German Shepherd Dog

Sometimes when I want to clear a space in my head I like to either listen to music or Draw… This week I had some spare time on my hands and so the Sketch pad and Pastels came out once again..

And here is the result.

German Shepherd

I hope you enjoy the result of this German Shepherd Dog I drew in Pastels..

I wasn’t brought up with Dogs my family always had cats, But I just love German Shepherds, well all four legged Dogs and Cats and animals .. But I remember one German Shepherd which was rather special… her name was Xena  who belonged to a dear friend..  She sent me this picture of her some years ago now.. Sadly  Xena she is no longer with us..

myfavorite doggie Xena

My earliest memory of a German Shepherd was when I was 6 or 7 years of age. I remember I had to walk past the Vicarage gates to the infant school in our village where this huge GS was usually safe behind… His bark I think was worse than his bite.. But to a young girl I was scared of him.. One day the gate was open and he bounded out as I went past, and he barked loudly at me..

My heart raced and I think I started to cry.. as I was on my own.. I remember a woman coming to my aid and saying he wouldn’t hurt me.. as she calmed me down.. The German Shepherd was ushered back behind the gate, But not before someone had let me stroke him and take away my fear.. Or I may have been afraid of dogs in the future..

Funny how when one’s mind is trying to empty itself.. It then becomes full of past memories.. That are triggered by something else..

Have a Great weekend all of you, and Sorry if I didn’t get around to visit all of you but your on my to do list.. Next week as I’m working this weekend..

Take care and be good to each other.

Dreamwalker

Once again you have added a lovely piece of artistry to your collection, I really like this one Sue, and it really stands out, indeed it is certainly one of your best I think 🙂 Xena looks very contented as she lays there, more than likely she was spoilt too, as with all our pets I think, I know that I like to spoil them that is for sure and why not, after all they give us so much don’t they my wickedly fine great friend 🙂 Hey and don’t you be working too hard over the weekend Sue or else? 🙂 😉

I am most pleased that you liked this art work Androgoth… It now sits in a frame and is on the wall . .. And I am most Certain Xena was spoiled in a very good way, I know she was much loved..
And thank you Androgoth.. The weekend at work passed quicker than some..and was lighter in mood than some of my shifts.. Enjoy your week my friend.. 🙂

Just remember to have some of those tranquil moments when you get home, chilling out with a nice glass of the red stuff and a box of chocolates perhaps, now that really would be a pampering moment don’t you think? 🙂

Have a lovely Tuesday now Sue 🙂

German Shepherds are my favourite dogs actually, I’ve never had any trouble with that breed myself they are quite intelligent and fairly easy to teach obedience …

I used to walk by a house with a German Shepherd also. He was not in a fence. His owner would always be sitting on the front steps. Not such a nice guy and would let the dog chase me on my bicycle. I never told b/c I knew my Dad wouldn’t let me ride to town if he knew the dog chased me each time. The dog lived until I was in my twenties, and when visiting my Dad, still, he would come out to chase my son and I, as we always had bicycles and enjoyed the country road. We had always had dogs growing up, but that one was very big. Plus, we were in the country, so all dogs chased cars. I figured they liked bicycles the same.

Your sketch is beautiful. Now, I am off to walk my girl. She is part Shepherd also.
    Peace and Blessings to you,
    Michelle. (and doggie kisses too!).

    Hi Sue,
That’s an absolutely gorgeous drawing of a german shepard, you really brought it to life, from the sparkle in his eyes to his perfectly pink tongue, I can almost hear him panting 🙂
Thanks so much for signing up for the GB event, I’m so glad! I think it’s going to be fun, and any question you may have at all please just ask.
Wish you a beautiful night and a great start to the week.

Beautiful Pastel drawing Sue, and sorry to rush past this one…as it’s set off my tear ducts… doesn’t take much to remind me of My Girl who left my side this May , and Yup..tears now dropping onto the keyboard, no wonder it keeps making typing errors, it’s getting rusty.. 😉 … Glad that you were able to overcome your fear… Dogs give so much, it’s hard when they leave you… and at the mo I feel so lost.. xPenx

Awwww…. so sorry to hear that Pen, our pets give us such unconditional love, I kept cats and one was 21 when she passed the other 14 .. they are part of your family and loved as family members so they leave a huge hole in our lives when they go… But they all survive the afterlife and She will be wagging her tail and jumping for joy when that day dawns to reunion..
Time is a healer and it gets better, but I still always miss my friends and companions who gave me so much devoted love.. I wish I could say that about ALL family in the Human Tree !
      Hugs x

The Weather is changing like many things on Earth at this moment… Your weather made the news here in the UK.. what ever you seem to get travels along the jet stream and we seem to get similar a few weeks later. So fingers crossed as the UK is never prepared and if an inch falls we come to a standstill. 🙂

Each of us, carries within us the capacity to change the world in small ways for better or worse.
