Learning Life’s Lessons

When we are going through turmoil or great sadness the last thing that many of us want to hear is that a deep learning can be found in this place.. In the midst of our pain and uncertainties, when we feel ‘picked on’ by life, either through the enormity of a problem or some loss, or simply like me at the moment you feel too exhausted to try to examine the situation.

I know I have felt anger and frustration over the things that have befallen me over the last couple of weeks. And I have got even more angry at myself, for I know they are simply material cosmetics that I thought myself in control of and have chastised myself more for getting so upset.

Looking back over this year I have many things I have to be grateful for, my lovely Family for one, and I go around telling people like yourselves to be positive. And yet I found myself in that Dark place of despair.. and when you get into that space, it becomes very hard to climb out of..

Many years ago I found myself in this pit.. But it was dug deeper by myself and my frustration of not knowing what it was I wanted, Not knowing me.. Who I was or how to become ME..

Today I know more about myself, and I find that these lessons repeat because I do need to learn from them..

I need to see that in this material world we have put too much onus on possessions. There is a powerful teaching that sadness has to offer.. It teachers us the ability that to surrender, and that acceptance to change go hand in hand.

Another teaching of sadness is compassion for others that are in pain, because it is only by feeling pain that we can really understand and allow for someone else’s.  Sadness is something that we all go through, and we learn from it, and our awareness grows from its presence in our lives,,

I always say that what goes around comes around, I feel so much sadness around the World.. and I am being pulled into its vacuum, instead of lightening the load..

I told a friend the other day that I was carrying rocks..

Well I have now had enough of them and I cast them off and turn them into petals,

Lightening the load and blow them away, One by one..

Step by step..

But by each step I get closer to knowing who I AM..

The problem with knowing who you are, you may not always like what you see..

But we have a life time to get to know our true selves.
