What Tribe do you belong to?

FoundingFathersWe are all still journeying along our paths each of us searching for our Individual identity, which is part of being Human. All of us wanting to be accepted, all clambering to fit into some established niche .. Each of us looking to find that tribe in which we are feel at home with. Be it through our religious beliefs, Groups, or friends we hang out with.

I look around at the younger generation as they hang around in their hooded sweat-tops and baseball caps…. they too are searching for their identity..And yet they hide their faces under caps and hoods.. Many of my generation tut and condemn, thinking they are up to no good.. But for many it’s a dress code of feeling part of that group in which they want to belong.. Just as in my era it was Mods and Rockers.. Each still are searching for that Tribe to belong too.. For all of us are still searching to fit within that Jigsaw puzzle of life I go on about. Old and Young alike as we search for our Tribe.

Now more than ever people are searching, wondering and questioning ‘What is this all about?’ This long slog that many find themselves in as their lives seems unadventurous and lacking in purpose as they work away at providing a living. Or for those with no job prospects that feeling of worthlessness, with no end in sight.

I was interested in seeing how quickly the Young banded together last summer in the riots here in the UK. Which soon spread from City to City.. When the youngsters who had joined in with looting were interviewed and asked why?.. I remember one saying, ‘Because it made me feel alive, I was part of something and doing something..’ Another fact was that many who looted were from Good Social backgrounds, those who had plenty, they were not all the out of work teenagers and trouble makers, many joined in because suddenly they were drawn in and started to feel alive and a part of something.

Many have lost their purpose as they feel lost and unloved.. We have just had Valentine’s Day.. We should make every day a special Day of Love, not just one day a year to remember those we love..

When I started to write I had no intention of going down this track at all… But like all the words I write I go with my instincts, so I will see where this is taking me, for each post I do takes me ever further on my own journey of discovery.

We have so lost our identity, our way of being.. We have so lost that LOVE in the world.

We are living in a climate where emotions are ignited like a tinder box.. But they are not of Love. We see this escalating all over the world as people are changing as this world is changing. Emotions are running high and we see people challenging systems of control. As they want their Freedoms and reforms. So they are going out into the streets and joining a revolution of change as they seek to air their views in protests.

The world is seeing such reactions again in Greece as the economy around the world is also about to go through its own changes.. For change it must.. Money has become the ruler of this elite world of Greed and control and the world is beginning to see that Greed and reject it as they are starting to use their voices and join together.. The monetary systems are collapsing and they will…Even I who was no good at maths at school can see that we cannot print our way out of a recession..

While I do not for one moment condone any form of violence.. People are sensing that Change is happening.. Time speeding, Weather altering etc. Many things lurking in the background which in past years were instigated in getting us out of recession as well as reducing the population are being manipulated at the ready.. Many I speak to who have no concept of The Earth Changes are saying this world cannot carry on this way..And they are feeling the changes within themselves as the sense something in the air, and within themselves as their instincts are once again kicking in.. Leading them to relocate, searching for new direction, thinking it will change with a new job, new relationship whatever, but sensing that Time is running out. And what can we do about it?

I have seen my own readership here on WordPress grow and we come across many like minded people who are beginning to join together in their views and thinking… Sometimes our own efforts will put us into contact with those like minded souls, at other times it seems as if circumstances beyond our control puts us in touch with our future Tribe members as synchronicity takes hold..

I have faith that there are many members of my tribe out there, working away diligently everyday.. They may not have a Blog to reach out to subscribers like yourselves. But they are achieving the same aims.. They are spreading Light around our world. By caring and giving and being thankful..

This is the Tribe we should all subscribe too.. As Lightworker Warriors, we all have personal battles we have come through, we all will probably have many more to overcome.. But in joining together in Unity of Thought. By adding our Light of Love and care into the world we give our world a rainbow of hope. As we each add our own particular brand of Light, our own colour.. Whether that be through our Art, our Poems, or by a smile, or a gesture of generosity of unselfishness.. Giving of ourselves in service to others..

We are the Rainbow Warriors and we are the Ones here and Now to help our World and ourselves Change..

Your only obligation in any lifetime is to be true to yourself.

