Are There Fairies At The Bottom of Your Garden?

We had our Granddaughter stop over, and we spent a wonderful day doing many things, but I had promised her she could help paint a small birdhouse. The birdhouse had been on the wall for over two year waiting for it to be taken over as a nesting site.. As there were still no takers this year, I asked my Husband to take it down as I had other plans for it.

We set to with paint and brushes while my granddaughter gave it white walls and a green roof.  She wanted a Fairy House

Enjoying Painting.

We did many other things too, such as go and buy some new fish for the tropical tank and outside pond. Which she supervised to ensure they settled into their new homes. We played Fairy Princesses and hide and seek among many other things.

Grandma got busy in-between other chores to paint the windows and door and put a coat of varnish on it over the next couple of wet days .

So after the rainy weather and wind had died down Grandma got busy outside and this is the result

Everything looks tickety-boo

And I am sure she will soon settle into her new home

I hope you enjoyed meeting the Fairy at the bottom of our garden.. And should you wish to see how the Veggies are growing in the allotments.. Then Press this link HERE to take you to the allotment photo’s all is now nearly set.. And growing nicely.

Oh and I saw my little Wood-mouse this morning sat on the bird feeder eating grain.. He paused as I paused, 🙂 as he stuffed his mouth , we both looked at each other for a second then he scurried back into the wood pile.. 🙂  Lovely to see him/her again.

I hope you are all having a Fantastic Week..

Enjoy Life and Live it well and be good to one another!

Blessings

~Sue~

Lovely work hun – your granddaughter looked like she was enjoying herself! 🙂

Hope a bird finds itself a home there! 🙂

You might consider putting a perch outside the entrance hole – that way the bird can land before going in! 🙂

    Love and hugs!

I am certain of it Tom… I still have another bird house waiting for the birds.. it seems they prefer to make nests in my shrubs which is fine by me.. 🙂 So the adaptation of this little home has not been a loss but a gain. 🙂 as I am sure the Fairies can’t resist taking a peek and making it a new home.. The Tooth fairy too will no doubt be arriving next year, so maybe if the other nest box has no takers we can set up another home for her. 🙂 xxx Lovely to see you again here Tom 🙂 Hugs Sue

Oh, Sue, what a lovely day you two had. Has your granddaughter seen the finished fairy house yet? I am sure this will be one of her favorite spots to hang out. I can’t help but think of your comment that you have been considering moving and look around your property thinking you would have a hard time capturing the magical spaces you have created here.

Yes she has seen the finished result Lois, and brought me the next project.. A plaster of paris mould which we painted today… Frozen Elsa no less. which she wants near the fairy house.
Yes we are mindful of what we would be leaving.. But also mindful to move before the upheaval would be too much as the years tick on by. And yes the gardens, even the allotments are so close by, we would be hard pressed to find anything to match what we already have.. And I thank you Lois for considering our garden magical… it certainly holds its magic for us.. 🙂 ❤

    What a beautiful creation Sue!

I wonder though whether what got created was the handiwork of a little girl and her grandmother. Or was it really the creation of two little girls who allowed their creative imaginations to run free.

Within each one of us resides that little girl ( or boy), replete with all those memories and dreams. Just waiting for a trigger to jump out. As you spent the time with your granddaughter, did you notice that little girl within you? And if you did, did you notice her thoughts and emotions?

My little Grand son and I have a game, when he comes to visit we go into the garden trying to dig up buried treasure, he always finds his little coins in the little treasure chest, the look in his eyes is priceless.

Such a sweetly written post. Your granddaughter looks so happy and I am sure proud of her painting. I lobe the ladder and the flowering vines in the window boxes, Sue.

Did Grandma also get busy painting those beautiful flowers growing over the fairy house? 😉 What a beautiful story and a great idea for an old bird box. We have an unused one in our garden, perhaps if there are no takers for it next year I’ll ask our nieces if they’d like to make a fairy home… Have you seen the fairy doors that you can get to paint on fences and trees? Another job for Grandma when she has a moment… http://www.enchanteddoorways.co.uk/

Thank you.. 🙂 all the base work was painted by my granddaughter 🙂 .. She also loves to come look to see what is different when she visits with the house 🙂 ( I move the Gnome around and tell her he only turns to stone when we humans are here. She hunts him down in the flower beds and puts him back near the fairy house 🙂 )

Each of us, carries within us the capacity to change the world in small ways for better or worse. Everything we do and think affects the people in our lives, and their reactions in turn affect others As the effect of a seemingly insignificant word passes from person to person, its impact grows and can become a source of great joy, inspiration, anxiety, or pain. Your thoughts and actions are like stones dropped into still waters, causing ripples to spread and expand as they move outward.. I hope that I can send a few ripples out via the web of life, as we each of us weave the threads together... Welcome to my Sanctuary of Peace and Love... May we each spread our Lights around our World....Sue Dreamwalker
