Remember Them and Remember it is up to us.

I was searching for a post to tie in the significance of today to what is happening within our world right now..  So for those new to my blog I am re-posting this post which was written some years ago upon my blog.

 I hope we can Remember that each thought and action creates our future tomorrows..  Let us Begin to build bridges between our differences and find peaceful solutions to working through them.

Love and Light..

Remembrance Day this year commemorates 100 years since the Great War of 1914 as well as WWII in 1945.

As we lay our poppy wreaths and say our silent prayers as we remember those who fell during these past Battles, Let us also not forget ALL of those who are still falling today..

It seems Mankind does not learn from Past Wars as he rages on forever doing battle. All we  seem to do is create  yet more sophisticated weaponry to maim and kill even more multitudes in our so called progression!.. It seems to me Man has progressed Little. For he still can not live side by side his fellow man in peace.

While I so wish to promote Peace upon my blog, this is also a Sanctuary to bring awareness to my readers. So let us not forget all of those who are still suffering right now at the hands of War.. And I would ask you to ask yourself WHY? Why is it we still join in battle to kill one another? Why is it we still throughout the many centuries do we embrace War as a solution in over coming differences.. And if our Governments were really embracing Peace.. Then also ask yourself why are they so ready to Go to War?..

I think many of us are aware enough to see beyond that which we are shown!. I am still always aghast at Man’s inhumanity to Man. And how we become blinked and almost anesthetized to daily reports of the horror we commit against each other in the name of religion.  This battle seems to have been waged since time began..  What God promotes War and Suffering? We are the ones doing that.. ‘Sigh’

I wrote the first half of this poem for Remembrance Day in 2010, the second half I wrote today. in 2014  And still we are sat in the same Zone of Remembering..

  Remember too.. That if we want to change the World to become more Peaceful then We are the ones who have to Remember it is up to us to Change it, and Live in Harmony and Peace with our fellow Human Beings..

Remember them of yesterday..

Remember them that fell today,

Remember them in faraway lands

Remember them for they too had plans

Remember Them…

Remember the old soldiers of World war one..

The Great War to end all wars that was won..

Remember too all the battles that still rage

As History turns yet another page..

Remember them..

Remember too all who serve,

With medals adorned and well deserved.