You got that right DW….Many are completely lost because their lives have been taken away from them. They not only don’t know who they are, they have never been allowed to be free to find themselves let alone BE themselves. I find the kids who have checked into the spiritual side of living are doing okay now but that is being discouraged by schools etc. They are brainwashing younger and younger now. Kids don’t stand a chance any longer unless they are able to break free of the control. Thank goodness we will be leaving all this behind soon. i would so like the children be happy for a change, not tormented so badly they are spaced out on drugs to get away from it all…We must have patience for soon all will change and all will be right in the world. Until such time we must stay in our tribes where we can be loved and appreciated and understood for who we are….Thanks DW. Good one as you always do 🙂 Be well and stay in the light….VK

Hi VK, yes its the children who are that next generation who will pick up the pieces and they are the ones who need to nurtured and loved and be shown a different world to the one of greed which we have all become so accustomed to… They have grown up within our society not knowing anything different than a throw-away world.
Let us not throw our children away with labels, but see beneath that they too are struggling with their selves and the energy shifts… As many attach themselves within their various Groups with peer pressure to chose an identity .. Not all making wise choices.. But with love and proper guidance, many will find their right path.. But they as all of us do Need Loving..
Thanks VK, always love your comments 🙂

Well written Sue – how has it become that we are made to fear our own children???

They are the future, yet they are labelled scum and worse and taught that the only way they can get ANYTHING in this world is by stealing, mugging and killing!

What world are we giving them to inhabit when they too become adults???

    Love and hugs!

Yes exactly Prenin,,, what world indeed are we leaving them Full Stop!… We have become fearful of our children, because they no longer hold respect.. Because we have neglected them to fend for themselves in many areas of life.. They are the forgotten ones, they are not catered for when leaving school.. Only last evening a programme showed how a young man had spent 3 yrs in apprenticeship then after his apprenticeship was up and government funding ran out.. He was out of a job.. and his skills he had learnt were no longer deemed important, as he said he was applying for every job going to different companies who didn’t have the courtesy to answer his and others applications.. NO RESPECT! Again..
Business are struggling with finances, which we know, so who gets the cut backs the work force.. And who and what is causing all of these financial struggles. Where by families need both parents to pay the mortgage and taxes to put food on tables and heating bills etc.. Let us trace it all back down the line of command.. and see the root of it.. M. O. N. E. Y. And that Greed Tool of Interest rates is only now reverberating around the EU nations as loans cannot be paid back.. Local government cut back yet more and Yet Tell me.. Who is still getting their big Fat bonuses? And yet the taxpayer has bailed them out! …. Yes Those who are under a different Ruling system it seems from the rest of us..
Sometimes Prenin my dear friend, you who understands much.. It is those Tribes I would if I could wage war with.. But then I would be only adding to the negative pool… So I send my ~Peace into their hearts and Tolerance.. and know that someday soon, those whose lives are ruled by Money their days are soon to be numbered..
Many thanks and I did go off on rant.. but I do get cross about how our Young ones are treated.. And folk wonder why they act as they do ~Sue

This is so true. I am looking, also – still at my advanced age – for my tribe. I have wandered through many tribes & felt I belonged but not fully. I’ve felt not part of, separate. I wondered was it within me, this problem of not belonging fully.

I agree re the dress code of the young & all the tutting & so on of “our folk”. It’s just a style of dress…

Love it when you said when you started writing you didn’t mean to go down that path – that happens to me too! 🙂

I think my friend, its not really a tribe at all we seek… We are looking for that place of belonging.. that place of love… we look externally all the time to find where we fit.. And if we could look really look it was inside of us all the time.. For I AM who I seek.. as we look for who we really are! ~Love and Peace to you my friend xxx

Hi Jo, yes even as we grow older we are still young at heart, still seeking the same as those teenagers who think they wrote the rule books.. We were younger once upon a time.. and understand how lonely it can feel at times when no one seems to understand you.. We are all the same.. all still seeking to be heard and trying to understand those feelings which over power our thoughts.. We are all of us One and the same.. but some are more well worn than others 🙂 I would debate if we are any wiser.. But we have been there and worn the T-Shirt.. 😉

Christy, Thank you for understand that.. and I intend to poke a little more in future posts 😉 .. We have to wake up to what is around us and understand WE are the ones we have been waiting for to open up the doors and seek the answers.. and we have to help ourselves understand we are in this together.. WE are all part of that community.. All of us need to start and open their eyes and hearts and live from a greater understanding that we are not seperate.. We just perceive we are, as we have got indoctrinated into our own little places/boxes of comfort zones… as we label them and think ourselves as the only ones who know better.. when in fact.. None of us are any better than anyone else.. For we are ALL One.. Equal.. We have to start and change our mind sets.. And live and love from our hearts as we heal the old wounds and stop judging others Least we be judged ourselves!

