Today is remembrance Sunday Let us never forget those whose job of work it is costs them the ultimate sacrifice.. Below is a poem I wrote a while back with an additional last verse just added.. Remember Them
~Remember Them.~
Remember them of yesterday..
Remember them that fell today,
Remember them in faraway lands
Remember them for they too had plans
Remember Them…
~~~
Remember the old soldiers of World war one..
The Great War to end all wars that was won..
Remember too all the battles that still rage
As History turns yet another page..
Remember them..
~~~
Remember too all who serve,
With medals adorned and well deserved.
The medics who brave their lives to retrieve
Those brave soldiers who too they grieve
Remember them.
~~~
Remember too the power of thought
For battles are won and battles are fought
With Vibes of Peace from Deep inside
So its up to us to change the tide
Remember Them
~~~
If we are to change our History’s Blot
Then Unity and Love must be our Plot
Remember we are One who have much power
Remember to Love
This is OUR Eleventh Hour
Remember!
Remember Our Future Generations
Remember Them!

Howsoever wars come about they are not the fault of the brave people who have little choice other than to be exposed to the ultimate sacrifice. Lovely words!

I think we can all thank those brave men and women who have sacrificed their lives both in the past and in the present. It must be so hard for the families left behind..

Hi Beverly, yes I can not even begin to put myself in the serviceman’s wives shoes who say goodbye to their love ones not knowing if they will see them safe again.. It puts our lives into perspective. As does the Millions upon Millions who have given their lives in serving of their countries around the world..

Yes! Love it. 🙂
I’m can’t stand war, but the people who fight in them often have absolutely no say in their role: the sacrifices they make, the love they give, time away from family, and more.
Thank you for this tribute. A perfect way to celebrate Veteran’s Day here in the US, too.

While I abhor war Cyndi, We have to honour those who have lost their lives in war, on all sides of the fences… So I thank you for liking the poem 🙂 and I pray we see the futility of fighting one another.. and start to embrace Peace

Thanks, Sue.
Thank you for always thinking of the WORLD.
It’s so important to remember… but it’s so hard in our individualistic society. I mean it’s RARE. Rare to find people who really care.
That’s why I wanted to thank you.

For many, it’s easier to forget than to remember. It’s sad how in today’s fast-paced and self-serving world we loose sight of what makes our lives significant. Remembering and honoring is the least we can do.

Yes very true Eric, having a grandparent wounded in the first World War brings it home to you how they suffered… And an Uncle who suffered years later from shell shock in the second world war… We must never loose sight of the horrors of war and yet at the same time we seem to forget how futile it is, for we learn nothing by them, only more deaths and heartbreak for all concerned… While those in their ivory towers give commands!

I am sorry to hear your energy is still low Michelle, sending you my healing thoughts.. The Girls in the video are a new group of singers specially put together to raise awareness on Poppy Day, Hence their name Poppy Girls,, each one has a parent or relative serving in the armed forces… There was a beautiful moment when they sang this live on Remembrance day, the little girl singing solo thought her Dad was on his ship and wouldnt be home until January.. He got special leave and they flew him in so he could watch her sing, She ran across the stage straight into his arms crying when she saw him… He went back to sea today Wed, so will be away until January…
I cried too 🙂

That’s a beautiful poem and the last verse sounds “urgent”…but it is, isn’t it?
I read this book about Atlantis…and the 5 phases of it..and how it was destroyed each time because of the “folly” of the Atlanteans…I look at the world today…my hope is that we remember that ultimately this physical world is just an illusion or at the very least..we definitely won’t be taking what we have here after we’re gone…

Yes Shree I have to agree with you, we are indeed creating that ‘Folly’ again we seem to get to a certain point then destroy ourselves….. It makes you laugh if you think about it.. How hard we work, strive and go about collecting ‘Things’ to own as we gather unto ourselves possessions of material things, and often we presume to own others we go to war to conquer and rule. Its a sad state of affairs when you think about our perception of this Illusion..
And when we move from this world, we take nothing with us but our memories and that which we have learnt and held within our hearts…. Laughable…. Much Love for you kind comment … I am sure we still have not learnt and the lessons will continue until we reach a point of no return…