The medics who brave their lives to retrieve

Those brave soldiers who too they grieve

Remember them.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Remember too all the children who die
Let us not forget their silent cries
We can not keep turning our eyes that are blind
Remember People We are One of a Kind
Remember Them…
It matters not what creed that we follow
We need more love in our hearts not one’s that are hollow
As bulletins belch the cruel acts we abhor
Right into our homes as we accept yet more War
Remember too We have a Voice
Remember we are the ones who have a Choice..
Remember..
Look around you the destruction is rife
Even toys and Cartoons create battles and strife
Open your eyes and Open your hearts
And Remember to create Peace
It is Now we must Start!
Remember!.. It is up to US to Alter our Ways
If we are to bring Peace for future Days..
    Beautifully expressed. The only thing we can do for the past is to remember it. In the present, we must reflect on our own inner violence and turmoil.
    Great poem DW and great words as well. Yes, why DO WE still join in battle to kill one another? It is so insane when you really think about it! How did we ever get this bad off? We sure fell hard from Grace! Hopefully we are climbing back up the ladder. I would like to think that I will see peace in the world in my lifetime! A tall order to fill, but I’ll keep trying 🙂 Blessings to you and much love..VK ❤
Yes it would be nice to think we could find Peaceful means of living together in our life time VK.. All we can do is keep on keeping on our own Pathway and leading by example… Lets hope the ripples we send will soon turn into Waves.. x x x ❤ Hugs DW
    Well said Sue! 😦
    When leaders see war as a tool, the deaths of those who fight under their orders as inconsequential, then we edge closer to utter disaster.
    God help us all… 😦
      Many thanks again for your thoughts Prenin… War is a tool Prenin… for many reasons, for Control, for Fear, for Profit, and for the destructive force of annihilation.. God my good friend resides within each of us.. So it really is up to us… to help ourselves bring about Peaceful solutions and not judge and get caught up within the Anger of the World..     A beautiful tribute Sue. It is sad that our governments believe killing and destroying lives is the answer. That they believe the last one standing is the winner. Greed, power and money rules.
    Control and possession, when taken to their extreme, cause death. This can be seen in the individual who lives by these precepts, and who dies diseased, and on a national and supra-national level too, where oppression and violence, borne of the same desire to control and posses, cause death.
      Amy, I can understand why your hubby wishes to shut his mind… To think and absorb words of such a nature will often I presume be a painful reminder of the Past conflicts which have scared and torn and shredded his own ‘Peace of Mind’…. And until he allows his own Healing process to take place within his own heart and mind.. It will be a difficult road to walk upon.. So many Veterans, especially of Vietnam.. So many young soldiers gone, so many returned disturbed and troubled and so many left without thought from a government who used them up and spat them out.. It’s no wonder he would not listen… Who can really blame him, or others.. My heart goes out to your both.. and to all who went through and who are going through such tough emotional journey’s .. Tears here too xxx ❤ xxx
        I’m crying from your words of concern and Love. My husband is so broken, Sue, and he is not getting better. My Dream of helping him find Peace is not manifesting. Yes, he is the one who must decide this, not me, but for years, I have constantly showed him Love, and Peace, stuck by his side when no other woman would have. What you resists persists and so, along with your words, I gently again let go. I have done all I can possibly do. It is now up to him to choose death or to choose Life. Truth be told, I really don’t know how he is still alive. Perhaps it is from my Light. I would like to think so, for I still do not wish him to go to his death broken as he is now. With Love, Amy
          Dear Amy………. I know no one better who has shared love and who has tried to heal a broken heart… We come into this life dear friend and we meet and greet those whom we are meant to help along the way.. I am certain had your love been not as great, the wound he has carried would have been all the greater.. But I respect what you have said.. And agree.. We can not keep on carrying another’s burden. We have to let it go, and allow them their free will in choice.. As hard as that is… We have to realise we are all upon our own pathways.. Our own journey’s.. And Sometimes no amount of shaking a tree will loosen all of the leaves, They have to be shed in their own time And sometimes dear Amy.. The Winter is a long LONG dark night… All we can hope is that Spring and the letting go of the old, will allow new growth so that renewal may sprout forth..
          I pray with you dear Amy.. For I know only too well after my own dark night.. and break down.. that the only one who can help me, is Me.. And your hubby has to want to help himself.. We can not do it for him..
          Bless you dear friend.. xx you have my Heart ❤
It is the hardest thing to watch a man destroy himself. I don’t know how much longer I can do this without myself breaking. This is why today I seek Mother. She alone can bring me restoration like no other. (((HUGS))) Amy
    What a sane voice of peace and brotherhood your poem rings in sue to all those who are keen to listen…be it vietnam or iraq or WWs 1 & 2 or the border conflicts raging across historical border posts and claims around india , china , pakistan or the south china sea , there seems to be no end to madness of conflicts over issues that are best discussed and thrashed out across the ‘table of brotherhood’ (as martin luther would have longed for)…. may your words amplify many times over to as wide an audience as possible….best wishes…raj
      Beverley, YES! you are so right.. We are reaping what we sow.. And as you rightly point out.. If we keep on taking sides, and have hatred in our hearts, and judge others through other’s opinions without having the rational thoughts of LOOKING and SEEING the world through our own view point and making changes in our own thinking..I agree.. We will get more of the same.. Because we are creating via our thoughts and actions more Warlike conditions, through our own prejudices and Greed..
    Excellent poem Sue, you captured the true essence of Rememberance day.
    The sad part about Rememberance day is that it commemorates a cycle of war.
    We tend to not learn from the past, and as each year passes, we find we have new monuments and more reasons to remember.
    As you are aware Sue greed,fear and ignorance is what fuels wars.
    Kindness, compassion and sharing is the antidote to greed.
