Friday Facts~ Privacy and Poverty

I will be posting in this new header  from time to time I have created called Friday Facts.. But in it I want to bring awareness to particular facts that have touched me in some way. And these stories could touch our Hearts by making us Smile, Laugh or Cry…. I hope there will be more smiles than tears.. But sometimes I just can not sit by and do nothing. So I am adding my thoughts which I hope will also maybe just make those who happen upon my pages to ‘Think’! a little deeper as to the plight of others around our world as we venture from our own bubbles to view the world in a different Light.

Today I read several stories on WP and in my email box which deserve some attention.  First I signed yet another petition, this one I had no trouble in signing is this ~

Quote: This 29 year-old analyst just gave up his whole life — his girlfriend, his job, and his home — to blow the whistle on the US government’s shocking PRISM program — which has been reading and recording our emails, Skype messages, Facebook posts and phone calls for years. end Quote.

If you want to read more about how you can stand with Edward Snowden then go here

~~~
Second, earlier this week I caught a very powerful clip of music which has a very powerful message..This was first written by Bob Dylan and was a protest to Cold War arms build up of the 60’s. Here it is sung by Ed Sheeran  who interprets the Song beautifully in its presentation in http://www.one.org/international/  to highlight this years G8 Summit, in a Protest Song.
If our Politicians spent as much Money, Time and effort directing it to HELP the world instead of Destroying it, then we could indeed Help stop the suffering of millions of people around our world.. So please listen to the lyrics of this Song entitled Masters of War
Masters of War
On the 17 and 18th June, is to be held the G8 summit at Enniskillen, County Fermanagh,Northern Island at the Lough Erne golf resort.
Among other things the International leaders will  be discussing World Poverty, a fact is that around One in eight people in the world will go to bed hungry tonight. That’s 870 million people
There are so many things I could say about what I think about a group of Leaders who effectively are not in touch with the REAL World’s problems .In fact I will lead you to a Blog which has far more skill at informing you in detail over at Learning from Dogs with Pauls  post entitled G8 Madness .
And leave you with one more powerful Song. The Ghost of Tom Joad .
Elvis Costello and Mumford & Sons
    Cool! Love it….The more we can get people to see things as they REALLY are then we will make progress. Good job DW…The Ed Snowden story breaks my heart because they will not be happy until they have made him pay(probably with his life) for exposing what they are doing. If we don’t back these hero’s we will have let them down. Same for Bradley manning. Over here in the U.S. they are vilifying Snowden on the news 24/7. He’s a traitor, he’s a felon, he needs to be put to death. It is outrageous and disgusting. It is THEY who should be prosecuted for crimes!!!! Oh dear, don’t get me started….thanks DW. Have a great weekend my friend…Still raining here, 3 weeks straight now. Everybody’s gardens are dying. Sound familiar??? ughhhhh…..VK
      Hi VK, thank you for that wonderful comment… I know exactly what you mean about getting started lol, as we wish to voice and show others the injustices which go on in the world.. The G8 it seems is about to set its agenda to speaking about conflicts and war… But then we knew that one was coming didnt we? … Peace in one hand while supplying war aids in another… dont get me started LOL….. My weekend was a working one, but enjoyable.. and I hope also you too enjoyed a peaceful relaxing one.. Love and Blessings ~Sue xx
    Unfortunately helping the needy or developing instead of destroying does not yield the same profit margins, I mean the whole world revolves around money and let’s face it, if one is without then who cares? Not the governments and so called do-gooders of this world, oh no they only look after their own pockets, after all they live in a completely different set of circumstances to the rest of us, and I guess we at the grass roots level had better get used to it, as I do not see any changes on the horizon. Sorry for the pessimism Sue but the negativity is always a constant, and finding a solution is almost impossible in a world that thrives on greed. Maybe one day this will change but when? 😦
    I like your idea for a Friday facts page, it sounds great 🙂
