What Went Wrong?

I was looking for something to share with you over the weekend and had a post drafted on my new computer of 2 months when the unthinkable happened. After it updated I turned it off. And when I switched it back on it said It needed Recovery the whole system seems to have gone kaput..

So its back in the shop!.. Thankfully my old one that runs on steam is still working and so I looked around my archive and this title caught my eye..

What Went Wrong?..

But the interesting thing is, unlike last time when my computer lost everything.. I feel so detached and not bothered one little bit for the losses..
Why? Well, we only have to look around the world to see what REAL loss is…
Those caught in wars, those loosing loved ones, and the terrible earthquake in Italy where the whole town of AMATRICE which was completely destroyed.. Who are all held within my prayers

This put things into perspective.

A computer is only a Thing after all..

Love and Blessings may we count each and everyone!
Love Sue ❤

Dreamwalker's Sanctuary

I thought I would share this quote with my poem.

A good reminder to myself also..

What went Wrong?

What’s wrong with the World Today?

Can you answer me, Can we really say?

What have we lost that each strive to find

Each has the answer’s within their own minds

~

Society stressed as they bulge with popping pills

Apportioning blame for all of their ills

Working hard they say for so little gain

Accumulating debts as the plastic card reigns

~

Do they never stop to look in the Mirror?

I wonder if anyone stops to consider

What happened that we appear not to care?

Why, that to Love one another has become so rare

~

What went wrong as we strove for so much?

I ponder and wonder did we lack a mother’s touch

The Media shows a surface of a greedy society

And yet beneath…

Well said DW ! Great poem. And yes, you are so right about the loss of a computer. So trivial in the larger scheme of things. Sadly, they worked brilliantly as the addictive, distracting tools they created them to be. Now people no longer know how to write a complete sentence, communicate via a meaningful conversation, or how to spend much needed time in nature. Very sad indeed. The longer I stay away from mine the less I want to do with it. Who knows how long I will keep blogging but I can see now a great deal of life passes by unnoticed and unlived when one stays connected to the Internet 24/7….Enjoy life DW and have a splendid weekend…Much love…VK

You have such beautiful thoughts, Sue. Yes, we all are so confined within ourselves, concerned about our small losses which are, in fact, negligible compared to the loss the world is suffering from every natural disaster.

Mother Nature doesn’t take revenge, she just finishes herself down and that seals the fate of humankind.

My prayers for those earthquake victims. Just after the Italy earthquake, here in Kolkata, India, we felt slight tremor for 5/6 seconds! Panic was everywhere and those few seconds reminded me how helpless we feel, when nature strikes.

My thoughts are with you Maniparna and all who experience such temors.. Here in the UK a few years ago we felt one which was only slight.. But it does shake you I agree..
And I love your thoughts also..”Mother Nature doesn’t take revenge, she just finishes herself down and that seals the fate of humankind. “.. So true.. Nature is evolving and moving all the time.. We who build our homes across these fault lines and next to rivers etc when she floods are the ones who get in the way of Natures movement.. They would not be such disasters had we not put ourselves there..

Many thanks again dear Maniparna.. Love and Healing thoughts your way xxx

Lovely poem. I too rely heavily on my computer but it’s a matter of perspective. There is a lot of changing and shifting going on in the world to bring us back to our sense of what real value is. My daughter has a phrase that I repeat often. “Everything is as it should be” It’s my perception of things that needs to be addressed. Have a lovely wonderfilled weekend, Sue. Hugs and hope for the computers complete recovery.

“Lack a mother’s touch…” I, too, have wondered if the rampant greed in our world comes from the failure of family love. And yet, many people who were abused as children are loving people… Maybe forgiveness is the test of humanity. Thank you for always bringing us back to what is important, Sue.

Good luck with computer. Possibly helpful… free apps I think work well: AVAST anti-virus and CCleaner (safe downloads from CNET.com).

