In Love and Gratitude

Love Love LOVE

“As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them.

[Thanksgiving Day Proclamation, 1963]
John F. Kennedy

Many of my blogging friends in the USA are celebrating Thanksgiving at this time of year.

While only a few weeks ago other friends of Mine across the world were celebrating  Diwali,  the festival of Light, “Diwali is one of the largest and brightest festivals in India. The festival spiritually signifies the victory of light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance, good over evil, and hope over despair”

We all of us Have much to be grateful for in our lives, and Mary over at Walking My Path really captured the meaning of Gratitude and  all the things to be grateful for in our lives in her Post  Giving Thanks  I hope you go and read..

May we all of us remember the many things we should be grateful for in our lives, as we also remember those who are not so fortunate as ourselves.

May we start to open our Hearts to the gifts we already have.

And May we join our Hearts as ONE

As we send LOVE and PEACE out into the world..

In love and Gratitude

And Happy Thanksgiving to all..

Sue

I am so so pleased you enjoyed the Post Mary.. It was all thanks to you.. I had seen the odd greeting of thanksgiving around, But your post struck a huge cord in my heart.. So so many things to be grateful for in our lives, and I remembered I had watched this video before.. I then looked for a quote about thanksgiving, and found J.F. Kennedy’s and linked everything together.. SO it is you I am Grateful for.. I so so enjoyed your post..

Great message Sue as we move into Thanksgiving and the holiday season – being thankful for what we have is made even more important when we think of those less fortunate and the gifts we’ve been given and the gifts we can give. Take care.

Yes, I agree Randall, when we look around, and as you so often show us through the eye of your Lens there is so much beauty, and so many things each of us should be grateful for… All too often we are quick to bemoan our lot in life, Yet when we really Look at what we have, and what can make of it.. There are Gifts to be found everywhere.. . Thank you so much for Have a wonderful Thanksgiving, where ever in the world it is you are over the holidays.. Sue 🙂

I wouldn’t have minded so much her words, but I edited photo’s of shooting as well she left 5 unsavoury images … You can find my responses upon it as I allowed her reply to me.. But not her main content with images.. No wonder there is conflict in the world.. 😦 sadly.. I didn’t let her energy get to me.. I would have at one time… But I was slightly amused at how she reacted.. xx 🙂

    Lovely and insipring message.

I was disturbed, though, at the footage from Occupied Palestine, it had the opposite effect on me, “everyone matters” is not lived nor believed in by the Zionist occupiers, I did some research and discovered that “Eco Israel” is using this film to peddle trips to Israel with:

The link you presented Genie the video was posted on the Eco Israel site 3 yrs ago, and I could see no evidence on that page of it selling trips.. But I did take a look at the whole site, and saw young people making a living and enjoying nature in a natural way using the land and promoting an eco lifestyle.. Yes ‘Everyone Matters’ to me.. Everyone.. I see people not from the countries or boarders or the labels they are given, I see people from the values they bring into this life.. I see people like your Good self dear Genie, who are trying to reach out showing Peace and awareness, with love in poetry and images..

I chose the video of the film in my post, because it is asking people to SEE the world and Beauty around them, Yes their is ugliness, heartache and pain too.. We live in a world whereby we can not experience one without the other.. And it has all of it got out of balance as Control, Greed, and Desires have overtaken Humankind..
I count my blessings daily for the blessings within my life and my geographic birth .. And we should never forget or ignore the conflict that is going on in the world, But I refuse to be drawn into taking sides for then am I not then part of the conflict? and I do not mean to offend you in saying this…

So I apologise dear Genie if my post in anyway offended you, this is why we need so much more Love to be poured into the world to help heal the wounds of old that have scarred so deep.. We all of us need to view Life from another’s perspective at times.. And I take your views into account .. And my heart is with you.. ❤ Love and Blessings Sue ❤

Dearest Sue, I did not take offence to your post, I was offended by the footage of Occupied Palestine within the video, the message is great, the footage is not on alignment with the message, as I see it.

