Healing Words

Healing Words Poem

Let the Pen flow across the page

Allow it to release all that pent up rage

Form the words as they are born in your mind

Feel the Lightness as you let go and unwind

~~

See the Messages we give to ourselves

Pouring out emotions so long held

Poetry in Motion, Healing at a stroke

As we let go of Anger that we never have spoke

~~

See the patterns that form into words

Voice them on paper, so they can be heard

They say the Pen is Mightier than the Sword

Know their Power, as we cut the cords

~~

Words and Letters may jumble and mix

Once Written out loud they can heal and fix

The long held wounds we hold in our hearts

So take out your Pen- Let the Healing Start!

Writing can be quite cathartic I think Sue, and it also helps us to clarify our thinking I find. Blogging is a wonderful medium in those respects, even though most bloggers I know are working more creatively it would appear. H ❤

Someone once asked me if I were stranded on an island what could I absolutely not live without(excluding food and water). I did not have to think at all, I just automatically said pen and paper..I can not imagine life without being able to place my thoughts on paper or computer whatever the choice may be…Keep doodling and letting it all hang out! It’s a wonderful gift to cherish. There are many that cannot stand to write at all…Seems so foreign to me. Thanks for sharing…Hugs…VK ❤

Before meetings I would sit by the window and dream. Words would come into my mind and if I let them pass they would disappear into the ether. If I wrote then down, however silly they would seem, they would eventually draw themselves into forms and phrases, verses and stories which I could work with and create something beautiful. I don’t know where they came from although it has been said that I have a great imagination. You can draw your own doodles and draft your day dreams into your own special creations just like our dear Sue. Love, David

    Hi Sue,

The wonderful aspect of words is that they can heal, their power can only be felt when we let them flow on the paper and once we hold that pen, we are amazed at how they start forming, linking, connecting and enriching our lives!
Thanks for a lovely poem. Enjoy your busy time!

Nifty doodling, Sue, and nice words. I spotted a spider’s web and feather amongst the other things… both quite relevant to me at the moment. I’m finding white feathers almost by the dozen on a daily basis right now… and cobwebs seem to be on the increase also. I shall have a go and let my pen do some talking later.

    Dear Sue,

    Great verse.

As I sat reading it, a thought came up saying, ” something was amiss…..” But as I read the verse again, I could not say for sure what it was! Have you experienced this kind of ‘thought trap’?

On a more conscious level, I take reference to these lines of yours.

“…..They say the Pen is Mightier than the Sword
Know their Power, as we cut the cords…….”

Have we ever wondered what is it really that makes the articulation of the pen mightier? Is it because it can create thoughts and ideas which can shift perspectives, as what is usually mentioned?

To me the strength of the articulation lies in the language. And it is this language which has the power of influencing our way of being and thinking……. Aspects of healing and fixing, as you say, are mere manifestations of this, is it not?

    Blessings

    Shakti

      Hello dear Shakti,
As always your own words add their own thoughtful response as they provoke us to ponder deeper into the unsaid words upon the page.. 🙂

Maybe the words that ‘Gap’ which you saw missing were indeed the unspoken thoughts.. 🙂 the ones that need to be pulled up from within our cores to be voiced outloud on paper that then enables them to cut like the sword and sever their attachments 🙂 .. Its often these unspoken words/thoughts/language which has throughout aeons had the power to ingrain their meaning into our emotional psyche .. Which influences our way of being and thinking.. So much so we do not even realise they reside deep within us..

It’s not until we dig and delve, the lines I scrubbed out that we bring to the surface what has got so buried within..
And the spoken word is all too often spoken without ‘Thought’ which adds yet more layers to our complex nature.

Learning to alter and shift our perspectives is the Power we all need to embrace as we learn to heal ourselves and each other..

Again dear Shakti.. you have used your magic to bring out my own words which have flowed in respectful response 🙂
      Blessings and Gratitude
      Sue

LOL, well I doubt that within some of the heavy doodles, It can be a sign of frustration!! 🙂 the heart on the left didn’t start out as heart.. It was quite an ugly looking large spider.. I didn’t like what I drew so poured some love over it in the form of heart :-).. I am sure there must be some message in there.. And deep down I know what that is… 🙂 You could say I did a little of my own cleansing while creating it 🙂

The poem is very fluid and emotive. ❤ You are quite the poetess. I recently wrote an essay on Anne Bradstreet, the first female North American poetess, published. She was a Puritan and born in England. Don't know why I am babbling on about it. I think your poem reminded me of her work. ❤

Each of us, carries within us the capacity to change the world in small ways for better or worse. Everything we do and think affects the people in our lives, and their reactions in turn affect others As the effect of a seemingly insignificant word passes from person to person, its impact grows and can become a source of great joy, inspiration, anxiety, or pain. Your thoughts and actions are like stones dropped into still waters, causing ripples to spread and expand as they move outward.. I hope that I can send a few ripples out via the web of life, as we each of us weave the threads together... Welcome to my Sanctuary of Peace and Love...