    In fear of our fellow man we build armaments causing fear in other.
    The only ones bennifiting are those that invest in the. production of weapons.
    Ignorance is thinking you are going to save the world by force.
    If only there could be more caring Dreemwalkers remembering the futility of war.
    Beautiful but heart~rending sentiments, passionately expressed Sue! ❤ I have always been horrified that young men (and now women) could be sent to their deaths so callously and calculatingly. When I first heard the terms 'acceptable losses' and 'collateral damage' they made me sick. That the loss of even one life ~ military or civilian, man, woman, child or animal ~ could be termed 'acceptable' is unbelievable. Devastation of the land ~ be it town or country ~ by methods of war is mindless vandalism, without excuse. And the money spent and brain power exerted in the development of ever more deadly weaponry is obscene ~ just think what good use those funds and talents could be channelled towards. We should remember all the victims of senseless warfare, including those living with the after~effects, with sadness and deep shame, rather than patriotic jingo~ism ~ which only serves to glorify and perpetuate the myth. Thankyou for your eloquent call for a stop to it all ~ and for Universal Peace! ❤
    Yes, I’ve long been conflicted (what a word!) over celebrations of military accomplishments of any sort. Mostly because I know how our own country, for example, aggressively recruits young men before they even have the capacity to understand what they are undertaking (fmi: http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=124119468).
    I appreciate your words here which encompass both sides of my own dilemma (how to advocate for peaceful solutions while supporting those who have chosen to serve in the military). We live in a complex, changing world, my friend. And it’s not getting any less strange over this side of the pond. Love! ❤
      Yes my thoughts are with you over at your side of the Pond Bela.. And I have long understood how young minds are influenced and your thoughtful link is a prime example of how teenagers are so easily swayed in making rash decisions. Which is why I can see how young minds are easily radicalised..
      I will go one step further at the use of TV.. and how we are doped up on its own invisible flickers and the clever way in which it hooks the population into its hype to get it to buy and follow trends..
      Which is another reason why cell-phones/mobiles are so addictive.. And yes even the web.. and my blog can be addictive too.. Which is why I often take measures to break away from it for periods of time, and to limit myself to certain amount of hours on it.
      All of these affect our brain waves and patterns of thinking.. We often join the herd in our ways of thinking because we want not to appear alien and alone within our thinking.. So many join into things wanting to feel accepted .. To voice our opinions that differ from the norm invites ridicule and we are then subjected to being called weird.. LOL goodness knows I have in the past been given this label.. LOL.. And one of my previous women bosses went out of her way to make me feel like an alien as she didn’t understand my spiritual gifts.. 😉
      Some times I think we need to be shaken and stirred a little to wake us up.. And this has most definitely shaken the world up a little.. The UK has done nothing but talk about your side of the Pond .. And again, it is a ‘Tool’ being used to offer up an opinion..
      Waking up is difficult.. It means we have to observe and at times learn detachment.. Because all things are in transit.. Everything is in constant motion of change..
      To change the systems ( which is what we are seeing both side of the pond) Chaos happens.. It shakes the systems up.. And it may take many years yet to sort it all into shape..
      But that is the thing with Evolution.. And Eternity.. It has all the time in the world..
      And even the planet and global warming.. It has warmed up and frozen solid many times over.. Yes we are helping accelerate it.. but Nature will evolve over time to her new BEing.. We are now facing certain choices.. Its up to us which path we take..
      I hope we choose Harmony and Peace.. ❤ xxx
        Sue, thanks once again for your kind and thoughtful comments. Agreed on the hypnotic pull of tv (we haven’t had tv hookup for 10 yrs plus), internet, cellphones … anything, really can become an addiction if one is not mindful, but these things are compelling. We ‘must’ know what others are doing, take the pulse of the tribe. And you are correct in that nature’s cycles have continued seemingly forever and will go on again … and again. Just sorry humans feel the need to accelerate changes through willful negligence and refusal to accept their part. But on with the day! Farmers markets and who knows what follows. Peace, love, contentment to you, dear. Hearts and flowers :)))) xoxoxo
    Your poem is a beautiful moving tribute. Wars take so many unnecessary lives and cause many tears. Let’s all take up your wise words and live in harmony and peace Bless you xx
    Such a beautiful poem of remembrance, Sue. I am so grateful for the veterans who have given so much so that we can enjoy freedom xx
    Perfect … you leave nothing to add … simply beautiful ( what a disaster war is, being of Italian descendants logically … I am not the less proud of my Grandfather who fought for his country and never came back … leaving my Grandmother with 8 children and no income for a whole 7 long years before he was announced MIA. I was named after him.
      I am sorry to hear that Luigi.. So many died needlessly .. My grandfather was wounded.. My other grandfather worked all his life down the coal mines from age 14.. He was exempt for the war as coal was needed.. But he and his wife took in refugees from London.. My mother and her siblings grew up with them as her brothers and sisters.. They went back home to their parents after the war.. Such a shocking time for many.. And still War is raging and atrocities are happening to innocent families. my heart goes out in prayer often.
    A touching tribute. We can remember and respect the past and, I think, we should do this often because the past is the foundation of the present… 🙂
Each of us, carries within us the capacity to change the world in small ways for better or worse. Everything we do and think affects the people in our lives, and their reactions in turn affect others As the effect of a seemingly insignificant word passes from person to person, its impact grows and can become a source of great joy, inspiration, anxiety, or pain. Your thoughts and actions are like stones dropped into still waters, causing ripples to spread and expand as they move outward.. I hope that I can send a few ripples out via the web of life, as we each of us weave the threads together... Welcome to my Sanctuary of Peace and Love... May we each spread our Lights around our World....Sue Dreamwalker