Supporting the cause of a Free Palestine, is not taking sides, remember, Israel was not created legitimately, because it was done in the UN General Assembly (whose resolutions are Not Binding), it’s only in the UN Security Council, that resolutions are binding.
Article 181 of the General Assembly did not go to the UN Security Council for a vote, thus, Israel was not created legitimately, the zionists acted upon Resolution 181 (General Assembly) and created a faux entity, via Ethnic Cleansing and Genocide. This has been well documented by historians such as Ilan Pappe (Israeli born too, but since he wrote his book, has given up his Israeli citizenship, because he could no longer support a regime that was created by the very same tactics that Nazis used against the Jews and other people they hated) in his book: The Ethnic Cleansing of Palestine.

Kindly watch this heartbreaking video, my dear friend Nahida, (an Exiled Palestinian), has a poem there that the person who made the video added within the video.

Then I ask you: does Nahida not have the right to demand that her Homeland be Returned to her People? ..The Palestinians.

( I have deleted the video Genie as It was not appropriate upon this post Sue Dreamwalker )

And how is this taking sides in the conflict?

          Dearest Genie ,
I am pleased that got cleared up, and like I said my friend, my heart is with you, And there are so many wrongs in this world.. This is one of them..
I watched the video you posted in full.. And it was very heartbreaking with very disturbing images of war and injuries and the heartbreak and trauma caused to families, especially the children killed and maimed being shown..
This is happening right now all around the globe .. In all quarters of the world, and yes my heart breaks also..
But I have to inform you I have removed the video from your comment.. As I did on another post from another passionate lady Silvia who left 5 images of things including people being shot along with an unsavoury comment about Mother Teresa Which I edited out ..on my tribute to Paris post,’ Sending thoughts and prayers’ post.. As this post is about gratitude and Love I hope you understand…I am forever grateful to be fortunate in living where I do..

It is not about taking sides.. It is about holding love in our hearts… Maybe my saying
“But I refuse to be drawn into taking sides for then am I not then part of the conflict?” When I should have said.. We need to send love into All situations, for if I take sides, am I then not sending anger or judgement out to the other quarter.. What ever I say is not going to change your own strong conviction and rightly so, for you are caught up within all of it.. Where as I know nothing, so could not possibly have your own perspective on the conflict and injustices there..

All I can do is hold my own centre, and channel my thoughts towards Peace for ALL…
In love and Gratitude Genie.. Sue ❤

There is one thing that I would like to add about the situation in Palestine, since this is what we are discussing in the my reaction to the video footage of Occupied Palestne in the video you posted, is this: Silence Is Complicity.

Oh I have been far from silent dear Genie… my past postings are evident..about the various conflicts in the world.. But their are various ways of fighting this dark battle, and I choose to use Love and compassion, to bring awareness, as do you my friend.. I choose not to add to the carnage of this world by showing more media as in your video containing violence and oppression.. And deep down I know you agree, for if we continue our anger and hatred, it only adds more of that vibration into the already unbalanced world.. My intent here, as within your own very often subtle writings and poems is to bring such awareness that we all of us have forgotten the basics within our Human existence… We have forgotten how to care, and Love…. For Greed, control, and desires have overtaken.. And I love you for Caring Genie.. our passions are the same I assure you… But an eye for an eye makes the whole world blind..
Sending Love and Blessings your way because I value your friendship, for we are both of us wanting Justice to prevail.. ❤ Sue

I do not support violence, only peaceful solutions to conflict.

However, having said that, I do believe that, when a people are attacked, ethnically cleansed, genocided, bombed, etc., as has happened in Gaza by the Zionist regime, that the people do have a right, as everyone does to: Self Defence.

