Letting Go, and Be Happy!

Letting Go.

I’m going to start with a short story from a book

[“Called 15 ways to be a Happier You.”.Tia –Chi  Chi Kung]

By Peter Chin Kean Choy.

Quote.

Feeling bad may not have been a conscious choice, But what about feeling bad, about feeling bad?

A businessman came to see me and shared how everything around him had collapsed. He was financially bankrupt, his relationships had broken up, bills and debts flooded his desk. On top of that he was an alcoholic and his health was poor.

As the seconds ticked by, John recounted his miseries again and again. It was like a vicious wheel, everything he thought he shared revolved around the centre of his suffering. As he talked, I pointed to my watch and commented, ‘John, no one could deny you the right to feel that you are in a bad situation. And now…. You were in a bad situation… each moment passing by, you have a choice how to choose to be….now and now… and now, three seconds have just passed by…. how you choose to be now is your choice..

He listened, he took some deep sighs and realised—perhaps for the first time in his life—that he had this freedom of choice. He replied, ‘I think I know what you are saying. It is like compounding interest in the bank. Each moment of negativity can be compounded’.

I responded, ‘You’ve got it John, You could feel bad about having felt bad and the next moment, you could feel bad about feeling bad about having felt bad, about having felt bad…Or  you could actually release that old pattern and start anew this moment… and this moment.. and this moment now.”

End Quote.

There is a John inside all of us who at one time or another gives up hope and feels really down. If you are in such a situation now, gently accept how you are feeling. You did the best you could. Your bad feelings of feeling bad about feeling bad were simply your way of coping with the situation and you want the situation to get better.

Here is a visualization for you to do..

You are your own inner gardener with the ability to compost your negative thoughts and feelings,

Visualise that you are sitting in a beautiful garden.. See all the beauties of this garden See all your blessings and give thanks for them Then..See to one side of you beautiful garden in the corner some magic compost bins.

They are always here to use, day or night. All you have to do is your letting go exercise.. Imagine you are letting go of any negative feelings by placing them gently into your compost bin. Know that over a period of time your bin will turn all those ugly thoughts and transform them into a rich ‘black Gold’ to once again enrich and make your garden grow. Knowing that through your experience you will be stronger. Trust that once you have put the negative thought into the bin it will be dealt with.

If you are not a gardener.. Then why not visualise a huge Angel hand.. and you place all  your worries and negative thoughts into Gods hands. And it will be taken and dispersed of as the angels feel fit.

H.A.P.P.Y.

H.A.P.P.Y.  Me being Happy..

Also clearing out the old and making way for the new.. Recycle all the things you no longer use, give them away or give to charities.. see how good it makes you feel.

Start a garden.. it doesn’t have to be a big one, potted plants, a herb garden. Compost your own vegetable wastes. Feel good about making something grow, And then let that feeling grow inside of you.

Lupins in the pots and along at the end some Dahlias and Gladioli, for cut flowers in the autumn. Behind you can see the rows of garlic which was planted as cloves in October now growing.

Lupins in the pots and along at the end some Dahlias and Gladioli, for cut flowers in the autumn. Behind you can see the rows of garlic which was planted as cloves in October now growing.

Watch a funny film. Laughter is truly a magical medicine. There are many ways of ‘Letting go’.

I am re-learning again to let go of all the feelings and emotions that I have let build, which I know has contributed to letting the ‘stress’ build which I know has made me feel ill.

One of the first Qi Gong Exercises is to find your peaceful happy self by releasing and letting go…..  Even if you do not know how to do Qi Gong.. You all know how to breathe..

Breathe in deeply and evenly and as you breathe out release and let go.. Put all your problems into that bin or into God’s hands and you will soon find how lighter you will feel… I imagine all my problems as grey particles or smoke coming from within as I breathe out. Why not give it a try and see how you can Breathe yourself to a more peaceful and happier you.

