..
Within Our Earth Mothers Garden we are all equal in beauty all of us grow from the same beginnings.. We each of us start life as a seed..
The Harvest of Life is soon about to show us
What we Sow, so shall we Reap..
May we Keep Planting LOVE, HARMONY and PEACE.

Love it DW !!!! Excellent. Lots of seeds being tossed about right now. It will be truly amazing to see what the final garden ends up producing for us to harvest. I hope most are good seeds and the blossoms and fruits serve us well. Such an amazing time to be here, everyday I marvel at what is taking place, so thankful I was chosen to witness it all unfold. Thanks DW….Stay in the light…VK 🙂

Good morning! Beautiful post. It reminds me of this hymn:
“Seed, scattered and sown,
wheat, gathered and grown,
bread, broken and shared as one,
the living Bread of God.
Vine, fruit of the land,
wine, work of our hands,
one cup that is shared by all,
the living Cup, the living Bread of God.”
And that reminds me of the life cycle… beauty in the process of life and death… how what is sown is reaped… and transformed. How it is in the reaping of the harvest, and not a single plant, that produces grain to make living Bread from the gifts of our lives… how we are both the seed and the farmer… 😉 Thank you.
Smiles & peace to you on this beautiful day. (p.s. I love the dandelion!!)

What a beautiful Hymn and it fits beautifully with the post Angela.. Yes I love Dandelions and I happen to drink Dandelion tea as well as loads of Nettle Tea.. Those weeds are wonderful Healing herbs.. And the Garden of Life is full of all our individual gifts. Just as each Season brings its own gifts to the cycle of the year.. We too go through our own Seasons in Life. Many thanks for stopping by to add your own gift 🙂 xxx

I too, drink dandelion tea. I have not tried nettle tea, but I have learned about nettle’s many health benefits in reading up on the wisdom of natural remedies compiled by Hildegard of Bingen (an extraordinary visionary of 11th Century Germany.) The healing gifts God has given us in nature are amazing! So-called “weeds” are not to be discredited! 🙂

There are many so called ‘Weeds’ Angela, which have tremendous healing properties, But the Pharmaceutical Industry would sooner we swallow chemicals which create side effects so we can then swallow more Chemicals to combat the side-effects… a win-win situation for them . And that is an area our eyes need to be prised open to as we fit the pieces together .. As we look beneath the layers of control..
If we could all grow our own remedies and use the Weeds Alleviate pain, and combat various illnesses, and collect them from our gardens.. That would put those Big Corporations out of business now wouldn’t it… so you have to ask yourself why some Chemicals are legal that can lead to so many complications and give us so many side illnesses to our Health, and some of our most natural substances on earth are illegal?? 😉

It is the desire to grow my friend… I have seen many seeds spring forth into very good flowers with little furtile soil Prenin.. in fact some hardly have had any soil… as they fall between the cracks in the pavements….
So too in life there are those who are willing to change their thought patterns, and habbits of a life time.. As they see there is another Way.. in fact there is only one way and that is to love… Love not only another, but to love life, Nature and realise that we are part of everything and everything is part of ourselves.. and together we are complete..

Sue, this is my very favorite part of this awesomely wonderfully and encouraging post:
“It is only ourselves that give us Labels. It is only ourselves who determines what is a weed and what is a flower.” And how many times has a breattakingly beautiful wildflower been called a weed! Bloom where you are planted, I have been told–and I appreciate this excellent advice. Also, the point at which you inserted the world “Light” was just perfect. We all need more and more light from above and from each other!

Granbee, thank you, Yes we are all of us Light Beings.. and all of us have the potential to Bloom… We all of us seek that ‘Light’ as we aspire to grow in wisdom and in years.. It matters not from which background we fall, for we can all use the tools given… And even those thistles which may prickle and thorns that bring blood are all planted within the Garden of Life. Beside every Nettle we find a Dock leaf.. ALL is perfect if we would not search for the imperfections.. xx Hugs xx

Awww! The garden which is blank and all people planting their seeds everyday and hence we don’t know what kind of garden we shall reap. Humanity is basically good and misguided at times that is why there are people on this earth planting seeds of confidence patiently, silently to tip the status quo in a flavor of light. Happy gardening and let us remember each seed planted is the product you will receive at the other end. Be well.