And since War Crimes are illegal, they should be treated as such and be dealt with that way, as Judge Goldstone has recommended in his report on the war in Gaza, to the UN.
The Nazis were found guilty of war crimes and there were consequences, the Zionists are guilty of War Crimes, as found by not only the Honourable Judge Goldstone (who is Jewish), as well, by the World Court, due to this, there are many countries that quite a lot of the Israei politicians and army personnel, do not travel to, for they would be arrested for War Crimes, there are orders to arrest them in many countries that comply with the World Court’s warrants for arrest concerning War Crimes.

I watch Press TV daily, and keep myself informed about the real news, not placement advertising and celebrity faux news, and there is graphic footage in the real news, RT News, from Russia is very good as well, while it is disturbing to see the carnage, it is also eye opening to see how most of the world suffers while others live in luxury, and even having a home, food and potable water is luxury, for billions do not have these basic necessities of life.

              .

I saw a moving video this morning, the message is also: everyone matters:

“This is for Paris, and Beirut, and Kenya, and Charleston, and so many others; for countless innocent people devastated by terrorism- which is just a word for organized hatred and inhumanity. We have to keep seeing the world in shades of rose- we have to keep hoping for peace and working for change and believing that with our art, our love, our knowledge, and most of all, our empathy and understanding for our fellow human beings, we can make a difference.”

We all have innate traits to see and feel that beauty, only the perspectives are different. We can only contribute a grain of sand toward this change and I think we are doing our bit…I just hope more could join in to multiply those grains.

    Hi Sue,

    That was beautiful.

I have noticed that Gratitude somehow gets linked to a mindset of abundance. I have experienced the power of this principle. Whenever I act as if I already have what I want, even those things which have not yet happened for me, I always feel peaceful and supported.

But I have long deliberated on an aspect that occurs again and again in my life. How do I show gratitude towards someone who does not even understand how deeply he has hurt me?”

When I think of this deeply, I realise that I feel hurt since the other person has failed to acknowledge the fact that he has done wrong. But even if he were to understand the situation, what benefit would that bring to me. I show gratitude and forgiveness from a selfish angle, for maintaining my own well-being. If this be so, does the person who has hurt me really needs to be involved in my process? What stops me from simply releasing that pent up negative energy and moving on?
When I am in conflict with someone, with whom do I get most upset or disappointed? My belief is that when I am displeased with someone else, I’m really reacting to or rejecting some part of me that I can not love right now. Or, I’m blaming myself for being involved in the painful situation because I was vulnerable, unwise, weak or complicit enough to get hurt.

Finding gratitude is a fundamental step in the self-improvement process. We cannot expect anything new to come into our lives without first having a genuine sense of appreciation for what we have now.

Gratitude invites a sense of humility and a focus on what truly matters – which can be especially challenging in our materialistic society. It might help us to reflect that while we may not have everything we want, most of us do have more than everything we need. As Mahatma Gandhi had said, “The world has enough for our needs but not enough for our greed.” Gratitude is what brings everything into balance and provides a proper perspective.

    In gratitude….

      Dear Shakti,
I so appreciate your comment upon this deep subject of Gratitude.. and so I have also thought long and deep before answering you. You said
“But I have long deliberated on an aspect that occurs again and again in my life. How do I show gratitude towards someone who does not even understand how deeply he has hurt me?”

It took me also along while in coming to understand this myself.. In fact I would only say these last year have I fully come to accept and understand this principle of being hurt deeply… And I realised how It was only my own perspective of the deep hurt inflicted which was giving it energy..
We are not only physical beings, but we are driven by our emotions and feelings, so much so that our emotions are key pivots within us… We grow up as we have often spoken of in the past with preconditioned planted ideas that often our parents, schooling and cultures and surroundings teach us.. Our emotions then get deeply seated, and often and will affect not only our thinking, but affect the way we view ourselves, ie insecurities, fears, aspirations.

I can only answer you from my own personal perspective.. We can all read books, and others words about forgiveness, and how we can find peace within.. But that is their experience, not our own.. So yes how do we show gratitude to someone who has hurt us deeply..
Again, this is my own perspective, on how I found it within me to forgive.. And find gratitude within it..

