Earth Day 2014

I have been so busy Living Life I A Spring Day in the Woodsalmost forgot it was Earth Day today until Shamanictracker  left a comment upon my last post, so many thanks to you.

So I quickly browsed on line and what awareness is being put out for this Earth Day 22nd April.  I came across several video’s this first one is to remind those of us who live in the cities to try and make our cities ‘Greener’

Secondly I looked at what I had blogged about last year on Earth Day.. I had written a poem with photos and links , so for those who are new followers to Dreamwalker’s I thought you may like to take a look HERE at my posting of my thoughts last year when I wrote about Gaia…

You can find out the History of how Earth Day began in the 1970’s by visiting the The National Geographic page HERE  where you can find out more about Air Pollution  You can also go to Survival International and see what is happening to the darker side of Brazil, as money is poured into the World Cup this year, see how its Indigenous peoples are suffering.

And thirdly we can all change the world by simply altering our ways of being.. Learning to live in harmony with each other and ALL living things.. Learning to respect and take care of our environment..

Sending you all Love and Peace..

Happy Earth Day everyone

Earth day seems to have passed without any mention in the news or media – I guess they were too busy with war, disasters and death.

    Love and hugs sweetie!!! 🙂

Dear Cat… Yes I totally agree, EVERY day should be Earth Day.. Alberta maybe involved in oil. but I know you are involved in LIFE, and Living!, we can not take on the Sins of the world..

And each day is a brand NEW day… We create our own Gods… some worship Money as theirs.. Others worship LIFE.. Money is a tool we created.. It all depends upon what sort of Life we are living with the Tools we have created 😉 and where our HEARTS are.. You do not need a teacher Cat… Just listen to your Heart.. Her beat is sound! 😉 :-D.. ENJOY… and LIVE! LIFE! to the MAX…. and stop looking over your shoulder at the past..If there is one lesson I would teach.. Its this single one.. 🙂 xxxx Hugs my sister xxx

    As
    bloody killing clubs rise
    ending baby seals lives,
    my heart doth decry
    comfort me?
    As
    ships trawl for whales
    my understanding fails
    blood lust prevails
    comfort me?
    As
    concrete coldly smothers
    Mother Earth it covers
    death throe shudders
    comfort me?
    As
    Mankind was first born
    from Adams rib torn
    woe the day dawn
    comfort me?
    Can
    you feel my despair?
    I beg you,
    have a care
    I cry daily, beware
    please,
    comfort me…

Dear Pen, thank you so so much for this wonderful poem.. Yes a little like my last years lament about all the things mankind still is doing to his fellow beings and animal kingdom.. I too cry far too much.. But I also know deep down the awareness is breaking through to many.. and its gathering momentum..
I look forward to the day when more are aware and the Mass Consciousness gathers to it even more momentum.. That day we really will celebrate.. Because Gaia will sort out the wheat from the chaff… She will not allow us to destroy her… ..
Much love to you Pen.. your voice is heard.. and I know all of our hearts are now starting to beat as ONE… for we are at last remember WHO WE ARE..
Blessings to you my lovely friend xxx

I just knew my Momma Goose’s eggs would hatch for Earth day, but no…*sigh* 🙂
everyday is Earth Day, even if you just walk barefoot in the soil or grass, take time to stand still ( or sit) and listen to the sounds of Nature…
My day was uncluttering more…to open more of the space to connect with outside
working on my greenhouse, and a space for one I think I will build with recycled pallets for my seeds and transplants, my cuttings are still thriving so I shall hall many shrubs to transplant in a couple months…
This morning as I was doing my Gratitude Journal, I heard the strangest sound, I grabbed my camera for I thought it was mom’s babies hatching..but…as I saw the cats on the geese swimming pools ( they love playing in water ) and the geese were all facing East, the deer stood still too, and right in the middle was a young male Peacock…YES I had my camera and the battery didn’t die on me LOLs
he took off in the woods, so in my night gown ( I was writing and drinking coffee so I wasn’t dressed yet LOLS) I followed to get some photos ..not the best but I got some of my morning adventure as I turned to come back, a lovely black cat came to visit, she comes every once in awhile to sit with me and allow me to pet her 🙂
now as I read your post I realized I didn’t write anything for Earth, but I just lived to the fullest in it…
learned another lesson, and another thread unraveled and I saw more of what I need to see
You are good for me Sue 🙂 you make me think, you make me smile, and you make feel everything will be okay..a true friend’s gift….
I will sit here a little longer enjoying the quiet as the sun climbs higher and turns this cool morning into the heat of the 90’s today…which means watering again 🙂
I am so grateful to have my own well…the water is clear and clean as it is from the Trinity Aquifer ( I love that it is Trinity )
Okay…rambling story over…I hope you are well..I miss our chats …but I know you know what I am working through..and it makes me smile for I know you are there for me as I am for you…
Take Care My Friend You Matter Much more than you know

I guess Earth day can be any day really, all we have to do is to think green and positive, perhaps plant a tree or something? The Earth needs looking after a lot better than what it has over the last two hundred years, and it gets worse with industry raping the planet of all of its minerals, ripping everything out at a vast rate, where will it all end, imploding maybe? 😦 Think optimistically, that’s something that we all can do 🙂 Have a lovely rest of Wednesday Sue and thank you for a wonderful posting, I have enjoyed this one 🙂

Yes Earth Day was busy like any other day being my Birthday making me a ripe age of … ripe for what I ask … perhaps ripe to recognise that we have gone too far and that we need to look back and find out how we can back track and put back some if not all we have taken from our beloved home, that once plentiful planet that has become so depleted. Every kingdom of our home has suffered at our hands! Please God we will all learn that we have gone a step too far and by next 22nd April we will have begun the restoration of Joy to Mother Earth. Love, David

    Hi there Sue…

This is a very meaningful post…
You are right in so many way about the importance of taking care of our own planet. (By the way, I think we should not be so coy in when it comes to call it “Home”).
I particularly enjoyed the video about those alternative- ideas proposed to save The Earth. –
Bottom line: your posts is a reflection of yourself as an engaged and compassionate woman. I love it.

