Native American Rights Under Assault
This is Appalling..
We all know how cold it has been here in the UK this week and as I speak a blizzard is blowing outside as the snow comes down thick and fast.. But most of us have our nice warm homes and fires in which we snuggle up to..
I want you now to take a look at this Video and see how the Crow Creek Reservation Native American Indian People are living, in one of the poorest Counties, near Fort Thomson South Dakota the medium income for some of these families is just $5,000 dollars a year, so Much less in terms of our Pounds Sterling..
South Dakota has a Law called the Seasonal Termination Protection Regulation, which says you can’t plunge someone who can’t afford the Electric Bill into KILLING COLD, Most cities have the same rule across the nation, but it does not seem to apply to Native American People because they are just being ‘Unplugged’.
Here the Electric Company are just cutting their Electric away, taking their only means of warmth and cooking means..

This is a disgrace of letting these families suffer and even die and not being protected by the law of not cutting electricity during the winter. Personally I do not understand the reservations which is separate from our country somehow. The government pays the Indians all these years every year for taking their land I guess in settlement. I believe it\’s time to address the settlement and the laws as these are hard times in our economy and help to charities are suffering too. Your post has me wanting to google all this and find out what\’s all going on there and even other reservations. Thank you my friend for enlightening us.

Dreamweaver;I live in South Dakota as you may know. You\’re right, this is a travesty in human rights. It\’s a black eye, or at least darkens both the eyes of the State and Federal Government here in America. I would recommend to everyone who is outraged by this vileness against the First Nation People.I would also like to invite all those who may want to voice your opinions to http://www.stat.sd.gov and let the governor here know how you fell about this like I have already done.Thank you Dreamweaver for sharing this.