Yes JoAnn I know what you mean my friend. Sometimes I think my own generation who had hardly anything new when we grew up within often large families. We would work had and save before purchasing things. And we would do without until we had saved up..
Today’s generation wants everything Now and my generation in part has some responsibility for this too.. For as we went without, we wanted our children to have what we could afford.. This didn’t mean going into debt like today’s young folk. Today Credit card companies and banks throw loans out, to get them hooked into the Debt game. And Once hooked its very difficult for them to get off this treadmill.
People are searching for something, knowing there has to be more to life, They want distraction from their real lives or work and toil or sometimes from pure boredom. Be it through gadgets addictions or drug misuse.
Love is a key factor in what is missing.. And a key factor to remind them right now how to hold compassion is through what we are seeing happening in the world right now.
We are shifting our vibration but as we are all so caught up within it we do not see these changes for we are the Change.. Again you touched upon another great key.. That of forgiveness, Letting GO! Of Anger, hatred, revenge, jealousies, all are prominent in our learning and lessons.. Learning to Co-operate, share, UNITE, and get along as ONE in Harmony in Unity.
Thank you JoAnn for those wonderful thoughts.. and for the great advice about the AVAST anti-virus and CCleaner (safe downloads from CNET.com) I will most definitely look that up and read up on it.. Thank you and Love and Blessings Sue xx

Yes Barbara as I mentioned to another commenter here, I was amazed at my lack of response.. I did kind of shrug my shoulders as I said oh well here we go again.. A lesson to repeat perhaps what I didn’t do before.. As I hung onto the possession of a thing.. Now I am seeing that lesson again in another light and have let it go, knowing as we put things into perspective it is not important in the scheme of things in this life.. Thank you Barbara… May we all learn these lessons well, as we Let GO and learn once again to all connect to the important stuff .. That of our Hearts and Unconditional Love..

I once lost 17,500 words of a childrens’ novel that I was seriously struggling with Sue ~ and I never managed to recover them. People kept giving me sympathy and advice but I felt as though a weight had been lifted from my shoulders and I could get on with more absorbing projects. And you are so right, with all that’s going on in the World ~ natural and man~made crises ~ how dare I moan? I do think that many people have been caught in a trap of wanting ‘more’, not knowing what it is they are seeking and thinking that they can buy a solution to that yearning, often with credit. But I am ever~hopeful that this discontent will work itself out and that we all begin to reach out to those in genuine need. 🙂

I don’t know who first said, “Shit happens,” but it’s a great summary of how life unfolds. We have control only in our illusions. It is a bit over the top to limit ourselves to one tiny pockmark on the planet. For if there’s one positive thing about these fallible computers is the web – we really have no excuse to endlessly lament our lives. We have only to reach out to news sources that are not distorted by sensationalism to discover we are, by and large, pretty darned lucky most of the time. Perspective is everything. Aloha, dear one ❤

Hi dear Debby, yes it is but a blip and still firing up the old steam to get here.. Although this is the first time its been switched on all week as I have had a little girl to keep me busy some days, so my days have been full of princess’s and magical stories with dress ups and picnics.. I thought there may well be some heavenly body of planets in the mix again.. Why am I not surprised.. And Yes the tech Gods seem to be testing, though if they thought to cause me stress, this time around I was so calm it even amazed me.. 🙂 Even the small fortune I spent on softwear made no impact either.. So I hope I passed the test LOL.. because I do not wish to keep repeating it :-D.. And yes its nothing at all compared with the woes in the world .. So I am very blessed.. ❤

Wow Sue! A Windows update created the havoc? Now I forget, is your new pc on Windows 10? Because if so, that wouldn’t surprise me. 😦 But so glad you’re getting better at it, practice makes perfect, lol 🙂 xo

Hi Debby, yes its a Windows 10 update.. It had updated to the Anniversary Package.. It didnt give you the option either to accept or decline these updates.. And you do not know what it’s now doing with updates not like on my Vista when it always asked and you saw what the updates were for.. That is annoying!.. As are many of the Apps that come with it.. 🙂 But yes still smiling, and taking one day at a time.. as I get to grips with it all again. I have hardly been anywhere visiting on WP, just answering comments .. But its raining this afternoon.. So here I am again 🙂 xxx