I like your seed analogies 😉 And yes, we all have the potential to grow in whatever soil we have been planted. I’ve seen ferns sprouting out of recently cooled lava; trees rooting within cracks in huge granite boulders. We can all amend our soil, feeding ourselves needed nutrients in the way of ingesting words and concepts that counter a rough beginning. Though let’s not kid ourselves, it’s hard to imagine how some rise from the most dire of circumstances. Indeed, all is possible, though one wonders sometimes at the justice of it all. Still, compassion latches on like roots and spreads with our innate understanding of life’s most rigorous challenges. Who knows which of these seeds will rise to carry forth solutions in tomorrow’s world? Aloha, dear Sue ❤

While I abhor the liberal use of ‘labels’ without careful study – I willy-nilly label meself and the world around me, just to give it beginning context until I learn better/more – – LOL – I’m seriously, all excited about taking a whole bunch of seeds – flower, herb, vegetable, multi-use – for the time of season/temp – and scattering to see what takes root and what does not – – seriously hoping, my Grande Experiment doesn’t land me aeons in front of the Judgement Hall, answering for my sins of ‘scattering seeds, in my scattered way, with not thought to their pain of rotting in the ground….” – – 🙂 Wonderful post and thanks – been feeling very scattered, this spring – so if nothing else,, just projecting me own world onto the plant world – but I have faith in them and Mother Nature – 🙂

This is a really beautiful post, Sue. It has so much truth in it. Some of us have much easier starts to our lives than others but all of us have an opportunity to grow into something beautiful.

Sue, I really loved this post, so glad you salvaged it from the archives. We truly are all seeds scattered around the earth. It would be beautiful if we all bloomed to lovely flowers and spread more seeds to overpower the stubborn weeds. And gratefully the beautiful flowers will dominate. 🙂 Hugs my friend. xoxo ❤

Lovely Sue! What a beautiful poem. It goes along with an interesting theme that’s been popping up the last couple of days: that which we focus on is what “grows” – where our thoughts are, and what we do with them…
I have a good friend who did a blog post about learning not to complain…and saw an article about a scientist who nurtured four slices of apple – to one she said happy things, to another mean things, to another she complained and to another she ignored – the “happy slice” looked like yummy dried fruit after 30 days and the others wilted and molded. Thoughts are energy.
And if we focus on growth, we can do brilliant things. I tried something in meditation this morning: I focused on making a living doing what I love and selling just enough books, for example, to meet my needs and connecting with folks to inspire them to a more loving, compassionate life. I didn’t do this for the whole hour, but perhaps like 20 minutes. Then I went back to focusing just on breathing.
I’m intrigued at where that might go, but I also did something else: I held a quartz crystal for the first time. Just trying little things to see what happens. 🙂
But your poem made me think of this, for truly, we reap what we sow. It echoes what seems to be a repeating pattern this week. And I’m encouraged every day: every day, still, for months, I see repeating 3’s – at least several times per day. I interpret this as my sign to keep going, doing what I’m doing.
And then I see your beautiful posts and wonderful words and I’m bathed in hope and love and light.
Thank you, sweet Sue! ❤

Really a beautiful post Sue, thank you for posting this here 🙂
This is really food for thought and you are so right.
Is there any special reason for your change, so we can’t share your beautiful articles and thoughts any longer? This might give you new readers too.
Much love ❤

The analogy of seeds is a meaningful one. We really do scatter like seeds and like every seed, each one of us has the potential to grow up to be a fine tree. Just the opportunity differs. I loved your words on labelling ourselves, perfectly said.
Glad you shared this old post… ❤

We do indeed Mani.. May we all grow stronger and brighter, learning to care for our Earth Mother.. Owe in our thoughts that illusion of reaping something positive to live life. As always, your sensitivity snatches. The best of your writing. To continue to dream of finding happiness in words like yours.

I have columbine growing in the split of my porch stairs. It keeps coming back, no matter how often I yank it out. I love that things reseed, even in the most unlikely places.
