Caught Between Worlds.

Was it by chance as I looked for a picture to go with my poem that I came across this particular one on Google, as I followed the link page which led me to Openhand’s website, whom I have listened to on YouTube  many times before. I found his newly remastered 2015 Video in this  spiritually enlightening  very interesting documentary about our awakening.

I am sure you too will have asked all the same questions of why are we here? and why is there so much pain and suffering?   And how do we find ourselves. And move through this Shift in our reality.

Last night I awoke in the night with a sentence that kept repeating over and over.. So I reached for my journal and started to write.. The poem below is the result.. But interestingly as I looked at the digital clock, it said 1:11…  Smiling I wrote what came into my mind. The sentence that kept repeating was~Thousands of Miles I have Walked

Thousands of Miles I have walked

Between your worlds I am caught

Herded like cattle beaten and penned

What will it take you to make you my friend?

~~

My Children are frightened and weak

They cry constantly from fear in their sleep

I comfort their tired Shaken minds

As we walk, hoping your hearts will be kind

~~

Thousands of Miles I have travelled

The clothes on my back all dishevelled

I’m hungry and thirsty, but so is my child

She no longer laughs he no longer smiles.

~~

What makes you so afraid of me?

Can you not open you hearts to my plea?

My Family were slaughtered, my home no longer stands

So Thousands of Miles I walk across Lands

~~

I did not ask for War

That caused me to walk to your Door

I look different because of my dress

But beneath I’m the same in Distress

~~

What does it take to Unite?

To stop the Divisions and Fights

Thousands of Miles I have Walked

Yet Humanity it seems has learnt Naught!

Good idea Sue as most people are focusing on the journey and the reactions-i.e. Hungarian police and the military now, and less on the fact that these poor people need prayers and healing. Thanks for pointing it out.
I knit and once had a group that knit hats for orphaned children in Gaza. We would send the hats in with anybody we could find who was making the journey into the enclave. The pictures of the children and those hats were marvelous because they owned so very little of their own and they felt that the world cared-even just a bit. Maybe I’ll start something similar for incoming Syrian/Iraqis-comfort toys for the little ones this time.

Sue, you shine a light on why we humans are a strange species. So many caring, sensitive, and loving people who are appalled by the refugee/migrant crisis. Yet, as your beautiful poem illustrates, so many who seek money, power and control. As I am wont to repeat, “The more I see and know people, the more I love dogs.”

I think the answer to all four of the questions you ask in your plaintive above work is evolution dear Sue. I do not mean that in the narrowest, biological sense, though that may well play a part, but instead in evolving empathic capacity. Empathy itself was thought to be an evolutionary imperative, in so much as our species’ continuation was dependant upon it. And yet of course, such states of mind are not merely arrangements of neuronal pathways, they have agency outside of ourselves, and exist as transformative forces within others’ consciousness. At this stage in our evolution, many of us have a deficit of empathy, which, if not caused by any clinical psychopathy, likely stems from what we may simply term self-centredness. There are many ways to ameliorate this, although of course, the will has to be there initially to do so. Therefore, all attempts at raising awareness of this need, such as those you constantly make here, are vital for humankind’s continuation and well-being.

I so understand you Hariod… And agree entirely with you, as we see the world reflected back in it’s confusion and fear.. Our lives have indeed become self centred, to coin a phrase ” I’m al-right jack” as many bury their heads thinking the world’s problems are nothing to do with them.. When in fact ” WE” are the problem.. so I totally agree with your sentence

At this stage in our evolution, many of us have a deficit of empathy, which, if not caused by any clinical psychopathy, likely stems from what we may simply term self-centredness.

    Hi Sue,
I was very drawn to your post because of the title. I had a dream last week or so where I spotted a lovely painting with the title between 2 worlds. Although the dream has since passed, the image remains with me.
I hope to watch the videos. I often have good intentions and do forget as I read so much online.
But I will say this. I still think the inner work precedes the outer change. I limit my exposure to negative news and imagery but have watched a few stories about the refugee crisis. When I watch I feel like I am watching something from another time period in the distant past. Why is this still happening? I ask. But I know the answer. People are suffering all over the world and live in fear. They are afraid to share when they are in lack. And the cycle continues.

Change begins with paying attention to one’s breath and one’s heart.

    <3<3<3 and 111s to you,
    Linda

Don’t you just love it when Dream images stay with you Linda.. 🙂 Yes we all need to look at our reflections, because the World is mirroring back to us the problems we all fail to address.. And your sentence here Linda is the crux of the problem…

People are suffering all over the world and live in fear. They are afraid to share when they are in lack. And the cycle continues.

May we all find our sacred centres dear Linda, as we will all need to ‘Breatheeeeee’ through the changes to come. xxx ❤

Love those late night inspirations! Well done DW. Everything is coming to a head and soon the voice of the people will be heard chanting” we will no longer comply.” The truth of humanities plight is being exposed and the suffering is no longer being ignored! It cannot all continue on as it has. These are the energies we have all been feeling swirling around. We sense it all coming to loggerheads and now we must be strong. Beautiful poem my friend. Thanks for sharing.

