When the Universe speaks, I Listen! Part One

Sometimes the best laid plans are not made by you, but are the direct guidance of the Universe. Have you ever had that feeling where you just know you have to surrender to the flow and see where it takes you?

Well that’s what last week felt like. I had promised my WP friends I would be back to visit them last weekend .However the Universe had other plans.

DSC01864My own plans were simple ones.. I needed a few days Computer Free to catch up with some unfinished projects.. The first one being a little jacket I made for my Daughter’s Step Daughter’s new baby girl. So technically that makes me a Step Great Gran!  My other knitting project I also finished.

This was a cardigan for myself.

The other projects centred around the allotments and we had already planted seeds in seed trays which were sprouting. But the allotments needed digging which Hubby did, and I set too and helped plant the onion and shallots.

Remember this photo from last year where the old rubbish heap and nettle patch was going to be dug up? Below!

At the Back of the shed the old rubbish heap is going to be levelled. This is where we intend to grow our Butternut squash next year. As the allotment next to us just put his squash on old soil and left them.. They were 3 sizes bigger than ours.. So here they will have room to spread out to their hearts content :-)

Well this is what it looks like now on the photo below.

Another job which needed to be done was to paint the sheds with wood preserve. You can see Hubby busy doing this  one and I did the other. This shed brings a whole new meaning to Lean-too shed lol, It only houses sticks, wire and cloches and nets etc.

The next thing was to clear out the old Strawberry Bed of old plants.. We planted new shoots in the autumn .And made a start to clear out the old Strawberry bed. This will then be the new home for some of my flowers for cut flowers.

Below is the view from the main shed. in the foreground the Raspberry, Blueberries, Red and Black currents, Gooseberries, Blackeberries.  We still have  in the background, Brussels, Purple flowering broccoli and a few Leeks left. And of course a freezer full of goodness..

In the mean time I wrote a poem in collaboration  with Aquileana about Helen of Troy. and emailed her it just before my laptop was set for a scheduled Health Check.. That’s when the Universe thought to have other ideas about my plans..

I mentioned one of my keys was sticking to the computer guy, so the kind man said as it was insured he would send it away.. And So that’s why I have been absent longer than I intended.. But you see the Universe had a plan all along.. And as to that I will reveal in my second part to this post..

Stay tuned!

And its good to be back..

Dear Brad.. thank you so much.. yes many hands make light work as they say.. And the cardigan of mine needed lots of attention so some quiet time was needed.. The plot at the allotments is a large one and we need to keep on top of it or the weeds soon take control lol..
Glad you too have been listening Brad.. when we do, we are never disappointed.. 🙂 And thank you for your most lovely welcome back. 🙂 Sue xx

Welcome back Sue. It is so good to have time to finish the cardigans. I love them, especially the little pink one. Congratulations on the step granddaughter. Your garden plans are so wonderful, and I don’t mind saying I’m so jealous. I remember my own garden on the farm, and even though they are so much work they pay off with so much bounty of goodness it is worth every drop of sweat that goes into them. Now I find myself wanting some fresh vegetables so much I want to rush the season. Time to practice patience for a while.
    Hugs for you Sue, Angie

Yes the allotment is not attached to our garden at home.. I know you call gardens back-yards LOL.. we only call it a back yard when its concrete only .. 🙂 the allotments is about 10 mins walk away.. which is what you may term as communal garden. There are about 100 allotment holders who pay rent for the land we work each year.. 🙂 This land is put aside for that purpose..
You have a beautiful ‘Backyard’ Kim. And yes Spring brings out the can’t wait to grow feeling is us all 🙂 Much love and thank you for dropping by its always so lovely to see you 🙂 xxx Sue

Congratulations on becoming a Step~Great~Gran, Sue ~ what a beautiful gift you created, I’m sure it will be treasured! The allotments are looking great already ~ I’m waiting for warmer days (they are forecast to be coming in about a week) to start planting up my veg pots and raised beds. I agree that it’s better to go along with the Universal flow ~ trying to stick to a rigid plan when we are clearly being told to get out there and do other things can be frustrating and demoralising. My internet involvement has been sketchy for a number of reasons this past couple of years ~ but it’s great to dip back in and one day I may get it together and post more frequently again! 🙂 Loved this peek into your full and active life. Easter Blessings to you and your family! :).

