Switch Off! And Tune into Self!

I’m not hooked into T.V. soaps with Drama’s surreal

And I try to detach from the Media’s Squeal

I’m not attached at the hip to my Mobile Device

Like some who walk, looking up once or twice

Tranquil Corner of my garden

Tranquil Corner of my garden

I know too well all the pain some go through

And I’ve added my tears like the rest of you

I’m not helping the world if I wallow in gloom

So instead I create to help my world bloom

Seeds

Seeds and allotment plan

I plant and I sow and reap what I give

Sharing and caring is how we should live

If we see all the horrors of violence and greed

Maybe it’s because our attention is focused on these

Planted with Love

Planted with Love

If we planted more Kindness instead of mistrust

And put people first before the possessions we lust

Appreciate the NOW, and Let go of FEAR

Stop judging each other, and hold ALL life dear

Preparing the greenhouse ready for planting

Preparing the greenhouse ready for planting

Instead we’re conditioned by the Ads and the Apps

To purchase- Things- as in debt more collapse

A virtual world, we are hooked and controlled

Another statistic, we’re boxed in as we scroll

Spring Bulbs opening to the Sun

Spring Bulbs opening to the Sun

So if I go missing from time to time

It’s because I’m enjoying this life of mine

So go on now, look up, and switch off your Device

And Embrace your loved ones and start living-Life!

    Hi Sue,

I want to first say that I adore your poem and lovely garden. Bravo! Secondly, I want to share a synchronicity. I have on the Wayne Dyer retrospective on TV in the background. I could not help but notice a picture of Wayne looking at me in your “Related” section at this post’s end.

I really like your philosophy of beautifying and growing your world as a response to the challenges of our times.

    thanks for all you are.

What a lovely poem, Sue! It has such a happy feel.. I seem to be attached to this laptop trying to catch up on blogs I want to read and photos to prepare. As for the television, there is nothing there. Watch “the age of Adeline” again with a guest last night for the third time. My son bought the movie and we are getting his money’s worth from it. My cell is attached to my hip, in case I fall and break one. 🙂 I don’t use it but it makes my kids happy that it’s with me where ever I go. My luck, I’d land on it and brake it and me. 🙂 We will get a break in the rain on Thurs and Fri so I can go out and start cleaning up the garden. I miss the sun. Have a wonderfilled weekend and enjoy your garden.

I feel personally that so long as we can keep the two in healthy balance the real world and the virtual world cab greatly complement and enhance one another. It all depends on personality and personal preference of course and if the virtual world is becoming problematic to an individual then shutting it down and reconnecting with the real world is probably very wise. But in general I think that would be unnecessary as the two can easily be made to work hand in hand 🙂 Enjoy your tech – free time and have a beautiful weekend 🙂

What you say in your poem, dear Sue, makes a lot of sense, especially these words:

‘Sharing and caring is how we should live’!

I think if more people would be able to live up to this we would have a more peaceful world.

I have to tell people this all the time. I’m also not a TV watcher, a phone person (although I do have an android phone) and I don’t join social media. Just this afternoon I found a baby snake skin outside and had the biggest thrill of my day just admiring it.

Sue this a superb post, pointing out the down side of the TV.
There are few educational and uplifting programs, as with a good deal of our modern technology, it is misused wasting a wonderful opportunity.
There are beautiful quotable lines in your poem.
‘If we planted more kindness instead of mistrust and put people before possessions and lust.’ Then the realisation ‘We are not helping the world
if we wallow in gloom. So instead we create to help the world bloom.’
All fitting in perfectly with your garden photos.
This poem is going ‘straight to the pool room’ Sue 🙂 _/\_

Soring is a hard time to finish indoor projects I have also found out. I switch autotmatically to crochet in spring-its lighter and feels like it has its place in spring-no idea why. Did you post your pastel drawing? I don’t seem to be getting updates even though I am following you. I’ll have a look.

Dear Sue…long time no c u, long time away from word press, but here I am again and reading your poem, a sunshine for the soul your words and the pictures. I don’t own a mobile, the laptop in hiding on the closet, together with the tablet, I forgot how to used them, I don’t have a clue about apps, I know people use them on mobiles…I use only this pc to keep in touch with my overseas family and few friends…Reading ( I rediscover the Spanish books, brings tons of them with me from Chile) missing the open sky in the Patagonia and much more, but having a great time with the grandchildren here, enjoy beautiful Mildura and the family…Love and Hugs XX

      Dear dear Ana..
How Wonderful it is to have you visit and comment.. I am always asking Ian to pass along my love and good wishes.. It must have been so good to go home for a while and to see your Grandchildren there and to attend a wedding..
I have so enjoyed all the photo’s Ian has shared on his blog.. and yes.. Ian’s side of the family having all those Grand-babies so close to each other.. I bet there is never a dull moment with their families around your both..
Hope you are keeping in good health these days now.. And it must be lovely to read a book in your own language.. Something we take for granted..
So pleased to see you today.. Love Sue ❤ xxxx

Each of us, carries within us the capacity to change the world in small ways for better or worse. Everything we do and think affects the people in our lives, and their reactions in turn affect others As the effect of a seemingly insignificant word passes from person to person, its impact grows and can become a source of great joy, inspiration, anxiety, or pain. Your thoughts and actions are like stones dropped into still waters, causing ripples to spread and expand as they move outward.. I hope that I can send a few ripples out via the web of life, as we each of us weave the threads together... Welcome to my Sanctuary of Peace and Love... May we each spread our Lights around our World....Sue Dreamwalker