None of us are perfect, I least of all.. But I find if I look into each situation throughout my life where I have felt hurt and wounded.. .. Now for me, my wounds have been emotional.. So I can only comment upon my own experience.. How would I forgive or find gratitude if someone had caused me a life changing injury in the physical, I could not begin to answer, for it has not been within my experience.. So for me to presume it, would not even be right.

I have had to look deeply within at why I was hurt, and break down that emotion, was it something I needed to learn? did that person teach me anything? Have I found more strength within my self because of it?. Has it taught me to be more guarded how I treat others? And after deep analysis of self, I can also get a better picture of how events played out to the scenario of the hurt in the first instance..
There are two sides of every coin. And when Ghandi said
“The world has enough for our needs but not enough for our greed.” , we can be often very selfish in thinking only of our own needs, and see only ourselves as the victim.. But delving deeper we have to ask so what made those lash out or seek to cause our hurts?… What were their insecurities? What was their story?

I did this as I forgave my Mother, I sat one night and sent up a silent prayer, as I thanked her for what she taught me, with her silence of 10 yrs, of her rejection.. She made me stronger, through my weakness of a breakdown. She showed me how others suffer deeper depression than myself.. She taught me it was also my stubbornness in giving up as I stopped reaching out to be accepted.. She taught me So much about myself.. I let go of hurt.. and replaced it with Gratitude.. And a weight lifted as I started to Love ME for me, as I let go of the feeling of unworthiness..
Thank you Dear Shakti for your visit and for giving me the opportunity to voice out loud my experience..
      In Love and Gratitude
      Sue

Was caught up in the local Diwali celebrations recently! Quite by accident but it was interesting and educational as I wasn’t familiar with what it was all about. We’re a whole mixed grill of nationalities and cultures here so it was nice to see so many English children involved in this Indian celebration of light, and the drums were great! I find they always reach out to the primeval in me 😉 Hope you enjoyed Black Friday and Cyber Monday…seeing as it’s all linked to thanksgiving 🙂 I did…got a fantastic new tablet with £100 off it, which I could never have got normally…giving thanks for that! And hoping I catch the courier man tomorrow delivering it’s very expensive but Cyber Monday’d price tag! Oh… I notice it’s snowing on your blog! I guess that means it’s snowing on my Europan one then 😉 Haven’t had chance to visit it yet lol 🙂 xx

oh yes! It definitely arrived in time and it’s gorgeous! Had to have a little peep 😉 I gather this Saturday was considered to be “Take back Saturday” lol…when everyone took back what they got on Black Friday 😉 Not me though…too busy shovelling snow out of my blog so I could get to these comments 😉 That and the chasing around trying to find a shop that could attach the cover for the new tablet onto it before Christmas! Got it direct from Samsung but it was horrendous to attach….no danger of it falling out of the cover now it’s on…ever!!!! lol 😀 Hope you’re having a great weekend, big Wolfie hugs xx

It’s about two months since my last post lol so figured I’d better get my paw out and make a bit of effort for once 😉 Yes love my tab 🙂 And it’s definitely for keeps…I don’t believe in discarding them and leaving them tossed in a drawer uncharged and unloved and scared! Bless their little electronic “chips” lol! That’s a horrible way to treat a tablet whatever the reason…show them some love! 🙂 xx

Each of us, carries within us the capacity to change the world in small ways for better or worse. Everything we do and think affects the people in our lives, and their reactions in turn affect others As the effect of a seemingly insignificant word passes from person to person, its impact grows and can become a source of great joy, inspiration, anxiety, or pain. Your thoughts and actions are like stones dropped into still waters, causing ripples to spread and expand as they move outward.. I hope that I can send a few ripples out via the web of life, as we each of us weave the threads together... Welcome to my Sanctuary of Peace and Love... May we each spread our Lights around our World....Sue Dreamwalker
