The Future ~ Standing as One with Nature

Wake up to Nature.

Wake up and savour the beauties that abound,

Wake up and honour all life that is around.

We take you for granted, even the air we breathe

Take time to look at the blossoms on the trees

~~

Look deep into a flower and see the wonders there

Take time to stop and listen to birds in the air..

Watch the glistening water, ripple over stones

Be thankful for the morning, these gifts and our homes

~~

We take Nature for granted, as she bestows these gifts for free

It’s up to us to look after her, for she’s there for you and me.

What if one day you awoke, and the air you breathed were black?

What happens if nature decides she is fighting back

~~

And no longer shall the bees pollinate the crops

And no longer will the rain give you those pure drops

Open your eyes, for we work hand in glove

Wake Up, and be thankful, For Nature needs our love

The Lyrics of this Song can be found HERE along with more information about  Xiuhtezcatl Martinez, a 15 year old youth leader with the non-governmental group Earth Guardians. who wrote “Speak for the Trees” was written in the summer of 2014.

Thank you to Brad whose post Awesome Stories connected me with this young man and his endeavours to enlighten people about taking action into caring for our Planet Earth.

I was impressed with this young man as he said in one of his videos

” The Biggest Challenge  we face is shifting Human Consciousness not saving the planet Because you know the planet doesn’t need saving,

but we do..”

And   Xiuhtezcatl  is right.. Mother Earth Will eventually heal from all that we have done to her.. But will we still be a species upon her?

Thank you.. Yes her speech I have shared here several times over in the past.. And her passion still brings a lump to my throat.. I was saddened to see how many absent chairs were there for her speech. and the same with this young man how others behind seemed disengaged .. I think that is the problem.. They really are leaving it up to the young generation to sort out. because as we both know Money speaks louder than words and many a pocket is filled in these halls via the Big Corporations to keep things the same..

Thank you Brad.. Yes you did indeed inspire.. Yes despite all we do Mother Earth will heal.. she is shifting even now, for she is a living planet. And our world has gone through many changes in the past.. Ice Ages came after global warming.. And our Earth is going through her own changes.. We humans also need to remember we are also evolving.. But we are forgetting one thing.. Our Connection to our Earth Mother.. We are not separate. And if we continue to disrespect our Earth and Life within it.. We have to be prepared for the consequences.
This young man is clear in his thinking.. He sees it is Humanity that needs to shift its awareness.. One away from Profit and Greed, to one of sustainability and co-operation with Nature and each other.. Yes Many need to wake up before Nature give us a Big Wake Up Call.. x

What an extraordinarily eloquent and confident young speaker Xiuhtezcatl Martinez is Sue. I sometimes despair at how little political consciousness young people have here in England, yet the recent support for Jeremy Corbyn by students and young people generally has been pleasingly surprising to me. Your elegant and poetic verses are a fine and fitting accompaniment to the crucially important message of Martinez – many congratulations and thanks dear Sue. H ❤

Yes his parents must be proud of him and the way they have brought him to view life.. And yes I smile too Hariod at Jeremy Corbyn support.. Sometimes plain speaking and common sense hits the mark.. Much better than the waffle usually sprouting forth from Politicians mouths 🙂
Many thanks for your support and comment dear Hariod.. It gives me hope that many younger generations are connecting to Nature and our Environmental Issues.. But they still have to contend with the old established ways of thinking and being.. But no one thought the Berlin wall would fall as it did.. So we live in exciting times of change.. And when enough start to take action and start to alter their mind sets.. We then create the conditions to change our reality 🙂 Many thanks for your visit.. And I wish you a wonderful week 🙂 Hugs Sue

Thanks for another heart stirring message from the depths of your being dear Sue. To honor all of life and not take that what’s been abundantly and freely given to us requires us to be truly awake. It’s so easy to forget and feel entitled; when nature decides to fight back it’s usually too late.
I just got to see some beautiful pictures that a friend sent from around the village where he works where unbridled felling of trees has been a feature for many years. The hills looked like a mixture of ‘beautiful’ and ‘bare’! He shared that it was hard to fully blame the people because they had no means of cooking other than wood. Our circumstances sometimes put us in situations when we can’t avoid hurting the environment but these villagers do it with a grateful heart, poor in resources, appreciating the gifts, they take what they need without overdoing. It only becomes an issue when hurting nature is fueled by man’s greed otherwise I think nature provides in plenty to take care of all our needs.
I’m not able to check the videos from where I am at present but can’t wait to see them. Many thanks again and I send lots of love your way!

