The Isle of Mull~Enjoy

After our 45-minute crossing from Oban we re-boarded our bus which came over on the Ferry with us to make our way across the Island. Our driver set the ambiance by playing The Mull Of Kintyre made famous by Paul  McCartney .

Please click onto the gallery pictures this will take you to the enlarged versions with narrative below

We set off to cross the Isle of Mull for we had a date with another ferry to take us to the Isle of Iona.

Although the island coastline covers some 300 miles there are less than 3,000 people living on Mull, with the island’s capital town of Tobermory accounting for nearly 1,000 of those.

The capital is Tobermory, unfortunately our trip did not include this picturesque colourful place which is featured on the Children’s BBC.. in the fictitious Preschool TV programme of Balamory  A link of Tobermory can be found here with its colourful cottages in another short video.

We were curious about the schooling on the Isle of Mull. Our Driver guide told us that the Children go to school on the Island until they are 11 yrs old.. After that they have to travel to the mainland on Scotland. He said it is nothing for a child to be travelling 2 hours before starting school and 2 hours back.  Which made my own 5 mile journey from our small village when I was small seem nothing at all.

This was the local Bus which traveled from the ferry port throughout the island and back. We were on our own bus following it for a short while until it took a different route

The star attractions with many who visit are the with Golden and White Tailed Eagles, dolphins and basking sharks, deer, otters and puffins among other bird wild life. We were hoping perhaps of a sighting of a Dolphin on our crossing, (I think they had all swam out to Ireland!) Big smiles Bela.   But we did spot a sea otter swimming close to the shore line among the sea weed before it dived out of view. Too quick for me and my camera. But it was a joy none the less.

These views just kept getting better and better as we travelled the length of Mull

I wish I had had more time to explore the Isle of Mull, but its memory will remain embedded deep within my heart

I hope you enjoyed the Isle of Mull as much as  I did.

Enjoy your Weekend

Sue – lovely and so calming… like all the islands. I haven’t been to Mull, but would love to venture there to appreciate the natural beauty (without the need to be dramatic) and the wildlife ( taking its time mostly out of site).just to breathe in this full sea air would make it worthwhile❣️
Great share Sue! Thank you xo

Lovely photos Sue that take me back to many happy hours spent on the Island of Sanday in the Orkney Islands, sadly the family who used to run the post office and telephone exchange have all left now, but we hope to visit again in the not too distant future. Many thanks for the reminder! Love, David

I’m having an ongoing issue with Akismet for the past three days, and they don’t seem to be able to fix it. I’ve delayed posting because of this, but many thanks for your continued interest dear Sue! Hope you find this in the spam. H ❤

Ah, I see it’s here. This is the issue: original comments of mine are getting trapped by Akismet, but ones of my own linked to them – assuming they’ve been retrieved – will then appear. It’s very odd, and the first time I’ve ever has such an issue.

Have you informed them of your problem Hariod? When I was spammed the last time and imformed Akismet, They said if I could let others know I maybe in their spam boxes the more who freed me the more Akismet would recognise I wasn’t spam.. I think I get spammed a lot because I make lots of comments on one blog in my catch ups.. Any how they will get back to you to fill out a form on whose blogs you think you may have been spammed upon.. This post the end link is where you need to lodge you complaint.. Don’t end up going around the houses like I did in the beginning LOL 🙂

Thankyou so much dear Sue! I will read that link directly. Yes, I am communicating with Akismet and although they say they have changed their settings, I am still being sent to spam. That is interesting that if blogs ‘un-spam’ comments, then Akismet tend to regard the commenter as safe. My problem is that I very often leave comments without checking that they actually appear – I just assume they will, which seems reasonable, after all. So, I really have no idea how many of my comments have been going to spam, and for how long. Before I discovered what was happening I was thinking my notifications area had gone rather quiet! *laughs* Off to read your link! H ❤

Yes I am sure the harsh winters tell another tale of these Islands, but I was most content soaking in those views and breathing in the crisp air as we travelled. Something that I know will stay with me for a while to come. 🙂

Each of us, carries within us the capacity to change the world in small ways for better or worse. Everything we do and think affects the people in our lives, and their reactions in turn affect others As the effect of a seemingly insignificant word passes from person to person, its impact grows and can become a source of great joy, inspiration, anxiety, or pain. Your thoughts and actions are like stones dropped into still waters, causing ripples to spread and expand as they move outward.. I hope that I can send a few ripples out via the web of life, as we each of us weave the threads together... Welcome to my Sanctuary of Peace and Love...