I agree with you VK.. especially about things coming to a head.. In many other ways too, I am seeing corruption exposures, and the systems in place collapsing.. If we have to have a ‘New World’ then the old one can be no more.. It amazed me today how the emissions of VW took president over the plight of Refugees, in the order of main media coverage. Diversion of attention yet again! I am feeling though from speaking to every-day folk the mood is changing and compassion and caring is being sent.. Plus many are now seeing through the old regimes.. 🙂 Thank you, and your own piece of writing too in your recent post is great writing, I read in my email, I need to get along to comment.. But I am taking the rest of the week off from blog land as I will explain in an update.. Love and Big hugs dear VK .. ❤ ❤

    Hi Sue,

Many times I too write my poetry when ideas suddenly hit me. There was a time when I used to keep a writing pad and some pens by my bedside, knowing I would wake up to write! At times I wrote without a light, thinking my hubby would feel disturbed.

I loved the plaintive tone of this poem, which clearly brings out how strongly do you feel and understand the emotions and desperation of humanity who suffers due to others. Thank you for articulating it so well.

Often innocents suffer for the follies of selfish minded people and nations! A dilemma which even modern, well-developed, technologically driven minds have failed to address!

Peace may be lying within but it has to come from outside for such a scenario. Thank you for highlighting the issue.

I think dear Balroop we act as a channel, and during those quieter hours there are not as many electromagnetic devices out there and our channels are clearer, a little like a radio station we then tune in better and and our subconscious.Higher Conscious links are able to communicate clearer.. I find most poems come this way and often I write as is, its only rarely I make alterations, they come thick and fast.

The world is a mirror of the confusion of many and the mindlessness and greed we see.. And yes the innocent Suffer, and yet somewhere deep within my I also know even with all the horrors happening in certain parts of the world.. All is unfolding as it should… All was foretold by many our our wise indigenous people, and as I mentioned within a link in a previous poem, we have two roads, two paths we can travel on..

I feel deep within we are at the cusp of that crossroads, and if we do not hold out our hands in compassion and open our hearts, We all can help prepare that path with our thoughts the most powerful tool for change, that many do not realise what we think we create.. We need a harmonic response, not a negative one within this situation..

I thank you so much for adding your thoughts here Balroop.. I appreciate your response.. ❤

If words can fix the problems of the world.
You have given us words of motivation.
Now what are we going to do?
Lay awake at night and worry?
Work in our garden and enjoy a simple life?
All we can do is live moderately in tune with our surroundings.
Letting our way of life be an example.
    Who is listening Sue?
Not the ones that are profiting from bombing and rebuilding.
    Not the multinational company executives.
The system is rigged when a bank goes bust the people pull it out of the red.
We should be careful where we invest and spend your money.
The serenity prayer is good advice but as prayer it is useless, because no one is listening. _/\_

Hi Jack, I knew this post would not be your cup of tea 🙂 but sometimes I have to follow my instincts.. Even if it will never fall upon the ears that need to listen, or the hearts which need to open..
I wasn’t laying awake worrying.. Although such tragedy in the world will always affect me, that is just the way I am made.. but I also know this is all part of ALL of our learning process, as this world changes rapidly.. Pushing us to either mend our ways and bring more harmony in our world.. Or it will push us over the edge whereby there probably is no hope for Mankind unless we have one huge cleansing..
Yes the ‘System’ is rigged, I am wide awake in that area dear Jack.. Fully understanding why and who are behind the War Games within our world.
But I can not just turn a blind eye either and pretend all is well in my own garden.. It is.. but I am also Part of the whole.. and the Whole is in need of healing..
And yes I also understand the only way we can heal the whole is to heal ourselves.. I just want others to open up their own Inner perspective to those caught up between Both Worlds..
I appreciate your wisdom Jack 🙂 .. I am tuning in to my surroundings.. Our town is already heaving with immigrants and migrant workers from across the EU, so the Millions pouring into the EU now will change all of our lives.. I want the prejudices to stop, I want people to have mutual respect for each other, I want Harmony and Peace.. YES I Want the IMPOSSIBLE!! But if we do not Dare to Dream and reach for it, Tell me, what is the alternative for our grandchildren’s future..
It ALL begins with US… we’re the One’s we have been waiting for.. So I speak out in verse.. And this Poem was waiting in my subconscious just waiting for the quiet moment in the middle of the night to wake me to tell me to write it down..

Love and Blessings dear Jack… and Many thanks for adding your thoughts I appreciate each and everyone.. _/\_

Sue I was concerned for you as I pictured you having sleepless nights. Letting the out side world affect too deeply your inside world.
My comment appears to contradict the maxim on the header of my blog.
I tried to say you show the way adequately by your life style.
Do not let the turmoil in the world disturb your sleep.
The serenity prayer is good advice but it takes no supernatural being to grant this wisdom we have the power.
Sue it is presumptuous of me to advise you, That is just one of my faults I have not found the time to meditate on. If I do I will have to change my blog content. _/\_ . .