      Thank you Andro, yes on the surface it may appear not many care.. But thats because of the onesided view we are being shown via the media networking side of life.. There are many out there who are caring who do care and who are making a difference in our world.. Its these peoples caring we are not shown… That doesn’t sell news.. I agree that many ‘So called’ Do-gooders! look after number one first.. And I was pleased as my hubby pointed out that some of those who cream off profit for their own unscrupulous uses using our hearts to reap in money for charity coarse’s are now being exposed… I feel that many more such criminals will soon be exposed as the ‘Light’ always reveals the Dark.. 🙂 Many thanks Andro for your most generous reply … I hope the Changes start soon too… It all begins with US.. you and I.. my friend… for we are the society and if we want society to change, we then have to look at the means of changing our selves..
      Love and Blessings
    Sue, you had some really powerful subjects here. The number of people without enough food is terrible especially in light of how much is wasted in the first world. There is no reason this should be so. True the planet could not afford to feed everyone the way some people eat in my country, the US, but we can feed everyone a healthy diet.
    I too signed the petition, this isn’t the first time the whistle blower was punished instead of those carrying out illegal activities, I hope he is released soon and can return to the life he deserves.
    I am shocked by the article from Ireland about the G8. The money spent to create those de als could have been better spent, and the reason for it makes me angry. These people should get out in the real world and talk to the people. They are so far removed from what is going on how can they ever be counted on to make the decisions the world so desperately needs right now.
    But, I loved your choice in music, the Dylan song is very powerful.
      Yes Lois money is no object it seems when we see it wasted upon projects such as these, and yet worthwhile projects of Real need often get sidetracked and refused due to so called ‘lack of funds’… Thank you for signing the petition Lois.. We will eventually get the real world working together as we expose those who feed off the World via their profit making schemes Exposed for the parasites they are…. Harsh words I know… but so few have so much while the many have so little…
      Love and Blessings..
    Hi hun!
    I signed the petition and forwarded to all my friends when it popped up from either 38 degrees or Avaaz – I forget which – as this guy has exposed the beginnings of a global Police State.
    The Stazi would have loved the powers the Western Governments are taking unto themselves!!! 😦
    Love and hugs!
    I caught the news item about the Whistle blower, Sue, brave man, .for he must have know the hornets nest he would stir up by his talking, but still he did it. We need more to stand and be counted methinks. I hope and pray the publicity helps him get his life back. … Poverty, and hunger are two of the most vilest words in the English language, but it seems no-one wants to take them on. The organisations seem top heavy to me, the need is there yet they move so slowly. We all feel your frustration Sue, and many must, like myself be donating every month to Charities that are growing in numbers daily. BUT there has to come a day (sooner rather than later) when the Leaders of the Richest Countries in the World come to agreement that these horrific situations of deprivation and starvation must come to an end, be no more, for this is the 21st Century not the Dark Ages. Love and light to you… xPenx
      yes Pen, we would think in the 21st century that such suffering would have ended.. But one needs to open ones eyes to who is ruling the countries and its not always the governments…
      If you have a couple of hours to spare Pen sometime… then Youtube the film ‘Thrive’ and watch… right to the end… your eyes I know are already open… but more still will be revealed… 🙂
    I think Friday Facts is a great idea and look forward to your additions. This is a very powerful start.
    A great blog idea Sue, so many subjects yet each requiring deep consideration, one point that you made stands out clearly, that is that at G8, the subject always seems to focus on conflicts and war, instead of on poverty and peace
    Peace to you dear Sue
Each of us, carries within us the capacity to change the world in small ways for better or worse. Everything we do and think affects the people in our lives, and their reactions in turn affect others As the effect of a seemingly insignificant word passes from person to person, its impact grows and can become a source of great joy, inspiration, anxiety, or pain. Your thoughts and actions are like stones dropped into still waters, causing ripples to spread and expand as they move outward.. I hope that I can send a few ripples out via the web of life, as we each of us weave the threads together... Welcome to my Sanctuary of Peace and Love... May we each spread our Lights around our World....Sue Dreamwalker
