Green Grow your Garden Oh!

Green is a combination of the colours yellow and blue, each of which brings its own unique energy to the overall feeling of the colour green. Garden 1

Blue brings calm and peace, while yellow radiates liveliness and high levels of energy. Like a marriage  between these two very different colours, green is a unifier of opposites, offering both the excitement of yellow and the tranquillity of blue.

It energizes blue’s passivity and soothes yellow’s intensity, inspiring us to be both active and peaceful at the same time. It is a mainstay of the seasons of spring and summer, thus symbolizing birth and growth.

Green is one of the reasons that spring brings so much excitement and activity. As a visual harbinger of the end of winter, green stems and leaves shoot up and out from the dark branches of trees and the muddy ground, letting us know that it’s safe for us to come out too.

My Garden in the past

In this way, green invites us to shed our layers and open ourselves to the outside world, not in a frantic way, but with an easy going excitement that draws us outside just to sniff the spring air. Unlike almost any other colour, green seems to have its own smell, an intoxicating combination of sun and sky—earthy, bright, and clean.  Like new mown Grass..In the best-case scenario, it stops us in our tracks and reminds us to appreciate the great experience of simply being alive

Green balances our energy so that, in looking at it, we feel confident that growth is inevitable. It also gives us the energy to contribute to the process of growth, to nurture ourselves appropriately, without becoming overly attached to our part in the process. Green reminds us to let go and let nature do her work, while at the same time giving us the energy to do our own

May you each continue to Grow as Mother Earth pushes us all up through the layers of negative Dust we have accumulated, to find our own new shoots of Green Growth.

So beautiful, Sue, your garden photo’s and your green descriptive words, to see green shoots, new growth, it feeds the soul, also gives a fresh outlook after the dying back of Winter. ‘Tis a natural thing I know, the dying, to feed the earth, renew and let the young plants thrive later. Nature has so many lessons to teach us, if only we’d understand and take note. Green is the colour I have in my bathroom, quiet time, bath time, to soak and relax, clothed in natures greenness. Love and light, always. xPenx

Dear Pen, thank you, Yes Spring is here officially today.. Though its brought a nip in the wind.. 🙂 Its lovely to see the shoots starting to sprout now in the hedgerows. The lawn got its first hair cut last week, and the smell of it.. Nothing beats the fresh clean smell of Green grass..
A good colour choice for your bathroom… Nice… some candles and relaxation…
Thank you Pen for wonderful response… Hugs and love Sue xox

How lovely! A whole post dedicated to Green!! I was, for some rather weird reason, not allowed to wear green when I was little(funny since I have green eyes), so this has stuck in my head, until a friend bought me a green dress and told me it was time for me to “take back the power” and start wearing green! 🙂 Yaaay! My favorite shades of green are mint green and apple green! I loved your post Sue! I agree, green is the color of spring and new life and happiness! 🙂 Green is for Growth! Yaay! 🙂

Yes in the olden days lol, even my Mum used to say Green was unlucky… And I remember the saying.. Blue and Green never to be seen… And yet I look at how the blue of sky and the green of hills marry and its perfection to behold.. I am happy you are now wearing Green.
I know when I was asked what is my favourite colour for some questionnaire on a blog award once.. I had to stop and really think… And I really have no one favourite for each hold their own magic, and my wardrobe is multicoloured .. Mint Green, now who can fail not to enjoy its colour or aroma and taste.. 🙂 Perfect.. xxxx

I often miss my garden. I have a postage stamp size one now, but even that is neglected and yet it is already showing forth new green.

No green on my side of the pond DW….Only white as I am still buried under about two feet of snow. Just shoveled four more inches that fell overnight and a possible new storm is being watched for next week…Beyond sick of it at this point. It almost leaves one feeling frantic and claustrophobic..If one word were to be issued to cover all we have gone through the last two years on this journey it would have to be ‘patience’! We have had our patience tested beyond our liking…It’s moments like these we must concentrate on all the wonderful things we have to be grateful for in our lives! Soooo much. Love your peaceful garden….Enjoy it for me..VK xo

Sorry to hear the white stuff VK is still fluttering down… Our Spring maybe short lived as its gone much colder with temps dropping with high winds again… I can only imagine you are going stir crazy, I think its one of the worst winters on record any where… You with snow.. UK with floods..
Once thing that will melt the snow VK is our hearts.. Keep shining your patience… I have a feeling we may be all shaken if not a little stirred shortly…
Keep warm.. and take care out there… Warm Hugs .. DW xxx

Beautiful garden! I currently live (for a while, not forever) in a very dry, brown, dusty climate. Desert heat too. So I miss the Green of the Earth so much, and the rain. Thank you for sharing this and bringing a bit of Green to my day! Blessings!

Hi MJ, I was surprised when I went to Sri Lanka just how much green there was 🙂
As for Black.. I wear lots of black, teamed with other colours.. But Black implies self-control and discipline, independence and a strong will, and giving an impression of authority and power.
But also its a protective colour also .. Black absorbs negative energy. It is useful to carry something black with you to protect you from harm and negativity when travelling or when going about your usual daily activities outside your home… Gem stones which are Black such as Jet are protective stones .. Obsidian is another Black stone which is protective and absorbs neg energy… But you need to cleanse this stone regular. a site I found with this gem stone is here MJ, if you are interested in Gem stones..

Indivudual colors can have intense effects… there is more than the mere wavelength of those photons! Our minds engage with them on levels many do not yet see. You see this interaction Sue, your clear vision sees through the Green and into the heart of the matter. Thank you.

Richard, thank you for your most gracious comment.. Working as I did with painting my Auragraphs I would interpret colour often, and I was never let down with my own intuitive thoughts to those when I looked up others thoughts on colour and meaning.. So I thank you with big smiles upon your comment, because colours have and mean more to me than we see with our naked eye… For instance today I was feeling tired so I chose to put on a red cardigan. For the Red’s energy level… It must have worked as I have spent the morning baking! 🙂

Each of us, carries within us the capacity to change the world in small ways for better or worse. Everything we do and think affects the people in our lives, and their reactions in turn affect others As the effect of a seemingly insignificant word passes from person to person, its impact grows and can become a source of great joy, inspiration, anxiety, or pain. Your thoughts and actions are like stones dropped into still waters, causing ripples to spread and expand as they move outward.. I hope that I can send a few ripples out via the web of life, as we each of us weave the threads together... Welcome to my Sanctuary of Peace and Love... May we each spread our Lights around our World....Sue Dreamwalker