    Best wishes, Aquileana 😛

I made no reference to Earth Day at Petals because to me every day is Earth Day. This thing with Holidays I have stepped away from. Every day I live Easter, every day I celebrate Christmas. Every day I honor Mother and my Connection with Her. Just this past Easter, I really and I mean really forgot it was a Holiday even though I saw other people celebrating. Holidays mean nothing to me, Sue. I don’t know if this makes sense. To me living in Unity with Mother and Spirit every day, that is a cause for a Holiday. And so this is how I choose to live LIFE. I have my little rituals and my ways as I go about my day, to bring to consciousness to my awarenss of that Unity.

Great Post and I thank you for posting it. I particularily love the first photo. I sense faeries in it. Or on that place you took the photo. (((HUGS))) Amy

I know exactly what you mean.. I too was that busy I forgot.. But each day should be Earth Day… Every day should be Christmas too.. when we Give.. so many of us forget the Gifts of Mother Earth who gives us daily the very breath we breathe… You are a wonderful Lady Amy. ( I took that photo last year when walking through the woods..) Its just been waiting in my camera for an airing 🙂 And it wouldn’t surprise me if there was some faeries or even some elves were not peeking behind some tree.. 🙂 it was a magical day as I remember.. 🙂 xxx Thank you so much for taking the time to read..

I like it and I also read your post from last year. You give such a rounded view of all the issues. The way I see it is that every day should be an “Earth Day”. As for myself, I consider myself an extension of nature by the fact that I’m a human being, and that one I will also die and step into nature’s realm. This is how I have reconciled myself with nature; I simply think we’re ‘inseparable’, in all the sense of the word, both physically and metaphysically.

Your grasp of us being ALL as One is accurate.. We are ALL connected in ways many can not see.. And yet others totally understand we are not separate.. And I agree each day is Earth Day.. We should go out each day and give respect to the wonders she brings us.. Our Very Breath we take for granted is Natures Gift.. what we breathe in she breathes out.. We are One! 🙂

Dear Sue…Thank you for this Earth Day post and for the beautiful video on healing the earth. It is a good reminder that we have the power to offer healing even when we alone and feeling politically powerless or overwhelmed. It is an empowering reminder that gives me hope for the future!! Kim

Yes Kim, I am pleased you took time to view the last video.. It shows we are far from powerless.. And as well as practical things to save our Earth, we also have the power of prayer and our thoughts are the greatest tools ever given us.. We for the most part have just forgotten how to use our minds… We have allowed ourselves for so long to be brain-washed into being complacent and docile .. We accept what is thrown our way..
But people are now waking up more, not only to the power within them. but how over the years we have been manipulated into our current belief systems..
I hope as we wake up more, we can shed more light upon others…
Thank you dear Kim for taking the time to come and comment.. I appreciate your visits greatly 🙂 xxx Sue

This is another beautiful post and tribute to Earth Day, Sue and I’m sending my wishes a little late! 🙂 Earth Day really should be everyday and everyone should be doing their part, even small, to take care of Mother Earth…the other day I watched a man toss a cigarette out of his truck and if it were easier logistically, I might have said something. It just infuriated me. What are people thinking? Or I suppose some have no regard for our planet, just like many have no regard for the human life. Well, I hope through your posts and other resources the awareness is spreading like wild fire and we can see some positive things in the near future. Not only for Mother Earth, but for her inhabitants…thanks for sharing, my friend, and have a lovely start to your week! Hugs! xo

Pity we cant accept Earth day as an everyday natural event.
I think that awareness of our affinity to the earth is slowly awakening in many peoples minds, albeit in a small way, but every little helps and if all mankind can acknowledge the need to treat the earth as part of our family, then we can achieve much.

I agree Ian.. Everyday should be Earth Day.. If we all just treated Earth and her resources as our family, we would not keep taking all the time, but learn to give back… I am living in hope Ian… more are at last in awareness of this.. 🙂

Sigh. I missed Earth Day too it seems (although maybe I didn’t this time – something seems familiar!) goodness knows where I’ve been! Reading your posts this morning Sue has inspired me to create an indoor water feature with miniature plants and trees and things… they say inspiration strikes at the strangest of times! However, I’m not at all green-fingered, so if this project gets off the ground, and looks remotely good I’ll take a photo or two… bring a bit of nature inside, so to speak.

Just sighted your exhortation to hug a tree in connection with Earth Day, and the fascinating video presentation. I am sitting near my plants here as I write this, Sue; seeing your presentation and savouring the beauty of flora and fauna around me, I can, without equivocation, state that divinity is right here in the orderly manifestation of nature. No need to go experiencing it in places of worship. What needs to be preserved and worshipped is all around us.. Sending u good wishes and a few hugs through the grand medium of trees and flowers we all share…raj.

Each of us, carries within us the capacity to change the world in small ways for better or worse. Everything we do and think affects the people in our lives, and their reactions in turn affect others As the effect of a seemingly insignificant word passes from person to person, its impact grows and can become a source of great joy, inspiration, anxiety, or pain. Your thoughts and actions are like stones dropped into still waters, causing ripples to spread and expand as they move outward.. I hope that I can send a few ripples out via the web of life, as we each of us weave the threads together... Welcome to my Sanctuary of Peace and Love...