It’s so annoying that Microsoft takes such liberties with our computers. Now you’ve scared me with this new anniversary update. I’m going to change my update settings to alert me of this. Did you know you can go to your update settings and choose how you’d like your updates? You can change from automatic to manual. That’s what I’m going to do on my windows 10 computer now. You just have to make sure you check your update regularly, make sure you don’t see that weird update, tick the ones you want to update and install. 🙂 xo

Thank you dear Debby I will go into my settings now and have a look see.. The darn thing did an update or two this morning again.. I had the Windows is configuring sign on for over an hour as it did its thing with do not switch off your computer while in progress.. I thought it was another crash in progress for sure.. I didn’t stess though.. I got on my guitar instead while waiting.. After an hour of seeing those the little circle rise and fall it finally restarted.. I had none of this problems with my old PC .. I will go look now xx

This poem reminds me of a saying ‘growth and decay go hand in hand.’ While we exult at the vaulting growth of world around us in almost all fields, erosion and exploitation of the finer values of life have quietly surrendered themselves. Yes, we may be having the answers in our minds but who bothers to listen to them? It is a paradoxical world and we are drifting away from each other.
Thanks for profoundly beautiful thoughts Sue. Love and hugs.

Yes one step forward and two steps backwards as the saying often goes.. But really in the scheme of things its really nothing is it when we see the plight of human suffering as we are witnessing right now world wide.. Thank you dear Balroop for reading my poem.. We who pen our thoughts keep on trying to bring unity via what resonates deep within our minds.. Living in our world of duality I agree both growth and decay go hand in hand.. I hope we do our part in adding to its growth.. So as to keep the balance from tipping the scales.. xxx Love and thank you Balroop Your own profound thoughts are so welcome xx ❤ Love Sue

Hi, I’m new here, but I really liked your post 🙂
Sorry that your PC’s giving you trouble. I hope it’ll be sorted out soon. And I agree with you, real problems are the ones that people stuck in dangerous and inhumane situations fail. Your post helped me also realise this and now I’m feeling better about my current problems too.
I’m glad I stumbled upon your blog. Looking forward to reading more posts by you 🙂

I completely agree with you 🙂
I remembered a quote when i read this “Love people, not things; use things, not people” . its really good , isn’t it?? 😀

I would like to share a story of mine as well.. two years back while I was travelling in bus someone stole my mobile! When i realized my mobile wasn’t in my pocket , i was not sure whether it was stolen or did i drop it! But as i searched for it for sometime that day, i realized i was not worried that i lost it and it was just a thing i lost. My thought was on the case that had as it was given to me by one of my cousins!

I did not use mobile for three four days and i really felt good without a mobile in hand. I felt i had lot of time in hand!! But i had to get one later on the 5th day due to pressure from family and office as they are not able to reach me.

Same as you I felt ‘the mobile is only a Thing after all..’ 🙂

Came to wordpress after a long time.. Really liked the post.. Thank you
Hope you are doing good… Take care, keep smiling 🙂

Thank you Aneesh for sharing that story.. Yes we often place too much on Things rather than people.. And not having that device/connection can indeed be liberating and can give the sense of freedom from being tied to gadgets often at the beck and call of others..
Good to see you again my friend I hope to catch up too in the very near future.. xxx Oh and I am smiling for sure 😀

Hi Sue, that is a great post in more ways than one, we lose things in life and somehow life goes on, yet in today’s modern world, the loss of the computer can be seen as a catastrophe, seeing as how it has become the great means of communication, but still life goes on and Mankind finds a way around it.
We lose our letterbox and the Postie can’t deliver, we find another way.
    Cheers.

This is so very deep and true ~ perspective can take what seems like a calamity and turn it into something like you’ve done here. Wishing you the very best, and from the tone and spirit of your words you’ve got the perspective bit down right. Take care and enjoy the weekend.