Thanks Eclipse my dear.. Yes that is it, that is the ‘Real Key’ LOVE!.. Pure and simple.. something we have lost as EGO has taken over man’s heart with greed and control.. But I am happy to say that there are many now who are at last beginning to awaken to those Key components and start to reach out to others with compassion and understanding, It may not be publicised upon the TV as we still see the fear based message trying to keep us all in fear. But The WEB of life spins and it is at last reaching others who are now beginning to question the fabric of our society and little by little the separate Tribes are joining together with one heart! To say Enough is Enough.. And this is Not the way we want to live anymore.. We are seeing and creating a NEW world right now.. even though those powers that be who hold onto their greed and power would have us believe otherwise.. The Light of our Love is reaching out and creating ripples.. 🙂

Yes Exactly Wolfie my Hoooowwwling friend.. Many did not know why they were caught up in it. That’s just it. They went along with the flow.. The mass consciousness, as it gripped them to be part of something.. anything, but it felt good to many, because they were actively doing something, even if that something turned into something bad, because they ended up with some of those tougher elements of streetwise kids of criminal backgrounds.. Who were out to destroy!..
This is why civil unrest is such a volatile power-keg and how one group then turns against another Group.. as Power to control Creeps in.. We have only to look back into the Nineties when civil war broke out in former Czechoslovakia , which waged war, neighbour against neighbour and used their religious groups as a reason in that terrible war I remember so very well as Ethnic cleansing took place ..
This is why we need to nurture our Children and show them we care and give them hope and dignity and respect.. Many are brought up as Latch-Key children fending for themselves as society has developed into this materialistic World of perpetual Spending and borrowing.. Those who have no Love in their hearts are the Street Lone-sharks, the criminal elements.. Who probably have always lived by the rule of Fear and never been given much in the sense of Love..
The Breakdown of society is every ones problem, WE are that society.. And we all of us need to show each other more love and respect and like another commenter said… Love is the Key.. And its something we have lost, as we Love THINGS now-a-days much more than we do People or our Animals..
Keep Howling my fine Wolfie.. as I love our chats, and I know I would like all to be perfect my dear fine friend.. But my glasses I wear are far from Rosy coloured.. I so wish they were ! 🙂 Hugs to you and glad you enjoyed the read, and I am pleased your comment gave me a chance to put this point of view across also 🙂 xxx

It’s crazy how simple life really is…to have fertile soil to grow food on..have clean fresh water to dink..to bathe and swim in and of course to love all.
It is a pity the best man can do it find new improved ways to blow things up and turn the earth into a living dump despite all the computerised technology at hand which is beyond belief in how much knowledge we have come to learn and how much there could be to gain, but oh no we all like to have our so called necessities.

We are failing our younger generation in many ways, as they lose hope as they leave education and cant find a job, many whose parents too out of work.. And we are leaving them a world which is polluted and dying .. Is it any wonder they are confused, and rebellious.. and many who are sensitive find themselves bullied and opt to end their lives .. Yes Marja.. we have a lot to be thankful for in our day when growing up.. most of us had a job to go to when leaving school and had much brighter prospects than many face today.. xx hugs to you xx ~Sue

Thought provoking article! An observation I’ve made on people hiding themselves under hoods and caps: In my youth I was painfully shy. Once I realized it was a problem, I became, as some might describe, “painfully outgoing.” 🙂 For years I found many people uncomfortable with how instantly comfortable I was with them. Much avoiding of eye contact and feeling of awkwardness on their part. It wasn’t until I started wearing a hat and tinted lenses in my glasses that I found strangers to start being more warm and comfortable around me. They weren’t unsettled by my eye contact, because there was none, at least from their end. It wasn’t until my true appearance became partially hidden that I found people being more open and friendly. I changed nothing, same outgoing attitude, same smile, same jovial attitude, but when they couldn’t see who I really was, they seemed so much more willing to smile and joke back. This especially applied to younger people. We’re such a timid race, aren’t we? Always needing to gently ease into new relationships, even to the point of doing so visually. 🙂

I’d like to nominate you for this week’s 1-in-100 Warrior Award for your always inspiring and thought-provoking writing. Thank you for sharing your wisdom with us!

Wow! thank you Miro, first for that revelation about your younger days.. Its amazing isn’t it just how many avoid eye contact, that is something I always do.. Look a person in the eye… I go out walking alot and often I and my hubby will make a kind of game to see how many we pass upon our walk acknowledge our greetings and how many never look up as they scurry along.. I make a point of being polite and smiling a welcome greeting… I think within today’s society we have become so suspicious of others and peoples motives, as we do not trust each other anymore.. We lock our doors behind us fearing to be robbed of our ‘Things’ and we give each other labels and place each other into categories of high, middle, and lower class.. Many of our young are hiding away, maybe many are really hiding away from their selves as they no longer feel part of that society and welcome.. As they get labelled as Yobs! And WE group them all together as being the same.. When they are not..
I know I knew several Hells Angels, who to look at them would scare you to death! Lol.. But two nicer fellows you couldn’t have met, they may have had long hair piercing and tattoos but their hearts were Full of love and they did wonders to raise awareness and funds for the local Hospice and Children’s ward at the hospital ..
Second Miro.. I am bowled over by your Warrior 1 in a 100 Warrior Award.. many many thanks for that, I am very honoured of this gift.. and will wear it with pride.. Thank you Miro… Love and Blessings. ~Sue 🙂