I know, and once upon a time I would lay awake often worrying over things I have no control over.. But over time I so understand no amount of my worrying will change things.
However I can always try to inject some positivity and open hearts to situations.. And as your wonderful Blog Header states “Try even if you fail but never fail to try.”
I will keep trying LOL.. 😀
And I appreciate all of you, and we are all of us perfect, with all our faults and I have plenty of them I can assure you I am far from perfect!..

Yes it all starts with bringing ‘Awareness’ into the mix.. and seeing beyond that which is..
And as Jack rightly pointed out in his comment.. when he said “Who is listening Sue?
Not the ones that are profiting from bombing and rebuilding.
      Not the multinational company executives.
The system is rigged when a bank goes bust the people pull it out of the red.”
I totally get that.. People are Pawns, and Life is cheap.. Awareness is the key and I so agree.. “Awareness is the start of Make Action”
And we all have a personal responsibility in bringing that awareness in the best ways we know how… For me its within poems.. 🙂 with you its within your beautiful photo’s and wonderful philosophy about Life.. 🙂
Many thanks Dalo.. I appreciate your thoughts.

Stirring thoughts and verses dear Sue.Human beings are not cruel and bloody-minded by nature, but those who seek power have submersed Humanity in a bleak big picture. How many more millions will become extinct before they get the ultimate power over our planet in their hands?Do we need a Neo-Humanity with a unified global currency and one world government? Will it stop the divisions and fights?
When I see all these sufferings and pain around,I have a feeling that Humanity is headed for dystopia.Big changes are approaching and seem to be inevitable;what roles are we going to play? Will we have the strength to re-format their schemes if they are against our ideology and values? All these are rhetorical questions and thoughts that harass my mind but I don’t write poems like you …

Thousands of miles I have walked…..you were inspired to write this Sue, and the photo attached really does bring home the heartbreaking journey of broken families, reminiscent of the bible story as they are refused entry at every level. Prayers offered for them, I am sure, do get heard, but prayers are needed too for awareness of our own failings. The phrase ‘think globally, act locally’ comes to mind and if everyone were to be more aware of, and care for, the suffering in their own back yard, perhaps the transition to a higher level of being would come easier. There are so many challenges in this world, but I believe the positive vibrations of heartfelt prayer is as necessary as all the physical help needed too.

Inspirational words Sue, fortunately you see things through a caring and humane heart, others are, alas still lost in a world of confusion, and cannot see through your eyes.
    Kind regards.

Yes there are many closed eyes and closed minds still around.. but I am ever the optimist .. And although many still sleep.. More are yawning and awakening up to the realities of life.. And seeing we can not keep burying our heads to the problems and plights the World which we are a part of have created.. We are all of us part of the problem.. It is we who need to change our perceptions and views of age old beliefs we have been brought up into believing..
Thank you Ian.. I very much appreciate your thoughts x 🙂 Sue xx

Sue your words so soothing, gentle yet so haunting. As these days pass if feels as a calm before a storm. I feel I should be afraid, but I’m not because I believe our love for humanity will conquer and bring peace. These words you wrote are electricfying.

Coincidence you saw 1.11 and found the matching picture to your poem? I think not. I don’t always watch the clock, but when I do I often catch 1.11 and 11.11. 🙂

Hi Sue. I couldn’t agree with you more. We need to pay attention to the signs. 🙂 And lol, my goodness Sue, please don’t apologize for delays. Besides the fact that we are all busy doing so many things, I was quite aware of how many comments you had to respond to as I kept scrolling and scrolling to get to the bottom to comment, lol. xoxo

Wow! A wonderful poem. It feels no matter how many miles you have walked we battle this war between worlds inside of us. It does not matter which country you are from. We are all on this journey. Thank you Sue for this poem it resonate with my life right now. I no longer need to battle both worlds. Love and Light XXX000

Yes I agree Diane.. But we are all of us upon that same journey.. all be it on different roads, each of us do not always hold the map of where we are going, but you can be sure we are all heading in the same direction!!.. Let us just learn to hold hands instead of making fists, and find peace along our travels rather than conflicts .. Love and peace to you Diane.. xx

Each of us, carries within us the capacity to change the world in small ways for better or worse. Everything we do and think affects the people in our lives, and their reactions in turn affect others As the effect of a seemingly insignificant word passes from person to person, its impact grows and can become a source of great joy, inspiration, anxiety, or pain. Your thoughts and actions are like stones dropped into still waters, causing ripples to spread and expand as they move outward.. I hope that I can send a few ripples out via the web of life, as we each of us weave the threads together... Welcome to my Sanctuary of Peace and Love... May we each spread our Lights around our World....Sue Dreamwalker