Yes…I’ve seen this video of Severn Cullis and was greatly relieved to know the crystal children are indeed moving to make a difference in the world. Loved the Earth Guardian kids too. Such great energy! We old timers are a bit weary at this point and it is a comfort to know someone has our backs! No slacking off though, just nice to know we can take a short rest at times when needed…We will ALL get through this journey together and find the rainbow at the end of the tunnel. Stay strong! Dear Sue,

thank you so much for sharing these videos. I was sad too that people in the room seemed to show so little interest … maybe they’re not taking him seriously because he is so young? Or are they already resigned because they have been trying to make changes for years and everything was sabotaged? I feel a bit like that too sometimes … but the plants reminded me that it’s the Earth who has the power, not the people who cut down the trees.

Thanks for the beautiful post! ❤

Oh! I am so late!! Nature being one of my first loves, I truly appreciate the awareness button you have triggered through your beautiful words. My conviction is that with awareness we can make the next generation sensitive to the need of the hour…the immediate attention that Mother Nature needs. It is a universal fact that mothers are often taken for granted and therefore the catastrophic consequences!

Thanks Sue for the reminder and lets continue to raise them.

    Hey Sue D 🙂

Hoping all is well in the far-flung reaches of Northern England 🙂 Are you enjoying the sunshine and ‘summer’ time?

Sue, you’ve been inspired to pen a superb poem that rouses the emotions and brings one’s thinking back down to Earth with a very clear message and a deftly spoken wake-up call. How wonderfully your prose compliments the passion and determination of a uniquely gifted and brave voice calling out in the darkness as a beacon to follow on a course leading to common sense and harmonious living. One only hopes our eternal relationships with Nature will not be contained behind walls and wire but permitted to remain protected within naturally occurring habitats and eco-systems the whole world over. One gets the feeling there is a long way to go, and yet with the death of Cecil the Lion comes a wave of positive intention and Love that can, and will inspire the next generation to make amends for the perpetual sins of the fathers and support a programme of radical change and elevated thinking. If only it were all possible to bring time forward somehow and contain the suffering that will occur as corporate business and their insidious propensity for greed fight harder not to lose their grip on a planet sadly still turning on an axis of gold.

Coming to your site Sue is an immersive experience…your passion and enthusiasm are generously given and wholly infectious. At time of writing, there are 47 other people who like me, find themselves in full agreement with you and are lifted by your post, and hopefully inspired, or impelled into action on some level. Raising awareness and creating the shift in collective consciousness starts with a single stone dropped into a still pond of thought to send ripples spinning outwards across the globe. Let’s hope and pray that your stone, and that dropped by Xiuhtezcatl Martinez will help build a wave of change and betterment for all. Every voice is sacred, as to every beat of the War drum.

Thank you for being a Warrior of Light to follow Mrs Dreamwalker 🙂

Have a wonderful evening in the balmy summer sunshine lol 🙂

You brought out such a hot issue, dearest Sue!Poignant and most evocative the verses of your poem and all the accompanying videos, which strongly support the alarming situation you tackled.Great the effort of the young people who have been sensitised and take action to protect our planet.
Robert Swan, the first man who explored both Poles, said once that :
“The greatest threat to our planet is the belief that someone else will save it.”
We are all responsible, more or less, but little is done to lessen the detrimental consequences of our actions. We have dramatically disturbed the enviromental balances and all ecosystems.Nature knows how to cure her wounds, but we have to wake up and stop the destruction of our common home.Nature is so generous, but we,humans, are so ungrateful and greedy … So sad and disappointing, dear friend.Your post is very influential and your contibution to society for a better future is priceless!

Your words ring so very true Sue, we have all these gifts around us that nature provides and it just takes a commitment by those in power for us to properly utilize what is already out there. Yes, there will be higher prices but it is nothing compared to the good we do to our environment around us in the short term (and especially the long term). You say it so well, and I love the ending “Wake Up, and be thankful, For Nature needs our love.” Wish you a great week.

We all know the importance of preserving nature yet very few really do something that really makes a difference. Xiuhtezcatl Martinez is one such amazing bright star who does make a difference and leads from the front.