Have a Wonderful Weekend

~ Sue~

    I like this… but you knew I would 🙂
I was driving in an incredible thunderstorm a few minutes ago and I was thinking along the thoughts you have here…it felt like giving up and somewhere a quiet voice said” we don’t give up…we go on and on in another direction, it will all come full circle, and where will you stand on the thoughts you have right now when it comes again” i didn’t have an answer, but I liked the thought of I am not giving up, the other person did…I didn’t fail, nor did he, it is now my choice I make for me, not his choice to choose what he thinks is best for me…for it was always what he wanted, what he thought best for himself….no not sad…just seeing clearer than I have in a long time…

Good post My Friend…your words make me smile..so I choose to go on and smile as I go 🙂
I will email you back in a bit….I am looking at a way to display my hummingbird feather I fund…I asked for a sign even a tiny tiny tiny one would do, and as I said the last tine there lay the smallest feather I ever saw…Magick comes in all sizes, I will do something special I think with the feather…

Have a wonderful day evening Sue!
I am so glad you are here and you are my friend 🙂

And I am sure that the little hummingbird feather will be found a beautiful home of your creation.. Magic is all around us when we allow it to enter into our lives.. Often we get stuck in the past and forget to live in the now… I have a smile today also.. With a lighter aura I am sure.. For at last I leg go of that which held me back 🙂 xxxx ❤

I like the Magick..seems it has always been with me, waiting for me to remember 🙂
I am headed off to a tree planting memorial for the ones who have donated organs….. then a day at the Botanical Gardens…(plant sale just happens to be going on 🙂 )
I am looking for inspirations and a decision on what to plant for Earth Day…
leaning towards a Redbud as it is has leaves shaped like hearts and what better way to Honor Gaia and Her sacred ground than fill it with hearts bound in love ……
You Have a wonderfully Magick day….I am and I will take your thoughts with me…
Love you and hugs across the ocean 🙂

This is truly a wonderful post Sue. It’s something I need to be reminded of often and I thank you for the reminder today. Some days no matter how I try, I forget. that is not good, and I am having stress also. So, I’m trying to remove the stressful thoughts and things, and focus on only the good, and I WILL get back to the regular me soon. Each time I let go of one stressful thought, I can feel a string break and a part of me relax, so this puppet only has to continue cutting those strings until the pain goes away. And if you continue to post ideas like this, you will be helping me cut those strings. I hope I didn’t just add to your stress level, because I love you my friend. I want you well and happy, and completely stress free also. Hugs, A.

You didn’t allow replies for today Sue, so I’m going to post one here. I LOVE your song, and I’ll sing it all day, and beyond this day. And on Earth Day I’ll be out and celebrating every live tree we have, while protesting the concrete trees our city leaders think are “nice” replacements for the real ones. When they come up for re-election I’ll be in line to vote them OUT of office and look for someone who believes as I do, that real trees are good for us, and help keep the environment clean. Our Mother Earth is being strangled by what they think of as progress. Each step they take “forward” is actually a mile taken back, and our Mother is being slain. She has tried for so long to provide for us, but how much longer can she struggle? What has this “progress” done to the world and the very life that is necessary to keep us all breathing? Why can’t they open their eyes and see the damage they are doing? Ears that do not hear and eyes that do not see, and Hearts that no longer beat with Love, but allow greed to rule the day.
            Hugs, Angie

It’s such a positive, lovely post. And I agree almost completely with you. All I would say is that those who have suffered some form of emotional disturbance in their younger years may have buried something far out of sight that ‘pulls emotional strings’.

If that is the case then often only professional counselling can bring it to the surface, and much recommended. For if we don’t truly know ourself then it may be a challenge to be truly happy and contented.

And I Paul would be in total agreement having worked in the field of Mental Health its paramount professional help is sought if one gets depressed or has had a traumatic experience which is affecting their well-being..
I have undergone counselling myself in the past and mere fact you can talk and let out all your thoughts is a burden shed.. Many thanks for you lovely response Paul.. I hope you and Jean have a lovely Bright weekend.. 🙂

Love the directions you’re showing here, Sue – compounded bouts of negativity can being down much further than what positivity ca lift us, so shedding negativity by firm positive actions is so productive – the thing about starting a garden of whatever shape or size is that it does work, it takes the mind on so many different bright roads, I so agree…I try to tell all my friends to become bogged down by depressive moods to go and do some gardening and if living in an apartment – start a balcony one – keeps one out of bed during the day, takes one to Nurseries and garden shops, encourages one to plan for colours of blooms or uses of herbs to grew etc etc 🙂

This is so true hun! 🙂

I was forced to relive the most traumatic moments of my life twenty four years ago and was almost destroyed.