I had my computer get blown up (fried) during a power outage, even though I had a surge protector on it, the good news is that even though it was completely broken, a computer store was able to retrieve all of my data and put it on an external hard-drive so that when my new computer arrived, I just transferred everything into it from the external hard-drive. And it didn’t cost anything for the service, it came as a complimentary gift for buying the external hard-drive, idk, maybe that can work for you as well. ❤️

Bless you Genie.. How good of that store to do that for you.. I backed up everything to an external hard drive luckily with my old PC.. And this one I was also backing up externally too.. So I have now retrieved most things I want back on my PC..
Thank you Genie.. Now I know why I saw the re-follow link from you.. 🙂 I wish your new PC well.. And will be around to catch hopefully soon.. xx ❤ Hugs your way xx And Thank you!

I chose to leave my comment here even though I did click to read the original. Oh, Sue, how eloquently you express the conditions of our world today. So many have lost the connection to both Mother and to one another. The continual outcry from Mother as She unleashes powerful violence escalates which only reflects the violence of mankind. When will man understand that ALL is connected and that every act, every thought, every ill will, is felt and experienced by Mother and all Living Beings? Every time I go for a hike when I see a newly downed tree, my Heart skips a beat and I feel sad, sending that tree Love on its continued Journey. I touch the trees thanking them for their Presence. I talk to the Forest all the time and send It Gratitude for healing me. I see the spiraling madness of this world and then I see incidences of Kindness where those who “get it” are living the Love. May all of us who work together for the Good, may that Good catch on Fire to bring a massive Movement of Love across the globe. Beautiful beautiful post, dear friend!! Your thoughts are Divine. Much Love, ❤

Hi Amy thank you my friend for that wonderful heartfelt comment.. Yes I too get so sad when I see trees cut down in their prime for no reason.. A few months back our local council authority had a spree of cutting down prime trees along the roadsides.. I couldn’t believe the destruction they caused.
Yes each thought and action goes out in vibration and yes our Earth Mother is All feeling.. I even speak to the weeds as I pick them and give thanks to my Dahlias as I cut them for cut flowers..
We who are in tune with Nature see how being in gratitude and sending love is connecting with our Mother.. There are many who work for the good Amy.. We do not get to hear about them.. We only get to learn of the Bad.. So take heart.. There is a great deal of LOVE across the world.. May we always shine our Lights around the globe for Unity and Peace..
Love to you my precious friend ❤ xxx

You are right on the money, Sue! I can’t tell you how many times I am able to shift from self pity to gratitude when I think of someone (and there is ALWAYS someone) who is much worse off than I. Hope your computer woes are fixed…I also have an oldie but goodie…and have been holding off on purchasing a new one 😉 💛

Hold off as long as you can.. but do do an external back up.. These new laptops have no harddrive back ups, clever as they come programmed wanting you to perchase space with the maker of the PC.. And thank you so far shussssh saying this very quietly.. all seems well at the moment.. Shusssh! 🙂

So true! We don’t realize what we don’t need until it’s gone. When I was finally forced to buy a new computer (looooooong story), I thought I’d have to transfer everything from my old one, either by direct transfer or by using an external hard drive. Not so! I’m simply transferring a few things here and there using a thumb drive. I’m amazed at the amount of “stuff” I don’t need. Thoreau was right: “Simplify!” Wonderful post, Sue 🙂

Such a positive perspective! Instead of whining about what went wrong, the sooner we accept it and focus on what to do next, better it is for us. Thanks for sharing the wonderful poem.

Each of us, carries within us the capacity to change the world in small ways for better or worse. Everything we do and think affects the people in our lives, and their reactions in turn affect others As the effect of a seemingly insignificant word passes from person to person, its impact grows and can become a source of great joy, inspiration, anxiety, or pain. Your thoughts and actions are like stones dropped into still waters, causing ripples to spread and expand as they move outward.. I hope that I can send a few ripples out via the web of life, as we each of us weave the threads together... Welcome to my Sanctuary of Peace and Love... May we each spread our Lights around our World....Sue Dreamwalker