    Aho my Dreamwalker Sista,
Intriquing you mention the Rainbow Warriors…
Today in my circles I found this quote from the song “Rainbows Come Home”…
“Rainbows come home. Twilight dance and snow! Mountains bring me home. I’m floating over to the shore. Rainbows come home, dance like the snow. You and me, we are freedom, all we have to do is dream! Rainbows come home. Dance with me in the sun! Feel my heartbeat, feel my love, and I will show you the way home!”
Same page and smiling with you from the heart,
    warm feathery,
    Raven of Leyla xx

Had to re-read this entry today because you hit the nail on the head. So many seem so lost these days and in despair. If only they would open their hearts and ears and hear the words of the elders and see who they really are – what they are a part of.

Yes sagekateri, we are part the whole… but many now do not see that connection and how we have started to mistrust and label others seeing ourselves as seperate.. And thinking we know better than Mother nature ..

I am Yaqui Indian. My family, when I was young did not like to talk about the old days. I don’t know why. But, I got some stories from my grandfather. My grandfather and my grandmother lived in caves when they met. I just moved to Arizona. I can’t believe the discrimination that still goes on. I love the photos on your blog. I go to the ancient site that are here. They are so beautiful. The energy I feel around them are still strong with energy of the past. Take care.

Beautiful. Again, I wish I could read your comments too. Usually I do, but am sleepy. I hope to revisit this post.

We all need a ‘Tribe’ I believe. I think this is so important and is a huge reason why I’ve felt so lost and likely, my son too. I had a professor once who said we would all go insane without the “three M’s” –Membership, Mastery and Meaning.” Belonging, Feeling like we can do something well enough to at least talk about it with others or turn that into a career or hobby, and meaning is just that; to find meaning in our lives.

While living in the mountains, and studying under that professor, I wrote about a group of people who chose to be ‘homefree’ (homeless by choice). They called themselves a tribe, “The Beloveds” and said I was naturally one of them. It was very strange the way I met each of the Beloveds, individually, eventually learning that each person I’d met were in this small tribe, which was before I decided to write about them. What a great time it was. We had many gatherings of drumming, singing, and performing plays. For a while, I belonged, and it was wonderful.

I hope you don’t mind me simply sharing the thoughts and memories that came up from reading your post. Thank you again for the space and place to share. Thank you too for giving me, and others, a place to belong. You are very special!

    Love, Michelle.
    Big gentle hugs xoxoxo

Michelle, I am very touched by your words and I am honoured that you feel at home here among my pages..
Thank you so very much for sharing those thoughts with me and others.. Because we all of belong to a Tribe and that is the Human Race, something many forget as we have so separated ourselves into different boxes of Race, Creed, and Social Acceptance.. The Tribe of ‘Beloveds’ to me sounded to be an excellent tribe to belong to…Those who are ‘HomeFree’ have cast off the shackles of burdens of Debt, they are Free.. This Land is Free… it is in all our Care and keeping, we share it with Nature.. .. Our Society our way of being has long lost its tribe and forsaken it for the Tribe of Possessions, Greed, and Power.. These are the tribes are the rulers of many.. But there is a new tribe emerging.. And its one whereby we are being to think for ourselves and see that there is plenty for all.. and that we cannot keep carrying on abusing our Earth or each other… And We are starting to Re-awaken and live from our hearts… Keep living from your beautiful heart Michelle.. And these doors are always open when you wish to share your thoughts, for they are always well worth sharing.. Thank you xx

Thank you Sue, and esp., for reminding me of the ‘Tribe’ the Human Race. It’s true. It’s so easy to become separate, or at least feel separate, particularly these days when our world is full of such greed and heartless ways. I’m glad to be a part of this tribe who visit your sanctuary. Truly, I am.

Each of us, carries within us the capacity to change the world in small ways for better or worse. Everything we do and think affects the people in our lives, and their reactions in turn affect others As the effect of a seemingly insignificant word passes from person to person, its impact grows and can become a source of great joy, inspiration, anxiety, or pain. Your thoughts and actions are like stones dropped into still waters, causing ripples to spread and expand as they move outward.. I hope that I can send a few ripples out via the web of life, as we each of us weave the threads together... Welcome to my Sanctuary of Peace and Love... May we each spread our Lights around our World....Sue Dreamwalker