It took 24 years of repeated persecution and mind games to break free, but I made it! 🙂

Today I am happier, but still struggling with the after-effects.

I lost everything and everyone that mattered to me turned against me, but in the end I was vindicated and now I know who I can – and must never – trust! 🙂

Love and huge hugs my friend! 🙂

Wonderful messages from you my friend and that great story….I have finally realized most of us have been living life as we go along but not truly experiencing it! There is a big difference. I think many would refer to it as autopilot and it is, but seeing ourselves living life versus really experiencing living life brings it all home. I always loved the quote ” allow life to flow through you and not just around you. It is all about how alive we choose to feel and be…Thanks for your thoughts…Hugs to you…VK

This is such a beautiful story, and creating a garden within to change our perspective and look at life differently, it is so important as we keep facing so many challenges to let go the past and live in the present.

We live life in memories and we are anchored to past incidences and the bad experiences keep dragging and holding us back. It is always difficult to let go old things that we keep collecting and storing, if only we share and spare things we create new opportunities to acquire new things and new ideas into our life.

Life is dynamic and every moment we like or not like, we pass through events and happenings and some are good and some are bad, the cycle of good and bad is such integral part of life, it coexists and we have to cherish the coexistence by knowing the art of handling it and this idea of creating a garden is a wonderful means to handle such situations in life.

    Just love the whole idea…

Beautiful post on developing positive energy adorned with lovely pictures. When there is a choice between positive and negative thoughts why then can’t we choose the former? But when there is a reason like that of the businessman in the example above it can really be tough. What you say is very true – slow deep breathing and focusing on our breath is a lovely way to bring about a change to a positive mindset.

I concentrated on your words there Sue, what struck me the most were the words, that each moment of negativity compounds.
Those words actually can sum up the whole scenario of depression and fear.
The words actually impacted on my current thoughts, the cycle needs to be broken, and only we can do it.

this is so cool, Sue! 12 years ago, when I was living in Plymouth, I attended T’ai Chi/Chi Gung classes run by Choy’s student and partner, Christine. I bought the book, which he signed for me and often go through it, practising the exercises. In Febeuary 2003 I took part in his Chinese New Year course at their Rainbow T’ai Chi school in Ashburton. His stillness and gentle teachings were amazing! It’s just brilliant that you’ve chosen to showcase them in this post. Much of the lessons in this life have been around letting go. Oh we argue and we fight and we try in a myriad of ways to somehow make sense of it all when peace and release may only be found in letting go. We could distract or try to shift the energy with the movies and the books and the gardens in my experience but I’m still trying to understand what all it truly takes to let go. Breathing has always helped, I too tell myself: when I can do nothing else breathing is one thing that I still can. Thanks dear Sue.

Yes I so agree PR, I often think thats it.. Done, I must surely have let go now of all that I held onto internally within our minds.. Its amazing though as we work through our energy shifts what crops up.. Here’s to our continued Deep breaths and Breathing .. I recently viewed an old Alan Watts video and what he said about letting go made me smile… I must find it out to share on a post at some future point.. For I know many will nod in agreement to his thinking 🙂
Love and Blessings PR.. so happy to have you breathing along with me .. 🙂 Hugs ❤ Sue

Excellent point Sue. We can feel bad and we should allow those feelings, but negativity can compound and make us hopeless. This is a great visualization. I can’t wait to try it out!

A warm Spring day which has been hotter than some summer days.. We are being spoiled weather wise right now. A great day to Let Go and BE HAPPY!! 🙂 ❤ Hugs

Such beautiful choices here Sue to dispose of negative thoughts. I love the flowers, but I really love the idea of using the angel’s hand to place my worries. A wonderful share of inspiration. 🙂 ❤

Each of us, carries within us the capacity to change the world in small ways for better or worse. Everything we do and think affects the people in our lives, and their reactions in turn affect others As the effect of a seemingly insignificant word passes from person to person, its impact grows and can become a source of great joy, inspiration, anxiety, or pain. Your thoughts and actions are like stones dropped into still waters, causing ripples to spread and expand as they move outward.. I hope that I can send a few ripples out via the web of life, as we each of us weave the threads together... Welcome to my Sanctuary of Peace and Love... May we each spread our Lights around our World....Sue Dreamwalker