Oh,my sweet Sue,the Universe conspired to unite us today …
I so much enjoyed what we talked and now it’s time to see what the Universe dictated to you to do.First of all congrats “Step Great Gran”,it’s so nice that new life came into your family along with the spring! The pinkish jacket for the little princess is so sweet and so is the hair band with the little ribbon! As for your Cardigan,it’s so classic and beautiful, ideal for the cool spring and autumn days!
Our wise Universe though had more and beneficial plans for you garden plot. You and your hubby put so much manual labour to re-arrange your garden and prepare it to receive the blessed flowers, fruit and veggies!Neat the images that accompany the post and stunning the transformations…
We truly have to listen to the Universe when it speaks. These are the unwritten laws and the undefined voices that direct us …
The world is full of infinite possibilities.Isn’t it ? And so is your work!I’m looking forward to Part II !Broad smiles and huge hugs 🙂 ♡ (◠‿◠✿) ♡, Doda xxx

I am a fairly quick knitter Sheila.. but my own cardigan was left several weeks as I needed quiet uninterrupted time to sort out the banding and neck shaping’s.. as the pattern I followed did so in rows not multi repeats ect for button holes on one side… So I had to write my rows down on a writing pad in a graph as I went along or else if the phone rang lol I would end up loosing where I was… but I did it… I don’t like to be beaten.. and its another test in patience skills 🙂

You do well to listen Sheila… and relaxing is the best way of gathering one’s strength and centre back.. 🙂 Love to you and Happy Easter also.. Hugs Sue ❤

Lovely to see you Val, Oh and if you are visiting the UK… you will love it.. I am pleased you enjoyed my knitting etc.. I am sat at the moment looking through the window at the blackbirds we have two pairs in our garden, both busy building nests in our shrubs.. And you can hear the Universe any time you wish too Val.. All you have to do is find that quiet spot.. close your eyes and listen… Its speaking to our gut intuition all the time… Its just sometimes we are so busy being stressed out by external patterns we miss what its got to say to us.

I think you sat and listened if you planned a trip across the Pond! 🙂 You too enjoy a wonderful Weekend this Eastertime… Love and Hugs<3 Sue xxxx ❤

What a lovely break, getting spend time with nature and nurturing the soil to accept new seeds and see a season of new plants sprouting in front of you, such a nice feeling being with nature and see the plant bear the flowers and fruits. Doing something for the grand children is always a pleasure and nothing can give more pleasure than doing something for nature and child, two wonderful gifts to humankind…

These breaks are a must and it gives the required drive to get the thoughts a fresh lease of life and the words organized to give our creative imagination an impetus…

You have several artistic outlets, so do I, I guess we share that in common.

I love the cardigans. I learned how to crochet, but all I can make are blankets and scarves. You make me want to take a class and learn more! 🙂

You have certainly been a busy beaver Sue, and it looks like you have your work cut out for you for some time. And yes, I live by my gut, when I get a feeling about something, I have to go with it. And more often than not it turns out to be the right decision. BTW I loved your poem on Helen which I saw when I last visited Aquileana’s page. 🙂 xo

Your garden looks like you will be able to plant a lot 😉
I use to call step kids for bonus kids, which I feel sound much better. Enjoy your garden work Sue 🙂

Each of us, carries within us the capacity to change the world in small ways for better or worse. Everything we do and think affects the people in our lives, and their reactions in turn affect others As the effect of a seemingly insignificant word passes from person to person, its impact grows and can become a source of great joy, inspiration, anxiety, or pain. Your thoughts and actions are like stones dropped into still waters, causing ripples to spread and expand as they move outward.. I hope that I can send a few ripples out via the web of life, as we each of us weave the threads together... Welcome to my Sanctuary of Peace and Love... May we each spread our Lights around our World....Sue Dreamwalker
